I was looking for some nostalgia with lunch today and that is just what I got with Patti's. Took the quick trip to Fall River and found this little gem with no hassle. From the minute I walked in I was greeted warmly. The waitress was very friendly and funny - she even introduced me to Patti! I knew that I had very high standards when it comes to Polish food ( grew up with polish cooking of my grandmother and aunts). You betcha dupah they surpassed my expectations! I tried the sampler plates with 8 delightful pierogi's. The cabbage was authentic and brought me back to when I would eat them at the Polish bazaar. But the absolute must is the Farmers cheese. They prepare your pierogi's grilled or boiled - but seriously just have them grilled - the only real way to enjoy them. I also tried their dessert pierogi's (Apple) and I was delighted with it - if I wasn't so full I would have tried some of the other varieties. I bought two dozen of these delicious pockets of love to cook up for dinner with family I've got to get back to try the stuffed cabbage (golabki - gowumpkey). read more

The group I ate with had the pierogis, galobkis, and polska kielbasa; and there were certainly no complaints at all. The variety of different types of pierogis is pretty crazy. Here are just a few of the conconctions we tried were: Shepherd Pieogi (potatoes, ground beef & corn), Bada-bing (italian sausage, sweet red pepper, onions & homemade sauce), Pizzaogi (ground kielbasa, chourico, moss & tomato sauce), Mac & Cheeseeogi, Wild Hoggi (BBQ pulled pork & onions), and the Greekogi (spinach, feta, garlic, onion & pepper). If you want to keep it simple, the traditional pierogis are really good as well. For dessert, the hot apple cinnamon pierogi was pretty good, but the peanut butter cup pierogi was to die for. I live in a city that does not do pierogies. So imagine my joy in passing though Fall River and finding a Yelp review for a restaurant with "pierogies" in its name. Worth a stop on the way to the Providence airport, I figure. Indeed it was. I only had time to order a few potato pierogies to go. I didn't even know this place existed! Apparently it was on Phantom Gourmet and another drive-in/diner program? Where was I? I am no expert on Polish cuisine, but I know what I like. I loved my experience here! The soup was good, and it came with delicious rye bread. I ordered the number 1, since it seemed like a safe bet. And because I loved it, I am looking forward to trying something different from their wide variety of Pierogi. I even ordered dessert: rocky road pierogi with ice cream that melts with each bite of your dessert. How wonderful. To top it all off, the place has a Harley Davidson theme. my fiance and i ate here recently. the food was fantastic. the service was not. we arrived and sat at the bar just as the dinner rush was beginning. the bartender was clearly in the weeds and, instead of acknowledging it and apologizing, she went about her business and simply got to things when she got to them. i was a little perturbed. i was in the business for a long time, and the way she handled being too busy was just all wrong. we ordered the international pierogi platter, as well as the brady bunch (bacon cheeseburger pierogis). the brady bunch was phenomenal. the flavors on the inside of the pierogi were perfect, and the dill pickles added that familiar and necessary punch of acid to help balance the rich pierogi filling. the international platter was alright. there were definitely a few misses, but i literally couldn't tell you what they were because it was nearly impossible to determine which pierogi was which based on flavor, not to mention that the little flags that are supposed to help you identify each one were largely absent. the only two of six i could actually identify were the potato and cheese and (i think) the bada bing (italian sausage). the bada bing was by far the tastiest. the potato and cheese was a shining example of what the simple combination is supposed to be. we will come here again, because the pierogis themselves were fantastic, but we'll have more appropriate expectations (i.e. none at all) regarding the service. read more

Looking for Polish food? Want to go on a decent road trip? Patti's is the place, nestled in Fall River. It was worth the drive and I would totally come again. I got the Polish platter which came with 12 pierogie, 6 different kinds, a kielbasa link and two galumpki. Obviously it is meant for two people, so there was plenty of food. If sharing, get another kielbasa link though. So yummy. It is a small place so I can see there being a wait on busy days and times so it's probably best to go on an off time. So not a good start. she got the menus and walked away before I could order drinks. So waited another 20 minutes to order both drinks and food. I got the "big joshua". Cabbage soup was pretty good. I'm 55 years old, and this is the first of anything that I have ever felt warranted a written a review on. Shortly after we were seated, we realized there were way too many tables for the size of the room. As far as we got with our waitress was placing our beverage order and receiving our beverages, however, she didn't take our food order. Within 5 minutes, the entire dining room was then filled up with other patrons that arrived after us. For the next 20 minutes we watched our waitress take ALL the other tables beverage and food orders except for ours. And getting back to the crowded seating arrangement? A person getting up from their chair behind me pushed her chair so hard against mine that the back legs of my chair came off the floor by a few inches, and I was shoved up against the edge of my table. We paid for our beverages and walked out. I will be telling all of my clients to never dine at this establishment, and I'll eat a frozen Mrs. T's Pierogi over a Patti's anyday. read more

Yum. As close to mom's as I've found so far and my family enjoys the outing. We start with potato pancakes, which are delicious. Onion and kielbasa are our favorites. Main dishes include the pierogis...both traditional and non-traditional. I prefer the traditional flavors(potato and sour kraut) while my youngest daughter works her way through the non traditional flavors...tonight's is bacon Mac and cheese. I had the meatloaf which I enjoy. It's offered with three different sauces (a creamy mushroom, tomato or brown gravy with onions). My husband loves the Big Josh - lots of food and variety. This is some of the best food in the area! I always go large with the "Big Joshua." It's more than enough food for one person, but the deliciousness makes you keep going! You cannot go wrong with any of the flavors of Pierogis, just make sure you try as many as you can. The kielbasa is always cooked well and has just the right amount of snap to it. You've gotta ensure that you get the Polish beer mustard with your food, as it makes the standard yellow mustard seem lacking of all things in flavor town. We were driving back from a day of touring the Mansions in Rhode Island and I remembered this place I saw featured on Diners Drive-in's and Dives a while back in Fall Rivers. Hey we just passed a Fall Rivers Hwy sign so I googled it and we found it. It was late but they were still opened. There is a huge bar when you walk in and then to the right a quaint little dinning area. The place is really dated and decorated with all things Polish. There is a small section dedicated to Guy Feiri. Reminded of those lucky cat shrines you see in Asian restaurants. We were seated at a breezy table with a red and white checkered tablecloth. Polish music filled the air. We ordered the international pierogi sampler and a bowl of old fashion potato soup with kielbasa as an add on. In fact we had to also order sour cream as an add on. The pierogi were fried and in some spots overdone. The fillings sure were different. Some we liked and others not so much. The soup was really good. Happy we ordered the kielbasa as an extra. They offer so many interesting flavors of pierogi here. We would have tried more but they were pricy for what you get. read more

The food here is really good. We took an hour drive just to visit. Everything is made to order to be patient because you'll wait a while. Enjoy some homemade Rye bread while you wait. We got a 1/2 dozen pierogi's - TRY the mac n' cheesogi - you WON'T be sorry!!! Also be sure to try the shepards pie pierogi...amazing! We also got the Golabki, potato pancake and polish kielbasa.
