We were hoping for so much more. First of all, the sandwiches are pretty basic. We were expecting a real Italian deli. Not really. You get tuna, grilled cheese, caprese (I guess that's Italian), a few other choices. Really only a couple of vegetarian choices. Nothing vegan. And the prices of these sandwiches isn't great either. Secondly, other than the sandwiches there really isn't much to eat here for lunch. yes, they have a selection of prepared salads in their case. Nothing too interesting. We tried a few: sherried beets, kale, snow peas (maybe one other?). Very bland and boring. Metro and Whole Foods both have better prepared salads for a lot less per pound. Thirdly, the shop itself really lacks in interesting items to buy. Most of the advertised pasta is frozen. There really isn't a selection of any imported pasta. We were hoping to buy something like that, but they didn't have much. The prices are incredibly high too. A jar of harissa was $12! We've been to many Italian delis, markets, and pasta shops. This doesn't really qualify. read more

Hot turkey panini sandwich was delish. The pasta, on the other hand, was horrible. We ended up with four different types, including the house pasta. Each one had more than a few noodles that were undercooked or, worse, dried out. Nothing tasted fresh, with a slight sour flavor undercutting the ingredients. The pesto pasta salad was dry and almost bitter. If your name is "Pasta & Co", you'd better at least get that right. Disappointed, as we've been long time customers. There are times where you want a nice sit down meal in a nice restaurant where nothing sounds better than to be wined and dined. Then there are times where you need to grab something quick on the go but without the grease and grime of fast food. That is where Pasta & Co comes in and if only they had a like one BILLION locations planted everywhere which were easily accessible, would I be totally content with life. If I'm in downtown Bellevue or at U-Village for that matter and I have to think of a place to grab a delicious quick bite, you can bet your money on it that I will be moseying into Pasta & Co to get my delicious grub on. EVERYTHING is good here though my favorite and regular order is the Pesto Radiatore with a Rosemary Roll & Butter. That's the best part. I have tried cold salads to hot meals to sandwiches and every single thing is great! Additionally, while you are waiting for your meal to be prepped behind the counter, you can indulge in tasty snacks located at their little stations planted all over which if you're like me, will discover some local, tasty spreads, cheeses, crackers and nuts! Today I had rose lemonade there - deeelish. Like I said, this is truly my go-to place whenever I'm in range of a Pasta & Co around and would love to duplicate these spots in about 858 more areas. For now I'll be content with having a few options at all and will continue to enjoy the yummy food Pasta & Co will continue to make me. read more

This was our favorite spot to grab a quick dinner UNTIL they changed their pricing. We would always get an entree with 2 sides and it would cost us $20+ for 2 people. They used to offer combo meals (meat, seafood, veggie) entrees at fixed prices. However, they removed the combo pricing now and charge your entree and sides by weight. We ended up paying $30+ for both our meals at this take-out joint. If this is a sit-down restaurant where food is made fresh, I can definitely justify paying so much for 2 plates. However, the food is kept in the refrigerator and then warmed up in a microwave when you order. Though the food here delicious without a doubt, I do not think we will return there anytime soon unless they adjust their pricing again. Keep on eating, diners! read more

This place has some AMAZING sandwiches! It's sad to see that this place was practically dead during the lunch rush. If this store were inside Bellevue or Lincoln Square instead of across the street, it would receive a lot more foot traffic. They're a gourmet specialty shop owned by the same company as Beecher's and Maximus/Minimus. They sell dry pastas, olive oils, breads, frozen foods, etc. The part I love is their deli. I highly suggest the "Kathy Griffin" panini or "Ted Danson" sandwich. Both are extremely delicious! So delicious you'll be kicking yourself in the butt for not trying this place sooner. I'm also a huge fan of Beecher's "world's best mac and cheese", so it's nice to know that I don't have to trek all the way down to Pike Place to get some. I highly recommend this place. Great place to go when you: a)want tasty food, but... b)don't want to eat out, and... c)don't want to put much effort into cooking. Also good if you're indecisive about what to eat, the staff will point you in the right direction. Grab a few ingredients or pre-made items, and you're good to go for the night! (Love their brown-bottom meatloaf!) Interesting note, I've started to steer away from their pasta selection (cucina fresca, still good) and order mostly from their pre-made area. If you already have a main course in mind but are at a loss for a side or two, this place will be perfect for you. They're part of the same company as Beechers, and some of the items (such as the mac n' cheese) are availiable both fresh and in their frozen section. ** If you haven't been in awhile, head on back! They've expanded into what used to be an optometrist next door, and it will be interesting to see what kind of goodies they'll fill that space with. read more

