    Palace Burger

While attending a Yelp event at St. Elmo last night, I noticed this glorious purple and white food truck selling smash burgers, and one thing I know about myself is my need and desperation for a burger if they smash it. Patty Palace, take me away. Like most food trucks in the big '25, you scan the QR code to place your order so the cook can keep churning out quality burgers instead of slowing down to take orders. My order was simple: a single burger and fries. I placed my order at 8:55 pm, and by 9:10 pm, alongside the other St. Elmo Brewing customers and other Yelp homies, my burger was ready. I sat down at the picnic table right across from the food truck and locked in. After one flash photo for proof, I easily destroyed their Palace Burger. I personally believe food should not be taken to go. It is important to eat it immediately upon receiving it. It's just a way of life. Inside are your classic burger toppings: the finest American cheese, grilled onions, pickles, mustard, and sauce on a glorious potato bun. Of the few things that stayed with me through my picky eater career is yellow mustard, and I don't even notice it. The whole thing was a banger. The fries were extremely crispy on the outside and soft on the interior. A perfect fry. On the side was their house sauce, which was very Thousand Island-esque. I dipped the fries in it, and it elevated them. A quality fry doesn't necessarily need sauce, but I took the sauce here and enjoyed it because their fusion just worked so well. It's nice to know that St. Elmo Brewing Co. has two quality food trucks on their premises, both doing chicken and burgers at the highest level. RIYL: Destroying a burger that tastes straight out of the 1960s.

Patty Palace serves a REALLY good veggie burger! The patty is definitely homemade. The person working was confused when I asked for the regular burger toppings with cheese and mayo and everything just on a vegetable patty, but I explained I was not vegan, and he agreed to do it. The onions smashed into the burger is delicious and the edges still get nice and crispy like a real smash burger. It is pretty greasy, but for a good veggie burger that is very reminiscent of a real burger, this is the best i've had. The food is made fresh to order so there is a bit of a wait. Stop in St. Elmo Brewing and grab a beer to enjoy outside while you wait. My fiance loved their smash burger and the prices are really reasonable. We will definitely go back again!

This review is for the truck on Sixth located at Zilker Brewing. The menu is limited which is fine by me because too many choices can sometimes be overwhelming. They have fries, onion petals, a single or double burger, and a vegan burger. The burgers come with cheese, grilled onions, sauce, pickles, & mustard. The burger bun is perfectly sauce yet holds the burger together without becoming soggy. Smash burgers have been all the rage the last several years and I'm still here for it. Especially when they're cooked up as good as Patty Palace. Whatever they season the patties with amplifies the smash burger experience with a bam! The hand cut fries are lightly seasoned and cooked with a nice crisp on the outside and soft potato inside. For food truck service, I'm gonna say they excel. Fast & friendly. This truck is well worth checking out.

A very solid smash burger after sampling adult beverages throughout the yard for a Yelp event. This was a perfect cheeseburger and one patty was plenty you can get a double and vegetarian option. The burger was dressed with sauce, grilled onions, pickles and onions. I liked how the bun soaked up all the flavors without falling apart. The hamburger had that crispy layer on the outside that gave it tons of additional flavor. I also ordered onion petal which was pretty solid as well but i tend to prefer onion rings. Service was great and it didn't take to long to get my order. There are picnic tables right in front of the food truck and its located right in the St. Elmo brewery compound. Definitely a solid choice at St. Elmo if you don't want spicy boys.

Delicious double smash burgers! We came here on a whim Friday night! Simple ordering from the menu with a QR code... the options are kept to a minimum, but when they know what they are good at, there is no need for a laundry list of options to choose from! We also got a basket of fries and onion petals. I do wish the onion petals were a little bit more thin to get more crispy on the outside but they were still good!!

    Single party and fries

The service is pretty fast and the burger is delicious! Everything you'd expect from a Smash burger spot. The fries & onion rings are okay. Kinda cool to sit outside but also lots of flies haha!

Holy hot dog, yall! I was referred by my friend Justin who works within the Yard complex. I'm so glad I took his recommendation and tried the specialty hot dog from Patty Palace. I just finished one of the best dogs I've ever had, and I'm from the dirty south SC, where a hot dog is considered a decent breakfast. The flavor, presentation, Austin holding it down at the register...is why I'll be back tomorrow and the next day. You guys are doing it RIGHT! The burger is now on deck. Thank you guys

    Double Patty

Burger is solid. Fries and onion rings are ok. Service is efficient and fast. Beer garden vibes, very chill. Will be back.

Love love love! I had been procrastinating visiting this place though it was highly recommended because I didn't want to go to a food truck. My goodness was I wrong to wait so long! This area is so fun with a winery, breweries, pickleball courts, lovely outdoor seating, and so much more. Parking was a little difficult but I went on a Friday night so that's expected. The man at Patty Palace was great and the food itself was too. I wouldn't say it's the best smash burger in Austin but it's high up there for sure. And the fries were great

Came to Patty Palace as my buddy wanted Spicy Boys chicken next door. I didn't want to eat spicy and sweat anymore as it's still 90 degrees outside. Easy to order at Patty Palace and the cheeseburger was good and tasty. Quick service and no frills benches and umbrella for some shade. Solid 3.5 stars

Awesome smash burger! I got a double smash burger with cheese, pickles and smash sauce (they don't have lettuce but you could add onion and mustard) The flavor of the meat was good and the sizing of the patties were good as well. The pickles were juicy and had a crunch (pickle lover approved) and the bun was good. Also grabbed a basic of fries and they were seasoned well and were crispy. YUM all around!

