Went out to dinner on a last-minute decision, and the wait was only 5 minutes for a party of 6 on a Thursday night. Fairly busy inside so that was a plus. Friendly, comfortable atmosphere. Apps, dinners, and drinks were delicious. The bus girl was amazing tipped her separately. Definitely will come back again. The only downfall for me is very hard to get through the doors and from the sidewalks there are drops which I need assistance with and have to go in backward in a wheelchair. Bathrooms are also very hard. Especially on crowded nights. The food though I never have a complaint about.

I cannot believe I have never reviewed Pasta Pane. Our family loves coming here. Tonight, we had appetizers: pizza, arancini, lollipop lamb chops, olives, and zeppoles. Tonight the arancinis were a bit salty for me, but my kid loved them. I really enjoyed the lamb. As always, the service was superb. The decor is perfect for a date, It feels like you are sitting in a garden eatery.

It's been eight years since our last visit to Pasta Pane, and another four years since the visit prior to that one. With the number of times we pass PP each week on our way to Market 32, I'd say the most likely excuse for such infrequent visits is because the parking lot always looks packed. Yesterday's Monday visit confirms the reason for all those cars. The food is very good, the staff are friendly and welcoming, and the team service is excellent. The only negative I'd point out is the closeness of the tables and the level of noise from customer conversations and clanking plates and silverware. Delicious fresh bread was brought to us immediately. Each table has bottles of oil and vinegar, a salt shaker, and a pepper grinder on it. We were offered the option of tap, sparkling or still water and our tap water was refilled as needed. For our more serious beverages my wife chose a glass of the featured red they were offering - Bodegas Breca Garnacha de Fuego ($12). She enjoyed it. I had a Guinness ($8) from the handful of drafts that were offered. It was fresh and enjoyable. We decided to share their Salad Special ($17), which was a very good idea since it was large enough to have been a meal in itself. The salad consisted of arugula, grilled apricot, prosciutto, and fresh mozzarella, dressed with lemon juice and extra virgin olive oil. The greens were fresh, the flavors were a wonderful blend, and the fresh mozzarella was a pleasant change to having goat cheese offered so often. My wife expressed interest in one of the two dishes I was considering, Vitello Sorrentino ($36), so I let her order that one, knowing that I'd still get a taste, and I ordered the Brasato ($36). Her sautéed veal cutlets were layered with eggplant, prosciutto, and mozzarella, simmered in a light mushroom tomato sauce, with a side of roasted potatoes and vegetables. Everything was delicious. My Brasato presentation was so impressively huge looking, I heard customers at an adjacent table asking our server what the dish was. The red wine braised pork was so tender it easily pulled away from the shank bone. The accompanying parsley gremolata, creamy polenta, and additional side of roasted potatoes and vegetables fully complemented the flavorful pork. Both of us decided to take half of our entrées home so we would have room for dessert. Tiramisu ($9) and Crème Brûlée ($10) were our choices along with cups of Cappuccino ($6). My wife thought the custard in the brûlée was a little runny but otherwise quite good. The tiramisu presentation was different than what I'm accustomed to, but the flavor was definitely there. The cappuccino was excellent.

Celebrating our anniversary at Pasta Pane was the right choice. The service was great, friendly and gave suggestions as my husband does not like spicy foods so our server suggested that he order it with no spice. It was perfect for him. I ordered the chicken with sauté spinach (Pollo Pane). Delicious. The breading on the chicken was very flavorful and kept the chicken from drying out. Portions are big but they also offer a half portion which is nice. Another great thing is they order takeout. While we were there at least 20 takeout orders (complete dinner for at least 4 people including the entree's, salad and a loaf of bread ) were picked up. We were pleased with our dinner and will be going back again.

First time here....Fantastic! Bread with oil to the table! Maître d' at the front, greater as you walk in. Low light. Food/Drink: Cooked amazing, plated ver nicely. White cannelloni beans and kale side dish was awesome! Pizza: Of course I had the pizza, and I was not disappointed. Fire roasted, arugula, and prosciutto with a creamy base of cheese. Side of minced garlic and roasted red and I was in heaven. Dinning Area: Pretty large, elegant, area. Bar, booths, high tops and regular tables. Plenty of seating! Prices: Relatively cheap. Personal artisan type pizza, side of cannelloni beans and a alcoholic drink ran me $31.45. Parking: Plenty of space, private lot. Bathrooms: Bathrooms were clean, dim lit, smelled good. Atmosphere: During the weekday lunch rush, it was a huge snow storm so this would normally be unfair. It was still poppin! Staff/Attendants: Staff was excellent, very talkative, very personable, very nice. Checked on me constantly, had my drinks always filled, and made sure my food was out in a good amount of time. Great experiences!!! 10/10