The food is great!! But the prices are also amazing. That is what makes me torn about Pasta & Co. They really have some great food. If you don't have time to make dinner, or you want a great lunch to-go, they have some great options. Various pasta salads, vegetables, pastas, sandwiches, desserts, beverages, frozen entrees, etc. I had the Kathy Griffin sandwich the other day and it was crazy good!! It was deli sliced turkey with cheese, tomatoes, and an asiago mayonnaise (I think). Then they warmed it in a panini press. Sooooo good. Go get one. Right now. I was happy with my lunch purchase. The sandwich was amazing. The beet salad, the cauliflower, and the orzo pasta salad with chicken, all good! But the sandwich was almost $10. That just seems like a lot. I will still go there. I ventured out of my usual close-to-work lunch places today after I hit World Market for an errand, and was *mostly* pleasantly surprised by this place. This is one of those places that's a combo store and take-out place, so you can get lunch, fresh pastas, or pre-made dinner entrees and sides that you just heat up. Pros: they carry all manner of Beecher's cheeses. Beecher's is SO good! they have lots of samples out - I tried Beecher's regular and bleu cheese, french onion spread, and some tuna/lemon patties they have lots of fancy imported stuff like sodas + cookies + things the gourmet caramels I got were only 50 cents each! their deli counter has lots of options Cons: the Penne, Smoked Mozzarella & Spinach salad I chose for lunch is way TOO mayonnaise-y. Too bad, it could have been really good if they'd cut about half the mayo out! $15+ for soda and pasta salad is kinda pricey - not something I could do everyday Still, I'd give it another try. Our family loves Pasta & Company. We have been shopping here for over 10 years. All the pasta is super fresh. Soups are great for lunch. We also enjoy there ceased salad dressing and homemade croutons. There romaine lettuce is always fresh too! All there side salads are wonderful.. The lentil and the sautéed vegetables are fabulous. I've been going to the Pasta & Co. in Bellevue for as long as I can remember. I have fond memories of my mom taking me there as a wee one and buying me a breadstick to snack on. This place is definitely something I save as a rare treat. I may stop by here once every four months for lunch because I feel like it's pretty darn expensive for what you get--especially the fresh (uncooked) pasta. I stick to the pasta salads. I love their House Pasta. You know it's good when it's been a staple of the store since its inception over 20 years ago! I'll usually venture and try one other small item when I go there. Last time was the Tabouli With A Kick: obviously your tabouli salad, but with feta cheese and slivers of jalepeño. Very tasty, but gave me a stomach ache because it was so strong. Shopping around and looking at the specialty items is a lot of fun, too! Although there are two small tables outside when the weather is nicer (fits about two people each), don't plan on hanging out to eat. This is primarily a take-out deli, so don't bring a group of your friends expecting to stick around. I love walking through Bellevue Square to the Bellevue Park and having a relaxing picnic when the weather is nice! This is a great place if you want to pick something up to prepare a special gourmet dinner at home or a quick, relatively expensive lunch. Don't come here every week though--it'll burn a hole in your wallet! (I usually walk out with two small pasta salads and another side for $10-$15.) read more

Last week I was enjoying an odd assortment of salads (Kale, Quinoa, something with beans, etc) at Pasta & Co with a couple of colleagues. These guys were discussing their experiences and I brought up meeting the old owner in their prior Redmond Town Center location. I even bought the cookbook. Pasta & Co was acquired by Sugar Mountain, not only retaining its original great quality, but adding even more selection. Anyhow, we were discussing this and the guy at the table next to us introduced himself as the owner. This is the same company which brought real food (beyond Jack in the Box) to Mercer Island in the form of Bennett's. My colleagues both live on the Island and were incredibly grateful. I also am grateful for Beecher's Handmade Cheese and their new airport location which is incredible. All of these (and a few others) are part of the Sugar Mountain family which contributes 1% per year to a Foundation for Kids educating youth on food and preserving an appreciation for food and cooking. I am at a loss as to why the Bellevue crowd rates the restaurant so low. Maybe opening a location on in Santa Monica on Montana St or the Brentwood Country Mart is a better move, given the appreciate for fine food, hand crafted from pure foods with no additives. Seriously, how many restaurants are passionate enough about the topic of food additives to make an effort to educate the young and hopefully everyone enjoying a meal at Pasta & Co. My two favorites at Pasta & Co are chinese vermicelli and pasta con salami. I purchased some chinese vermicelli tonight and the lady preparing my food picked up the pasta with her hands instead of using tongs. Yes, she did have a plastic glove on, but I was still disgusted because that glove touched the door handle that opens and closes the refrigerated case. This doesn't seem like the most hygienic practice when preparing food. read more

