This place preys on women and almost anybody that's gullible with a wallet. I brought my car here several months ago for an oil change and they told me I needed a new plug gasket for my engine-- to the tune of $900. So what did I do? I paid it and had it done (as a responsible car-owner). My fiance came in for an oil change-- and you'd never guess-- HIS car also needed a new plug gasket for $900. He declined. Neither of these experiences were enough for me to post this review-- but last week the AC went out in my car. I found a reliable auto company to give me an estimate to repair. Turns out I needed a new compressor-- the other company's estimate was $1499. I brought my car here for the second opinion. I called before coming and they told me they would give me an estimate free of charge-- mind you it also says on the front door they offer free AC Inspections and free estimates. They raised my car and spent about 10-15 minutes checking it out and then dropped the hammer. The compressor was shot (same diagnosis as the 1st company) which was what I was expecting. The cost to repair?? $4200!! I told them that was way too much and they explained this was the OEM price and they needed to use OEM to give the best repair. When they saw me ready to walk, they offered the repair with non OEM parts and that would be $2000. Still being 25% more than the other quote I opted to not have the service done there. They worked up my paper estimate and told me my balance was $89.99. Like wtf? I told them I was told the diagnostic would be free-- and it's literally advertised on their front door as free. Needless to say, they waived the fee, and I had my compressor completed by the other guys for $1499. Lesson learned. read more

I came into USA Auto Service for a squealing noise that only happens when my AC is running in hot weather. To be fair, they did attempt to replicate the conditions, and I chose not to proceed with a full diagnostic at that time because I initially wanted a visual inspection first. After that inspection, I was quoted $1,800 for a compressor replacement by a technician named Gary. What concerned me was the level of confidence in diagnosing the compressor as the issue without a full diagnostic. From what I understand, and based on further research, it's very difficult to definitively determine that a compressor is the cause of a squealing noise without running proper tests under load and evaluating related components like the belt and tensioner. To be clear, I did decline diagnostics initially, but I was still reassured that the compressor was the issue, which didn't feel like a fully supported conclusion. I also looked into pricing, and while compressor replacements can be expensive, most estimates I found for Las Vegas are generally in the $700-$1,200 range (with some variation depending on the vehicle). That makes the $1,800 quote seem on the higher end, especially without a confirmed diagnosis. Part of me speculates if the high quote may partially due to me being a woman, however, I can't confirm this suspicion to be true. I did not move forward with the repair and will be getting a second opinion. I would recommend others ask for a full diagnostic and possibly a second opinion before agreeing to major repairs. After more research I'll be trying Busy Boots for the second opinion, as they have higher yelp ratings. read more

A month later, I went to my Car Dealer and after THEIR inspection and tire rotation. NO PROBLEM WITH THE STRUTS. We all know, if a specific car make service dealer did an inspection and it needed struts, they would have most CERTAINLY would have noticed it, being u p on a rack for tire rotation, knowing their recommendation would be both respected and make the money themselves with OEM's. I would not trust USA Auto service if they told you anything needed Work - they may be taking advantage of people, specifically women who may not know better and recommend work that is not needed. I came in with my 2012 chevy malibu and brought my own engine oil and filter to change out, they informed me it was $25 and they could do the tire rotation for free, plus they told me it would be roughly an hour to get my car in which was fine to me. The employee in charge of my car told me there was a cracked housing for my oil filter and couldnt change it safely without it causing further damage, he was nice enough to offer me a drive in his vehicle to the closest Autozone to get a new one, once we returned and they got the part on, I was on my way home. Great customer service and going that extra mile for the customer is something very rare these days and this location showed they are there for the customer. read more

Do NOT go here, they will scam you I had a horrible experience at USA Auto Service, Fort Apache Rd, and want to warn everyone. On August 18, 2025, I brought in my 2019 Honda HR-V for warning lights. Manager Bob Meyer told me it was my battery and alternator, so I agreed to repairs and was charged $1,409.73. After the fact, I discovered false and misleading notes on my invoice: * It says I declined a tire rotation (I never did). * It says I declined additional repairs (false). * It claims I was "in a hurry" and rushed staff (completely untrue). * It even noted the issue might be bumper damage, but I was told it was only the alternator and battery. For context: I was promised my car would be ready by 10:00 AM. I tried calling before coming, but their phones were down. I arrived at 10:30, was told it would be 10 more minutes, and waited until 11:30. My car sat out front for 20 minutes while Cisco claimed he was "working on the invoice." When I finally said I needed to leave, that's when he accused me of rushing them, yet my car was supposed to be done an hour & a half earlier. After the $1,400 "repairs," my warning lights were still on. The dealership later confirmed the real problem is a bumper sensor and there is no voltage issue, despite Bob telling me to bring it back for one. In short, the repairs I paid for were unnecessary, and my original problem remains. When I confronted Bob, he refused to fix the invoice or issue a refund. The page I signed only had the charges, the misleading notes were not shown until later. This feels deceptive, unethical, and absolutely like a scam. My warning to others: Do NOT trust this shop. Review every single page of your invoice before signing, and know they may add things you never agreed to. I was scammed into paying for something I didn't need, and I don't want anyone else to go through this. I'm out over $1,400, my car still has the same issue, and I was treated dishonestly. Came in a couple of weeks ago needing my ac fixed. Was starting to get warm so I thought now was the time to fix it. I usually go to sun auto, but recently moved back to the area and I saw a sign for ac checkup. The manager was very helpful and responsive on the initial consultation. After it was decided, the job was going to be almost 1k. I thought that was a little high, but it was close and said the part should be in the next day and manager priority for me to get fixed. Job took about a couple hours. I went to arbys which is next door and got some work done. So far haven't had any issues. Other than price seemingly being a touch high, the manager was very good at being responsive and communicating. read more

