This Italian restaurant boasts outstanding cuisine made with the freshest ingredients and friendly service that makes you want to come back. Additionally, they are also very accommodating towards allergies and gluten sensitivities. My husband loves a great chicken parm and veal parm, but since going gluten-free has had a real hard time finding a decent one. Luckily, this restaurant has nailed the perfect recipe! We also enjoy their Caesar salad. The croutons are tiny yet tasty, and the crisp Romain lettuce and fresh Parmesan cheese along with the zesty Caesar dressing deliver an incredible combination of delightful flavor and crisp texture in every bite. I have eaten several dishes here but my favorites are their Chicken Francese and lemon chicken risotto. My husband also loves their Chicken Christine, If you enjoy getting to know the staff at a restaurant, then sit at the bar and meet Ava. Not only does she make a great dirty martini but she is also well-versed with the menu and clearly takes pride in serving her customers. She is the face of Pat's Italian for us, and we absolutely adore her. Although the acoustics are a bit loud, it is easy to have a conversation with those at your table. This experience was very confusing honestly. We arrived as a party of 4 and did not have a reservation. It was approximately 6pm on a Saturday. I would estimate 90% of the tables were open. At one time I counted at least 15 open tables. We were told there was a wait anyway. We ended up waiting at least 30 minutes when most of the tables were empty. When we were finally seated, there was only 1 party of reservations that came in after us. Most of the tables were still empty. The food was delicious and the server was great, but that doesn't make up for making us wait so long when there were a considerable number of empty tables. We almost left because of how ridiculous the waiting was. That would have been lost business for the restaurant because they were supposedly waiting for reservation that never showed up. Even when we left, a majority of the tables were still empty. Very, very confusing service model. Moral of the story- make a reservation if you don't want to stand there for a half hour or more staring at a mostly empty restaurant. read more

