Just a joy to have something like this in Valdosta. Those familiar with the town will understand that there are not many exotic options, so this is certainly a must try. Like most Indian places, the Buffet is quite the treat. Can't beat the amount of food available for the price. The entrees are great and there are tons of options. Sometimes I am a bit turned off by the portion sizes though. You would think they could be generous with rice or some of the cheaper chicken dishes. I was never a fan of indian food but this place is slowly changing that. The food is fantastic.. super fresh and of high quality. The food always come out quick and hot. There are so many authentic indian dishes on the menu that you'd have to keep on coming back to try new different things. The owners and waitstaff are very welcoming and nice. The roti/naan is always essential to any dish. Their lamb and any combination of curry are always great. Each curry have their own distinctive taste and ingredients. I stopped in here once before a few years ago with my co workers. It was awesome at the time. Firmly in the top 3 Indian that I have ever had. So I remembered the place and planned to return if I was ever in town. Flash forward to Wednesday. Driving to Florida for work, I hit it right at the lunch buffet. . . OH GOODIE... Indian Buffet! MEH. Just MEH. I wasn't impressed with the selection. It didn't taste that good and wasn't at all spicy. It's like they dumbed down the spice for lunch time morons or something. It's Indian food. We were traveling from a different state and stopped by looking at the reviews. When we walked in, the staff (a kid) started talking very rudely, like order once and we will only take one order. We were lil surprised and the other staff started showing discrimination, like taking orders from some table and not from others. When we asked politely, they started fighting with us. They literally asked us like 'do you want your food or not', that's when we left the place. And the staff were like just get out. We just walked out politely, like grown ups. In town for a few weeks for work, did my usual query of local Indian restaurants and Passage 2 India turned up. I checked out their menu and was pleased to see a wide variety of options and many positive reviews. I've been eating (and cooking) Indian cuisine my whole life so I consider myself a connoisseur. I ordered the lamb samosas and a fish curry. Both were excellent! They both tasted very fresh and the chutney that came with the samosas was exceptional. It may just be me not being used to Indian food. We like things more spicy than all our friends but everything we ordered here had a bit too much kick to it. I am used to eating different types of food (Persian, Mexican, Thai, Lebanese, Greek, etc.) but Indian always seems very different. All that being said, the service was excellent and swift. I got Korma with vegetables and husband got Aloo Muttar. Both were tasty but SPICY. We both ordered it "medium" hotness but wish we had gotten "mild". Both dishes came with basmati rice which was a little dry. I also ordered a mango lassi which was good. The garlic, chili naan bread was probably the best thing we ordered. Overall, the meal was ok and probably respectable Indian food, but not being a big fan, I just wasn't wow-ed by it. Decided to go here based on mostly good reviews. My co-worker and I were a bit skeptical coming in as it was 7pm with only us there for dinner. The decor is very dated looking and old, which made us question if the kitchen was taken care of, so we were reluctant to staying. We started with garlic naan. It was very delicious and fresh. We noticed more patrons coming in which also put us at ease. We also heard a few to-go ordered phoned in. We then decided to order dinner. We went with the spinach paneer and tikka masala along with another order of naan. We also tried the spicy green sauce and sweet red sauce. Both different but we really liked the heat from the green. The dishes were very flavorful and offered a unique taste that we enjoyed. The chicken was on the well done side and the rice seemed dry but overall we enjoyed our meal and would come back. I slammed on breaks and did a pretty terrifying turn into the parking lot a few minutes ago. Passage 2 India is one of those places I've wanted to try for years but just never have for some reason. I was missing out. For lunch there is a buffet with literally everything Indian you can think of. Curry, masala, and many others including super yummy naan. The buffet was great because I tried literally everything they had and didn't have to get overstuffed or break the bank. Indian food is full of so many different flavors and so many that can't be found anywhere else. There's sweet, smokey, spicy, savory, and all of it is so unique. I would recommend coming at lunch, especially if you've never tried Indian food, because you have total control of what you get and you can try all kinds to figure out your favorite. Decided to try this place out on a friends recommendation... Had been by it 1,000 times and never given it a chance. I must say I was impressed. Fast, friendly, yummy. I ordered through Yelp Eat24 and it was a breeze. Great selection of vegetarian and vegan menu items. I had the Tarka Daal (yellow lentils roasted with spices) and it was awesome on top of the white rice that came on the side. One other plus, this restaurant lets you choose your level of spiciness on lots of dishes which I think is great. Will be returning soon to further explore their menu. read more

