    Sentient Portrait of Paula 3
    Brandon O.

I entered Paula Deen's Family Kitchen in Branson with a modest goal: to consume my weight in butter-leavened carbohydrates. I left with a profound sense of spiritual displacement and an empty stomach. The service was prompt, but the atmosphere took a turn for the supernatural shortly after we were seated. While the staff was professional, they failed to warn us about the sentient portrait photo of Paula Deen hanging in the dining area. Midway through our first course, the portrait's eyes began to track our movements with a predatory glint. Without warning, the 2D Paula detached herself from the canvas, stepped into the three-dimensional realm, and began a localized reign of terror. The Incident Log: The Biscuits: My "Ooo-ee" Butter-Drenched Biscuits were the first casualties. She vacuumed them up with a sound like a shop-vac in a flour factory. The Decor: In a display of indiscriminate hunger, the portrait then turned her attention to the centerpiece. She didn't just smell the decorative flowers; she ate the silk hydrangeas and the ceramic vase they were housed in. The Collateral Damage: My companion's fried chicken was snatched mid-air. Even the sugar packets weren't safe. It is difficult to critique the seasoning of the meatloaf when the restaurant's namesake--or at least a high-pigment manifestation of her--is busy unhinging her jaw to consume the table's napkins. I reached out to our server to ask if this was a scheduled performance or a breach of the space-time continuum. They simply offered us more sweet tea, which the portrait promptly intercepted and drank through the glass. Verdict: If you are looking for a quiet family meal, look elsewhere. However, if you want to watch a piece of wall art achieve apex predator status by eating everything in a 10-foot radius, this is the premier destination in Branson. I am still hungry, but I am mostly just impressed by the portrait's digestive fortitude.

Mac n cheese, creamed corn, beef pot roast with rice, biscuit, candied yams, fried chicken, and tossed salad.

Paula Deen's never disappoints! The food is always fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is soothing and relaxing, and service is always attentive. We got the fried chicken and beef pot roast. Then the sides were the tossed salad, candied yams, mac and cheese, and creamed corn followed by vanilla ooey gooey. Everything was amazing! The prices have increased and the dessert is no longer included in your meal which is a bummer.

If you're an elderly white you will love this place and the food. if you enjoy things that have flavor this is not the place for you.

It's a cute place with a nice little store to buy knickknacks. The food was just average, but it was fun to say we've been there.

Small pieces of chicken, watery pot roast, gummy biscuits, and gluey potatoes. Will not be back.

Huge shoutout to John, Hillary, and Pope--they're a big reason this place feels so welcoming. You can tell they genuinely care and it shows in every interaction. Everything is extremely well priced, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is laid back, fun, and unique. Highly recommend.

Me and my buddy decided to visit Branson for a movie and we decided to stop in at a random place to…read moreeat. We decided on Crazy Craig's treehouse, one that looked like cozy simple affordable food. Upon walking into the establishment, we discovered that the parking lot is a tight entry with the infamous Branson hills. The exterior was appealing and cool to look at yet the interior was cramped and barely any room to sit. They did have a nice area to sit upstairs though the pool table upstairs didn't contain the ball rack and the table was incredibly dirty/unmaintained. Moving onto the service. We were told to sit anywhere and someone would come and check on us, it was several minutes before someone came to check what we wanted with little to no business going on. However they were nice so that was a nice plus. The pricing for this place is a little overpriced for the simple food menu they have. We paid 10 dollars for chips and queso and the serving size that was on the platter was barely enough to feed us both. Our main entrees were easily 15 dollars a plate and not to mention that it took quite a lot of time for everything to come out. The overall taste of the food/drinks were very disappointing. My Dr Pepper was extremely flat no matter a refill or not, the chips were stale, and the queso tasted like fake cheese (only cheese I can compare it to is lunchables). My chicken sandwich I ordered was incredibly subpar: especially since when I pay 15 dollars for a sandwich I want a patty and not two chicken tenders plastered on a bun. Especially the pepper jack cheese on my tender sandwich had absolutely no spice which made me believe it was fake cheese as well. Even the pepper from the shaker only had a hint of the taste of pepper. The worst experience in this first and last visit was the fact that the pepper sauce (hot sauce) was all expired. Our tables sauce had expired on July 2025! I checked other tables and only one of the tables had a September 2027 date the rest had May 2025. So I didn't use any condiments on my food which overall ruined my meal. The only truly good food product I had was the French fries so if you go here just order the fries from the appetizer section and seeing how they are a bar as well: drink while you're here because you will need it to get through main entrees. Overall: friendly slow service, bad food, bad soda, and tight space and parking lot. Not worth your time!