It was rainy chilly evening and I wanted some comfort food and carbs of course. As I walked in I was welcomed by a friendly staff. I got 2 half pound pastas and a tomato soup - it was delicious! Very nice remodel - you can now eat there. However, I was very disappointed when I went there tonight. All the samples were empty - take the displays down if you are not going to refill them! There were several items that didn't have the description and price in the case. I decided to try one of their new sandwiches. I ordered and it took minutes to get!! R u serious?? The place was empty except for 3 ladies waiting for their sandwiches - they all ordered the same sandwich and one was about 1/2 the size of the rest, which the girl pointed out stating it was the end of the loaf and then they had to decide who was going to get the small sandwich and they didn't even take a couple $$'s off (tacky)..... I got a small potato/leek soup ($4.99), it was just ok. I got the Richard Lewis Sandwich (the owner obviously loves "Curb Your Enthusiasm" - me, too) which was Beef, Marco Polo Cheese (which I needed a microscope to find), carmelized and pickled onions (very good) on wheat bread. Overall, it was just alright but definitely not worth $13.42. I need to just buy Beecher's Cheese at Costco! or go down to Pike Place and go to Beecher's for the curds and fresh mac-n-cheese. read more

This is a great place to pick up some healthy food made from local ingredients and no artificial flavoring. It's on the pricier side, but the food is good. They have a range of proteins and sides to choose from in the fridge, and they're happy to cut anything to however many pounds you want or split anything in separate containers. We usually come here when we want to get some food for a picnic, so this place is really nice for already-made, healthy food. You can also eat inside where the server will serve you after ordering at the counter. They do have cold and hot sandwiches and soups of the day, which is made on site, so not in the fridge. Also, there are some specialty items that you can purchase such as squid ink pasta and Beecher's cheese. Parking is usually easy to find, and it's never too crowded inside. read more

I thought Pasta & Co. was a very solid and excellent establishment, offering a variety of foods, local goods, and take-home options. It's a semi-deli, serving prepared foods ranging from vegetarian options to classic meatloaf. All of the ingredients, from what I understand, are organic, which I thought was really cool. You can also determine how much you want of everything because it's sold by the lb and is portioned out as you go. I had the Summer Quinoa Salad, which was quinoa with red peppers, green onions, basil, olive oil, and a little lime. It was great. I also had the grilled prawns, which were fantastic. They were large and really really flavorful. Usually grilled prawns or shrimp are a hit or miss, and these were definitely right on the money. I finished my meal off with Apple Crisp, which was awesome. The staff was extremely friendly and personable, and offered us samples of anything they had to offer. The only slight drawback was that it was a little expensive for the serving size. I got 6 prawns and they were roughly $8 alone...but I also am aware there is a global shrimp shortage right now, so it's not exactly surprising. Overall, if I get a chance, I'm definitely going to go back because there were a lot of other items that I would definitely want to try. read more

This is on the basis of a few times getting some fresh pasta to take home and cook, haven't tried the ready made stuff but it all looks good. I have tried a few of the fresh made raviolis, the mushroom one and the chicken (can't remember what else was in it at the moment). Both were very good, and the puttanesca sauce is excellent as well. I think the thing you have to do is treat it as going out, without going out. I think the quality of the food warrants the price, but you will be paying restaurant prices. I would say its more of a special dinner/way to impress someone then an every night kinda thing. Regardless its hard to argue with the quality, and I have yet to be disappointed. The cook book they sell, Northwest Flavor, is also a really solid edition to the library. read more

