Paid $30 for a gel manicure. I had a great nail service from Annie, but I'm not surprised at some of the negative reviews below. Passion Nails is upstairs/not on the ground level, so if you are driving through Inman Park you need to look up in order to find it. There is street parking but not a lot of it. They are going through some serious renovation right now and it can be very off-putting. It made me feel pretty uncomfortable because of the exposed walls, the hustle and bustle of employees trying to fix the place up, and just general chaos. I had a gel manicure from Annie, who was great. She was very thorough and careful; she showed me her progress and checked with me periodically to make sure I was happy with what she was doing. The process was painless and quick. She also refrained from small talk which I really appreciated (I know some people like it but I hate it!). I don't think everyone here is as great of a nail tech though. I did see one person drop her whole box of tools onto the floor, put them back into the box and then into a drawer, instead of immediately sanitizing them. There are also way too many employees in there just milling around and really took away from the atmosphere. That plus the construction will keep me away for my next manicure. I've been to a lot of different nail salons over the years in different cities and this one just is not on par. The selection is ok and the nail techs I've had have been nice, but the nail polish color or top coat must be old. It warps later that day or even the next day even though I've stayed until fully dry and not worn socks/shoes that day. I went with my two girlfriends and one of them was so late that I had to reschedule twice over a three hour time span. We came in late for the most recently scheduled time and they still took us immediately and I was very thankful for that. Pro: Speedy walk in time Pro: Great leg massage with sugar scrub ($6 extra) and another great massage with the lotion afterwards. Pro: Great color selection Pro: Beautiful inside and relaxing Pro: Cheap starting prices Con: It felt like the ladies were talking badly about us and it became pretty obvious when they would make gross faces and laugh while pointing at our feet. Really loved that... Con: It shouldn't be $5 extra to scrape the bottoms of your feet, that should simply be part of the pedicure, everywhere else I go it is. A pedi is $20, add $6 for sugar scrub and add $5 for the foot scrape. There are a few more pedi options that go up by about $5 each time. Overall, I'm happy with my experience. I hate leaving poor reviews, but I'm just not impressed with my mani pedi results. I got my nails done 4 days ago and the polish is cracking all over. My French tip pedi was very sloppy. Love that they offer complimentary wine, but I asked for white and they gave me red. I went here thinking it was a really great deal $45 for a mani/pedi... But it looks like I got what I paid for. Nothing about this experience was relaxing. I went in for SNS and pedicure and I couldn't even enjoy my pedicure because they had me do my take off in a bowl on my lap, so I had to keep shifting my feet in awkward positions to make sure the bowl did not fall off my lap during my pedicure. I am also unhappy with the end product of my nails. I asked for parking validation, and the woman gave me a ticket but it did not work at the kiosk. I ended up paying another $6.50 on top of $86 for a sub par experience. I called the shop to let her know that the parking validation did not work, and the woman on the phone kept saying "come here just come here" when I had already paid the fee as there were cars behind me. Once I told her I'd already left, she said "okay bye". Unprofessional, won't be coming again. read more

This place was recommended by a friend of mine who used to live in the neighborhood. She used to go and get her nails done. I do my own nails, but I come here to get my eyebrows waxed. It is usually the same lady all the time- so I think their concentration really is the nails and not too many people are qualified to do waxing. Luckily, it usually does not take a long time to get seen. You might have to park a ways away and walk over because there are alot of businesses in the area. I anticipate it getting worse once the Elizabeth St project is finished. They do a good thorough job for a reasonable price. So I keep coming back. read more

Passion Nails is under renovations, as other recent reviewers have mentioned. Temporarily, it is very cramped and a bit chaotic. My expectations when visiting a nail salon like this are not relaxation not a soothing experience. I am there for "maintenance" and to get the task (mani/pedi) done well with efficiency. My pedi was great with Lynn, as was my mani (both basic). I was offered a drink (wine is complimentary). The location is clean and my tools had been sanitary wrapped. There is a nice selection of Essie and OPI colors. Street parking is limited but you can also park in the new public/private lot around the corner for about $3. Passion Nails is next to my hair salon and I was pleased enough to plan another visit. read more

This place is a bit hit or miss. You don't often have to wait very long unless you come on Sunday afternoons. While everyone is friendly, the technicians are a bit hit or miss. I've had some really positive experiences, and I've also come out wondering what the heck just happened. The salon provide all popular nail services (e.g., gel, SNS) in addition to other cosmetic services (e.g., waxing, eyelash extensions). I have only tried the nail services and have been satisfied 75% of the time. My recommendation is to find a technician you like and try to stick with that person to the extent possible. read more

