Chicken Cutlet red peppers & sharp provolone Sandwich

I had heard good things about this place so when I was in the area I stopped in to try it. We got a hot roast beef sandwich and a chicken cutlet with roasted and sharp provolone sandwich and it was really good but not enough meat. The chicken cutlet sand which had 1 cutlet and maybe a 1/4 of a piece on each side. Not sure if that was an accident but would probably try again. The staff are very nice.

Great deli in South Philly. I found it via an Instagram user named The Godfather of Meat who did a review. I went with the fried chicken cutlet with mozzarella, broccoli rabe and balsamic drizzle. It was delish. I grabbed a side of tortellini salad. Again, it was delicious. The place is tucked away in a strip mall and could be a little difficult to find. It's near the stadiums (Phillies, Eagles, Flyers) so you can pick up hero's (hoagies) and tailgate.

I got the cheesesteak rice ball and cheesesteak raviolis. Everybody loves this place so I am going to complain. 1. I love bread pudding. They had a handmade sign; 'New Item!! Homemade Bread Pudding.' I got very excited and ordered the Bread pudding. They were sold out!! 2. I didn't see my picture on the wall of fame. The Phanatic is on there twice. Granted we all love the Phanatic. But come on. Two of him/her/it and none of me?!?!? 3. I was racially profiled. They knew I wasn't a south Philly Italian and gave me ketchup with my raviolis. I felt like Henry Hill at the end of Goodfellas, I'm a nobody. -sidebar- The raviolis were undercooked but that is okay. I found a new way to cook them. 1 minute in the microwave and 3 minutes in the Air Fryer. Video of air fried raviolis at end of review video. It was my 1st rice ball. I liked it. The raviolis (minus the ketchup) were very good.

I celebrated national hoagie day with an Italian hoagie from Pastificio. This hoagie was made by a true craftsman. The perfect ratio of cheese to meats to lettuce to oil to roll that made each bite literally the perfect bite. It was very easy to eat and not messy. I can't give it 5 stars because of the roll. It was not up to the standards of the rest of the hoagie. I'll definitely order from Pastificio again, and maybe if I get a really fresh roll I will bump this up to 5 stars.

Do you need a good Italian deli in your life? Check this place out. We had just spent the week eating our faces off in Philly so needed a good lunch salad to give ourselves a break. And they delivered. Fresh veggies, and just a little antipasti to make it substantial. It was a great salad to split. Even the redwing blackbird in FDR park wanted in on the action. The sandwiches they were making for hungrier customers looked tempting - I would have gotten one for a picnic or lunch on the road any other day. The deli selection was enticing, but it was all the fresh pasta that was making me dizzy. Oh - and if you even need to send someone a food basket, this is the place to get it from. Don't mess about with dreadful muffin baskets. Be generous!

This is the best sandwich/hoagie I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Bread and meats and cheese is fresh and very flavorful. Mwah!

Great deli/market on Packer tucked into an unassuming strip mall. Pictures do it justice. Plenty of options to choose from, and service is quick. Very limited outdoor seating only.

Ordered the cobb salad and I was thoroughly surprised with how much chicken they added! Usually salads skimp on the meat but this one was full of it! It was almost too much meat, but I'm not complaining! I would've given a 5 star review for the salad, but the waffle fries were low key inedible! So disappointing! They were soooo hard! Not sure if they were such old fries or they became that hard during a short delivery.

Philly loves their hoagies so I knew I had to try some this time around, since I forgot to on my last Philly trip. Unfortunately I was not impressed with the Italian hoagie that I had ordered here at Pastificio. First it took forever to actually make the hoagie, especially with no one in line prior to us ordering. It's likes they were making phone orders instead and had us waiting for a real long time. Once we got our order in, we dug right in. The bread was kind of hard to bite into and thought it would at least be fresh and warm. Also, the meat to bread ratio was 1:4. Way too much bread and not enough meat and cheese. It did taste good and did end up filling me up, but mostly because of the bread. I hate to say it, but I may have tasted better Italian hoagies at a couple of national sandwich chains. Don't think I'll be returning here for a hoagie.