Pasta & Co is kinda like the homey-er version of a good italian restaurant franchise, but a little bit more expensive. You can even go shopping there! They sell alot of goods like hard pasta, frozen food, canned herbs and more. Actually, this place is less of a sit down restaurant than it is a deli/bakery--which I didn't mind. You can order your food straight from the enclosed glace case where the person working can give you however amount of a particular pasta/entree/soup you would like! It's all priced by weight. I've been to the Pasta & Co at the University Village, and my favorite dish there was the "world's best mac & cheese". I was hoping to grab one at the Bellevue location when I went--sadly they were out of it :( I settled for the Cheese Ravioli Bake (which looked like a lasagna, but whatevs) and the lemon-thyme grilled chicken. Both were heated up for me and I ate it with a glass bottle of Sparkling Apple Juice (lol, cider)! Tasted great! All in all I paid $14 dollars for this lunch which was a little more expensive than I would have liked to pay. Nonetheless, it was good. I probably won't go back everyday (that'd be overkill on my diet AND my wallet) but whenever I'm craving a scrumptious mac & cheese OR a lasagna, I'll just walk on over! read more

I usually come here to eat their a la carte food selections in the display with my friends or to eat their panini sandwiches (love their unique sandwich names too). Not everything I tried here were great, and you are definitely getting reheated dishes if you want them warm. But the food is generally above the average, and I find this place to be a good place to have conversation with friends. There was one time they forgot about the food they were supposed to reheat and give it to us on the table. This particular location expanded and went through a chic revamping, and it's awesome. Spacious, pleasantly cool, plenty of samples to try while you wait, but the best part now is...SANDWICHES! Have you ever tried a Pasta & Co. sandwich? They are seriously out of this world. I highly recommend the Sacco & Venzetti or the Andy Devine. Yes, they are a whopping $10 with tax, but if you're in Bellevue, these highly out-do the Whole Foods "gourmet" sandwiches just a jaunt up the road. The service was also very patient and helpful even when they were about to close! + Sandwich $9.25: I think I got it with salami (I think it's usually with coppa?), mayo, cheese, and lettuce and tomato on a simple crusty bread. The bread was a bit hard...but still filling and good. That cheese...was...amazing...slight salty bite and a bit crumbly yet sliced...I can't describe it. And that cut of salami had just enough fat so it melted but enough spices and meaty substance. - Red Potato Salad with vegetables $8.49/lb.: I got the last bits so it wasn't as fresh, but still ok. Casual place with gourmet taste. I had to go back for more two days after my first lunch at Pasta & Co. The "lemon velvet cake" melts in your mouth and has just the right tang of lemon zest. The prices are outrageous, and the food is definitely not worth it. I went in one evening after work, they were blasting their music, the lady behind me in line asked them to turn it down. I ordered a small slice of blue cheese potatoes n a slice of turkey and a bottle of $2 water, total was $18... Whaaaaat? That's excessive for what it is. I asked them to microwave if for me, but when I went to eat it, it was still cold. The turkey breast slice was tough, and the potatoes werent horrible but cold n hard. So disappointed, for $18 I could've eaten anywhere n been super full n happy. read more

Pros: Food is consistently pretty good, the sandwiches and soups are excellent, and some of the staff are wonderfully helpful people who genuinely care about your experience. Cons: All food from the case is just microwaved so the price can seem a bit high for just reheated deli food, and some of the staff are terrible people who could care less about whether your food is prepared well. Overall: I've been to Pasta & Co over half a dozen times now and whether I leave there feeling great or feeling not-so-awesome seems to be entirely dependent on who is working. Some of the staff here will take care to make sure your dish is cooked thoroughly and in the right ways and will help you if anything is wrong with it or you have any need for some kind of special preparation. Other times, you will get staff that are unresponsive, unhelpful, and totally unwilling to fix things if something is wrong or not at a high quality level. If you can manage to overlook the service inconsistency (If not for that, this would be at least 4 stars), the food is pretty good. As stated above, though, it's mostly just microwaved deli food so set your expectations accordingly. But that said, the sandwiches and soups (The only things not just tossed in a microwave) are fantastic and those alone are 4- or 5-star worthy dishes. And the Kathy Griffin is one of the best sandwiches you will ever taste. read more

I used to love this place, and would certainly go back and try their take-home noodles and sauce again. But because my hubby wanted comfort food, we got two of their take-home chicken pot pies for a family meal ... and, frankly, it was awful. The biscuit crust stayed mushy; the filling was the consistency of a thick canned soup. So disappointed! Take the extra time and go to Costco or the Met Market for a chicken pot pie.
