Love the Classic ATX cheese burgers! I'd leave the jalapeños in there for some spicy hints but remove them when it's time to consume. Otherwise, it's too spicy unless you are a jalapeño with seeds lover. I also tried the Mañanera, which my partner praised. It's got an egg and bacon in it. A bit too much for me. The Mexicana with jack cheese and guacamole is not bad. You've got to try the fried cheese curds if you feel like splurging on your diet more! The service is excellent. 4.5 Downtown Burger Food Truck came to our neighborhood. My husband got a notification through Facebook from our neighborhood group. He was given a link where he could place an order. We filled it out and chose our pickup time. We saw the truck in a parking lot, we parked and walked up to the ordering/pickup window. We told the person at the window that we placed an order online and she let us know that it wasn't working. So she asked if she could take our order. We agreed, placed our order, and paid. She let us know that it would take about 10-15 minutes as there were orders in front of ours. It wasn't a problem. We just walked around a little bit and before we knew it our food was ready so we took our bag of food and went home to eat. Initially I intended to order the Mañanera Burger but it was not available. So I decided to order the Hawaiian Burger which comes with lettuce, tomatoes, onions, pickles, jack cheese, pineapple, ham, jalapenos, mustard, mayonnaise, and ketchup. I ordered my burger without jalapenos and without mayonnaise. I also ordered a side of onion rings. The burger was delicious. You could taste the char from the grill and it was cooked perfectly. Most of the other ingredients were fresh. The pineapple added a sweet flavor while the ham gave it a slight saltines. The cheese was melted to the burger. My burger could have used a few more small onions and some crisper pickles. The onion rings were really good. They were super crispy on the outside with a good sized onion inside. I usually eat my onion rings with ketchup but I didn't need any. The onion rings were tasty on their own. Overall this food truck had delicious burgers and onion rings. The service was good despite the online ordering system not working. It was a very filling and tasty dinner. read more

I got the classic burger, a cheese burger that comes with lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, jalapeños, ketchup, mustard and mayo (which I customized to remove the mustard and the pickles). It was delicious and I devoured it. I also got two churros for dessert. I think they were supposed to come with chocolate or caramel dipping sauce, but even without the sauce these churros were delectable. The sweet and crispy exterior coated in cinnamon sugar contrasted with the soft interior filled with vanilla bean pastry cream makes for a truly tasty dessert. read more

This place rocks. Just a food truck, but more than that. They serve some of the tastiest burgers I have ever had. And I only tried their double cheeseburger loaded minus the pickles. It was fantastic. Healthy half pound of beef as expected done right, not too salty, or over cooked. It is a new location on Guadalupe and 37th street just half a block from where I live. I was shopping down the strip and before I passed by I smelled a fantastic mix that made me stop by. Glad I did. I saw this spot on Google maps when trying to find a place for a quick lunch near the convention center during SXSW. It's a food truck in a random parking lot but don't let that fool you. I had a super tasty veggie burger and fries here. Not even sure what makes it so tasty - it wasn't like there was any special sauce or anything. But I'll take it! Other reviews say this place is expensive but considering what I've been paying for lunch all week, it's on par. The owner/manager was friendly and there are several picnic tables to sit at. Our community in San Marcos is having an event and the Downtown Burgers food truck is one of the vendors invited to sell/serve food during the 2-day event. My wife, upon reading about burgers available from a food truck perused their website and made plans to go try their burgers after we played golf in the morning. Not reading the fine print on the announcement, we showed up for burgers at 1:30 PM only to find out the Downtown Burgers food truck wasn't scheduled to be there until 3 PM. Hungry and a bit frustrated, we drove back home where it's nice a cool (low to mid 90s out there) and waited until 3 PM to head back to our community's social hub. The truck arrived late and they experienced issues with power so by the time they were ready to take orders, it was closer to 4 PM and I was HANGRY. I just kept chanting this better be worth it. Once my wife placed our orders (Onion Ring burger for her and La Mananera burger for me...we also ordered onion rings and fries to go with our burgers), the cooks were fairly efficient and we were digging into our burgers in no time, inside an air conditioned building. The burgers were good AND messy...the fries and onion rings were fine. The burgers were juicy and flavorful. Why only 3 stars you ask? I guess the biggest hangup I had was the lack of value...$10 for a burger out of a food truck! That's more expensive than most burgers at Hopdoddy and in my humble opinion not as good as Hopdoddy's. I would rather see the $10 for burgers to include fries or onion rings. Lunch for 2 without drinks came out to $30 with tip. read more

I hired Downtown Burgers to cater an event for 40 people. We corresponded with the co owner of this company for months, and the catering was confirmed weeks in advance. The day of they never showed and they never contacted me to let me know they were unable to cater the event. I had to call the owner for assistance in order to have original Downtown Burger representative return my call. I was given an excuse about the truck breaking down and no offer to resolve the issue was offered. I would not recommend this service for any event and I am definitely disappointed in how the situation was handled. Follow Up- After I posted about my experience on Google I read the company's response, and what they are stipulating is untrue. I made all arrangements directly with Downtown Burgers and not Truckster like response stipulates. I have the emails to prove it. It is completely irresponsible for this company to blame Truckster, when they chose to not communicate effectively. A simple response and apology via email would have been the appropriate course of action. It is clear that this is a subpar business who lacks communication skills and professionalism. I agreed to a catering date and price and asked for a contract and payment instructions. I received only an invoice to pay the full amount. I asked again 3 times for a contract and was told it was coming. I finally received a phone call tonight telling me my date was no longer available because they gave it to someone who paid them right away. Do not do business with this vendor. Shoddy management of their services and no contract - apparently they just expect you to pay them a lot of money with no paperwork to back it up. read more

This place reminds me of what a certain fast food chain always wished it could be. Flame grilled patties. Really good crisp french fries. Except local mom and pop shop (shack?) kinda feel instead of corporate giant. Oh and it tastes great. The menu is small, but what they have they do really well. 1/4 pound combo is one patty; the 1/2 pound is two. Get it with cheese and then dress it however you want. Comes with a pretty large bag of fries and a soda of your choice. All cooked to perfection. So if you want something that is the prime example of a no frills backyard bbq burger, this is the place to be. it's not meant to be a bougie fancy burger that is so popular these days. But this place will take you back to fond memories of growing up with that char grilled taste that will cling to you all afternoon as you head back to the office.
