Posillipo was a delight. It's sort of off the beaten path but worth it. The outside is unassuming. Once i entered I was greeted as if we was family. I the food is delightful. I have been here twice and ordered different meals each time. They all were delicious. Depending on what I ordered it was offered with side dishes. You won't leave hungry here. The chef is quite skilled. The staff could not have been better. They are helpful and attentive. The chef even came to our table. Put Posillipo on you places to visit.

There is potential; however, the chicken soup and lemon chicken entree we tried were too salty with no added depth of flavor. It was nice that all entrees come with bread and salad which was not bad. The Italian dressing is a bright orange color that tasted better than it looked. The bread paired well with high quality olive oil and herbs. Would've been 10/10 bread if it were toasted or kept warm. We also tried the clam pasta in wine sauce which was solid but unfortunately nothing impressive. The ambiance is nothing fancy, but clean and inviting. Service was friendly but a tad slow given there were only a few tables when we were initially seated.

I'm usually VERY picky when it comes to Italian food, but the dishes at a Posilippo were 100% authentic and checked all the boxes! The spaghetti with seafood were delicious, and so were the bruschette! The absolute best was the sauce for the Scaloppine, which added to the entire quality of the dish! The owner, Luigi, is also incredibly friendly and made the dining experience so much better by making us feel right at home! Will definitely come back to this restaurant and recommend it to everyone I know!

Delicious! We had Angelina as our waitress and she was very friendly and knowledgeable. Their bread is from buono bakery in providence. We got calamari, lobster ravioli and chicken parmigiana. Both entrees came with a side salad. Can't wait to go back.

Another great dinner at Posillipos! My husband ordered the bruschetta appetizer, which has provolone cheese on it, which I don't like so I didn't try it. But he and my mom loved it! I had gnocchi, so light but filling, with a sauce that reminded me of my aunt's sauce straight from the old country! My mom had Pollo Limone, which I reviewed previously. She loved it too! My husband had the chicken Parm, and he said it was very good. Chef Luciano greeted us when we came in, but it was very busy for a Thursday night. We did have reservations, and when traffic kept us from getting there on time, a phone call saved us and we were able to enjoy our delicious meal. Bella kept everyone happy with her service, and she was running between both dining areas. Truly made to order, and delicious, well worth the price and wait. We can't wait to go back!

Great little neighborhood Italian restaurant with the food cooked by the old school Italian immigrant owner. Several different menu options, very generous portions and everything is freshly prepared, not frozen. This is the authentic deal. This isn't some overpriced fancy place, the decor is more simple and down home. But make no mistake, this is no dive. It's still classy without being pretentious. The prices are insanely low and the service is outstanding. I've only been here a few times so far but unfortunate enough to live about five minutes down the road so I plan on many more trips here to enjoy sampling the rest of the menu. There is a small parking lot in the front and there's also on street parking. They have a full bar and two separate dining rooms. I highly recommend checking this place out and I know you won't be disappointed!

"Don't judge a book by its cover" This small family Italian Restaurant May not have the fanciest decor but what it lacks in fashion it makes up in substance. I went for a family dinner birthday celebration and we had a wide array of food including the Calamari, Antipasto, Chicken Parmigiana and a Pork Special. Everyone enjoyed their meals and no one left hungry. I would give it 4.5 stars, well worth a try if you find yourself in Northern Rhode Island.

An amazing display of spices and entertainment for the tastebuds.

I finally got the chance to visit. I begin with a call to make sure they are open. The lady on the phone spoke with a thick Italian accent - I knew I was going to love it. She was polite but unpolished - I then knew it was going to be cool experience. It was like walking into someone's kitchen - very homey feeling. Making a reservation is needed - call ahead. The waitresses spoke to us like they know us forever. Them sharing the specials was a conversation piece - it was like being in a room with family. Their limited hours makes visiting intriguing. Their decor is pretty simple and plain - unassuming especially from the outside. Their Caprese came well seasoned. Usually you have to add salt and pepper - but the flavor burst was well setup. I ordered their special - half lobster and seafood over angel hair. The best I've ever had. It was a super large portion and filled with flavor.

    Linguine with clams

This restaurant was really good. It has an older crowd but it was great for dinner with my parents. The interior is nothing fancy, but they make up for it with their solid food. It feels like a little hole in the wall Italian place. I ordered the linguine with clams and it was great. There was a lot of clam meat in the dish and the sauce wasn't heavy at all. The salmon dish and the eggplant looked great also. My only complaint is that they seemed to be almost out of drinks. It was 8 o'clock on a Saturday night and I felt like they were running out of things. We ordered wine and they said they only had a few glasses left. They also don't serve cocktails so that's a little strange to me. Overall, I still enjoyed my experience. I ended up with a glass of Pinot Grigio which went well with the linguine. The prices are very affordable for the quality of food you're getting. I recommend this place for a cozy and simple Italian meal.

