I'd heard of this place over the years but had never made it over. My gal last week wanted to ditch out on the gym after work and do a happy hour. I agreed that sounded like an excellent idea. Patio Tapas and Beer was supposed to have a good happy hour 5pm-7pm so we went with that. Its located in a tough spot to get a parking spot in South Mizner area, but we got lucky and landed a spot right by the front door. They had just moved to this new location from nearby a few months ago. It still felt kinda new inside in a good way. There wasn't many people there when we arrived. We were able to easily get a couple spots at their nice oaken bar. There were a handful of friendly staff there that were quick with some wine and some of their happy hour Montaditos. We tried the sangria as well which they had a large container of on the bar. We tried the potatoes, duck breast, shrimp, and Jamon iberico and manchego. Everything was darn good, the iberico possibly the best. Oh, and the Spanish omelet was a nice bite as well. It was a nice happy hour; much better than going to the gym. We will have to stop in again soon. They had alot of different plates to try. read more

This is a great spot to enjoy some Spanish tapas and a drink, especially Sangria. This has been a Boca Raton staple for quite a while and they have a new location with better indoor and bar seating. They still have patio seating, which is smaller but slightly better views. Service is always good, attentive, and helpful. We usually come for happy hour to take advantage of their large menu of montaditos. I think they're all pretty good but our favorites are the piquillo relleno--a small, whole stuffed red pepper with goat cheese, the classic pan con tomate, churrasco, and cordero estofado. I would say those are the most flavorful ones and on our regular rotation. They also have an almond cake we always order that is imported from Spain. Served warm and à la mode, it has a little crusty edge and a very moist, dense crumb. Not too sweet. Sometimes they serve it drizzled with chocolate and I prefer it without. read more

First time there, sat at bar. Cozy. My male waiter (didn't get his name, young guy) was sooo sweet. I just stopped in for a quick happy hour snack while walking by. I had a sangria which they made there. Very good. And then two tapas- the skirt steak, which was awesome. The sauce made it and then the salmon which was good, but I would definitely get the steak again and then try something else next time. Half our menu said $3.90 for each, but I was charged $3 which I think is a good price for what you get. Most people would probably want three or four. Same great food in an excellent newer, larger location. One of our favorite local spots for outstanding Spanish tapas. We definitely have our favorites. I always order the Patatas Bravas, with perfectly cooked potatoes topped with creamy red and white sauces. The fresh anchovies, coated in oil and lemon and neatly lined up on the plate, are another must-order. It's always fun to try a variety of croquettes, which are served with small slices of bread and different mouth-watering toppings like duck breast , beef, or pork. My husband always orders the chicken croquetas, which are creamy on the inside with a perfect light and crunchy exterior. The grilled octopus is also very good. The cuisine reflects influences from all over Spain rather than focusing on one specific region. And of course, no Spanish meal is complete without great drinks. They offer good Spanish wines, house-made sangria, and cold Estrella Damm beer (I prefer the Barcelona version over the Galicia one, both are available). There's also a full bar. Save room for dessert. Most desserts are made in-house, and they are absolutely worth it. The Basque-style cheesecake is divine and a standout, it's rich, creamy, and not overly sweet. It alone is reason enough to plan ahead and leave space at the end of the meal. There is ample indoor and outdoor seating, and on some nights a singer entertains diners outside. The interior is nicely decorated with subtle Spanish touches throughout. A parking lot is available, though parking can be a bit crowded and challenging during peak season. Happy Hour is served Tuesday through Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with great drink and tapas specials, providing an excellent time to sample favorites or try something new. read more

Opened this new location last week and stopped in for happy hour tapas. Upon entering, my eyes were laser focused at the bar sporting a clear mega jug of fresh Sangria with the saturated orange wedges floating on top. Sat at the bar and the bartender told us that for happy hour the Sangria was only $3.50 per glass and all tapas were $2.50 each. Ordered the Sangria with the Churrasco and Piquillo Relleno tapas. The fresh Sangria was sweet and strong but the tapas made my taste buds dance. If I was not going to dinner in an hour I would have tried every tapas on the menu. They were absolutely a blast of mediterranean flavors. The hallway to the bathrooms were colorful and produced a feeling of old Spain with greenery and roses hanging from the ceiling (see pic). The gender assigned bathroom was clean with a classic theme of green walls and gold accents on the mirror, faucet and handicap bars. Let's start with the ambiance. Beautiful evening in Boca. We were seated outside as requested. Beautilfully lit with string lights and individual table top LED lights that allowed you to read the menu but keep the vibe. We ordered a bottle of Malbec wine(great pricing for the wine) to share and the live musician started to play and it really set the mood. Tapas is our favorite way of eating. Lots of small plates allow you to try many things. We ordered the mantaditos in a few selections Jamon iberico and manchego, Cordero estafado(lamb), Gamba(shrimp) Foie Gras, and the Spanish tortilla. We came in here for a quick snack and wow I was impressed at how delicious it was!!!! On Sundays they have 2 for 1 sangrias so we tried that. It was delicious! Had a hint of nutmeg (I think) which was an interesting touch. It was too hot outside to enjoy the patio, but the outdoor area has a lot of tables. The indoor area is pretty small, just a small bar and a couple little tables. The server was so helpful at explaining the menu and made some great recommendations. Very good tapas. The sangria is just ok. The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is due to the happy hour ending at exactly 7pm with no notification or any of the servers letting us know. We had been seated at 6 and were eating and drinking for an hour and one minute. When we tried to order more at 7:01 we could only order of the regular dinner menu as the server's handheld device would not allow them to order from the happy hour menu. Went for the tapas options. The food items were well prepared but quite small even considering it was tapas. Prices were a bit high considering what the size was but again it's tapas. The staff also wouldn't leave us alone about ordering more, probably 5-6 times different staff came over to ask. Maybe that was just oversight Also on the negative side, after I asked for the check, the server attempted to remove a 1/4 full sangria from the table but it was retrieved from her hand All in all they are trying hard and deserve a shot. The food was all good, but being from Miami, and visiting real Spanish restaurants the food was a 3-4 Stars. Another hidden gem in Boca tucked away past all the madness. Menu is somewhat limited (don't expect giant paellas here) but they have an array of tapas ranging from pork belly to duck to even Foie gras. If you're debating between what to get, you're better off getting one of each on the "Raciones" section rather than settling for one type of protein under the sandwiches section.
