I've been hearing about Paulie's for the last several years. My neighbor loves this place. I've tried to talk my family (wife & 3 kids) into going about 4 times last year (we're in January). I finally went tonight after hearing about it for so long, to get a pizza and sandwich to go. I'm glad I didn't take my kids. Place narrow, there's nothing wrong with that, but on Tuesday evening, I had to maneuver through people dropping F bombs at the bar on my right and sitting in tables on my left. Oh well, lesson learned. Pizza was half burnt. I ate the most burnt piece before taking the picture. If my kids would had seen it, they may have been weirded out. The pepperoni pizza was sour... Freaking weird... The sandwich was on par with a Wal-Mart pre-order sub I've gotten for parties in the past. If you like extra thick bread, then more power to you. We ordered some pizza and a sandwich for dinner to go. On a Friday night they were busy but it was easy to get inside and more than one employee acknowledged us and offered to help. The bar itself looked clean and not cluttered. The pizza we got was great. A little pricey but heck, that's inflation. Like I said all the bartenders were very friendly and helpful. We were at the same event the night before and she showed up ready to rock. I've never felt more welcomed into a bar from an out of state homie. She works her a** off and the food was wonderful. The actual worst customer service, manager was no help. Food took 45 minutes to come out and it didn't come out all at once. One at a time. The cooks were too busy goofing off and chatting and laughing. Place was incredibly hot, but if you're at the bar there was a fan blowing and the workers were having a great time drinking and eating. They also put a good amount of spaghetti in the sandwich as well! I've had similar at some other places, but it always seemed like a gimmick and never really delivered. Well Pauli's Pizza Pub's Big Al Delivers! Everything just goes together so well, and the bread they use is amazing! We really enjoyed it. It was so good, my better 1/3 made me stop eating it so she could take the rest to work the next day. The only thing I would change is we should have ordered a Large. I will next time. We also tried their pizza since it has "pizza" in the name of the place. We just went for a plain pepperoni. (My true test of any pizza spot) I ordered it my usual way, well done. Paulie's didn't disappoint! Their crust is on the thin side and is light and crispy. Sauce and cheese are just right. I won't say it's the best, but it's definitely above average. I will get it again for sure. The server was awesome and very attentive. I should have gotten her name but I think it was Dani, but I'm not sure. Arrived here on a chill Tuesday Wednesday evening. The restaurant has a front bar area and a rear dining area. That evening, most of the patrons were in the front bar area watching tv and enjoying their beers. The rear area also had several TVs across the walls playing various sports games. Although there were not too many customers, the staff did not clean up the restaurant too well. There were leftover used napkins here and there on the ground. My party of 7 ordered two large pizzas and they were than enough to satisfy us. I think we had half Margherita, half vegetarian, half meat lovers, and half bbq chicken. All the pizzas were typical American style - non thin crust, heavy on cheese, and etc. MARGHERITA - The margherita was definitely overly cheesy. MEATLOVERS - The meat lovers was loaded with meat, maybe a little too much as some slices were dripping with grease. The sausage on the pizza kind of reminded me of low quality spam. The bacon is quite crispy though. All in all, it's not a bad slice for someone who just wants meat. BBQ CHICKEN - this was the best option. It's not too heavy on the sauce, and the chicken is cooked nicely and kind of almost crispy. I enjoyed it. In summary, this is a place to chill with friends but I wouldn't come here looking for amazing food or a particularly clean environment. read more