Valdosta is home to three Indian restaurants-two of which I have sampled over the holiday weekend. This place is located in a strip mall maybe ten minutes off the interstate. The menu is quite comprehensive although we only sampled the onion bhaji, chicken vindaloo, dhal makhani, one onion kulcha and one garlic naan. The portions were generous. The dhal dish was chock full of buttery garlicky goodness and had a wonderful creamy rich texture. The vindaloo was appropriately pungent and brimming with flavor. The breads were also delicious. Price was very fair. If I ever return to Valdosta I will certainly revisit this spot. read more

This is one of my favorite Valdosta restaurants. The food is always hot & delicious, with the right amount of spiciness. It may seem a bit pricey if you're on a college student budget but the portion sizes are large. I generally get 2 or 3 meals out of one order (I.e. a chicken dish which comes with rice, and a side of naan or roti). The waiters are pleasant and whenever I do a carry-out through the online ordering portal, the food is hot & ready when I get there. I've never been disappointed by Passage 2 India! read more

She spilled some water and few pieces of bread on table which may have fell on floor. but she is 11 month old kid and I will not give anyone right to disrespect my daughter by saying " Your daughter has created mess. I love Passage 2 India! I have been here a dozen times, and have loved every single dish I've tried. Of note are the Veggie Samosas (I love them!), Biryani (I prefer the veggie version), Chicken Vindaloo, and Curry Veggies. I order everything medium spicy, which is the perfect level of spice! I've also gone for the lunch buffet (as early as yesterday!). I love getting to try new items on the buffet, and everything on the buffet is prepared mild so even people who don't like spicy can try a variety of indian dishes! Passage 2 India is a great restaurant, and I'm not just saying that because it's the only Indian restaurant in Valdosta. Went twice on the same weekend-once for the lunch buffet, and once for the regular dinner menu when visiting recently. Check it out if you're in town. I've been to several Indian restaraunts in other cities, and this is among the best. The food is authentic and delicious. Recommend trying the Garlic Naan bread and some of the vegetarian dishes. Try the Chai Tea for a good beverage with your meal. I used to think that vegetables were bland/soggy things your parents made you eat boiled and drenched with butter/salt because they were good for you. It took meeting an Indian friend who showed me that vegetables cooked Indian style are delicious and can provide adequate protein that normally is provided by meat. I'm not a vegetarian/vegan, but occasionally add a vegetarian meal into my diet for a change of pace. They serve traditional meats like Chicken/Lamb, which Americans are used to eating, but with an Indian twist. They also have goat meat dishes, which is considered semi-exotic by many Americans. That being said, Indian food can be very spicy for those who haven't tried it before. When the server says something is spicy, that means Very Spicy by american standards. In other words, don't ask for the food prepared spicy unless you are used to eating really spicy foods. read more

I came back to visit and was glad to see some Indian joints had moved into town. We stopped by for lunch and they only had the buffet available. Good selection with a variety of different curries and meats. My wife asked the waitress which ones were spicy but we were informed that none of them were spicy because the general population in the area doesn't like anything spicy. Too bad. Not being familiar with the names of the dishes, I can tell that there were delicious vegetable dishes with a wide variety of gravies, a delicious spinach choice, curried chicken, and lamb with sauce surrounding a center of white rice. Went in for dinner with my family and we ordered chicken tikka & veg samosas for appetizers which were really delicious, The veggie samosas were heavenly specially with the mint chutney and the tamarind sauce. For maincourse we had ordered saag paneer, dal tadka, tandoori roti and cheese naan. Both the main course items were utterly delicious, The bread was good but the cheese naan could have been stuffed with a lot more cheese, that was the only thing that I was unhappy with. Great find! Stopped in Valdosta for a rest from the road on an I-75 trip. As a vegetarian, Indian food a favorite. The rest of my crew of three too beat to go out to eat, so I turned to Yelp to find the right take-out, and landed here. The non-vegetarian in the group raved over his Tiki Masala.