This place is the best. I went to Midtown Nails on Ponce for years but started to get a bad vibe in there that the owner was mean and their service wasn't good anyhow. Passions is great. All the staff are great, although I've only being seeing Stacy for 2 years now, she is my all time favorite (beware and make an appointment with her before going in or you will not get her, she is always booked-- I think that says a lot about her). They are clean, lots of great polishes, gel, waxing etc. They serve wine, beer, water, sodas and are always friendly. Highly recommended! read more

AWESOME NAIL SALON!!! My sister took me here when I was visiting from Cali, and boy was I impressed! I got the mani/pedi combo, and from start to finish my whole experience was amazing! There were SO many good colors(especially OPI) to choose from, and they even brought me a diet coke to drink while I had my pedicure. My nails ended up looking fabulous, and the woman even re-painted three nails (had a small disaster a few minutes after leaving salon) free of charge, and without showing any annoyance either (I mean hey, it was a saturday and busy--I would have been annoyed!). Their services are also totally reasonable--same price as you'd find at other places, but A MILLION TIMES better! My sister also got her eyebrow and lip waxed and they looked great as well! This was my 2nd appointment for SNS nails, the first time went great, this time was terrible. I had a pedi and SNS manicure, the pedicure was great, however the gentleman that did my manicure messed them up so badly. I don't know his name, an older gentleman, different from my first nail tech. He cut 6 of my fingers with his nail grinder, filed the tips unevenly, and spread the SNS powder over my nails onto the skin. I had to peel so much off of my fingers afterwards. They were completely misshapen and looked terrible. He also filed the bed of my nails down to the point where I could feel it on the skin underneath, it will take forever for them to heal. The very next day, one broke off, and another broke off the next day after that. I will be going elsewhere to have them fixed, awful experience. read more

I have been coming here for years, and at first I loved it. They have a great selection of colors, it is a pretty space, and they offer beverages during your service. However, over the past couple of months things have been going downhill-- they have rushed through the services and not done the best job, so I have been considering switching nail salons for a little while. Yesterday sealed the deal, and I will never be returning. I went in to have my gel removed and just get a polish change on my toes and nails. I didn't have time for a full mani/pedi and really didn't feel the need for one since I had just been in a week and a half ago. The technician (I don't know his name, but he was male) immediately seemed angry that I only wanted a polish change. He was extremely rough in everything he did, such that I was wincing in pain the entire time. He started trimming some of the cuticles on my toes, and I asked him to stop because (1) it was very painful and (2) I didn't want my cuticles trimmed (hence the polish change only). Despite my request, he continued stabbing away at my cuticles until he made me bleed. When he went to paint my toes, he did a fine job, but got polish all over my feet which is still there today. Then he turned to my hands. He again started trimming my cuticles and, although I told him it was not necessary numerous times, continued. He was so aggressive and rough that he made 7/10 of my nail beds bleed. I yanked my hands away numerous times and at this point just wanted to get the painting part over with since I had already paid. When he started painting he kept looking around the room and was getting paint everywhere except for my nails. When I asked him to go back and fix the one nail that he had "finished" (only about half of the nail was painted) he just started removing all of my nail polish. At this point (in tears by now) I just grabbed my things and went to the front and asked for my money back. They offered to have another technician do my nails, but at this point my hands were a disaster with blood and smeared nail polish. They did refund my money, but this was such a traumatic experience that I felt compelled to leave this review. Today, my cuticles are red, puffy and extremely painful. I only hope I don't get an infection from this terrible experience. I know that some of the technicians here are very good, but if you choose to go here, be careful!! read more

Never coming back to this place again. i said "JUST a pedicure" and the man decided to tack on extra services without even asking me. and when i went to pay (as i was unaware) he charged me for a service i did not ask for. He didnt get a tip from me needless to say. On top of this, he was very rough with my toes and cuticles. and when my girlfriend went to check out they also tried to charge her for extra services and she caught them doing it. Don't go there. Very unhappy with my experience and the final result. I was ignored for the first few minutes and then rushed the rest of the time. I asked my nail technician to fix a nail and he said he wasn't done yet... never fixed the nail. 7 out of 10 of my nails are uneven in shape. My nails and cuticles hurt. He over-filed the sides of the acrylics filing through where my natural nail would be. Honestly, just want them removed asap. Can't say I'll ever go back. read more

Went here for the first time and I really like the space, staff, and amenities. I thought the selection of colors were pretty big to choose from. I really enjoyed being in the massage chair and the lady who did my nails was very attentive and allowed me to continue massaging throughout the whole pedicure (some places limit me...which I don't need to get into right now) I'm taking away one star from a 5 star experience is because they charge extra for regularly "shine" polishes which is a bit annoying. A lot of other places don't usually charge extra for regular polish. And it was a bit more pricey than the usual nail places. So I would come back, just sparingly. read more