This restaurant is a hidden gem in Coventry, Rhode Island, they have pretty good options on the menu and an amazing flair for Italian cuisine, the bartender made whatever drink you wanted and recommended a very good wine for my steak, it was not a busy night so we were served quickly and we made new friends at the bar. This is my review that I made on Facebook: FYI: do not go to Pats Italian Restaurant in Coventry! We made reservations 2-3 weeks ago.. got dressed up tonight for a Valentine's dinner and when we got there .. we were seated. We were given bread and water.. and then waited 25 min and no one came over to ask us if we wanted drinks or appetizers! I then approached staff asking a couple of times if we had a waiter.. we were told they would be coming soon and offered more bread..after a 1/2 hour I was pissed as people who were seated after us were getting drinks and appetizers and we were eating bread and water.. we got up and put on our jackets.. a waitress or manager came over and said the host did not put our table on the list to tend to.. and said she was also pissed and I should yell at host.. I told her this was totally unacceptable and this was not the first time this happened there and we were trying to give them another chance but will never come back.. we then went to Chick -Fil-A and purchased my daughter dinner... my boyfriend and I will go without and see what we have at home.. Met family on a Thursday night for dinner. Server was fantastic, she was knowledgeable, personable and timed everything perfect. Drinks were good, great wine list. Food was good, hot to table, presented beautifully. They have a $25 special menu if that is something that you are looking for with an app, salad or soup and the entrée in the pricing. All in all a great experience. A little pricey, but that is because we all had a some drinks between us all but worth it at least. Coming home from Boston suburbs, I had a hankering for meatballs. A quick Yelp search yielded this business just off of I-95. Restaurant is very clean, inviting staff and a nicely curated menu. Italian bread and choice of soup or salad precede the entree. I had the Braised Beef Ragu with housemade pasta. Added on a side of 2 meatballs. It was an excellent meal. Went for dinner with my girlfriend. Service and food were top notch. Veal Parm is excellent and a great portion. My girlfriend had the chicken Alfredo with homemade pasta. The homemade pasta was incredible, it melted in your mouth (in a good way). Only drawback was the bread. A minor detail, but the bread was too inferior for the type of restaurant Pats is and it doesn't belong in the building. Im giving it a 4, but in reality this is a 3.5 because of the bread. I've been looking forward to trying Pat's since I heard that they were going to be opening in the old Westcott House location. We tried to go a couple of weeks ago but the wait was too long on. Friday night, so tonight I figured 5:30 on a Tuesday shouldn't be too bad. I was right. The remodel is nice inside, comfortable and cozy, less brassy than the previous restaurants were. It's a more upscale place with prices commensurate with that. I don't mind paying for quality. And the food is very good quality, with great ingredients and made well. What I do mind is being nickeled and dimed for the little things. The bread they brought to the table for my son and I was literally two thin slices of Italian bread cut into halves. One of those two halves was near the heel and wasn't really a great piece as a result. That's kind of chintzy for two people to enjoy. My son had chicken parm and I had veal parm. The menu is somewhat limited because I think they're still in a soft opening mode at this location. I could have used a little more sauce, but I was already being upcharged for the homemade pasta, (it said $1.95, but I paid $4.00 for some reason), while my son stuck with the penne and we had to pay for each small $2.00 glass of soda as well (no refills). I was afraid that if I asked for a more appropriate amount of sauce that they might charge me another dollar or two. The food itself was delicious. I have no problem paying $20+ for chicken or veal, but when I feel that everything else is being skimped on, and when I ask for another of those $2.00 Cokes and they don't arrive until I'm done with the meal, it really doesn't sit that well with me. Food - Excellent. Tasty, flavorful, perfectly prepared. The tomato sauce had a little bit of a bite to it that made it interesting. Really tasty. The pasta was al dente and perfect. Great entree. Portions are very large. It's likely that you'll have a nice lunch tomorrow with your leftovers. Service - Our waitress was nice and helpful. However, she was inexperienced, forgot our second drink order, and then after realizing it took forever to bring it over to us until we were done with the meal. Value - The prices are commensurate with Federal Hill, and the food is as well. However all of the stinginess and simultaneous upcharges on things like bread, sauce, pasta, and soda feel a little bit ridiculous and out of place. It's those kind of things that will make Pat's a once or twice a year place for me to eat with my family and friends versus a once a week or twice a month kind of place for all of us. Overall, it's a nice restaurant with a few kinks to work out. The food is terrific, but it just feels like the hospitality and the value could be better overall. Five star food. I hope the Owner reads this. My son took me to Pat's Italian Coventry for Mother's Day (2nd year in a row). I'll start by saying that the food there is fantastic. My husband said it was the best calamari he's ever had. The portions were big and delicious. Also, our server was very nice but I think too many tables for 1 person. I noticed it for other servers too. However, the bartender was horrible. My son ordered a sauvignon blanc and it had debris floating in it. He told the waitress, saying perhaps it's pieces of cork. He asked to either have it filtered or get a new glass. Next thing you know, the bartender is at our table confronting my son about how the wine came from a screw-cap bottle and brought it with her to show him. I said 'maybe it's just a dirty glass then'. She didn't even acknowledge me and my husband sitting there, never mind respond to my comment. Her reaction did not suit the situation. All she had to do was send out a new glass of wine-done. Not come out, at the height of a very busy day to boot, to confront the customer. Clearly, my son just mentioned cork in his conversation with the waitress but the main point was that there was debris in the glass, whatever it was. All she had to do was look at it. She returned to the bar, our meals were served, and my son was just about finished with his dinner by the time his wine came back out. There was still debris in it so we all believe she just sent back the same glass. He didn't want ruin my mother's day meal and I didn't want to ruin his gift to me so we said nothing. But he had no wine with his dinner and we felt very poorly treated. $200 later I told my son there are way too many wonderful Italian restaurants in RI to come to one and be treated like that. *Note to readers* I am reviewing this on takeout only due to inside seating closed because of the pandemic. We decided to try a place we've never eaten from before. Our food was excellent! The presentation was very good, considering it was boxer up to go. The order process was simple. Pay over the phone, give them your name a vehicle make. They will see you car and bring it right out. I was quoted at 25 mins to pick up. As soon as I showed up, food was ready. We got the arancini appetizer, chicken soup, chicken parm and chicken florentine. We were not disappointed. The chicken soup was awesome! My wife wants to go here for soup from now on. She used to go to west valley inn to pick up soup but says this soup was better. I definitely recommend this place. Will be back again. Hopefully able to check out the inside or dining service next time. read more