Another friend, Pam, had highly recommended Emma Jayne's Restaurant which is only a couple of traffic lights from Trader Joe's - a perfect location for our trip. The restaurant sits just north of Fred the Butcher (next door, literally) for those who frequent that establishment, on Route 9. There is off-street parking. When we arrived at 12:30 p.m. on a Tuesday, the front parking spaces were full. (Note: there may be parking around back; I didn't check) We thought we might have to wait for a table. Wrong! The restaurant is surprisingly spacious with two large rooms furnished with tables that were thoughtful spaced apart. A photo of an adorable young girl, whom we assumed was the dining establishment's namesake, was on the wall. Let me be sure to mention that the ladies room, which smelled faintly of bleach, was spotless. I mean REALLY clean! About the food ... my friend and I shared an appetizer of Fried Calamari. It was an ample portion (took some home) accompanied by sweet chili sauce - a nice change from typical marinara served at other places. However, the calamari was small and overcooked. As a result, what was presented was a plate of small, overly crisp rings of 90% batter. No squid! For our entrees, Barb chose the Chicken Salad Sandwich. She requested that it be served on a pretzel bun (touted as homemade) for which we were hit with an up-charge of $3.50. The chicken salad had grapes and walnuts in it and Barb liked it very much. The up-charged pretzel roll did not appear to be homemade. Very disappointing. Had she known it would be uninspiring, she would have accepted the brioche roll. Macaroni salad - not very exciting - accompanied the sandwich along with a pickle. I love seafood and was torn between ordering the Fish and Chips (halibut) and Lobster Pot Pie (an appetizer). Our server, Drew, gets a gold star for suggesting the second one when I told him I wasn't a big eater. Apparently, the halibut, while highly recommended, is a sizable portion. The pot pie was superb! The rich, creamy sauce was divine. I couldn't eat it all and will enjoy the rest of it for lunch today. Emma Jayne's menu has something for everyone. Our server, Drew, was informative and attentive. While we may make other food choices (skip the calamari and pretzel bun but keep the pot pie), we will definitely return.

We also placed an order for the Italian Long Hot Peppers ($13.99) before we even thought about what we might choose for entrées. These peppers, stuffed with ricotta, sausage, red pepper, Romano and gorgonzola cheese, are finished with toasted Italian breadcrumbs and a balsamic glaze. They are so memorable that even though our last visit was 2 1/2 years ago we have no problem remembering to order them every time we dine here. Yes, they were as delicious as ever. My wife had a rare craving for steak and chose the 6 oz. Filet Marsala ($25.99) with angel hair and mushrooms. The steak was cooked perfectly to the requested medium-rare, it was tender, and very flavorful. The marsala sauce was also very tasty. My choice from the evening's special menu was the Shrimp Riggies ($24.99). The rigatoni was cooked perfectly as were the bay shrimp. A lightly cheesed sauce adhered nicely to the bell peppers, hot peppers, onions, shrimp, and pasta, adding additional flavor. I probably didn't need to accept the additional parmesan cheese on top when it was offered by our server. It's comforting to know we have such dependably good Italian food so close to home.

I am looking for a location that sells a good variety of slices, has sit-down tables which you actually want to sit in (no rocking tables and dirty floors for me), and has friendly staff. We recently came here again while in the area and I rediscovered it. It is definitely the best... bar none. They expanded next door into a location previously used by H&R Block, and the increased dining space is wonderful. The variety of slices they had at lunch is staggering, and not just the usual suspects either. They had eggplant lasagna pizza; chicken Fra Diavolo pizza with hot peppers (yum!); mac & cheese pizza with or without Buffalo chicken; salad pizza; etc. All looked good, and my Fra Diavolo pizza has become my favorite here. Of note: their Hawaiian pizza is a white pizza (no sauce), which is extremely unusual, but they provided a cup of sauce on the side which restored balance to the galaxy. I should point out that every Italian restaurant has their own style of red sauce: some are too acidic, some are too salty, some are too heavy with dried herbs, and some don't use enough. This place has a sauce which is similar to my Grandmas (the best!), and it is salty and acidic and oily and delicious. I could see myself parking in a chair one afternoon with a good book and slowly trying slice after slice. Since we live only about 20 minutes away, I think I will need to make the trek up to here more often.

Yesterday for lunch I grab a…read moreslice of 2 Coming in hot with a 3.5-star rating, this spot almost hits that elite tier--but there are a few things holding it back from greatness. First off, presentation and crust game? Solid. You're getting a good bake, decent structure, and slices that hold their own. Not floppy, not overly stiff right in that respectable middle lane. That's a win. Now let's talk about the sauce... because this is where things get mixed. Taking a look at some of the chatter on Yelp, there's a noticeable trend and I've got to agree. The sauce is inconsistent. Some bites hit with a nice tang and balance, but others feel either a little too sweet or lacking depth. It doesn't always punch through the cheese like you want it to. For a place trying to compete in the pizza game, sauce consistency is everything--and right now, it's just not elite. Cheese and toppings are good--not mind-blowing, but definitely respectable. No complaints there. Quality is there, just not standout.

The Bourbon and PB & J were too sweet for my taste, but they were enjoyed by others. Boneless Wings were typical fare. Wow! Breaded Wings are minimum of Five Stars! Delicious! There's some buzz around their upside-down/COB-style pizza, and on paper, it should hit. But execution? That's where things fall apart. Crust comes out too thick and bready, lacking that crisp bite you expect. It feels more like filler than foundation. When you pick up a slice, it just doesn't have that structure or snap. Now the big issue the sauce. You guys know I'm a sauce snob. It leans heavy, overly sweet, and kind of flat. Instead of elevating the slice, it overwhelms it. You don't get that balanced, tangy tomato flavor just a one-note layer that sits on top of everything. Cheese and overall bake? Inconsistent. Some areas overcooked, others just sitting there. It doesn't come together as one cohesive slice. Even looking at Yelp (around that 3.3 range), it lines up this is a spot people want to like, but the consistency and quality just aren't there.
