Took my gravel bike in for a tune up and Hugo did a great job making sure my concerns we addressed (switching from big chainring to little chain ring) and cleaned everything up nicely on the bike making it looks better than new and run smoother too. All while only taking a couple days to do it. I also mentioned to Hugo that I had my race bike built by another shop but felt like everything was done poorly, incorrectly, and had to wait a long time for it to be done. Hugo told me to take it in for him to have a look about what I was concerned about. After taking it in for Hugo to look at and speaking about the issues I decided to have him rebuild the entire bike. Hugo went to work immediately and began the tear down showing me what was done wrong and how the right way of doing it was. It only took him a day to get my bike back up to tip top condition. Rode it the same day and everything felt superb. Had minor adjustments to be made but Hugo fixed them the day after I brought it back and explained that if I had any issues big or small that he would take care of it any time. I also ended up buying a new set of wheels that Hugo put on for me. He not only put them on for me but assured me the wheels would work on my drivetrain and provided his input on how it would be on the bike. I really appreciate everything Hugo and Angelica! You got my bikes running better than new and in no time. It's been a headache with the other shop I went to but Hugo's work and expertise saved the day. 3H has a lifelong customer. I also brought in 2 additional customers (neighbor and brother in law) after they saw the work that was done on my bikes and hearing from my experience. I can't thank Hugo and his family enough for taking care of everything for me.

I could not find these pair of shoes he gave me online anywhere. I think it must've been a cheap bulk buy and he's trying to get rid of them by "promoting" free shoes with bike purchase. He also failed to mention they are not compatible with my pedals. (Which he installed) When I first tried them on, the clip became loose while clipped in. And when you're cycling, clipping out incorrectly could cost you to fall. Which I did and my knee was severely injured. Thanks to his cheap free shoes. Beware of buying shoes from him, it can cost you your knee like it did for me. I went to another bike shop and they told me the shoe/pedal combo were the cheapest low quality they've ever seen

Knowing Big Wheel Bicycles is just a few blocks away, I thanked the first shop for the estimate and headed to Big Wheel bicycles for their estimate. Soon as I walked into Big Wheel bicycles, I was welcomed and a gentleman heard my issue, told me the issue was shifting gears while stationary, and no repair was necessary. Didn't charge a fee for diagnostics/time or anything! I was soon out the door, and rode the bike around the parking lot to make sure everything was in proper working order. Big Wheel Bicycles just earned a loyal customer. They could've charged for a diagnostic and/or suggested services, a la care dealer service departments, to this bike layperson, but they weren't concerned about racking up a bill for me, which in turn will bring them my future business going forward. I am quite happy with the brief service Big Wheel Bicycles afforded me, and I highly recommend them to anyone in search of a new bike or having their bike serviced.

Years ago, I brought my bike in for new cables to be installed. My first time in there, everyone is very nice and helpful. I was speaking to one mature Gentleman who seem to run the shop. His name may be Ron, but not sure. He is a cyclist. He checked my bike, and I show him certain areas where I noticed issues. He works the shifters for signs of drag. We just decided to change the cables. When I went to pick up my bike, the shifter didn't shift! It just moved freely. Completely free. I quickly pointed it out to same gentleman. I told him my snifters didn't have this problem when I brought it in. He checked the shifter (ultegra), and it still didn't work. The man stepped back and said, "that's the way it was when you brought it in"! That's not true, I told him. You moved the shifters yourself! He nods his head and says again, "that's the way it was". Shifters for this bike probably cost near $300 apiece. I was disappointed and worried. I called a friend who is an avid cyclist, for advice or help. He came over and noticed, THE CABLE WASN'T ATTACHED AT THE DERAILLEUR!! My friend clamped down on the cable, and everything was good again. My point is this. If Pat's 605 Cyclery breaks something on your bike, rest assured, they are going to deny responsibility for any damage. They knew my shifters were fine when I dropped it off. They didn't want to accept responsibility for my bike, regardless of what happened. They just denied it, and told me "that's the way it was". We now KNOW, that IS NOT the way it was when left it. You decide if you want to risk this,,,,if you have an expensive bike. My bike is carbon fiber. I sure wouldn't want them replacing a bottom bracket on my bike. Crack the frame! Guess what? That's the way it was when you brought it in! read more

Just bought two bikes from this shop. The first one I took back within a week and exchanged for another one. Actually, I exchanged it for the same one just a smaller version for by girlfriend. My husband and I went in this weekend and bought two bikes, a Canondale and a Giant, the guys at Pat's were GREAT! they were very knowledgeable about all the different bikes and worked with us as we figured out the best fit for each of us.They didn't try to up sell us, they just gave us options in the price point we gave.Everyone was friendly, patient and extremely helpful. I had a fantastic experience with Pat's 605 Cyclery. I picked up a used road bike on OfferUp after moving back to the states and brought it in for a tune up. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. Quick turn around. Rick took the time to help with some other adjustments after the tune up and shared some recommendations for fit and riding. Pro's: Decent choices and large selections on what you need. Except for the crappy wire locks that get clipped the day after you bought it from them and end up losing a $500 bike. Con's: Certain people working their have attitude problems and act cocky at times, I noticed other peoples reviews stating similar things. Drop the rock star bullsh*t and just be down to earth and respectful. You're just a bike shop not former roadies for Led Zeppelin. read more

Went to 6 L.A. area bike shops including Pat's because we had to "see our options". One less tank of gas later we returned to Pat's as has always happened over the years. I got a good deal on a new road bike along with the great service I've become accustomed to receiving there. I prefer to give my business to small local businesses and this is why. Not only have I purchased from them, but they have also done some repairs for me on the fly. I came to this shop for a front derailleur adjustment and I have to say Ian Morin did a hell of a job! He checked my brakes adjusted my gears, cleaned and lubed. I have to say I will be back and definitely will have Ian work on my Giant Propel. Thanks a lot! read more

Was told that a tuneup on a bike was 40$ then come to realize when I came back to pick up my bike there was all these extra charges , and I waited 2 weeks could of gone to the Downey one they charge 80$ and same day service . Just wish they were honest. read more

Not sure if it was too early for patrons to enter, 10:30am, but the person behind the counter was unapproachable. It saddens me to have local businesses on a major Downey thoroughfare be inhospitable to clients. I don't believe the photos I saw on Yelp of people in this shop. It might be relatives or acquaintances of the business owner to strum clientele. Note to the business owner: if this is how your employees continue to receive Downey clients, best move is to replace current employees with warm and receiving people. Otherwise, relinquish your shop and move your business elsewhere. I will make sure I bring this issue to the next Downey City Council meeting and speak on the horrible customer service experience.

It's a mountain bike with really great pickup and speed. Since last September we already have over 900 miles on them and recently we went back for the one year warranty coverage from them. Again, the service was outstanding, they adjusted the bikes and took care of a couple of minor issues, not unusual based on the miles we've done already. We highly recommend 562 EBIKES!!
