While shopping around the DC Metro area for a reputable shop to do the work or that "could" do the work- I was met with no returned phone calls, "....cant do it..." and no returned emails from the "contact us" form from a majority of businesses..... I saw Iron Mike's reviews on Yelp- pretty much all 5 stars coupled with a family run business and decided to consider them. My inquiry was returned almost immediately with a very fair and attractive quote, and they were more than accommodating in scheduling a mutually agreeable appointment time. While the location of the shop is somewhat off the beaten path of 355 proper in an area that time has seemed to have forgotten- I arrived at the agreed upon time, was greeted in a most welcoming manner and Iron Mike's took it from there. I was assured the work would be completed and I could pick my truck up at the end of the day so I decided to visit the Original Pancake House and explore White Flint and Rockville for the day-- To my surprise, just a few hours later, I got a phone call from Iron Mike's and was advised my truck was ready, everything went smoothly and I could pick up my truck any time. When I arrived, I was more than surprised to learn that because the job went a little quicker than anticipated, my bill was well under the quote and was incredibly fair !!!! It is so nice to see a business that appreciates YOUR business, coupled with taking pride in their work and more importantly doing a great job. It is also abundantly clear Iron Mikes knows their way around a car or a truck- and are very honest mechanics which is a rarity in this area. Levon was very straightforward in estimating the time required, which would be hard to determine before removing the door and viewing the frame damage, which turned out to be considerable. The quality of the work was excellent, and Levon provided excellent service in driving me to and from the Rockville library, when I had to wait a couple of hours for some minor follow-on repair. I originally submitted an online "work request" form on their website, and after not receiving a reply for a few days, I decided to give them a call. They quickly pulled up my online work request and from that "first contact" to when I picked up my vehicle, the experience was absolutely fantastic! The wiring on the Marauder, which had an aftermarket stereo installed (with an amp and sub) as well as an aftermarket sunroof, was a bit of a mess. Plus, the stereo was inop at the time I took it in (which turned out to be a blown fuse). I went without an appointment and one of their techs (Hector) came out and took a look at the car and listened patiently as a "non-audiophile" (me) tried to explain what the "problems" were with the current setup in the car. Well, he was very kind and seemed to know what needed to be done. Aaron said it would be 2 hours labor and told me that I could leave the car and they would try to get to it, because their next open appointment was a few days away. Sure enough, they were able to get to it the next day, and when they called to let me know they had checked it out, and had completed most of the work, they suggested that they could fix something else that wasn't working properly (for an additional charge), and I said "please do!" When I went to pick up the car, I spoke with Hector (again), and he gave me a quick rundown on what he was able to accomplish. He said there was one more thing that he would recommend be done (replacing one of the power wires that went from the battery to the fuse for the amp) and Aaron, who was there with me in the shop, asked Hector how long it would take (like 10 minutes), and then he asked me if I could wait, and i said "yes" and so they took care of it right then and there and didn't even charge me for it! I was absolutely stunned!! I can't say enough about how everything turned out. Admittedly, this work was fairly basic and straight forward, and while it was not "cheap", I think the cost was absolutely reasonable for what they were able to do, and the results were more than satisfactory! Tremendous attention to detail and outstanding customer service...HIGHLY recommend!!!
