The Brown Butter Cookie store is a cute storefront with a pistachio green and brown awning in Downtown Paso Robles. They have a prime corner location that practically begs you to visit simply for the nostalgia of it. Immediately upon entry, I was greeted by an employee who walked up to me offering free samples. The cookies are good! They are rich, dense, and everything you want in a shortbread cookie but you can tell the butter is not your typical butter. If you're not familiar with brown butter, it's something you have to try. It's rich, bold, and nutty. Which made the cookies rich and full transparency, it helped me to eat less cookies. I can easily down a dozen cookies on my own, but in this case, I savored them because they were on the dense side. The original Brown Butter Sea Salt cookies are the original flavor and most popular, but they also have lemon zest, which was a nice summer flavor. Not too heavy on the lemon and it had the base of the brown butter sea salt. I also had Chocolate Chip Brown Butter cookies. The chocolate is Ghirardelli chocolate. Other flavors that I didn't get the chance to try are Snickerdoodle, and Toffee Chocolate. They sell the cookies individually, in bags of 2, 6, a dozen, and gift boxes are also available. Prices are a bit steep at a little over a dollar per cookie, but totally worth it if you don't have the chance to eat them often. They have a website and you can shop online. Overall, this is a great cookie shop to stop in and treat yourself to non-ordinary cookies. The customer service was good and I'd stop in the next time I'm in Paso Robles.

Delicious and unique cookies in the heart of downtown Paso! I don't think Brown Butter Cookie could possibly have a better location, right across from the park and at a crosswalk, it's almost impossible to miss them. I first came in back in 2019 and really enjoyed sampling all the different flavor cookies they had. They had quite the variety and each one was tasty. Since Covid hit they stopped doing samples for a while, but on my most recent visit they were doing them once again! This time it was only one of their flavors instead of a bunch, but it was still good to be reminded on how good these cookies are! It seems like they don't have as many flavors as they used to, but they have some new ones that I don't remember seeing in the past, including a partnership with Ghirardelli to use their chocolate chips in some. I noticed they also have some more traditional classic cookies in addition to their specialty brown butter cookies.

Always have to pick up some cookies before heading back home. Always fresh and ready. Just your classic favorite and few others. Pop into for a little sample which always the best of whatever that maybe. The chocolate chip cookies are to die for. A favorites always.

A central coast go to. Setup in the very underrated downtown Paso Robles is Brown Buttee Cookie. If you've been to Cayucos then you are well aware of how good their cookies are. The original short bread is always top notch. The service at this location is great. The employees are always friendly. Stop by for something sweet.

While visiting Paso Robles this summer my sis and I walked around the quaint town and came across this store. Anything "cookie" oriented always catches my attention. Owner Traci introduced herself and told us all about the cookies. They make them on site and are available for delivery and/or shipping. The cookies melt in your mouth! I bought a stack for $20. It included 1 big chocolate chip cookie, 1 oatmeal, 1 lemon, 1 snicker doodle, 2 small round brown butter cookies and 1 small round chocolate butter cookie. Phoenix checked me out at the register and was super friendly. The inside of the store is very clean, organized with an open concept. A hot spot for tourists and a "must"' try if visiting the area. *Plenty of free parking in the area

I had never visited this location before, as we usually find Cayucos more convenient. However, this place is far more inviting. It's spacious and pleasant to walk through. The customer service was excellent. If you haven't tried their cookies, you're missing out--they are heavenly. I always bring a tower of cookies back for the family. My personal favorite is the salted brown butter shortbread. If you can't visit the store, they offer shipping to your home, so be sure to check out their website. The cookies are absolutely delicious. 6/24/24

These cookies are fresh literally as you're walking in. They are baking them, packaging them up and getting them back onto the shelves... This was our last stop before heading home .. we had several requests and we wanted to give them out as gifts. They are packaged so beautifully for the holidays each with its own bag with tissue. These cookies are no joke so be prepared to be addicted. They are so buttery and so yummy. They come in original chocolate and I believe maple. We bought the original and the chocolate and they are outstanding. They are located on the Square and Paso right on the corner. You cannot miss them. The staff are incredibly helpful and giving out samples to everyone ... These brown butter bakers were working overtime

This place popped up when I googled places to go in Paso Robles. Seemed like a good cookie place. I, myself sure love cookies so I was excited to try. While my mom and my friend went to get a massage, I came here lol I m not sure why these cookies were $1.50 a piece (bite size cookies). It was made with just sugar, salt and butter. The texture was somewhat dry. Also, too sweet and somewhat too salty. I felt like I was biting into a block of sugar. The almond flavor did make it better compared to the original. Still, I don't think I will get it again. It was a mistake purchasing 2 bags.. I need to control myself lol

We popped in to grab a small cheese plate to take along to our wine tasting, and it turned out to be such a great decision. Everything was thoughtfully curated--the cheeses were exquisitely paired with locally produced accompaniments like olives and nuts, which really elevated the whole experience. It was so good we completely forgot to take a "before" picture... but trust me, the empty box at the end says it all--total satisfaction! Simple, delicious, and perfectly suited for a wine country outing. Such a great treat!

