West Valley Soup and Sauce is a throwback to the old banquet hall that Rhode Islanders remember well. The meatballs and dinner rolls are my go to favorites but they have so many different options, from frozen meat pies to chicken parm. Their chicken soup is always a good choice for my work lunches. I am usually getting my food to go but they do have a family style dine in dinner on Sundays. The staff is always very friendly and despite being busy, the service is efficient. Great place to pick up and go when you need a good meal at reasonable price. They are known for their soup, which is a local favorite. I decided to try West Valley Soup & Sauce Catering. It was excellent! They bring their own chafing pans and set up everything. They called first the next day to pick up equipment. The food was sensational like you used to get. Everything was hot and delicious. Our menu consisted of salad with their famous dressing. Macaroni and meatballs. Oven roasted potatoes. Their famous roasted chicken. Plus they gave us chicken salad sandwiches which were the bb. Cookies and brownies. They brought plastic dishwate and silverware. We'll surely get them again. This my first visit here and buying take out, on-line. Their tomato sauce is still delicious, as it was when their banquet halls were still functioning . The pasta was cooked perfectly. The meatballs were terribly small, unfortunately. The eggplant was delicious, but I should have got a larger portion. The stuffed chicken was tasty. The prices are very reasonable. Like many Rhode Islanders, I remember going to West Valley Inn for holidays, weddings, and functions over the years. Ordering from West Valley Soup & Sauce today brought back a lot of those memories because the food is just how I remember it but with some delicious twists. One bite of the soup and it took me right back to being at the Inn! The roasted potatoes and stuffed chicken were always two of my favorites so I brought those home for Sunday dinner. The bread and cranberry stuffing on the chicken was just the right mix of flavors. The Italian Chicken Tenders were one of the specials and I would go back for those alone. We ordered sides for Thanksgiving last year and this year. I didn't do the pickup last year but I picked up the sides this year and they seem to worked out the kinks and have a good system in place. When you walk in, there are signs and everything is roped off all nice and organized. The food looked so good that I wanted to eat it even though I'd be eating the same thing tomorrow. I really liked that the staff there was so friendly. Combined with the delicious food, I definitely plan on being back! Oh this place is just absolutely lovely. Unfortunately I walked in about 2 minutes to closing time and as the manager was about to lock the doors. He said "come on in!" I go out of my way to get soup here. And that says a lot for a native! I keep the bucket I bought for my original chicken soup purchase, in my car. If I had one suggestion, it would be to put less salt in the recipe just to make it a little healthier. read more

I am not a native Rhode Islander so I didn't know much about this place, but I told a coworker about it and she told me I HAD to try it. It just opened, and a lot of people seem to be longing for some sort of nostalgia, so lines were long..... but moved quickly. Service was friendly. Very clean. It's not so much a sit down type of place. Menu is small so you don't become overwhelmed. Meatballs were delicious, bread tasted like it was cooked recently. The only negatives that I can say - - the parking lot is a nightmare, and the website didn't indicate what type of soups they had..... I plan to try again when it's not so crazy/busy. So if you are a native Rhode Islander... This is like the equivalent of Toys "R" Us reopening for Gen X. Enjoy! read more

We have tried West Valley Soup & Sauce twice and really enjoyed it both times, so sad we missed the original! So far we have tried the meatballs, roasted chicken, sauce, chicken escarole soup, and the fresh bread. All of it was cooked fresh, seasoned well, and tasted delicious. Friendly and helpful service! Not sure about this place the soup was ok and lots of the little macaroni like I like however very little chicken I also bought a container of sausage, peppers and potatoes. Food is just o.k. Prices are not o.k. Not at all. Also, one of their biggest sellers - the chicken stir fry - who decides that it only gets made on a certain day (or days)? Went in twice, they don't have it, and that's specifically why I went in. Second time it happened, it was, oh, it'll be tomorrow that we have it. Tried for the first time yesterday. Outstanding!!! Purchased chicken cooked in white wine a breast, thigh, drumstick and wing. Was super moist and tender. Chicken soup was great. Bought sausage and peppers to reheat. Prices are tremendous. Service was also quick and efficient. All the other food looked tremendous. I strongly recommend. Oh what happened??? Stay away from this disaster! The only thing that was remotely edible was the soup that was just ok nothing great. The stuffed chicken was horrendous! Dry over cooked little chicken breast stuffed with what I can only call baby food mush! Dry not seasoned potatoes that where hard as rocks dripping in oil. Sausage peppers and potatoes that tasted sour rancid like. Even the bread was bad it was like Walmart white bread the kind you get at the Chinese restaurant and don't eat also this was $70 worth of food that went straight in the garbage! My family was looking forward to the return of West Valley inn's food and now we are beyond disappointed and will not be back read more

I just experienced the most comforting thing in a very long time. Unfortunately my mother is hospitalized at this time and my father is very depressed and upset in life. After showing up to pick up a pork pie from the facility I quickly explained my situation and that my dad was very very happy to hear that I was able to get him his favorite dinner entree. That being said Jeff, asked me after me venting, if the pie again was for my father. I replied yes... He then, looked at me, handed me the pie and said tell your dad Merry Christmas, no charge!