We have tried Pat's three times now, the first time we enjoyed their dishes, specifically their Chicken Florentine. Since then they don't offer Chicken Florentine and the dishes we have tried like their Spaghetti and Meatballs and Pasta Inferno just have been lackluster and overpriced. What a lovely meal we had. I had not been to this Pat's location and I was delighted to see that it was lovely inside and very very clean. The diners were seated away from each other which made me feel safe. They did have outdoor dining but we dined indoors. We had a wonderful server and she was very helpful and making decisions. Her name is Jessica but apparently there's a blonde Jessica as well. She was also nice. We got the two dinners for $40 special. We could select soup or salad for each of us and an entrée for each of us from a list on that particular menu. There were plenty of options to choose from and then we could share an appetizer. We got the Arancini which was out of this world. We both had salads then Mike had the Bolognese with homemade rigatoni and he really enjoyed it. I got chicken Parm which was excellent. I also had a cranberry Mule drink. It had cranberry vodka in it and ginger beer and some thing else and it was so so good I know. Definitely will be back again. read more

Food is excellent. The chef Gilmar is very skilled at what he does. Normally, I'd find a flaw in my dish, but this man is consistent in his cooking skills. I have a very spoiled family and picky, and our top three choices are Chicken Parm, Chicken Christine, and my ultimate, the seafood cardinale. Tastes incredible and the seafood is seared to perfection!!! Been working with Brian, the event coordinator, great guy, willing to please your accomodations. This review is based off of my last three (3) experiences with Pat's Italian restaurant, each worse than the next. This one star rating is for a varitey of reasons and is why they will shut down within the next 12 months. 1. Pricing : I have eaten in the North end of Boston for less money than Pat's Italian in Coventry RI. 1 pasta Bolognese, chicken parm to go = $56.00. 2. Customer service: Rude. Ignorant. Disrespectful. Hung up on me when I called to inform them they forgot one of my sides. 3. Hours of operation: Hours on front door indicate they are open until 9 PM. Arrived on site at 8:15. They said sorry we are closed despite having 20 people sitting in the restaurant eating while waitress is texting on her cellphone. My wife and I have lived in coventry about two years and had been to the Pats Italian in Cranston and in Johnston. We decided to finally order some take out and it was an absolute mistake; I ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese and it was so greasy the sauce had separated. my wife ordered the crispy chicken Alfredo and the Alfredo sauce had zero taste of cheese, it tasted like straight up warm cream. The best part of the dinner was the 3 pieces of bread we got. Complete waste of the $20+ per meal that we spent there. We will definitely not be back there ever. Not sure where they learned how to make "Italian" food but id rather take my chances at Burger King next time. read more

We have been regulars at Pat's since the pandemic. They have never disappointed us. The service is excellent, one of the best in the area. Food is delicious, delivered exactly as ordered, and their ability to feed me so well with my gluten alleegy has never been a problem. Prices are very reasonable, and portion sizes are very generous, leaving me with yummy leftovers to enjoy. I made a reservation for 6 people on Friday night at 7pm. I received several texts and calendar reminders asking me to confirm and reminding me of my scheduled time. When we arrived we were told there wasn't enough staff and would have to wait a half hour or more to be seated. While I understand the difficulty of staffing issues it would have been great if the restaurant called to inform us of the issues and asking if we wanted to perhaps come another time. The point of making a reservation for a larger party is to allow a restaurant to plan ahead. We wound up calling another restaurant who could easily accommodate us. Prior to us leaving, several other parties walked out. There were no apologies and no management presence. I don't recommend. read more

My wife and I were invited by our friends that have been there before. Our server was very friendly didn't rush us to order. We ordered our dinner it came out very generous portions and absolutely delicious!! I had the veal Marsala my wife had the pancetta risotto with scallops she said it was delicious. It didn't live up to the hype in my opinion. The best thing was the fig and arugula pizzas. The Milanese was so drenched in sauce that the chicken was wet and breading soggy . The homemade pasta was a little too cooked for my liking. Entrees cane with a small salad that was crisp and came with the best dressing. My husband said his veal was drowning in sauce.
