Best damn sandwich I ate in recent times! I went here for a lunch break with my fellow Park Ranger. The ambiance looks like a Rocky movie with vintage menus and boxing/ sport pictures. The service is welcoming and felt like grandma's cooking brewing down the hall. I like the scenery.. A classic hole in whole joint :) I ordered the Paul Special sandwich, which consist of a ham and sort of Italian recipe in it. The vinaigrette is so good that enhances the whole sandwich's flavor. And of course a combo meal consist of a drink and a chips. This place is so simple and humble that I will go back here for more :)

Get the torpedo! So so good! Chicken parm is great and the pork sandwich as well! Nice family place

Great Place! Feels like a real Italy sandwich shop. Boxing pioneers everywhere on the walls.

I was craving sandwiches, so my husband took me here to satisfy my craving. I ordered the 6" meatball sandwich with extra cheese, but it didn't come with the extra cheese--slightly disappointing. It also wasn't as saucy as I'd hoped, but still a solid meatball sandwich that hit the spot. My husband got the 6" Italian sandwich. The flavors were great, but he felt it could use a bit more shredded lettuce. The highlight was the hospitality from the owner, Paul. He was incredibly welcoming, friendly, and made for great conversation. The ambiance had a classic mom-and-pop feel, decorated with soccer photos and trophy pictures.

Menu board as of my 10/16/24 visit. Ceiling tiles in disrepair and overall, a little messy.

Working in the area and decided to stop in for lunch. I had a hankering for a Meatball Sub or a Philly Cheesesteak, and it was suggested that I try their Meatball Sub, and that I also just order a "half", as they were huge. It came with toasted bun, plenty of cheese, but the meatballs were a little on the smaller side. Also, the sauce was a little garlicky, but still tasty. They did have some good deli-style "Dirty" brand chips in several flavors, which I enjoyed. The dining area is not the most modern or updated. There were four tables and four chairs at each table, but also a lot of stuff stored in the dining area. The kitchen work area is a little bit dark, there were panels missing over some of the lights, and the beverage refrigerators were only partially stocked (less than half full). Parking is easy in the large shopping center lot. I was a little surprised, as Yelp reviews for this place rave about the food and service, and I thought that it was quite average. Maybe I was in on an off day. I would stop in again when working in the area to give them another try.

See that right there? I circled it for you. That, my friend, is a good sub. The Paul's Special.

The reason they call it a deli is because it's DELICIOUS! If you want an American style sub sandwich and you're in Westminster, CA, then you have to try Paul's Deli. I've eaten the subs from here about four or five occasions. I have never been disappointed. I like the roast beef and the Paul's special. This deli is small and unassuming. The decor is ALL boxing related so that is pretty cool. The staff is super friendly. And they put pride in their craft...crafting a sub you can depend on. Paul's Deli....There just ain't no substitute!

Not a lot of places you get to interact with the owner. Paul welcomed us with a lot of enthusiasm and energy. You can tell he's proud of his business...respect! Wife was craving. Meatball sandwich and it did the job. I had the recommended Italian, both 1/2 subs and it felt like a full sub at other places. It was good. I like mine drenched in oil and vinegar so I should've asked but it was a nice balance of flavors. The meatball could use more sauce but (again we should've asked) but it was good nonetheless. We will be back. Great neighborhood sandwich spot we found.

    Prosciutto Sub

This is the best prosciutto sub I've had hands down. Perfect amount of toppings and meat. The bread is perfect with the right amount of salt. The young man who made our sandwiches and took our order was so polite and kind. The white pasta salad is so garlicky and I mean that in the best possible way. I'll def come back. The owner was kind enough to give us a cannoli which was just a nice touch and perfect amount of sweet to balance all the savory.

This place gives me NYC deli vibes, the service is amazing and the turkey sandwich was one of the best I've ever had! Bread is perfect, turkey and cheese was fresh and the veggies and Italian dressing on top was Highly recommend this place!

Meatball sub was perfect. We both had a soda, sub and a side for like $18 bucks and it was delicious. Absolutely delicious.

Best deli in HB! The Cuban & Corned Beef sandwiches are the best I've had. I definitely would recommend their antipasto salad as well!

