This is our standard go-to hamburger joint! We like that the meat is chargrilled and the burgers are served "animal style" without having to ask like at In-n-Out. The hamburger/cheese burger specials are great, they all include a drink, and you can substitute your fries for onion rings, or even zucchini. They have ONLY outdoor seating, so this place is jumping during the summer and not so busy during the winter. However, given that we no longer have a "winter" in So Cal...I image it will be busy year round. So, why only 3 stars...I don't like that the place is aging disgracefully. There are broken tables and chairs everywhere. AND, today I had to use the restroom which was not clean and VERY outdated. I always stop by this place whenever I'm in the area. Paul's has friendly service and great food! My personal favorites are the zucchini fries, tornado fries, bacon cheeseburger, the pastrami sandwich, and their chicken salad. The portions are big too so you can easily share with a few people or just save it for another meal! There is limited parking though so sometimes you'd have to wait to find parking or park on the street. And they do have outdoor seating but this place can get crowded sometimes so you would have to wait. It was a little crowded today but we just took our food and ate at a nearby park. Definitely check this place out when you get the chance. read more

Prepare to clean and disinfect your own tables. Not a single table, chair, or counter was cleaned while we were there. No employees came out. If my personal Lysol wipes were indicative of anything, it's clear they never wipe the tables themselves since even before Covid. I recommend bringing your own wipes or taking food to go. read more

the parking lot was a tight space and only offered one handicap parking. Bathrooms were single stall but small. Someone with a wheelchair might have a hard time accessing the bathroom restaurant was very peaceful and quiet which is perfect for those with noise sensitivity. The quality of the good was great. Total gem of a place!! Drove past this eatery so many times and so we finally decided to check it out. Definitely not disappointed. Great flavors and atmosphere. Most if not all of the seating areas are outdoors but with this awesome California weather you'd be fine. Try those fried zucchini!!! Food was absolutely astronomically delicious. Wanted to take a picture but devoured it before I could. Decided to get food here because of the reviews/pictures and glad I did. I decided to try some zucchini fries in addition to my order since I've never had them before and I like zucchini and I like fries, so I figured, why not? Can't eat there anymore because my child was recently diagnosed with a life threatening shrimp allergy and come to find out that they fry shrimp in the same fryer and the same oil as all of their other fried foods. Pro I have to admit that every single thing that I've had here is good. Burgers, Pastrami, Fries, Chili, all good. Con price point and value #1. Everything is overpriced. Very few "combo" items on the menu. There isn't a "burger" combo on the chalk board or menu. All must be purchased separately. $14.19 for burger fries and coke. Fries $4.99, very small portion. Chili cheese fries $6.99, again very very small portion, small portion of chili, only on the top , not throughout! You have to bus your own table, clean wipe. I like Paul's, it's convenient and good however it's way more expensive than comparable burger joints with the fries portioning much smaller. Fries are not like burgers, your only get one burger. Fries are cheap and are scooped into bags and to have a joint give you small scoops of fries at $4.99 is unacceptable. I NEVER order fries at Paul's. It's a ripoff, unlike many of the other items that are just plain overpriced. I'll still go there in a pinch, but not if I can avoid it. read more

Not to exaggerate but the zucchini is cut, Breaded, and fried differently. Even the cheese is different. I couldn't eat them! Not worth the macros. As a chain, they should serve the same thing. I've eaten at Pauls probably 30 times, different locations. Mostly good, but I just at at the Los Al location, not so good. I've had the chicken gyro salad 3-4 times in the past at Los Al, always had a FULL breast sliced longwise, see the photo they advertise. This time had a full breast sliced longwise, but only 1/2 breast was used for my salad. Someone else got my other half. And...wait for it...they increased price by $1. Not gonna be back. Not happy as this was my favorite burger joint and every time I travel I go here for my home coming. Outdoor seating only under a canopy and parking is limited during rush hour. I been coming to Pauls since the early 90's. This is a favorite and I love their onion rings, mushrooms and Zucchini deep fried. The hamburgers are my favorite along with their Greek chicken dinners. This is a Los Alamitos and Rosmor local spot and they definitely get business from word of mouth. I have been here 3 times and have been extremely impressed with the service and the food is excellent . My first visit I had the grilled chicken salad, fried zucchini and mushrooms . My second visit I had the fish sandwich and fried zucchini. My third, which was yesterday I drove out from Marina del Rey because I had been craving for their zucchini and mushroom. I also decided to try the colossal burger, which was the best burger I've ever had . My friend that turned me onto Paul's always orders the colossal burger and now I know why. The food here is delicious and you get enough to share . It was worth the drive and what's makes it even better is the service is always excellent . I will definitely be back . read more

The burgers are exceptional! This is my mom's favorite burger place and my family has our go-to order: Garden burger, cheeseburger and avocado burger. ALWAYS spot on! Huge portions, including fries! Two of us usually share an order of fries because it's more than filling. And I think they're the best fast food fries I've ever had - not too greasy, soft, crunchy or salty. We visit so often I'm surprised they don't know us by name. HIGHLY recommend. Hard working people there! I actually didn't know it even existed until a coworker of mine suggested this place. First, let's start off with the customer service. I think these guys do an amazing job at it, they're very friendly and the atmosphere is always well-kept. I really love the attitude they put up especially every time I come here on rush hour, it's always packed. What I had was the "Colossal Burger," and I highly recommend it. It's a pastrami based burger w/ extra grilled onions on it. I also had a side of fried zucchini & mushrooms (which is really really good). The portions are actually huge for its price, so maybe that's why I keep eating here, lol. It's really juicy and I'm not sure how they wrapped it, but everything is always in place. Some "gourmet" places, the buns and everything are always falling apart. I'm open to try their other burgers, but I really like the Colossal for now. read more
