So... full disclaimer I'm a transplant from NY so you could say I'm somewhat of a pizza snob. I've had pizza all over Baltimore but this is one of the best pizza places I've been to in the city. They are also one of the only spots in the city that make NY style pizza. Pro tip if you don't live in Canton or Towson you probably need to order and pick it up but honestly the pizza is amazing, fresh to order and worth every penny. WOW! What a great experience we had at Pasta Mista. Everything lived up to my expectations and more! We had been thinking on stopping by for a little while to see how the food was and tonight was the night. I got the Chicken Parm and my gf got the Tortellini w/ cream sauce. I loved my dish, but what really brings it home is the approval of my gf. She grew up eating traditional Italian food at home and does not tolerate anything other than the best -- She loved it! I think I will try the pizza next time. Yes, I am already planning my next visit, it is that good! Do not sleep on this place, and don't let the low key feel deter you from stopping by. Best spot in town for some classic pizza. I'm usually a topping gal but I prefer their plain cheese. Their tortellini rosa is really good too. The owner/manager is very nice as well! Only downside was we didn't like their stromboli. We ordered meat, and we received veggie. Still, even if the order was right I think we'd still pass on the Stromboli in the future read more

Pasta Mista is a no frills pizza/pasta place near canton crossing. Not sure why I thought it was like an actual restaurant when I first thought about coming here, but it's not. It's one of those places where you order at the register and then you grab your food when it's ready. The pizza here is delicious, and I love that they have so many different types of pizza! I've gotten the chicken Parmesan, plain cheese, and several others I can't remember, and they're all amazing. They throw it in their oven for about five minutes or so when you order, which makes the crust really crispy and the cheese all melty. I've gotten the pasta before too (I think it was the eggplant Parmesan) and it was fine. Nothing special, but not too bad. Pizza is way better than the pasta in my opinion. I have been eating Pasta Mista for over 18 years now and I have never had a bad pizza! The crust is freshly hand tossed, the pizza sauce is perfect and the flavor of the cheese is superb! I didn't know how to go about with changing my review since my last visit here. I was so unbelievably disappointed by my order (dine-in) that I had to write SOMETHING on Yelp to update the public... Do NOT order soup. It is, without a shred of doubt, canned soup that is the quality/grade of that from a discount/dollar store. I am not exaggerating on this one. I also don't want to go more into details, other than the fact that I was charged $5 for this canned $0.79 soup, because I'm fairly certain every single person has had canned soup before. I didn't want to immediate post on Yelp and opted to call and speak to a manager, but they were not available when I called after getting home. I didn't want to cause a scene inside the venue because it was the start of a busy dinner hour, so I just ate what I could and left. I went online and looked for a way to reach the owner or store manager online (email?) and that was a bust too. So here I leave a public review. I've had good experiences here in general. It's local. The staff are generally very kind. And the pizza is good and homemade (I think!) - but the soup thing had me pretty outraged. In addition, they made it extremely salty (I'm adding the cook added extra seasoning & there was also plenty of dried parsley floating around too...). I've never written this before but I'm really hoping that the owner of Pasta Mista or at least this store's manager does something about this. At the very least, they should stop selling it in general because it's pretty outrageous to sell a bowl of reheated canned discount soup (chicken noodle, split pea, clam chowder, etc...) at $4.95+. I don't want to stop people from going here though because the pizza and pasta offerings are generally good. But there are some things that happened during this last visit (and probably the 2-3 visits here) that made me need to update my last review and reconsider why happens in the back/kitchen and what exactly I'm eating. read more

We had first ordered carry out our first time. Great customer service. The reason for less stars... The food is good but we didn't have a great delivery experience. When it takes 30-40 min for your delivery and they only deliver 50% of the order, there is definitely no way to get that full order even when you call. They just refund. Just had to add the fact that I finally ordered one of the famous Chicken Parms from here last night and I was NOT disappointed. WOO, that thing was fire and I probably inhaled it in about 30 seconds flat. I felt like I was in a haze after I was done and everything was a blur, and I'm okay with that. When I went to Towson, my go-to spot to grab a slice was Pasta Mista. Hands down, Pasta Mista had the best pizza and pasta in the area. When I moved downtown, I figured that I'd have to find a new spot to grab a quick slice of pizza. Fortunately for me, Pasta Mista has another location in Canton that my roommate and I can regularly visit, just like we did in college. My roommate always orders the same two items at Pasta Mista. She starts with a slice of Pizza. The pizza is New York style topped with cheese and red sauce. It may look like nothing special, but this pizza is really delicious. My roommate also ordered French Fries. The fries at Pasta Mista are thin cut and you're served a fairly large portion. The fries are nothing special, but they're a great accompaniment to a slice of pizza. For my meal, I deviated from my standard slice of pizza and went for an order of their Baked Ziti. The portion of baked ziti is fairly large and the pasta is topped with a generous portion of sauce and cheese. It's delicious. The baked ziti is served with a complimentary side of Garlic Bread. The garlic bread is buttery, garlick-y and a perfect side to the pasta. If you're looking for an awesome slice of pizza or some other Italian options, head over to Pasta Mista in Canton, you won't be disappointed. read more

