I did not toss paperwork at your receptionist. I handed her the one paper separate from the rest so she would see the note I left. I did raise my voice after your staff walked out on me. I got a root canal here in the summer of 2024 and am now having to get the tooth pulled. like reviews i have space around the tooth and now have an abscess under it. I truly had such a smooth, easy experience here with Dr. Pouresmail. My first appointment was a consultation for a root canal. He was kind and asked me questions about my pain. He confirmed which tooth it was with some testing methods and an X-ray. I then met with his staff up front, Karla I believe is her name. She is very kind and thorough with describing the process of how the day of your root canal will go, as well as fully explaining the costs. The day of my root canal I came in and had my hair in a bun right in the center of the back of my head. Dr. Pouresmail came in to greet me and explained that I would need to fix my hair so it sat lower near my neck, that it would be uncomfortable leaving it where it was. That might not sound like much to you but I really appreciated that detail because honestly I forgot how long I'd be sitting in that chair, and just that little change made it so much more comfortable. He and his assistant checked in with me throughout the procedure, and it went by smoothly! If you're looking for someone who knows exactly what they're doing and will make sure your teeth are properly taken care of, I highly recommend Dr. Pouresmail and his team! They also require for you to pay half of any treatment even the consultation. They say once insurance pays they will refund you. Yeah right! Arrived for an appointment at 09:25 hours was given some paperwork and the clerk demanded my photo ID so they can make a copy of it. I inquired why and she stated that it is their policy to make photocopies of a person's ID card I had some issues with it which I verbalized and the female stated to the fact that I either surrender my ID for them to copy or I can basically go somewhere else reluctantly I provided my identification. I had some issues with all their paperwork that they wanted filled out completely and there were some issues about information being released to third party vendors which did not sit well with me after 50 minutes of sitting in the waiting room with my thumb up my backside the so-called Endodontics came out and was very confrontational that he has been waiting 50 minutes and that he can no longer see me and that I have to reschedule and I told him that I arrived at 09:25 hours and he goes that he cannot see me and that I need to make an appointment / reschedule if I wanted his dental services. What a waste of my time the staff were very confrontational, I guess they only cater to caucasians and are less than professional to minorities. read more

The office is nice. He did a root canal on an abscessed tooth, but the puss continued to create a bubble. I went back and he said it was normal and told me to book my 6 month checkup. Days afterward my health began to fail in a big way. I was in constant pain for the next month. After two hospital visits, numerous doctors appointments, x rays, scans and six blood tests, they finally gave me an antibiotic to treat the tooth abscess. I then had to have the tooth pulled. I would not recommend him to anyone! in my opinion, he cost me a month of my life and thousands of dollars. read more

The office was very clean and doctor's staff was professional. They scheduled my appointment right away and I appreciated that very much. However, after my examination yesterday I jokingly said to the doctor, "Can you do the procedure?" His demeanor instantly changed. He said that he would have to leave the room because he did not know how to answer that question - visibly angry and shaken. He did not leave the room but instead answered a few more questions and said his staff would schedule my appointment. It was scheduled and I left. Then today his office called and said the doctor did not feel that I was a good fit and he was canceling my appointment. They DID collect my consultation fee and are NOT plan on giving it back. Maybe someone ran over his kitty that morning and he was having a bad day. I hope it's not that he is so arrogant that he is unable to except anyone ever daring to question his ability. read more

If you have anxiety or panic disorder when dealing with the dentist, DO NOT come here. I had informed the dentist and his staff of my severe anxiety and panic attacks when getting dental work done. In which case, he prescribed me some medication to "help" relieve my symptoms and act as a mild sedative. After taking the sedative I managed to fall asleep and then only to be shook awake as I have a giant syringe in my mouth and he's about to give me shots. This was the exact reason as to why I panic and get anxiety at the dentist! I made it clear to them my fear of needles and obviously pain. Why would you prescribe a sedative only to wake someone up as you're doing the worst part? As I woke up and have this syringe in my mouth, I start to come to & realize what's going on. So I start to get a little panicked & scared, but I wasn't acting ridiculous or irrational. This man then YELLS at me that he is going to stop his work, he is not "putting up with me" and he was going to have me sent home if I didn't stop. I couldn't believe he was so insensitive, mean, and demeaning to a patient that cannot control what happens to them. Don't go here. read more

