Amazing service and amazing food! Highly recommend this place. The ambiance is awesome. Owners are very friendly.

We were craving Venezuelan food so bad while visiting the area and this was the perfect place to stop at. When you walk inside of Gusticos, you instantly feel like you're in a little store in Venezuela. Looking around, the smells, products, "chucherias". They're all a staple of the flavors of Venezuela. Gusticos Bistro is husband and wife owned and they were a pleasure to chat with. They work so hard and truly deserve all the small business love. We ordered the arepa vegana, mandocas and a cachapa with a maltin polar malta to share. My favorite thing here is that they bring you little fried mini arepitas with nata as a little something to share. This already makes the whole experience so awesome. The arepa was gigantic and super filled and of course almost impossible to eat without making a mess haha but we loved it. The cachapa was delicious, sweet and savory. The mandocas were pretty good too but I will have to say my grandmas are my grandma's hehe. They have a wide selection of just about any and all of the Venezuelan antojitos you can want. From tequeños to empanadas, cachitos to tostones, this place has everything that brings you back to Venezuela. This is literally a hidden gem! I would have never known this place existed if it wasn't for my Venezuelan friends! I have heard about it a handful of times and finally decided to check them out. The place is located in a plaza right next to a church and a big restaurant (I think the restaurant is called muddy waters?) but it's a cozy bakery type place, with outside sitting and Venezuelan decor inside. The staff is super friendly, both owners were working when I came in and they were so welcoming! I ordered a cachapa and a papelon con limon. My cachapa was very filling, I had to save the other half of it for later! Very tasty and delicious, I ordered it with queso de mano and shredded pork! I also shared some of it with my daughter and she absolutely loved it!! I'm definitely going back and I highly recommend it!! read more

We decided to go back to our roots, eat some venezuelan made food from SCRATCH. The owners were there and were really welcoming Food was awesome, cant complain. Maybe more nata but my preference. Mandocas do have Anis so it has a really strong taste. The spot has some nice things to buy from homeland. Will be back! read more

As a venezuelan, loved the vine of the place and all the little trinkets they had which reminded me of home. We went with a group of four and got the mandocas and venezuelan sampler platter. It was the perfect amount of food. The owners came by and talked to us which made us feel heard and cared by. Definitely will recommend this place to any latin food lover read more

Wow ! Amazing spot ! This is a hidden gem located in Deerfield. My partner was waiting in line over at the tag agency so I decided to grab us some food while we wait and I was greeted by the owners a very sweet couple who used to have their very own cow farm back in Venezuela ! They cooked up some fresh empanadas for us and while I waited we chatted and they even let me try out their braided cheese that's made daily ! It was delicious! 10/10 the empanadas were amazing! The restaurant has a really vibe-y atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor (under the plaza awning) seating. The waitress served us from outside which was a pleasant surprise, as I thought we'd have to order inside before transiting back out. We sat inside which was decorated so cute, but the offer outdoor seating as well. I've been craving an arepa for quite some time now, so I was happy to see Gusticos Bistro in a shopping plaza near my home. The atmosphere is simple but elegant and relaxed, and I was warmly greeted by Rosalina, my server. I found exactly what I wanted, an arepa with chicken and a mixture of white cheeses. It was perfectly prepared, and very tasty! The flan was homemade, authentic, and also quite delicious. (I don't understand what the price level shows as '$$$$', the prices are very reasonable & I think '$$$' would be more accurate.) I highly recommend Gusticos Bistro. My mom is from Venezuela so I grew up with arepas, tequenos and all of that good food. This place is delicious and authentic. I've been here twice so far and have loved the food each time. It's a small business and the owners are awesome. Very friendly folks. I ordered: Tequenos - Some of the best tequenos I've had in a while. (they are kind of like cheese sticks but doughier and more delicious). They came with a garlic cilantro dipping sauce. Arepa pabellon - So GOOD. This arepa has all of the ingredients of the national dish of Venezuela; Shredded beef, black beans, fried sweet plantains and an obscene abundance of grated cheese. Very messy but worth every bite. 10/10. The only downside is the food comes out SCORCHING HOT. I had to let my food cool down for about 10 minutes before I took a bite. No big deal to me, better hot than cold. Would be perfect if the food were not as hot though. They also sell traditional Venezuelan snacks like torontos and cocosettes. These can be difficult to find at most supermarkets so it's nice to see them in stock here. They also have freshly made traditional Venezuelan cheeses. I got a block of palmizulia and it tastes extremely authentic! It's an awesome place overall. I look forward to exploring more of their menu.. I'll try their reina pepiada and cachapas next. My hubby and I stopped in for an Arupa. When we got here the owner was so sweet and attentive, she gave us different foods to try. The Tequenos were so yummy! The peloton de carne & Beef Arupa were Amazing! We wanted to try everything but our belly's were full. We did get a beef empanada to go. So definitely coming back to try more! Has potential. We walked in, sat ourselves, no one came to our table for a good solid 5 minutes. I was about to walk out. We were so hungry though that we almost couldn't leave. Mind you, there are only 3 or tables inside and about 5 or 6 outside. There were 5 people working there. Slow service. Our server, once she came, attended us, but then left on break halfway through our meal. At the end we had to stand up and make a line to pay. The food was ok. The place was clean. Honestly I dont know why I hadn't found this place before. Incredible, amazing and more than far beyond this is the place to eat cheap and get a nice meal Venezuelan gastronomy all over and even get yourself some stuff to go to your house. I had a diet coke and a wonderful Reina pepiada (basically avocado and pulled chicken with sauce) and cheese Cachapa (which is corn with milk like a tortilla). The flavor, the season and everything was just amazing and delicious. Most importantly paid 11 dollars (tax included) with everything I got. The customer service was extremely good. They always helped me with the recommendations and let me try without even asking the cheese and what they had. Venezuelans are such friendly and humble persons, even the owner was totally gentle and very friendly with a brilliant smile. We latinos rock. The restaurant was comfy, detailed cleaned and super nice for a date. They offer both inside and outside dine in which is great.
