This was my first time visiting a Ukrainian bakery, and what a treat it was! A classmate recommended Pashina, and before long, the whole class wanted to check it out--and we're so glad we did. We had a wonderful time chatting and enjoying some of the cakes. I believe we tried the Napoleon, Lemon Raspberry, and Double Brownie with Cherry. My favorite was the Napoleon cake: flaky, creamy, layered, and not overly sweet. It even reminded me a bit of baklava. I'd highly recommend the Napoleon cake for a birthday or any special celebration! Parking: There's parking in front of the bakery, along the side by the street, and in the lot behind the building, so finding a spot was easy. Seating: The bakery is small and quaint, which adds to its charm, but seating is limited. There's a small table with a few chairs and a cozy little nook by the window--perfect for enjoying your treats and catching up with friends. Overall, Pashina was a delightful experience, and I'm so happy I got to try something new. I'll definitely be back to sample more of their pastries and cakes! Thank you for having us! read more

Homemade Ukrainian bakery with cozy vibes. Had the chicken dish and beef dish - they are obviously homemade and made with care. The beef item reminded me of coxinha in Brazil but better - the chewy texture is there without the intense amount of bread. 10/10 would come back, you can taste the passion and attention to detail here. Just found this GEM!!!! I ordered three pastries. I can tell they are made from scratch in shop daily. Absolutely delicious. I got a savory/sweet pastry, a potato filled pastry and a chicken/cheese pastry and a cappuccino. Loved every bite. We ate them before I remembered to take a picture. Lovely combination of flavors. I have this place bookmarked and recommended to me by a Ukrainian lady who works at the European market. Finally I had the chance to pass by and sample everything they had that day. I wish I remember the names of what I got... I had some sort of puff pastry filled with chicken and that was absolutely delicious! I had a mango sort of pie same! Delicious! The honey cake I brought home thinking I will eat a piece and save some for later... not! Once you start eating it no way of return! Calories! Diet... forget it! They were making some dough filled with potatoes... everything was truly so good and fresh! Made from the heart! The ladies were kind, helpful and sweet. They had baked that day an Easter specialty almost same as panetone so good! I want to be there on a cold day order a coffee and all their pastries. The place is super cute and cozy. I really wanted to love this place to support the Ukrainian community, but there's room for improvement. The $10 slice of cake was dry, and the pastry selection was quite limited. Inside, there was only one small bistro table with two chairs, which made seating scarce. It was also disappointing to see unused outdoor space where additional tables could easily be added. I hope they make some adjustments, as I'd love to see this business thrive. read more

I've visited Pashina Bakery twice in the last year, on two separate visits to see family in San Antonio. I used to live in this neighborhood, so when we were driving down Hildebrand and saw the sign for Pashina, I may have shouted: "Stop!" But you don't happen upon a Ukrainian bakery in Texas everyday! Pashina is run by Olena Ramanko, whose family was displaced from the Kherson region of Ukraine after the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The bakery sells lots of Ukrainian cakes, dumplings, pastries, and more! The service is lovely, and everything they sell is made by hand with care. The bakery is small (but cute), so grab a few things to go and share them with friends and family. Pashina is a special business - you can support them and learn about a cuisine that isn't easy to find and try in Texas! Stop next time you're driving by! read more

I have been here before. It is small and quaint. But a nice quiet retreat to relax and enjoy great food. This bakery was rated the Best of 2025 in Business Rate for San Antonio. 19 Apr 2023 Pashina has taken over the space that was Bexar Kolaches. Very similar offerings: Kolaches sweet and savory, buns stuffed with ham and cheese, sausage and jalapeños. There was an egg-type one, too. Lady from the Ukraine greets you. A man (I'm thinking American) is also there. He does a lot of the talking. They did ask us what we would want to see them offer. We suggested cookies. Yeah, that's all we had for them. If you buy five items, you get the sixth one free. Not bad. Go there. read more

Authentic, made-from-scratch Ukrainian food. My favorite is the honey cake (Medovik) and chebureki (meat empanadas). These two transport me back to my childhood--so good, and the taste is exactly like back home. Highly recommend!! read more

Discovered this craft bakery this morning and had a delicious breakfast and enjoyed a vanilla cream danish, a ham & cheese perogi and a chicken & cheese turnover. This is a tiny little gem of a bakery in the middle of Olmos park! Everything is homemade. Their pastries are flaky and not heavy. Had their kalache and sweet danish looking things that blew me away. We were passing by this bakery, saw the name, and swerved into the parking lot. If you go, the cream cheese pastry is a must! We got the pig in a blanket as well, it's a bit different from ones I've had in the past but still extremely delicious. These ladies were cranking out pastries by hand in front of my eyes.
