So much to chose from. If you feel like carbing up and pigging out, this is definitely the spot. I have had the chicken sandwiches, cheeseburger, feta burger (mmmmm), Ooooo... and you can't forget the feta fries. If you order the feta fries, the order is very large and could feed at least three people unless of course you are just there for the fries. Seating is all outdoor on a large shaded patio, so it can be a little rough on a hot summer day. I will certainly be coming back here, I am looking forward to trying the Gyro. read more

This has been our standard go-to for nearly 3 decades! It always has something for everyone and nobody goes home disappointed. #1-Fried Mushrooms are a MUST HAVE! The simple, breaded crunch on the mushroom was so good with a splash of cool ranch dressing, you won't regret ordering it! Oh yes! Paul's Place: As a person who typically eats poorly; the reason I keep this place on my map of food places are the fried zucchini. Sure there are 100 other items on the menu (which I've had about half of) but it's the fried zucchini that I must have with my orders. Ok, maybe the fried zucchini isn't the healthiest choice for myself (or anyone else), but they make them exceptionally good. Their other stuff is good too, so eat what you'd like... they have lots to offer. Parking is problematic when they're busy. Oddly enough, I've never had any issues finding a place to sit. With that said; the seating is outdoors, and cozy. A bird once flew into the back of my head, but that wasn't a deal breaker. Can't believe I live a few blocks away missing out on this semi-hidden fast food area...until now. I decided to order the California Burger Combo. 1st of all, I LOVE that they actually serve their burgers WITHOUT mayo; I don't mind mayo in it, unless cooks slab too much of this goop. Then, at the 1st bite, I can feel the crisp sourdough bread sandwiching the fresh lettuce and tomato, savory patty, and the very tasty 3 cheeses (I think it's American, cheddar and swiss) embedded in this yellow paper-wrapped burger. Amazingly, mayo is not needed--which is, personally, a very good thing! And it costs around $7 and is cheaper and way, way, way more delicious than the SuperBurger at Ruby's. Oh, and next time definitely bring a bud to share the fries, unless you're particularly gluttonous. I didn't expect the fries to be served almost super-sized, and as a result I barely finished 3/4 of the serving size lol. Since it's walking distance and the fact that it's extremely affordable, I'm heading there next time to try their Greek entrees =). read more

Someone purchased a steak sandwich for me and I was a little disappointed in the sandwich. The sandwich was dry and the steak had a lot of fat in it and was tough that made it a little hard to chew and rather difficult to eat. Think I will try their burgers if I come back. read more

I will come back to Paul's Place. I wasn't thrilled with their Pastrami Sandwich. I would give the Pastrami Sandwich 2 out of 5. However, the menu looked great and my buddy had the Gyro plate and thought it was great. I ordered the feta fries and I highly recommend them. They are thinly sliced potato's that are deep fried like potato chips with feta cheese on the top. I took a photo of my meal and posted it to the page. You probably won't be disappointed if you grab your lunch here. I would recommend not eating at the restaurant because it was smoking hot and all they have is outdoor seating. This is a cool place in Los Alamitos that we never knew about. Was refered to by friends so we decided to give it a try. Everything is outdoor. Got the California burger combo. This was a burger patty on sourdough with lettuce, tomato, and cheese. Very yummy. Even my 4 year old loved it. The combo comes with fries (enough for 2 people & and 4 year old)and a drink. I had a cheeseburger, which was equivalent to any average greasy-spoon I.e., Astro or Fabulous Burger. Hubby got a gyro because we heard they were good here. I recently discovered this place on Yelp. This will be my new go to place for fried zucchini and fried mushrooms. Both are really good. It comes out crispy, light, not too oily and the ranch is delicious. Their pastrami is the best I've had and I've tried a lot of pastrami sandwiches in my life. The pastrami is juicy and the bread is soft. Their club sandwich is also delicious. It comes with ham, turkey, bacon, American and Swiss cheese, lettuce and tomato. The twister fries are also very good. It's seasoned curly fries. The serving here is huge. Each sandwiches can be shared between 2 people and each sides of fries, zucchini and mushrooms are enough for 3-4 people. read more

Tonight, I ordered the mushroom burger with bacon added. Boy oh boy...I cracked open the box and I swear I drooled all over my food. This was my first time to this restaurant. I enjoyed the chicken gyro salad, and although I do like Greek olives, there were SEVENTEEN of these non-pitted olives in my salad. That can be dangerous, especially when you think that you've picked most of them out. I ate seven of them, and threw the other ten away. Your order is taken at one window, you are given a number, and when your number is called, you pick up your food at another window. More often than not, when the girl at the counter called the number, it was not understandable as to what she was saying. Sometimes I would hear a single number such as, "Four" or "Zero" but many other times I would hear, "Eh", "Fit", "Mep", "Zipth" "Furtfot" or some other unrecognizable announcement other than a clear voice saying something like, "number 7 your order is ready, number 7." I might suggest some retraining on microphone etiquette, diction and enunciation. Otherwise, I would like to come back and try one of their burgers sometime! read more

Never will get my business... ever! Multiple websites, google, and Yelp! Say they close at 10pm. I came at 9:03pm and they tell me that they close at 9pm. I asked the manager if he could make an exception since multiple sources said they closed at 10pm and I drove from out of town just to get there food and he told me no. We've been eating at Paul's for years but after my experience earlier this week I won't be going back. I ordered the gyro chicken salad that came with a side of tzaziki sauce. $18 for a double cheese burger combo. For that price you would expect either exceptional food or service, but you get neither here. The ordering staff treat you with total indifference. It seems that they are frustrated that you are even there in the first place. There is no "hello," "welcome," or even a "thank you," or any eye contact. The food is exactly the same as you would get at any generic burger restaurant. The tables are broken down and they are not cleaned. You get a bunch of packets of ketchup to throw on your fries, which could just be alleviated by providing ketchup bottles. They will not ask you if you are dining in or taking home, so if you do not bring it up, they will just throw everything in a bag automatically. I've got to think this is not the vision that "Paul" (whoever he is), had in mind when he started this place. Not an experience that I ever care to repeat. read more