This place provides a great variety of choices, from options such as spaghetti pizza, philly cheese steak pizza, and double layered pizza to chicken parm pasta, calzones/strombolis, and a mix of salad options. The price is great and you'll get your fill, but it's just another decent pizza place. Situated in a small fast food section conveniently arranged for employees/residents in the Harbor East/Fells Point/Canton, Pasta Mista of Brewer's Hill is great for a lunch time option. The customer service here is informal and friendly. Dining space is small yet the structure of the place makes it seem spacious and open (just watch your booty walking past someone's table so as not to get pizza sauce on it). I love the salads here. They are chock full of goods and not just a bunch of old lettuce with tons of core to boot (I HATE lettuce core). In fact, the salads are so satisfying I've left there patting my full belly as if I ate a few slices of their pizza so SCORE for healthful eating with a no-guilt finish. The cheesesteak subs come with great reviews from my friends and, as you can see, the varieties of pizza are plenty. I'm a fan of the Murillo pizza (mushrooms, onions and banana peppers) and I also like the caprese sticks! Very fresh but it's something about the combination of the mozzarella, tomatoes & olive oil that taste like bologna when you are burping for the remainder of the day. TMI yes, but hey I'm forewarning you so that you know to have a couple sticks of gum handy for the next several hours after you eat one. Prices WERE pretty reasonable but after a recent price hike & the salads going up nearly a dollar, I'm going to have to downgrade that statement to a "prices are ok" for lunch but if I were to choose one over the other for the best/healthiest value I'd still recommend the salads. read more

I've eaten in the restaurant, from the food truck and ordered delivery. I've never been disappointed with their selection. My go to order in the restaurant and for delivery is the cheese tortellini with meat sauce. When I go to the food truck the short rib pasta is amazing. The servings are always enough for at least 2 meals. One suggestion would be to add more butter and garlic to the garlic bread, it is rather plain. read more

I love stopping by this casual Italian place for comfort food. My favorites are: -Wings--soooo crispy, and stay crispy after I get home unlike a lot of other restaurants' wings -Mozzarella sticks--honestly the best I've ever had: like the wings they stay SUPER crispy. They're also battered instead of breaded (almost like a beer batter for fish n chips) which is new for me but absolutely delicious -Garlic knots--warm garlicky rolls with plenty of butter. What else is there to say? -Chicken pesto pasta--Not quite sure why they call it pesto, it's more of a creamy red sauce. It's a heavy meal, but when I'm in the mood to eat a bunch of carbs and pass out on the couch for the night this is 100% what I'm getting! Their pizza gets the job done when I have a craving for pizza, but compared to the amazing other options it's slightly lackluster. I've been coming to Pasta Mista for years, though I originally bought my food mainly from the Towson "headquarters" before they expanded. I've always loved their pasta dishes, and thankfully, the Canton location isn't much different from the Towson or Timonium stores - at least, the food isn't. However, the difference in price (a full dollar or more in some cases) is an annoyance - really, I know that people tend to have money in this area, but there's no justification for the price hike, guys. The last time we were here, I ordered my favorite gnocchi napoli (potato dumplings with a tangy, tomato-flavored rose sauce), and my husband had a ginormous slice of chicken ranch pizza, as well as a plate full of pasta bolognese. We were both very full and quite satisfied with ourselves afterward, I can assure you. The atmosphere is fast casual, although there's seating available (it tends to feel less cramped in this location, even though there's really not many more tables than in the Towson store). They do a brisk business here, even so. The pizza has always been fresh and hot - perhaps we're just lucky and catch them at the right time, who knows. I have seen dogs in here, which I'm not real thrilled about. I understand that this area also has a lot of dog owners that like the convenience of being able to take them everywhere and anywhere, but as a consumer, I just don't want animals in restaurants unless they're a service animal - it's a sanitation thing. It's not enough to keep me from coming back, but it is a pet (hah, hah) peeve of mine that I would be remiss not to mention. The air conditioner over the door (I think it's an AC, anyway) tends to be REALLY loud when you enter and exit - it does tend to take away from the "ambiance", what little there is. I'll eat here if I'm in Canton, but I much prefer the Towson store - if for no other reason, it's because the prices are cheaper there. read more