Dr. Pouresmail, I was referred from my long time dentist and knew he would never send me to anyone that he did not trust in their work and admire. I had to have a root canal, extractions and 2 tooth implants. I could have honestly had most of the work done without being giving something to relax me. Dr. Pouresmail just wanted me to be comfortable. This office is serious about their work. It is not any dentist office responsibility to make the family comfortable while they wait. Bring a book or something to entertain yourself. I have never waited more than 10 minutes in the waiting room so scheduling is important. The doctor himself was rude to me, condescending, and treated me as if I was a burden in his day, a peon, an unintelligent and incapable waste of life. In fact, I felt frightened by his callous and sneering verbal abuse directed at me and his assistant. What I find important for any dental visit is that I be informed of the procedures, methods and approach of their practice; especially due to my anxiety. Based on a recommendation from a colleague, I drove all the way from San Jose to Paso Robles to meet Dr. Pouresmail. Dr. Pouresmail and his staff gave me the comfort of thought when they explained and informed of their practice. Not to mention, they did practice what they preach! I had a root canal procedure, and it was quite fast and professionally done. Besides the negative of driving all this way for a root canal. I think it was the best decision I've done. My second root canal went very well. I felt no pain during the procedure. They went over everything with me before my root canal. Everyone in the office was friendly and courteous. I felt very comfortable and they even called the next dat to see how I was doing. I highly recommend going here if you need a root canal or are in need of dental implants. Dr. Pouresmail and all of the front desk staff were great. I had a root canal re-do done and I was frustrated when going in to because the first root canal I had done by Dr. Cox failed. Dr. Pouresmail is not someone that will sit there and ask you about your life and kids and is very serious, but he is professional, and caring, and is very very good at what he does. They gave me the option to take a couple of happy pills before the root canal so I would sleep through it and I highly suggest that option!! So nice to not have to go through that awake :). I had an appointment with this Endodonist to have a root canal. I got my prescription from the Pharmacy and the day of my appointment, I read the RX and took the Medication as the instructions stated," Take 2 pills one hour before dental appointment." I did just that. About 1/2 hour after I took the RX, I got up and fell. My 91 year old husband tried to catch me and we both ended up in the ER. I went to the Pharmacy thinking that maybe the had made a mistake. The mistake was the Doctors. All he said was you should have known better because I had previously had him do another tooth. His office and the Doctor were so rude. Today I day another Endodonist who told me that the tooth he was to fix was the wrong tooth. I can't believe how cold and rude he was. read more

I am surprised there are so many five star reviews. Yes, I believe the doctor is proficient at what he does. However, I he is greatly lacking in his bedside manner. I went initially for an implant consultation in the spring. I felt the office staff and the doctor were cold and unfriendly. I almost changed my appointment, but I decided maybe it was an off day. I went back for another appointment for x-rays. I was told I needed to have a root canal first. I also didn't know I was supposed to bring in the large amount of paperwork back with me. Fortunately, it was in my car. At this appointment, Dr. Pouresmail took his time and went through the paperwork with me. Therefore, I felt comfortable going back. Well, after today, I have changed my mind. I had the root canal. When I woke, I had the rubber dam in my mouth and the doctor and nurse were working on me. I had to go to the bathroom. I waited for awhile, because I couldn't talk with that thing in my mouth. Finally, I said, in a garbled manner, "I need to use the bathroom". He replied, "You should have told me fifteen to twenty minutes ago." I said, still with that rubber dam in my mouth, "I can't talk." He replied, "You're talking now." Before I left that day, I told him that I didn't appreciate his comments. Even though I have dual dental insurance coverage, I had to pay $909.00 out of pocket today to be treated like this. He may highly skilled, but I don't pay money to be treated in an unprofessional and condescending manner. read more

Here is just some of the facts : (The doctor was extremely rude and condescending when asked about his experience with implants. When asked specific questions about my treatment plan, he avoided giving me a straight answers and only spoke in generalities. He was dismissive of my opinions and concerns regarding root canals. When I didn't bring in the (many, many) pages of paperwork to my appointment (was never told I was supposed to), I was scolded. A grown woman, scolded! I had a tooth extraction by Dr. Poursmail in 6-14. He was curt , rude and consescending before the procedure, Afterwords I asked his staff for pain medication for the day and was told no. I asked again several hours later and his staff was extremely rude and said no again. They said I could go to the emergency room if I need a pain pill. Dr. Poursmail sent me a letter saying they don't give out routine pain med, I didn't feel after having my tooth ripped out asking for a pain pill 2x was asking too much. Very uncaring. read more

My dentist office made an appointment with Dr. Pouresmail for a root canal, after having it been confirmed with 2 separate xrays, and forwarded to Dr. Pouresmail. The receptionist was well aware that I was coming in for a root canal procedure the day of my appointment. Because it was an ER situation we had to have a special 48 hour authorization from Delta Dental for a ROOT CANAL procedure, NOT a consultation. When I arrived, the dental assistant informed me that my root canal procedure could not be done as planned because another patient had called in with more pain, so I was bumped and had to leave. When I asked why this was being done, I was told by the receptionist that this was only a consultation appointment , not a root canal appointment!! and I was charged $198. Being bumped was bad enough, but being told something that was not true to cover their bad behavior was so upsetting. I had never been treated so rudely and unprofessional in my life. Before leaving the receptionist made another appointment for a root canal 2 days later, and I advised her that she was going to have to call Ins. and try to get yet another 48 hour authorization. By the time I got home, I was not only near tears but very upset. I called and cancelled the appointment for 2 days later. I KNEW I never wanted to step foot in that office again. My husband called the office and spoke with the receptionist and indicated that we hoped they weren't actually serious about charging us almost $200 for this fiasco. She argued back and forth, and finally said she would speak with the doctor. The next afternoon she called to say that I was to disregard the statement I would receive in the mail for the $198. In the meantime I sent a letter to the doctor because I wanted everything in writing, because I didn't particularly have much faith in what the receptionist might tell him. And, today I received a letter from him, STILL justifying their disgraceful treatment, but thank goodness they had the good sense to not charge us. Will I ever go there again?
