Went online and saw 3 Hyundai Tucsons at the dealership which met our specifications (2010 or 11, under 20K miles, under 20K $$). I called the day before and asked if they were still available, and I was told yes. My wife and I arrived the next day and were told they were all gone (the reason probably being that they were such great deals, these cars are sometimes gone within hours!). My wife decided to take a look at the Santa Fe. After having driven both the Tuscon and Santa Fe, my wife decided that she liked the Santa Fe better. The one we test drove was priced @ $21,800. I told our salesman, M.M., this was out of our price range. He still proceeded with the hard sell. He asked if we had a trade-in. I said possibly, depending on how much we could get for it. After looking at our vehicle for 1/2 hour, they came back with a price $1500 lower than what I was offered at CarMax. I told them that if we couldn't get $5000 for the vehicle, we would just keep it. Eventually M.M. told us he could sell the car for $20,900. We left, but after thinking about it for a few days, I decided to capitulate. I called up M.M. and asked if the car was still available, and if the offer still stood, I would come in that day and buy it. He agreed. When I arrived less than an hour later, he asked about our trade in. I reminded him that we were not trading in the vehicle because we couldn't get the price we wanted for it. He then advised me that the deal was off the table! He said they would only sell at that price with a trade in. I reminded him three times of our conversation, and then left. I called my wife and relayed what happened. Even though I asked her not to, she was so upset, she called the manager. He was unapologetic and decided to take the salesman's recollection of what had occurred. He then said that they would honor the price offered, but we would have to pay to have the car certified. (The car was already certified, as listed on their website and Cars.com). I told my wife, no thanks. I couldn't trust these cars as far as I can spit. We went to Family Hyundai a week later and bought a 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. A much better experience there. Will never go back to any Patrick dealership. read more

So two weeks ago I made an appointment to get the recall done to my car and waited about 1 1/2 hrs to have the guy that took my car to tell me that they have to order the part ( you would think since they are the ones with the recall they would have the parts for the recall ) no big deal.. So today Thursday May 7th I brought my car back because they have the part (at7:40 am )they told me with in the hour the car would be done it's now 10:00am and my Car is not returned to me .. So I go out side to find my car just sitting there so I tell the porter that I would take it from here .. The time had sadly arrived. After 149189 miles, we were finally ready to retire the 1998 Toyota Corolla. So, the new car search started. The cars we considered went like this: Prius (too small for our new dog), Rav-4 (not comfortable enough), Element (only seats 4), Fit (WAY too small), Forester (nice), and finally Santa Fe (beautiful, ate a bit more gas than we wanted but a pleasure to drive). After finally picking the Hyundai, our dealer search commenced. We spoke to/emailed with several dealers around Chicagoland, Cleveland, Toledo, New Jersey, Virginia, etc.) until we found our best price, Patrick Hyundai in Schaumburg. When we spoke to other dealers, no one could believe the pricing. After Don-Trell at Patrick itemized the deal for us with the out the door price, only one dealer offered to beat the deal by $500. Patrick matched that offer. Because we had visited the dealership, really liked Don-Trell, and felt comfortable with the laid back Hyundai dealers, we decided to drive to Schaumburg to make the purchase. Upon arrival, Don-Trell shook our hands, asked if we had any questions, then said, "what do you think?" "Let's pick colors," I responded. Marty took us for a test drive of our new car and we were sold. Unlike the other reviewer, there were no sales tricks. The price quoted, in writing, was the price charged. Although the whole process of buying a car took a month (picking the right car, negotiation, taking ownership) the actual day-of process was a rather painless and, actually, quite fun 2 hours. All of the sales people that we came in contact with at Patrick were first-rate. They were friendly, knew their cars (unlike the Honda dealers) and were not pushy in the slightest. I would absolutely recommend Patrick Hyundai over any other dealer. They had a great price (that could not be matched) and provided excellent customer service. read more

Deceptive sales practices. They told us the model Elantra we wanted (black and black with some add ons) was "on the truck" and we would have it in a few days. Two weeks later no car, we go in to cancel sale, and they grabbed the exact car we wanted from neighboring dealer (why wasn't that offered to begin with?). Their salesmen get paid based on customer surveys. Our salesman told us "unless you plan on giving a 10/10, don't fill out the survey." Then when we gave him the 3/10 that he earned, he sent us a scathing email. Their service dept. is so inconvenient, you always need an appointment. I would never buy another Hyundai, and I would never return to any Patrick dealer. read more