The one thing that surprised me was how filling the single was. We ordered the onion petals and the fries. Everything was amazing to us. We were able to visit when there was a smaller crowd and then noticed they were located next to a brewery which was nice as they both shared the outside tables. We walked off our food by going to the end of the area located at the Yard. There are several places on my list, however, I'd come back for the smashburger again :) 10/18/2024

Delicious, hits the spot burger! Thin lacey pattys, definitely recommend getting a double. Perfectly melted cheese with a balanced flavor coming from the onions and mustard. Just a solid, reliable, pleasing burger. You just order from a QR code, just one person manning the truck. It came out pretty timely! Simple, straightforward ordering process and burger! The truck has plenty of picnic tables to sit at and is connected to st elmo's for plenty of drink options and potentially live music.

Best burgers in Austin in my opinion, I just wish they were on one of the delivery apps, but still worth the trip.

Smash burger was great! They serve it either pickles and mustard. It's a food truck next to a nice brewery.

My BFF and I came here looking for Spin Burger and realized this location had moved in. Sad I…read moredidn't get a burger frisbee, but this was a great substitute. FREE Chocolate Chip Cookie - The cookies are definitely great--no crazy standout, but they had a distinct oat flavor. I can imagine sea salt would enhance the flavor even more. I love chocolate chip, though... and FREE is the best seasoning. Mushroom Truffle - We agreed to split these burgers 50/50, and bro zoned out while eating; I got like 1/4 of it. Hopefully that emphasizes how much he enjoyed this burger. The first thing I noticed was that the patty wasn't as thick. I do like their burgers and how they're medium-rare, but this one was much more packed with mushrooms, per the burger style. If it had the B&B patty, this would've been my favorite. Hold up--I did not know this was an Impossible patty. Not bad, but it does explain the difference in flavor. Still, it paired exceptionally well with the mushrooms. Black & Blue - Very deep flavors. I didn't like it as much as the Mushroom Truffle. In fact, I felt like this was way too saucy. The blue cheese didn't hold the show as much as the rest of the burger, and I'm a sucker for blue cheese. Like, inject Penicillin straight into my soul; obsessed. Anyways, it was just okay. My BFF and I agreed that these burgers are TENDER. Like, "didn't have to chew; it was a soft slush in my mouth" tender. Anyways, the sauce on both of these was on point--the first bite was a very obvious banger of flavors. Okay. I lied; these are ALL Impossible patties. Instantly changed the game because these were very well executed. On the way out, one of the workers (perhaps the owner) asked for our feedback. Apparently, many of these burgers are new menu items, and we got to hear a bit of their backstory (and got another FREE cookie). Some of the loveliest people I've met. I really love what they're doing here, and I'm glad they moved just 15 minutes away from our location. Wishing them the best!

The food is incredible, the atmosphere is welcoming, and the staff truly make this place special. Huge shoutout to amazing team members Ariel and Emily for being so warm and kind. The chef even made our pup Zoloft a pup cup today, which was such a sweet gesture. The lovely woman who helped us during our last visit also gave Zoloft a pup cup, so they've consistently shown kindness to our little family. They even gave complimentary vegan cookies to guests when we arrived (not sure if it was a special promotion, but such a thoughtful touch!). And the ice cream... WOW. Made with lentils, and honestly some of the best ice cream we've ever had--rich, creamy, and unforgettable. Friendly staff, delicious food, thoughtful service, and creative plant-based treats. Mission Burger is a gem in Austin, and we'll absolutely be back again whenever we return to Austin

There is some picnic bench seating if you care to eat there, but each order is ready to take home You can also find a menu and other information posted on the outside. The menu mostly offers burgers, but there are a couple other offerings like a cheesesteak, partner, etc. The staff were very friendly and precessional. I really appreciated that they double checked everything in our to-go bags against what we ordered just to make sure we had everything. Everything was bagged, and the orders had the individual order and special order requests written on top Everything tasted great. The burgers were classic burgers, slightly messy, but very flavorful. The fries weren't quite as crisp as I like, but they were seasoned well and tasty Some tips: Consider ordering online so you can have your meal ready when you arrive The burgers/entrees don't come with fries, so, consider ordering a couple fries to share. One order of fries is more than enough for 2 people to share. To do this just make your meal a combo on the ones you want to have fries. Combos also come with a drink, but it's not a fountain drink it's in cans which they also bag for you Cheers!!

The few negative reviews mentioned bland burgers, but the positive ones say these are the best burgers in town. I thought I couldn't be unlucky enough to be in the minority and receive bland burgers, but, boy, was I wrong! NO SEASONING IN THE PATTIES!! Not even salt? If they had just seasoned the patties like they seasoned their fries, my experience would be completely different. An easy 5 stars. But nope. A solid 2, only because of everything other than the patties. We came at around 8pm on a Saturday night and were the only customers, so maybe that should've been a sign. Also the lot felt kinda sketchy in the dark. Idk if I would have wanted to be there alone at night. Food was also ready in 10 minutes, like the guy told us. FRIES: Thick cut, well-seasoned, good. Looked like a steak seasoning on the fries. I liked it, but since they were thick, the center of the fries were bland, unfortunately. Maybe it would've been less noticeable if we ate them right away. Large serving though. My bf and I only got one combo and couldn't finish the fries with each of our burgers. The burgers are big, at 4 inches wide. THOUSAND ISLAND BURGER: I liked it at first because of the thousand island, but for the bites that didn't have it, I noticed that the patty didn't taste seasoned...like at all. I was shocked at how bland it was without the dressing. MUSHROOM BURGER: The mushrooms had no flavor, probably weren't seasoned at all. The burger, overall, was also very bland. Unseasoned patty here too. The ingredients felt fresh, but it was missing the flavor we were expecting. Really disappointing. They gave ketchup packets in the bag, but we didn't remember they were in there before finishing our burgers. It probably would've really helped, but the burgers shouldn't have needed it to be good.