I have been dying to try this place because a lot of people rave about it. But I have to agree with a few of the other reviewer's it's OK but I didn't knock my socks off. The seafood special had a half of a small lobster, three clams and the scallops were the tiny bay scallops. I'll be honest I was expecting sea scallops in this kind of dish. It was good but the flavor didn't blow me away. My husband got a veal dish and the portion was very small. The prices here are not cheap. The restaurant is in a very old and run down building. Stains on the ceiling tiles, ripped up carpeting extremely outdated. Prices reflect a higher end restaurant. My dish was 31.95 my husband was 20. In my opinion very overpriced. I have to agree with another reviewer on the salads also they were a joke. On a side plate extremely sore in my opinion very overpriced. I have to agree with another reviewer on the salads also they were a joke. On a side plate extremely small. Iceberg with sone shredded carrots a piece of tomato a d cucumber. For the price of the entrées just not worth it in my opinion.

The venue is fairly big and can host a good number of parties. The place is fairly loud if that's a consideration. For food we shared a plate of muscles and a pasta. The pasta was huge for a portion size so we were glad that we didn't order too much since we weren't too hungry. The food itself was pretty good. My 2 star review really goes to the service that I experienced that night b/c it really coud have been better. When we finished our muscles, a woman came over to clean up and clear our plates. She dropped one of the knives on the table and then proceed to drop the sharing plate into the plate of red sauce that the muscles were in which splashed my face and get over my white tank top. All I got was a sorry and she walked away. As I was trying to clean my own shirt with my nakpin with the water from my cup the waiter asked if i needed a alcohol wipe and gave me a new napkin. I wasn't addressed the rest of the night by the server so instead of making up for the issue, they avoided it. It's a strange way to handle a poor situation and I wouldn't recommend going back.

We have friends in the area who had heard of the place, but had never gone, so we made a reservation (2.5 months ahead for a 4 some on a Friday, so it must be special...) and finally got to see what the fuss was about. (Still wondering.) We started with what ended up being a high point, "beets and frites." A very interesting take with a lot of frites, not enough beets (5 slices under the stack), and about 2 tablespoons of the lemon aioli. The few tastes of the 3-part combination were great. The frites, crisp and soooo thin, were good on their own. The olive oil that came with the bread was very green (young), with a strong flavor but I was surprised that there was no pepper grinder. I had the (special) cod, which came with a lazy prep of broccoli rabe and OK potatoes. The fish was cooked well, moist and fresh, but I'm still not sure what the flavorless green topping was. Our table also had oxtail ravioli, which consisted of tasty little purses of thin pasta and nicely flavored meat inside. (Probably the best entree, and gained the second star.) The eggplant was unremarkable in terms of flavor of the sauce, and the veggies that went into it did not seem to be very fresh. For dessert, we had rhubarb peach tart and chocolate bread pudding. The tart was mostly crust and very shy on the rhubarb. The bread pudding apparently used Hershey's chocolate powder which was not a great flavor and left a grainy texture. The server was not very friendly, somewhat pushy, and insisted that we order the dessert when we ordered everything else. Allegedly, this was because the dessert is made to order, but we had the impression that it was to expedite our table time. Even so, with all that "careful planning" only 3 of the 4 entrees made an entry and we waited quite a while for the 4th to show up, even after asking. Overall, not a good experience and not a place I'll plan to revisit.

When you sit down, you have the option to order from any of their menus (from different cuisine types), but we decided to go with Pasta/Italian/Pizza which is Double Zero's speciality. To start off, we got their meatballs. These were solid, the tomato sauce was delicious! I wish the meatball itself had more of a crispy/crunchy outer layer. It was a bit too soft/mushy for my liking. You could definitely tell it was plant-based as well (which is fine, just not my preference!). We got their Cacio e Pepe and the Rigatoni Alla Vodka. I was a big fan of the Garlic Bread Twist! I could honestly eat this by itself. The Garlic Bread wasn't overwhelming the Rigatoni it was paired with but very flavorful. The Rigatoni was okay to me, it wasn't the usual Rigatoni pasta shape and I thought it could've had stronger flavors/seasoning. I really enjoyed their Cacio e Pepe, the cashew cream sauce was very tasty and highlighted the black pepper and cheese flavors. At first I wasn't a fan of it. After a few bites, it grew on me! Service was solid, our waitress was friendly and we got our food quick. I can see this as a great spot for people with dietary restrictions or just a cute date spot as well. I recommend giving this place a try! I think if I were to come back, I'd like to try their pizzas.