I would never buy here. If you want to deal with honest people take your business elsewhere, I did. I had a bad impression walking into their showroom and wish I had turned right back around and left. Instead I made the mistake of staying for hours dealing with people trying to take my money with no regard to my best interest. The only good part of my experience at this dealership was that I knew to walk away from the deal instead of ruining my life with the deal they had so "graciously offered me". This review is for Rod in Sales only. I didn't have to deal with anyone else at this dealership. After a day of 13 straight hours of car shopping in the city and suburbs, I walked out of this dealership with my amazing deal on a brand new Hyundai Tucson. I spoke with Rod by phone and asked him to please not waste my time. I had been jerked around all day by car salesmen in person and was exhausted. After assuring me he had what I asked for in stock, he called me back within 15 minutes and gave me the out the door price. When I get to the dealership, on what was a very busy evening, Rod showed me the car, left me alone to inspect it, and did not pressure me AT ALL. The guy was up front, personable, and direct. Rod did not try to add in any last minute fees, and was good on his word for everything he'd told me on the phone. He even stayed well after closing to set up my blue tooth and make sure I knew how everything in my new car worked after the deal was already complete. I dreaded buying a car from a dealer, but because of Rod, I had a great experience. I highly recommend going straight to him if this dealership has a car you're interested in. Best part of the day (besides driving home in my first ever brand new car) was that the guy sent me on my way with a handshake and a hug! read more

Great leasing experience! Thank you to our sales person Tom Scimeca who got everything done fast and easy and answered all of our questions. My mom needed an inexpensive new lease and we started corresponding via email to save time by going over exactly what she needed. Tom was able to negotiate a nice monthly price for her 2019 Tucson SEL and have the exact car she wanted brought in from another location the same day! The whole process was fast and smooth. DO NOT BUY AT THIS DEALERSHIP!! We were low-balled. Meaning we were given an unrealistic low lease payment. Found out when we visited another Hyndai dealership. They ran numbers on the same exact model at invoice and were told that it was not possible to get anywhere near that payment amount. When we returned, the salesman (Luke) tried to separate me from my wife so she would sign papers by herself. After stating I had to be at work by a certain time, Luke delayed the time to sit down with the finance manager. Told me to go to work and my wife could sign papers. IN ADDITION, he took a check we gave him to give the finance manager and instead dropped it in a safe that couldn't be open except by armor guards and morning staff. We left to return the next day when we found out he was trying to hide fees. Long story short, called police to dealership to try and retrieve our money. Police tried to persuade manager to return money but manager told police it wasn't their concern (civil matter). They asked police to leave the dealership. In talks with the dealership owner's administration staff trying to get our money back. read more

I know what you're thinking. How can any car dealership earn 5 stars! I have been looking at Hyundai Sonata's for about a month. I had visited four other local Hyundai dealers and each and every one of them had some excuse as to why the car I saw advertised wasn't available. "They just sold it," or "that car is a manual transmission not automatic!" I heard it all. I went to Patrick Hyundai and was prepared. I had True Market Value quotes from Edmunds. I did my research and I knew exactly what I wanted. I dealt with a woman named M****. She was awesome. She took down my information and cut to the chase, so to speak immediately. There was no pressure. I felt as if they respected me as a customer which is something I didn't feel at the other dealerships. I had an overall exhausting but positive experience. I do not like shopping for cars and as a woman, I sometimes feel as if the dealer thinks I'm wasting his time. Patrick Hyundai will get repeat business from me although I just bought an awesome car, I hope I don't see them for a while! LOL. I know that different people experience different things during the car shopping experience. I really appreciated that Patrick Hyundai was upfront, answered all my questions, and left me to make my own decisions without all the nonsense some dealers make you go through. The building is going through renovations which didn't bother me at all. I went there to buy a car, not sit in a lounge. I expect the place will look better than it does, which is a plus. read more