I came in for a basic oil change and was told they refused to perform it unless I first paid for an engine "desludge" service. I was told my engine could be ruined if I didn't do it immediately, which felt unnecessarily pressure-driven. I understand shops recommending additional services, but refusing a routine oil change unless I agreed to extra work was not acceptable. I was not prepared for additional services that day and clearly declined. I left without getting my oil changed and went elsewhere. I saw a sign on USA Auto, the one on the corner of Twain & Durango Oil Change $20 (now they change it to $10). When I got there they asked the details of my car n told me it would be $40 but I have to wait for 1 hour. I did not have time that day n promised to come back. Then I found a coupon online, I thought with that coupon I can get it less then $40. So I went back there, after waiting for awhile a mechanic came out n asked me to see my car which was high on the support. The mechanic told me a bunch of stuff that need to be fixed which totaled to $3000. I told him I don't have the money n just do the oil change. He said before he can do it he need to flush it which cost me $150. So instead of less than $40, I paid $170 for an oil change. They also has a sign in the office saying if you pay with cash you get a discount. When I asked about it, I was told that if I pay with a card there will be a 3% additional fee. The sign should mention that instead of a discount for cash payment. Before I went for an oil change I have my car checked by a valid mechanic who did not see all the problems USA Auto told me. I also asked around n was told that they won't be able to see if they need to flush before they drain the oil. I will never ever go back there for any service n I do not recommend anyone to go there unless you have too much money you don't need. read more

I thought it was odd because dealership didn't mention it at last service. since then I've taken it to another dealership and my brother (certified mechanic) and both said I don't need new brake pads. I feel they thought I would be an easy target as a woman to upsell me a service I didn't need. I also left with a poor taste after overhearing a technician on the phone brag about overcharging a customer and giving a fake discount. These guys have been phenomenal over the past years as others have said as well. Not sure what changed over the past, management and or new owner. The $7.77 yelp smog special was amazing. Went up for $9.99. Now regular price is $20 or whatever they decide to want to charge you. Brought a brand new vehicle in to smog. They failed it due to an aftermarket device installed by the dealership. Tampering was what they specified. Brought an older vehicle in with no check engine light and they popped the hood to find whatever they could to fail that vehicle as well. Unfortunate their quality of work has gone from amazing to some what scam like. I highly advise bringing in your smog and repairs to another business to save yourself the hassle. read more

First off, I still go here for my smog every year and it never fails me. Turnaround time is usually pretty fast too. This time, I was offered by Tony to replace my serpentine belt. He asked me if my A/C was acting up lately (it was) and that it might be related to that. Gave a pretty reasonable quote that combo'd my smog, an oil change, a fluids flush (cause I didn't refill my oil lol), and the repairs to my belt and a water pump. I usually drive back and forth from LA, which usually means my A/C goes out by the time I hit Baker (cause those hills make my car want to die) and I'll say, for the first time in a long time, the A/C kept going. Of course, it wasn't always cold air, but at least there WAS air. So I'll give you that, Tony: it helped. 4 stars only cause the waiting room times were a little long. Granted, someone was training; however, I was told I could pick up my car right away the following morning, and I ended up having to wait a little over an hour and a half before I could leave with it. So if you're in a rush, maybe call in advance for current wait times. read more

Two compound this terrible situation, I had just spent over $6000 at this shop, how crooked you have to be, to lie and try to screw somebody this BAD. OMG... Where to start... let's make a long story as short as we can. Every time I take my car there something on it is always damaged, broke or missing. These guys are out for the money and that's it! I have a personal mechanic I use and he said this place over charges you for their work. USA wanted almost $1,000 for rear brakes. My mechanic did it for half that. Besides that they force you into getting work done. They said they won't do my oil change anymore until I get it fixed up. Thank God I had the car towed to Range Rover to prove they IN FACT totaled my car . LIES LIES LIES the last time my 2019 Ranger Rover was drivable was the day I dropped it off to them . My car has to be TOWED EVERYWHERE NOW! We've been going to the shop for several years to fix our car, but then we moved out of the area. USA Auto Service were the first to let us know there was a leak coming from the bottom of the engine. Years go by and the leak progressed further to where we can no longer ignore it. We went to a local body shop for an initial inspection and diagnostic, but the cost was much more than we anticipated, over $3K to remove and replace the timing cover gasket, valve cover gasket and oil pan gasket. The next day we went to USA Auto Service for a second opinion, we were introduced to Gary, the Manager there and explained the issue. Without hesitation, Gary already knew the ballpark cost the other repair shop quoted, and said they can do it for $500 less out the door! Amazing! We signed the work order, left the car on a Thursday afternoon and picked it back up on Friday night. Thank you, Gary, and team for saving us so much money. do not leave anything in your car that you value. Do not apply for their credit card through Synchony bank. Out of the blue, some one was trying to increase the credit limit on the card I had opened the first time I went there. I only found this out after the second time I went there. I got a letter from the bank saying my request for a credit limit was denied. BUT I NEVER REQUESTED THIS. Today, I got an email saying I reported the card lost or stolen.....but I did not. So, be very aware there are very shady things going on at this location. read more
