This restaurant had a small town, family owned vibe to it. It is fairly small inside, has a small bar and is hidden away back in the Rockbrook area. The food was okay, nothing exciting or great. We ordered bruschetta and it came with two small pieces of bread so if you are with more than two people, beware. The side salads are just field greens with a small amount of dressing and maybe one tomato if you are lucky. We ordered lemoncellotinis and those were okay but again not the best. The food was decent. The meatballs are good I will give them that! Overall I would say it is just an average restaurant with the prices of finer italian. We were kind of let down by it all. We've been here several times, but will not be going back. Our server was just horrible and the food was mediocre. When we were seated, our waitress only had one other table and the restaurant was barely half full, yet it still took her forever to acknowledge our existence. We pretty much knew what we wanted but she wouldn't take our order until after she'd delivered our beverages, which weren't even alcoholic so shouldn't have taken over 10 minutes to bring to us. We then placed our order, nothing too hard, an angel hair pasta, penne pasta and lasagna. It took another 15 minutes to bring our salads to us. The Caesar barely had any dressing and was not at all satisfying. she then brought us our bread, which consisted of only 3 slices, I guess because there were only 3 of us and they wouldn't want to waste any more on us. We then proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our dinners to come out. Honestly after waiting that long none of us were even hungry anymore. When we asked to be brought the check as our meals were being delivered (since we didn't know when we'd ever see our server again), she was very rude about it. It was also very annoying to have an older gentleman seated by us who put his phone on the table and listed to the Husker game review, much to the disgust of every other table around him. I had a chicken dish that was primarily boiled chicken and a couple vegetables in lemon juice, my girlfriend also had a very disappointing pasta dish. My husband and I LOVE Pasta Amore! It's owned by the chef and his wife and they have used fresh ingredients from there garden for the daily specials. I highly recommend getting one of the daily specials or something more authentic. Don't try to play it safe and just get spaghetti bc spaghetti is boring. Extremely disappointed. We've been wanting to try this place for years and we finally decided to for our 11th anniversary. Made reservations inside (which was super cute) except when we got there they didn't have a table for us and we had to sit outside which we definitely were not dressed for. They had a nice bad so we didn't mind much except for the smell of raw sewage (someone cleaning their septic). They sat us but never gave us menus. We sat there for 10 minutes while waitresses just walked by us. Finally they brought us bread and butter but no drinks. And finally once we received our menus we ordered right away. It took over an hour for our meals which were sub par at best. I'm pretty sure pasta water would've tasted better than what was served on my meal. She finally came over to ask us how our meals were and offered more bread but we were finished by the time she decided to bring it. Our waitress was short with us and could not be bothered. Huge disappointment to find a "COVID" fee added to my tab. When we inquired about it we were honestly told it was a covid fee for the table cloth. Are you serious? We aren't even provided with a table cloth! Unacceptable practice from a long time local establishment. The $2 fee isn't enough to cause a scene over but it sure seemed sneaky of them to add it on without full disclosure before being seated -- not to mention NONE of the staff were even wearing masks to protect against covid in the first place. read more

