I have tried the Tsukune twice now, a tasty meatball creation. Today I also had the Bara Tama, pork belly with thick slices of onion. They are both savory delights but the sweet of the onion paired with the salt of the pork belly and a dab of horseradish mustard makes it my new favorite! I won't forget how there were tasty options around every corner in Tokyo. Ever since I went to Japan last year, I crave delicious yakitori from a charcoal grill in the Bay Area and always seek out new places to try. I finally tried Okibiyaki-Kikuchi as a yakitori pop-up at ShaKa brewing after eyeing it for a long time. The grilled meat skewers were so delicious and enjoyable to eat with a cold beer flight from ShaKa brewing. The chef is a master of yakitori. I tried hatsu, kalbi, shishito, kimo, and bara tama. I can describe a perfect night like this. A perfect night included skewers from the live ember grill by the master chef and a beer flight. The flavors are legit-- the process of preparing the meat is impressive, and the technique with the charcoal grill brings out the best flavors. The Bay Area is treated to authentic flavors like in Japan. It is recommended that should arrive to the pop-up early as they ran out of the chicken skewers. I will absolutely order the chicken skin and thigh again and again. I also tried his pop up at Clandestine Brewery as well. The quality is so consistent and delicious. I like the vibe of eating like in a picnic style outdoors with a cold glass of beer. Nothing beats that for me. Follow @okibiyaki_kikuchi on IG to see where he pops up next.

The UFC is consistently my favorite choice there. I've tried their other food but every time I order something else, I tell myself it just doesn't live up to the UFC. Their fried chicken sandwich is perfectly crispy, decently sized (I always food coma afterwards), is quick to arrive after ordering, and comes with a bag of Hawaiian kettle chips. Love when this truck comes to the office because I know the food is always good and I never have to wait long.

Eat On Monday started doing pop up dinner options. This past wknd, we saw that they were doing Garlic Shrimp Hawaiian style and a Curry Tonkatsu plate as well as offering up roscoes ice cream tacos. We got 4 Garlic Shrimp orders and 1 Curry Tonkatsu and 4 ice cream tacos to try. The Curry Tonkatsu was bomb. The Japanese influence Curry was good with the rice and a perfect pairing to the crispy tonkatsu cutlet. I wished I had ordered more servings of this over the Garlic shrimp. The Garlic Shrimp was good but a tad too dry. We needed a garlic sauce to compliment the garlic rice. There was a bit too much raw chopped garlic mixed vs sautéed chopped garlic. Hopefully they make the adjustment. Kids loved the roscoes ice cream tacos for $5 each. We wanted more of the Youngsters (cookies and cream) but it only allowed us to order 1 as it was probably the last one in stock. If you aren't sure what to have for dinner, this was an option for Fri/Sat for us. I think they offer it up via doordash etc as well. They also debated a Thursday night addition when I was picking up our food. Try them out. Good portions.

They serve mini donuts and drinks from Friday to Sunday. We went on a Saturday around 10:40am and it was quite empty. All the cafe stuff and equipment is in the garage and they had outdoor seating on their driveway. They also have a cute donut wall for taking pictures of your food and drinks. We ordered 6 mini donuts with a vanilla drizzle and fruity pebbles, which ended costing $7.50. The donuts were basically made right in front of us and the service was fast. They served it to our table and gave us two extra mini donuts. The donuts were warm, light, sweet, and also coated in like a cinnamon sugar dust. The owners were really interactive and had great hospitality. They even gave us a sample of their cold Mexican chocolate to try and gave us a water bottle to wash the donuts down . They just opened last July and I think they deserve more customer attraction. My friend and I would definitely go again.

Their outdoor seating is really nice too, it's cozy and definitely looks great during their evening hours with their lights. Please give Z8 Cafe a try great family and great food and drinks!

Meaning you place your order and pay through their QR code menu. Even though it was self-serve, the staff was friendly and they came to check in on our table a couple of times to refill our drinks. The food was fantastic! As soon as you park you can smell the smoker going and it makes your mouth water. I ordered the ribs with a side of beef and beans and Mac and cheese. The cornbread comes with the platter. Ribs were St. Louis style with the bits of cartilage at the end that I really love to chew on. Meat was delicious and fall off the bone. Bbq sauce is ok the sweet side by balances well with a few drops of hot sauce. Portions are very health. The beans were delicious and almost reminded me of chili. Mac and cheese was on point. Overall I highly recommend checking them out. Whether you are in the area or just looking for a great bbq joint in the bay, Jackie's place won't disappoint. For the vegetarians, try their jackfruit "pulled pork" bowl! Also their desserts selection is amazing. Will have to come back to try their peach cobbler and lemon pie!

Sometimes they provide green tomatillo sauce on top of the traditional orange sauce, which is great for cutting through the grease and cheese as it's tangy and sweet. We tried the Magnolia Chop for the first time and while this was great too, the hot link makes everything slightly saltier than I'm used to and is much more heavy and filling. I'll stick with the cheesesteak or chop cheese next time but will try more of their menu items going forward. Food arrives quickly even during the crowds and long lines at the night market. I've never waited more than 35 minutes combined for both the line to order and being called for our number to pick up our food.

Then you got inside and immediately waited in one line to get your tickets and another to select your table...then as soon as you got in you waited in ANOTHER long line to order a drink. Definitely poor planning on part of the event organizers. That said...the event itself was AMAZING! The decor, the staff, the food was phenomenal. Everything on the menu was themed based on the show and the portions were huge, we left very full. The entertainment was fun. For anyone who is a huge Game of Thrones fan, this was an event to remember. We dressed in theme and had a blast taking pictures with the props. It seems the event organizers have some kinks to work out with the venue but I would definitely attend another themed event by them.

SAVE YOUR MONEY!!!…read more Here's the breakdown: ENTRANCE: lined up early to get the tables we wanted. Doors opened about an hour late. Many arrived there after work and didn't eat hoping to scarf down some good food, they were very disappointed. ALCOHOL: decent, pricey, comes with some memorabilia you can take home. If you ordered the pairing, you may or may not have the pairing in time with your meal. Cocktail hour was more than an hour, doors were still closed to the banquet room. Still starving. If you're not a drinker then you'll find yourself waiting/standing somewhere just people watching. FOOD: After over 2 hours you finally get a small appetizer. The butter on the table was apparently decoration for bread that will be served way later and cold. The food comes in slowly and cold. You can tell it was sitting out long. By the way, you share the small servings with other starving attendants who'll hopefully leave some good stuff on the platter for you. "SHOW": there was no show. There were people dressed up as characters, they recited random lines from the show and sometimes poorly. One "scene" did not connect with the previous one. It was literally "actors" saying 2-3 lines then getting off stage. They make for good pictures later though. SERVICE: order every drink you'll ever want at the beginning because it will take you that long to get your drink. Ask to pay the bill before everyone else does because it actually took an over an HOUR (no joke) to get the bill and pay it after we've eaten and asked for the bill. It was a 3-4 course meal and it took forever to get our food...FOREVER. I'm pregnant and had a headache because i was so hungry. I survived off preggy pops and water. DECORATIONS: like a high school Halloween party. Staff dressed up looked good though. OVERALL: good concept, poor execution. I enjoyed going with my family and having a shared experience of something we all enjoyed but we could've thrown a party of our own at home. Would not go again. 2 stars
