These people are crooks! If I could give them a zero I would. I'm not sure if there has been a change of ownership. The technician came out and did not know what was wrong with our gate. Didn't seem to know much about gates at all! Said he could change the batteries and give it a service. Charged us $1200. Shame on us for not asking the price before he did the work. The gate was not improved at all. My husband paid the bill and when I called the technician to find out why the cost was so high he told me that the batteries were $600. I knew that was not the case. I have someone here new who is highly reputable and referred by many. He told me batteries are about $60. We have asked for an invoice and never received one. We have also reached out to tell them that nothing was fixed. Do not use these people! read more

I was initially concerned because he said he did all his estimates via telephone. I think that's kinda lazy! But had a great 20 minute phone call with him that I thought was really productive. Francisco is AMAZING. He told us not to post until we were completely done with the job, but I had to post something right away. The nicest guy and soooo conscientious, knowledgeable and professional. Our gates hadn't been working for a while and we were opening and closing them manually. It then got even worse when someone accidentally fell on it and one side locked in the closed position... essentially locking us out of our driveway. I called Francisco. He immediately answered and was here in about an hour. Then he thoroughly cleaned, reconnected and investigated the whole unit and did his magic... and voila! Gates working!! However, we do have an issue with one side being slow and it could be issues with the circuit board or one other thing at the bottom of the gate itself. (Can't remember the name of that.) Anyway he will be ordering various parts for us to get the unit working in tip top shape. And for his work today? No charge! We were so grateful for his kindness and attentiveness. Talk about a cliché about your contractor no where to be found.....That's the case with this company. I thought I had established some sort of understanding with the owner (Francisco), said he would be coming on a Saturday to give an estimate by a certain time, I called, texted, even left a message on Yelp...no word from him until about 6 hours later via text apologizing for not contacting me back or making the estimate appt.. I can't recommend Francisco highly enough! I started doing research online when I thought we could finally afford to get an automatic gate installed on our wrought iron drive way gate. I did countless searches online and finally found the YELP reviews for Francisco from Pasadena Electric Gate and Door on YELP that outlined the type of work I was looking to have done. We also talked to 3 other larger companies (subcontractors) by phone and email that we found online. Not only was Fransisco's price the most reasonable, he was the only one who talked us through everything he would need, how we could help (to offset some of the cost) and essentially install trust from the first hand shake. Francisco stayed connected through the phone and never left me hanging (which has been an issue with other contract workers) and didn't try to stalk us after providing an estimate. It took us a couple weeks to raise funds and as soon as we were ready to go, he made it happen. On top of that, the work he did took less than 3 hours and looks beautiful! The gate opens and closes like a dream, the work is top rate and i am SO EXCITED to have the gate I have been dreaming about for several years- now a reality because of Francisco. I am happy with my new gate. I can also control the gate with my phone. As well as with a keypad gate entry for my gardener. He's done a great job with reasonable price. I minus one star because he was late and no call. He is very polite about it though. The service comes with a warranty. I would recommend this place. I explained my problem with my electric gate and he was able to tell me it was a battery issue and that I could probably replace them on my own. Texted him and then he finally got back to me saying he was working on my quote and would send it that evening. And then.. nothing. UPDATE - Tired of not hearing from Francisco and storing his wood samples, I texted him to let him know I'd be tossing them out and surprise surprise he suddenly had time to respond me. Unfortunately it was in the form of verbal abuse. Glad I didn't hire this guy. I also think he's kind of sexist - you know, that type of contractor who takes dudes more seriously. I doubt he would have been so rude to my husband. Judging from the reviews it seems most of the women gave negative reviews. I think it's a 50/50 chance this guy will flake on you. Instead of charging Us for our ignorance in fixing a very simple problem, he stayed on the speaker phone with Me (while welding another clients gate miles away) and walked Me thru the inner workings of My keypad and gate box! I am extremely disappointed with Francisco and his company. I had read a lot of great reviews about him here on yelp just a few months ago. He was quick to respond to my request for an estimate, but once we hired him, he disappeared. Now I see he has several current poor reviews. Unfortunately, he makes a promise to come, then does not show up, call or text for weeks. The only work he did over about two and a half months was install the posts. Now we have to hire someone else to actually finish the job because we are tired of waiting and having to reach out to him to find out if he will ever be back. Used this company for repair to an exisiting swing gate that the latch had fallen off after many years. I called Francisco, owner, who was very professional and knowledgeable. He had me send him a photo and quoted me a fair price. When he came to do the job, he was able to use the old latch and welded it back in place. It works beautiful, like new. He also welded/repaired the hinge on the gate that had separated (over time) and did this at no additional cost. The job was clean and efficient. I had called another company (prior to contacting Francisco) and they wanted to "take me for a ride," giving me a quote for hundreds of dollars and telling me the gate needed to go into the repair shop!I So glad I avoided them. Gate was installed 6 months ago and should be under warranty. He promised to come by the next day but did not show up or call. There was an excellent review of his work for the same day. I've worked with Pasadena Electric Gate several times over the years to service or repair my electric gate. The owner, Francisco, is very friendly, professional, and his pricing is always fair. If you want half of a nice gate, then he's your guy, But he didn't tell us we needed electrical permits, zoning permits, and now I can't get my property approved. WHAT A JERK.