My husband and I have now eaten here twice. Both times have been superb! The first time I had a vegetarian lasagna that was a special, and the second I ordered off the regular menu. I had leftovers the second time and they reheated nicely. We did get the fried ravioli for an appetizer this trip and they didn't have as much flavor as I would have liked. I guess I am so used to meat filled fried ravioli that cheese filled ones seem to have no flavor. Don't get me wrong, they were still tasty. They were large and delicious. What can I say, I like to experiment. Man, I wanted a cannoli so bad - quick, yelp, where can I get a cannoli? Oh this place is right by me, but look at those mixed reviews... I guess it will be an adventure! Adventures aren't always a success. To begin, we made reservations and arrived promptly. It was nice, so we asked to sit outside, but there were exactly 0 available tables inside that would have been ready in the next 20 minutes, so I'm not sure what the hostess was planning to do if we said we wanted sit inside. No big crisis, but makes me leery of making reservations again and expecting to sit down on time. Next point, my guess is that tables are assigned to wait staff 'round robin' style rather than by section. We were our waitresses only table outside, and the service reflected that fact quite clearly. Our drinks were consistently empty, we saw our waitress for orders and food delivery only. She did take the time to try and make small talk right when she brought the check though. I think we talked about the weather but all I heard was "I know I was a terrible waitress all night, I hope this 30 second investment pays big dividends on my tip". It was transparent and made me want to tip less. On the food. All I can really say is that for the money we spent I would have rather had the $5 buffet at cici's. Between the table we had a sampler plate, ravioli, and cesar salad. All of our food appeared to be the pre-made frozen stuff you get from Sam's club. The ravioli stuffing is some sort of spinach/cheese concoction that was dry and stringy, the cannelloni was mostly shell, and the Cesar dressing appeared to be ranch dressing with some dijon mustard stirred in. This leaves two things we ate uncovered: the lasagna (which got some good reviews here) and the tortellini. The tortellini was adequate, by far the best thing we ate that night but not entirely what I would call 'flavorful'. The lasagna, oh man. It was the worst lasagna I've ever had. It was literally slimy - every single layer of it - which made it all smoosh apart and impossible to eat. I highly suspect it was some kind of Stoffer's knock off that was poorly cooked - the ricotta had an 'mcdonalds egg slab' consistency to it that I've never seen in anything cooked from scratch and the sauce was mostly water - all in all it was terrible. At this point we were considering just not getting cannoli, even though it's the whole reason we came, I mean, we were already $50 deep on food alone and had nothing even remotely satisfactory to show for it, but we soldiered on. When came it was good, not great, but wholly satisfying to a cannoli craving so I guess... mission accomplished? In short, don't ever eat here - but get a cannoli on carryout if you're in the mood and don't want to drive really far. read more

First time going... I ordered the special for that night, shrimp risotto. It literally was minute rice soup. Not creamy, not tasty , not arborio rice...Hell it wasn't even real rice. Very disappointed with my experience. I called at 4:30 to make a 6:30 reservation for 4. Since no one answered, I did as the recording requested and left a message for my reservation. We arrived promptly at 6:30 to a crowded restaurant and they did not have our reservation. After waiting for 15-20 minutes we were seated. We put in our drink and appetizer order and waited. After about 45 minutes, and several apologies from the server, we began noticing that people seated aftwr us, who the wait staff seemed to know, began receiving their entrees. It was our first time here and we were very happy with the atmosphere, service and food. Daniella was our waitress and she was so welcoming. She found it was our first time so she brought out complimentary bruschetta for us. Stopped by on a recent Saturday night. Not a romantic spot if that's what you are looking for. I had not been there in many years and it was just OK. Not much for atmosphere. Just chairs and tables. Pricey for what you get. The Fettuccine Alfredo was very good but at $18 it was a good $4-$5 over priced. The one item that really stood out was the price of the drinks. $8 for a very weak Jack and Coke. $8!!! The highest in all of Omaha. Not going back anytime soon. Everything about Pasta Amore was very good. My wife had the veal marsala and she said it was great. I had the gnocchi and the dish was just like I remembered it. I usually don't write reviews but I decided to leave one because I wish I would've seen a review highlighting such crucial flaws before I made a reservation. I cannot review t food because my party of five didn't even make it to ordering before walking out. For some background, I called about an hour and a half before our indicated reservation time (which was at 6:30). We arrived 15 min early to full inside and 3 UNSAT 5+ person tables on the patio. It was clearly overbooked because the only two tables that sat 5 were filled with people that hadn't even reserved their food. I assumed they were reserved for other parties, but remained empty for the next 30 minutes. After 20 minutes past our reserved time, we finally got our table. Waited another 5 minutes without anyone greeting us. We saw at least 4 different servers (besides the two working the patio)The last straw was probably witnessing couple being sat immediately and then being greeted as they sat. Granted, we were all hungry and had been waiting; not at all the best combination. Afraid we wouldn't actually be able to eat until 8:00, we decided the food was not worth the exceptionally poor service. I don't have a problem with waiting but there is no excuse for overbooking reservations, inconsistent reservation policies (how were people's patio tables held for over an hour while our reservation wasn't even available?), poor service, and oblivious staff. read more

Mediocre, at best. I ordered shrimp scampi over capellini: the crudely chopped garlic was raw, the white wine used in the sauce was not reduced or incorporated at all, the shrimp was over cooked, there were 3 random chunks of russet potatoes and a terrible slice of green bell pepper and a slice of red bell pepper (mostly pepper skin) that they tried to grill (I think). It makes me ill remembering the meal. I would not go back. It was by far the worst place I have experienced in quite some time. I do not recommend it! read more
