I am so glad to find such an amazing bakery so close to home!! The chocolate chip cookies are so yummy ESPECIALLY straight out of the oven. The owner and pastry chef, Efua, is a very sweet lady who made the cookie last minute for me just because I was craving them so badly. She is very very accommodating and you can tell she has a passion for what she does and a genuine appreciation for all of her customers. She will take the time to guide you through what all of the pastries are and see you out the door with a "Have a blessed day" every time you visit. Besides the chocolate chip cookies, my favorites are the tiramisu which has a very strong rum taste like any good tiramisu should, the carrot cake, and Italian creme cake. Hard work goes into making each bite taste like an explosion of sugary heaven that will surely make a spoonful of sugar go down. Once the cookies, danishes, cinnamon rolls, and lobster tails hit the shelf, you have about an hour before they will be sold out. The cakes offer more slices so you have a little bit more time to try them and they too are explosion of flavor. Efua (pronounced Ef-wah) is the sweetest lady! As soon as I walked into the shop I was blown away by the heavenly smell! She has a variety of pastries from croissants and cookies to scones and cheesecakes. Everything looked so great, and I wanted to sample a bit of everything, so I got one tiny lobster shaped Nutella filled croissant, one heart shaped orange and cranberry scone and the best chocolate chip cookie I've ever had. All 3 of us these items were only $7! I would've spent $10 for one small cake at nothing bundt cake which was where I was headed before yelp showed me this little gem! The croissant was flaky, soft, chewy and buttery and the Nutella was whipped and light so it paired well with the crispy texture. Saw the place when i came to the restaurant next door. I decided to check the place online apparently they had good reviews. I went inside and asked for a slice of a strawberry cheesecake and this lady wanted to sell me the whole thing. I told her that this is was my first time there so i just wanted to try it. Then i just toke the piece and wanted to leave the place because the lady has a really bad english accent , that didn't really bothered me . What really bothered me was that on my way out i saw that they a Keurig coffee machine that said complimentary coffee. Well just when i was ready to pour me a cup , she comes to me and says that is off and that it was going to take a long time to get ready in a tone like saying do not . Read the reviews, then immediately left the house for our first visit--and at noon on a Saturday, their 11a opening cookies and pastries were generally gone! But, they offered free coffee/tea while we waited for them to package up our fresh choices. Five desserts plus one whole raspberry lemon torte later, we left the business, ready to entertain our guests. Within a half-hour of returning home, we'd sampled the coconut creme pie, chocolate truffle cheesecake, apple caramel cake, and red velvet cake. Went there because of the yelp reviews. Well worth it. We got scones right out of the oven. Had them the next morning and they were wonderful. Got the red velvet cinnamon roll and the regular. Liked the regular a little more. Also got the chocolate chip cookies. Really good quality over all and the owner is just a sweetheart. We went around 5 pm on a Friday and they had very few cookies and cup cakes left. But they did have cakes still. The quality is well worth the price. But if you are going to expect grocery store prices this is not the place for you. read more
