Although I have shopped at Michael's, Big Lots, Radio Shack, and eaten at the Taco Shop many times, somehow I have never eaten at Patogh. Well today was the day to remedy that. I was tempted to order a sandwich, but I surmised that wouldn't be representative of their offerings. So I ordered the Koobideh Kabob with lamb/beef. It took a little while for our food to arrive, but it was worth it. I took my first bite of the kabob. Ooh, that's good. No wait, it's outstanding! I had a kabob left over and I made sure I took it home with me. It was almost as good the next day. There wasn't as much saffron rice on my white rice like I saw in the pictures on their website. I love saffron rice, and was hoping for more. Yes, I know saffron is expensive. The hummus was pretty good. But I was hoping it would have been a little thicker. We had ice cream for dessert. It was so good. Our server told us that they make their own ice cream. Needless to say, we did not leave hungry. I don't know why this place was empty during our entire meal. The food and service were excellent! Our server checked on us and refilled our drink glasses as we repeatedly emptied them. The restroom was clean. I loved the painting of San Francisco on the wall. I tried a lamb kabob sandwich later, but it was nowhere near as good as the Koobideh Kabob. read more

I was told about this place by an Assyrian friend of mine. The food is amazing and the service was very friendly. It really felt like having food at our Assyrian friends' house. The owner ( and the Chef) was very humble and made us feel very good with his broken English. It was a great experience for a very decent price. it cost about $52 to feed our family of 4 and I ate a lot of different stuff never had before. Who knew there were so many different shish kebobs; We have to go back many times to go through that simple yet fulfilling menu. We will be back again. read more

Excellent Persian food! Being a veggie lover, I especially liked the the roasted pepper that comes with most dishes as it helps add an extra bit of flavor. I appreciated that they had beef chunks as I prefer the texture compared to Koobideh (which is far more common in Persian restaurants). The only "negative" thing I have to say about this place is that I wish they were open past 8PM! I also liked their version of baklava as it was the right amount of sweet and buttery...I've had baklava in other places that has been either too sweet or too buttery (or both). read more

We live in Sacramento and were in the area and went there for lunch , we were 3 couples . Apparently this family is the new owner . The service was great and they were super friendly . The food was excellent and very authentic. Their prices are very fair . We all wished we were living here so we can go there more often but if we are in the area we will definitely go there and we all recommend you give it a try ! You will love it . Ps. Last week, on our way to Yosemite park from San Francisco, we stopped by the Patogh restaurant for lunch- we had Ghorme Sabzi and Chicken Kabab + koubideh combo. Both dishes were great and very tasty-- also staff were very pleasant. We did the same on our way back from the park and ordered the same two dishes. Again, very delicious, home-made taste. I never eat kabab Koubideh but this was the first time I enjoyed eating it. This is a great place to have Persian food. read more

My husband and I had lunch here today. We ate the Kashke Bademjan for appetizer, and shared the Chicken Combo entree, drinking Stella and Corona. This restaurant is beautiful in every way! Extremely delicious family recipes, gorgeous and refreshing atmosphere with green plants and open space. For several times I've took my guests to their restaurant, but anytime in advance before we go there I've called and requested to having good service. And every time they surprise me more, with very nice table and wonderful services. All their crew are very friendly and nice, especially sweetheart Sumy with his smile. Great service, great food, and a great atmosphere. It seems that the new ownership has really turned this place around for the better!! I highly recommend the chicken kabobs with rice & Persian salad!! And they have this yellow desert (cant remember the name) but it's like rice pudding with cashews with a touch of saffron & cinnamon.