Yesterday was my first experience at Passion Nails - and I have to say this is the only place I will get my nails done. The day prior I had received a horrible mani/pedi from another place off Howell Mill and to say the least - it needed to be re-done. I believe their names were Cam and Bettie, and they did a fantastic job! The chairs were great, the complimentary wine was just what I needed (Hello, Monday). Cam did my gel nails with such great precision and detail and my pedicure looks great! Passion is priced super well for what you get! I will be taking everyone who needs a mani/pedi to Passion. I CANNOT understand why the ratings for Passions Nail's is so high. I've waited a couple weeks to actually dwell on how I would rate this place..giving me time to calm down from my experiences. Total time coming before reviewing: TWICE. Services rendered while here: 2 Deluxe Pedicure, 1 Deluxe Gel Manicure, and a Brow Wax. First Time here: I only got the Deluxe Pedicure..sorta to feel the waters out. It was pleasant. I did my usual Strawberry Margharita. When she was finished, I kindly asked for the quick dry oil because it seems to dry completely through and through. But the lady told me she already put a top dry coat that is quick dry. Ok sure. Maybe this place does things differently. But I've been a consistent manicure and pedicure go-er, religiously going every q2weeks wherever I am living. Went to Saks fifth after my Pedicure and somehow my Tory sandels scratched my polish. I thought to myself.."Oh well it was my fault" But to think about it. They put that quick dry on top! The typical quick dry oil other places I've been to slides anything that may slightly touch my toes right off..neither scratching nor sticking to my new polish. 2nd time: (Going to give another try since my first experience wasn't too bad) Decided to get the Spa Deluxe Pedicure and my usual Gel Manicure. This time switching to my other usual. OPI Bubble Bath. I've gotten this polish numerous times in my hometown (New Orleans) so I know how this should look. Typically my ladies at the places I've gone to know this polish is light. Typically my nails require 3 coats of polish on my Gel Nails. I don't usually have to even ASK!! They just tell me that they will because they can still see the nail bed with just 2 coats. My Gel Experience was a disaster!! I literally put it under the UV light 4-5 times each coat. Base Coat...3 times..Polish color 3 times..and Top final Coat 3 times. Wipe off with special spray...GUESS WHAT?! It was sticky DID NOT DRY!! Polish color started to wrinkle. She just painted over and told me to put under the UV light some more. This time 2 more times. GUESS WHAT?! It did not dry! So she switches to another UV instrument. FINALLY decent enough to leave but it's so wrinkled. To TOP it off...The Bubble Bath was only used for ONE COAT! It's like having NOTHING on! I usually like my nails cut short and never had any problems elsewhere with this request. They literally filed it down so short that my nails bled! I was in pain for a couple of days there after. On to the Pedicure: Of course Bubble Bath only placed with ONE COAT! Like I didn't have anything on. This time I MOST DEFINITELY REQUESTED the quick dry. She placed the oil droplet over my toes. I usually avoid closed toe shoes until the next day when I come back to work. So the next day while at work I noticed that MY POLISHED ON MY NEW PEDICURE WRINKLED!!!! what a waste of my money!!! I literally tipped $10 for my Manicure and another $10 for my pedicure. Tipping $20 for the total service is my usual. Brow Waxed: THE MOST UNCOMFORTABLE EXPERIENCE I EVER HAD IN MY WHOLE LIFETIME!!! The girl's palm was so sweaty I could not breathe. I kept telling her my face is getting so wet. Can you imagine her palm of her hand over your face while tweezing and waxing but it feels damp and sweaty?!?! I just couldn't take it anymore I had to literally sit up for a little bit! It was disgusting. And to TOP It off. I totally despise any nail salon that has it's workers speak in their native tongue. I AM VIETNAMESE. I CAN UNDERSTAND YOU!!! Clients would be disgusted too if they could understand what they are saying about you. But hey to each their own where people choose to go....but for me..NO THANK YOU! My feet still like they are walking on cloud nine, and my toes are very nice looking too! Anastasia and I popped into Passion Nails for a little summer treat. She dabbled in a little mani/pedi action and I took part in a Men's Pedicure. What a little luxury for not a lot of cash. Everyone there is really friendly; plus the offer you something to drink while you are getting your services. The prices are reasonable ($20 for a Man's pedicure) and although they were busy we didn't have to wait. If you guys have never had one step back from the computer now and go get one. It is like God smiling at you and carrying you home...... They start by soaking the feet in a warm soak, followed by cleaning the toe nails, buffing them, exfoliating them, and then ending up with a massage of your feet and calves all the while you are sitting in a vibrating massage chair. Plus, I didn't feel like I was at some "chick joint" The salon was decorated in neutral colors and other men were getting pedicures while I was. All in all, I had a great experience at Passion Nails and would certainly be a repeat customer. read more