But if you're planning a visit, build in serious buffer time. We stopped in on Memorial Day and, with several parties ahead of us in line, didn't place our order until nearly 20 minutes after arriving. By the 45-minute mark, our food still hadn't come out for two paninis and a soup. What made it especially frustrating was watching parties who arrived after us get their cheese orders and drinks served before anyone had even started assembling our sandwiches. It was clear the shop was understaffed for the holiday weekend, with one person managing the counter and another in the back prepping. We ended up asking to take the sandwiches cold just to get out the door, only to have both stuffed into one small bag, sloppily wrapped. The soup, unfortunately, came out lukewarm regardless. None of this felt malicious. The shop has an unhurried, artisanal quality that's part of its appeal, but that can't fully account for the gap between the experience and a nearly hour-long wait for a simple lunch order while others moved ahead of us. Come for the cheese, come for the atmosphere. Just don't come hungry with anywhere to be.

Unassuming from the outside, this hidden gem brings a blend of Latino cultures to the literal table. We've been here before and loved it, but they've since elevated their menu and added many more items. The wine list is overflowing with small-batch, boutique local wines--either Latino-owned or featuring Spanish varietals. I started with a glass of Victor Hugo Merlot, which was fantastic, but let me tell you about the Caelesta Cab/Mourvèdre. This sexxy red (shoutout to my girl Sexxy Red) was velvety, incredibly well-balanced, and perfectly complemented the paella fideuà. Junction serves fideo, or fideuà, sourced from Etto Pasta, and it's always nostalgic for me. This comforting yet stylish dish hugged me like it hadn't seen me in years. I teared up (yeah, I did...what about it?) and actually paused to consider: do I want to eat this whole dish in one sitting? Should I reconsider post-date-night plans because I might be too full? Nah--bring it on. The calories can be worked off later. The seafood paella fideuà got better with every bite. The shrimp, squid, rockfish, and mussels were cooked to perfection. I found myself clutching my linen napkin, wishing the dish would never end, hoping that my wife wouldn't notice that I'm about to make this paella my bitch, wishing I could endorse this paella to run for president and run more than two terms! Splooosh! The food and wine are the kind you'd tell your grandkids about around a campfire--meals that inspire the next generation of food lovers. But the staff were just as much the stars of the show. The space is on the smaller side but thoughtfully laid out. They were slammed--in the best way. It's the kind of place where you know whatever you order will be great, yet you worry service might slip with only two servers and no hostess. Both my wife and I have worked in service, so we appreciate a well-oiled machine--and I'm not talking about myself here. I'm talking about the legends who ran the floor that night. Too often, diners overlook the staff or don't fully understand the intensity of a Friday night rush. Major kudos to the chef and kitchen team, but may the odds forever be in favor of the front-of-house crew for flawlessly navigating the chaos. Luke Estrella was definitely getting his steps in, along with his teammate, but they always made time to pour wine, share insights, and connect with guests--all while smiling and putting out fires left and right. Bravo. 4 stars cause everyone could use room to grow.

Yes, when on vacation, sitting in your hotel room and debating if going back out with 3 kids for dinner after a long day exploring the area sounds like a good idea.... Suddenly, getting Pizza sounded so much easier, and a heck of a lot cheaper. So my wife jumped on Yelp, found Moe's Pizza, placed our order online and off I went to grab us a Pie. Yeah, a little Pepperoni, a dash of pineapple and a whole handful of Parmesan cheese packets, and before we knew it, I was back in the room handing slices out, watching a little Netflix and Chillen in the comfort of our hotel room. A little Netflix & Chill action at its finest! The pizza itself was pretty tasty; Moe's definitely doesn't skimp on the pepperoni or the pineapple for that matter, and the cheese, the sauce & the crust absolutely matched the vibe that the 2 main stars of the show were puttin' down. It's a small place, not fancy, but it felt friendly and relaxed, the kind of place that doesn't try too hard and knows what it is. Here are the details... *Service: everyone was very friendly. The guy at the front was genuinely nice, but he was pretty confused and confusing when I asked about the daily specials and pricing. He tried to explain it, but it made understanding what was what harder than it should have been. Nothing negative intention-wise at all, just a little chaotic and unclear. *Food: I ordered the burger medium rare, no cheese. It came out medium well with cheese and a very small piece of pineapple. Not exactly what I ordered, but it still tasted good. It had plenty of condiments, lettuce, tomato, a thin slice of ham, and mayonnaise. Flavor-wise it was solid, just not what I asked for. The fries were excellent. Crispy, fresh, and clearly made from real potatoes. They slice whole potatoes in-house with a slicing machine and turn them straight into fries, which I thought was really cool. They also had some kind of seasoning on them that made them even better. They have a lot of good burger options, plus chicken sandwiches, salads, and chicken strips. I liked that there was variety beyond just burgers. They also do a daily special burger for $10.99, combo meals are $13.99, and you can sub onion rings for fries for $0.99, which felt fair. *Ambiance: it's pretty clean, open, and small, about ten tables inside. It felt comfortable and simple. There are a few tables out front and a picnic table under a big tree, which is a nice idea, but it's right off the main street so it's not super peaceful. *Value: it felt like a pretty good value. The pricing made sense for what you get, especially with the daily specials and combo options. Nothing felt overpriced. *Overall: this was a solid but not standout experience. Friendly people, great fries, good burger flavor, but the order accuracy and confusing explanation of specials held it back. I give it 3 out of 5 stars. It's a decent stop if you're in the area and want something casual and quick. I added a bunch of pictures to help you get a feel.