Being young and stupid, I signed the papers, not knowing that I had just been taken for a [expensive] ride. After taking six years to pay this car off, I paid close to $35,000 including interest for a car worth not more than $22,000. Frankly, stunned to see the previous reviews. Hoping the older dates are a reflection of successful efforts to improve. We walked in Thanksgiving Saturday 30-45 min before closing not knowing what we wanted or "the process". (It'd been nearly 10 yrs since we bought cars last). We just left Mazda feeling really irritated with our experience there. The place was totally a buzz with people. We had to wait about 10 minutes for someone to become available. He listened, answered our questions, offered some fair advice, went on a test drive... perfectly pleasant and the anti-thesis of a stereotypical car salesman. We went to carmax next, couldn't find anyone for 20-30 minutes, used their computer kiosk and really disappointed in offerings/price compared to the new Hyundai we just test drove. After doing some research online, we concluded we were so happy with the Tucson features, price and folks that we bought it without shopping any more brands. The sales process went smoothly and fairly. I since added the extra protection package, ordered a spare key and accessory, and already had a nail embedded in my tire. Everyone along the way in the sales, service, cashier depts have all been opposite of anything I've ever experienced at a dealership - nice, attentive, and often go beyond the call of duty. Plus, nice to have car washed after my flat tire repair. My husband a die-hard Mazda fan is sold on Hyundai and dreaming of a sporty model for his next car and sooner than later. By the way, LOVE the car. I'm enjoying the Tucson so much. Many thoughtful details thru-out. I'm still discovering clever little ideas tucked in here and there. I was contacted by Steve K in customer service who was polite, apologetic and agreed to look into my previous complaint. While I have only had the car a few days now, it appears that all was done properly and my bill was adjusted. Never will I ever do business here again. Bought a car and took it immediately to my mechanic. Right away found issues in $2500 range. Took back to dealership and got yelled at for taking it to mechanic. Was told every one has the right to customize a used product according to their preferences and they would not fix any issues. Apparently, brakes that work and a reliable battery are not required but a personal preference. Returned vehicle right then and there. No way! read more

One of my Favorite businesses in Schaumburg. Randy and repair team are 1st rate. I had an issue with my GPS Nav system on my 2009 Sonata and since it was covered under the extended warranty they had to send the radio out. UGH. When the unit came back however, they promptly called me and worked around my travel schedule to get it back in. I showed up rushing between sales cals, on Saturday, arguably their busiest day, and one of the techs skipped lunch to get my unit reinstalled. Seriously people, who in this day and age delivers that kind of high-end personal service anymore? I can not recommend the service department enough. Went in to have them take a look at the sensors on my tire pressure monitoring system (minor service, under warranty). Called ahead and was told they weren't busy and it would take 30 minutes. Following up every 45 minutes, I ended up cancelled plans as they exceeded their estimate by hours. After 3 hours and 20 minutes in the waiting room I simply had to leave. They lowered my car and with no apology mentioned that I should come back at a time that was "more convenient for me." read more

I purchased a 2013 Hyundai Sonata 2.0 T Limited here from M M on Saturday. I would recommend M M to anyone that goes into Hyundai. He is a little rough around the edges but he is a genuine person. I walked in not expecting to purchase. However, after test driving it I was pretty much sold. I have read a lot of negative reviews and I think that people have to take a few things into account. 1. A dealership's job is to make money. They are in the business to make money. 2. A consumer's job is to get the best possible value. They are in the business to save money. I walked into the dealership knowing exactly what I wanted to pay for the new car and also knowing the lowest number I would take for my trade in. I pre-calculated the monthly payments and knew exactly where I wanted to be at. This is a game and if you can't play it then don't fault the dealer. There was 1 negative aspect of the whole transaction, and this is the only reason I did not give the review 5 stars. 1. After I told the salesman where I was trying to be (monthly payment), my salesman asked me (specifically) if he could get me to that dollar amount, would I take the car today? I stated yes and we shook hands on it. Then I filled out a credit app (perfect credit, no issues) but the salesman was forced to come back (I am sure by the people sitting behind the desk) and say that the payment was 15 dollars higher per month. I had a few choice words for him, and I stood up, I raised my voice, expressed my dissatisfaction and proceeded to walk out (this is what they need to see, again, part of the game). I told him to make it happen or we are done. Obviously they made it happen, and you almost have to expect this from any dealer, not just Hyundai. However, there were a few dealers that did NOT do this in my past dealings, hence the 1 star docking. Aside from that, it truly was a good experience overall. Oh, and I had my 5 year old with me the whole time. M M went out of his way to buy him chips, oreos and a drink and he kept him entertained! read more

He assured me that I was making all the right decisions and I genuinely felt that I could trust him.