This deli is a slice of heaven. I've tried multiple items off of their menu including the Italian…read moresub, pastrami, chefs specials, the bread puddings, and more! The desserts are a MUST TRY. Nothing ever disappoints. The prices are very good for the amount of food that you get. Bread is baked fresh every day and the quality is beyond better than from those other restaurants who use premade that come out of boxes (yuck!). Inside, the place is clean, and there are things to look at inside while waiting, like the food items they sell on the shelf! The service from every employee I've encountered there has been beyond excellent. They are all willing to answer questions, give suggestions, and provide a great service. Whatever distance away you are, this place is worth the drive. Support a good local family business!!!

Going in we see that you order at the far counter. A young friendly lady helped us. The lovely missus wants a warm Pastrami sandwich... my eyes are on the sign that says egg salad made fresh. I noticed it comes in a medium sized roll. Thus, I ordered a Tuna that was on 16 inch roll for later consumption. The missus noticed a dessert item and it was the carrot cake bread pudding she wanted. We ordered the items to take home. No problem with payment as a CC is convenient. The missus likes that she could sit while our orders were prepared. I like the decor on the wall of baseball and basketball great athletes and team flags. The store section is small, but you really come her for the sandwiches and daily made breads. Our name is called and we hurried home to eat. The missus enjoyed her pastrami, she says it had just the right amount of meat to roll ratio. I was happy with the egg salad as it was made the way I would with chunks of hard-boiled eggs inside of a chewy and crusty roll with tomato and shredded lettuce. The missus saves me half of the carrot bread pudding that she says has sweet icing. As I write this I have just finished a quarter of the tuna and it was a good choice. I liked the addition of slices of provolone cheese and just the right splash of mayo. DeSimone Deli & Bakery was a great choice for our sandwiches. The menu is extensive and I would come back for the Italian sub.

*DISCLAIMER* The 4 stars are for the FOOD, not the service…read more I've been coming to Katella Bakery for years, and the food has never disappointed me. Everything I've ever ordered has been incredible. From the bakery items to the salads, and don't even get me started on the pastrami. It's always a melt-in-your-mouth experience. Unfortunately, our visit on the evening of 7/28 was a huge disappointment because of the service. We came in around 7:00 p.m. just wanting to unwind after a long day. The hostess was wonderful as always, but our server, Mayra, was unfriendly from the start. My boyfriend and I ordered a pastrami pizza and an order of zucchini to share, and it immediately felt like she was irritated that we weren't ordering more. She brought our bread and pickles, and then disappeared. Another server brought out our food, and throughout the rest of our meal, she never checked on us once. I needed ranch for my pizza and a refill on my iced tea. We made eye contact several times, but she never came over to our table. What made the experience even harder to ignore was that we were the only Mexican couple seated in that section, while the surrounding tables were all white. From where we were sitting, it seemed like those tables were receiving attentive service while ours was consistently overlooked. I can't say for certain why we were treated differently, but that's honestly how it felt, and it left a bad impression. We still tipped her well because that's the kind of people we are, but the service simply didn't match the quality of the food. I'll absolutely keep coming back because the food is phenomenal, but I sincerely hope management addresses service like this. My rating is for the food, not for the experience we had with our server.

We were greeted as soon as we entered and seated right away. The restaurant was already bustling with many diners. We arrived at a good time, since there were a handful of opened tables available. Our waiter came over after a few minutes of sitting to greet us and take our drink order. After receiving our drinks we ordered: side of bacon for Mt daughter, fried zucchini for the table, I got the Club sandwich sans the onion and went with sourdough bread instead of the wheat, listed on the menu, with a side of fries(for the daughter) and my friend got the fried chicken sandwich with a side of fries. The bacon and zucchini came out about 15 minutes later. Our meals came out another 10 minutes after. I really enjoyed my sandwich and zuchinni zucchini. My daughter ate everything, her bacon and fries. Afterwards I picked up a few cake slices for later: carrots, oreo, and chocolate. All were delicious. When we left, around 12:30pm and the restaurant was packed and so was the parking lot. Overall, had a great lunch and would definitely go back for more.