I ordered the Classic Italian Hoagie. The bread was to thick and tough. It dominated the hoagie. The ingredients were fresh and seemed fine. But the bread overtook everything.

I wish I could find a deli like this one in Atlanta. Sandwiches are DELICIOUS!!! Meatballs are DELICIOUS!!! Tortellini salad is DELICIOUS!!! They have fresh bread, pretty decent cheese selection, oils/vinegars, olives, etc. I wanted to try everything. The service was fast and friendly. You can call and order ahead if needed because they appear to get busy. Limited seating - two small tables outside. I will be back next time I'm in Philly.

Know it's trite but literally the best cheesesteak I've ever had! For a surprising reason however:…read morethe bread! Food: 5. Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Cost to worth it rating: 3 Opentableable: no reservations Return worthiness: yes! Eve awards best cheesesteak of my life--still thinking about it Highlights: - The bread: a soft long roll with sesame seeds was a delight I didn't see coming. - Meat: was lightly seasoned but kept its pure flavor. Most cheesesteaks have such bland meat so this did it right - Cheese: melty coopers cheese was perfectly mixed in. - Onions: just the right soloing if grilled onions mixed in to complement the meat but not overwhelm it. - Size: monstrous! You can easily share (but you may not want to). - Fairly efficient: even with long lines, put your phone number in the kiosk, can pay with credit card, and wait til you are texted to pick it up. - For the whole family: my cranky teen son said it's the best thing he ate on our 23 day summer East Coast trip (including lots of great dining spots around Philly and NYC). Lowlights: - Waits can be long and brutal in heat. We got lucky with a shorter line. - No seating: just an ordering counter inside so many are eating out on the sidewalk.

Fast forward 12 years, and now its Antonio's Deli...let me tell you something......still AMAZING! My Brother and I came here for a breakfast hoagie. We got an Olde Italian to split since we were going to Reading Terminal Market right after. How was the hoagie? Delicious! The Olde Italian comes on the best bread in the land IMO (Sarcones...seeded roll...you just cant beat it!). So crusty and great texture. This sandwich had all the goodies on it including proscuitto, capicola and sopressata. They use a crumbled sharp provolone cheese here (think blue cheese crumbles, but sharp provolone!) that is so freaking good! The veggies include roasted red peppers, lettuce tomato and onion. They top it with some olive oil and seasonings. Hoagie perfection! This was my favorite sandwich that I ate in Philadelphia and my favorite sandwich on my 1 week trip back East! I LOVED IT. If you are in Philadelphia and want the best hoagie around, come here! I can't wait to go back to Philadelphia one of these years and try out some more of their sandwiches. Just perfect! They serve you fresh waster (Drinks to order include Hanks, Boylan's, Harney and Sons, Teas etc.) and will serve you at the table or you can walk up and order at the counter. Their menu has a great mix of deli, steak, "chicken" steak, meatball, sausage and cutlet sandwiches with interesting flavor combos. You can also get breakfast (till 11AM) or a salad. They also have sides that include - tots, fried pickle chips, onion rings, fries, fried mozzarella and Zayda's pickle spears, chips and cherry pepper shooters. They have a couple of vegan options and GF rolls for extra $$. The staff was more than happy to give recommendations and their favs. My first lunch was The Eye - $15 Ribeye steak, Cooper Sharp American, fried onions came on a seeded Liscio's roll. If you enjoy the somewhat newer Cooper sharp style that's out there you'll like theirs. The Cooper sharp was gooey, mixed in well with the meat and on the heavier side. The ribeye was thin cut, delicious and the portion was pretty hefty. Second visit I went with - The Nad - $15 Chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, Mike's Hot Honey that came on an unseeded Liscio's roll. The portion size was good, chicken was fresh with good breading, the hot honey was a tad on the heavy side, but the flavors all came together pretty good on this one. Sweet, salty, light bitterness from the arugula and some heat from the hot honey. I added Thin Cut Idaho fries to make it a combo for $3 extra and I have to say they were delicious. They smelled like McD's and tasted similar. They are cash only, but have an ATM on site. You can use a card if you order online. The one bathroom they have was pretty clean and organized. I will certainly stop back for a visit if I'm in the area to try out more of their menu. Thanks guys!
