Ordered 2 fiesta size bean cheese rice burritos and 3 quesabirria tacos with consome, warm and juicy burritos that melted in my mouth . More than enough for one person . The quesabirria was meaty juice and lots of flavor . The consume took it over the top . I even drank the remaining consome after all the tacos were gone . My tummy was satisfied ! Along with each order were tortilla chips snd salsa . If the burritos had a little more volume I'd give it a 4.5 But overall a good time and meal. Help out these locals ! read more

I've been a customer at La Chata Mexican grill many times and have picked up plenty of orders for my family here, which is why my most recent experience was disappointing. I ordered a burrito from the menu board, which clearly states "choice of any meat." However, when I paid, I was charged an additional $0.97 for the meat I selected. If the menu advertises a choice of any meat, customers shouldn't be surprised with an extra charge depending on the option. I brought this to the staff's attention after paying and mentioned that the menu board may need to be updated so it accurately reflects pricing. Unfortunately, the concern was not really addressed. It may seem like a small amount, but it's really about clear and honest menu pricing. I've supported this place many times before, so this was disappointing. I'd appreciate hearing from the owner about whether the menu will be corrected so future customers aren't confused by the "choice of any meat" wording. read more

Local to my job and one of my usual lunch spots!! Parking isn't the best since it's a smaller lot, but it's manageable depending on the time you go. I usually order during the lunch rush, so I preorder ahead and it can take anywhere from 11-20 minutes. Most of the time I'll park at the Shell station to get gas, leave my car there, and walk over while my food finishes up. Easy little system for myself. The team here is honestly great. They've been trying to hire more front staff, but the new girl they recently hired is super sweet and has such good energy. Honestly though, everyone there has always been kind and accommodating, so please be patient as it's a small business and they work hard. Food is always solid, never had a bad experience. Portions are good, plenty of options, and the salsa is SO good. I always ask for an extra one because your girl is a sauce person. I'd gladly pay for it too, that's how serious I am about the salsa, but they usually just toss me an extra. My job has catered from them twice and we've also eaten there as a team a few times. They're always accommodating and consistent. Also one of my favorite things: they have a stamp card. Collect 10 stamps and you'll get a free SUPER burrito! To me, purchase 10 burritos and the 11th is free and yes, I've already earned at least 3 free burritos, so that should tell you everything you need to know. I do believe that the stamps for meant for 10 purchases in general. For my stamp card, the new girl she fixed it, it is still 10 purchases, however and not 11. She and I both know that because she'll see me soon for my free SUPER burrito. They also have a food truck nearby and promote the location inside the restaurant, so definitely ask about it if you're interested! read more

This is a very small restaurant tucked in a strip mall. Loved the atmosphere. Painted chairs with authentic Mexican heritage. The food is prepared fresh to order and is very good. Burritos are reasonably priced with great flavor and options. The plates, however, are bit pricey. My biggest complaint is they charge a lot $6 for chips and salsa. They tease you with about 15 chips and some salsa. Next time we will stick with burritos to avoid a lunch for three that was $88. read more

First off how lucky am I to be so close to such an amazing restaurant! I have eaten from here 3 times and each time I have been pleasantly surprised. My partner ordered dinner for my family and EVERYTHING was so good! The mole really reminded me of my childhood. Wow. The meat inside just melted and the mole was a perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I got the taco salad with grilled chicken and that was AMAZING. I've been hooked on those crunch wraps tho, I've had some asada, pastor and beef and WOW! I just want to say thank you for being open when I'm hungry. And for the amazing food and service. I have yet to eat in, but I would like too soon. The restaurant is beautiful and there is room for people to eat in if need be! This is my go to place. We ordered takeout from La Chata and it was a solid experience. Prices were fair, portions were good, and everything we tried was tasty. In particular , asada fries tasted fantastic and had great toppings. Mostly though nothing was over the top or mind-blowing, but everything was well-cooked and flavorful. Delicious not incredible but very delicious. The only reason I can't give it five stars is the sauces. I'm a big fan of hot sauces, and theirs just didn't stand out. Luckily, I had some favorites at home to use instead. Sauces really weren't very tasty. I got four or five different hot sauces on the side, mid at best. Albondigas- 1/5 shocked that they sold us this soup when all it was was water boiled and veggies and meat thrown in. Absolutely zero flavor, I called back and let them know they might have forgotten to season the soup all together. 4. Hands down one of the worst Burritos I've ever had. Finally had to call it a day and trash it. Salty mushy, horrible taste. I don't think I'll never have another burrito as awful as this one again in my life. Their prices were terrible as well. They hid the chips in the back. I've never seen that before. You get literally five chips in a bag. They also gave a little tiny thing of salsa. I'd ask for a second one. Wasn't worth it because the salsa was also terrible. I ordered the shrimp fajita plate. The portion was generous. Rice, beans, guacamole, salsa, lettuce and radishes. The tortillas were hot and fresh. The shrimp peppers and onions are served in a small cast iron pan. Super tasty. The only complaint is that the shrimp are served unpeeled! This was so odd. Fries are just that, over meat they can get soggy quickly, but we notice this at almost any place that has carne asada fries locally, have to go to San Diego for the real ones! Was having drinks at roadside 22 and there is an option to scan a QR to order and have food delivered from La Chata. Seemed like a great option for us and we ordered a few items. After waiting for 40 minutes I was finally done waiting and walked across the parking lot to find out what the issue was. I walked into the restaurant to find 3 patrons inside and the waiter and chef. All people seemed more concerned with the soccer game on the tv then much else. I asked about my long awaited order and was told it was ready. Was told they were too busy to complete the delivery. (The food had clearly sat for sometime as it was lukewarm, a text or call to inform us of the delivery not being an option would have changed this as we could have received the food while it was hotter and fresher) Most of our group enjoyed their food quite a bit. But of course mine was not correct. Which was another irritating issue. It tasted fine but was not exactly what I ordered. All of this after I left online a $5 tip as we were under the impression that the food was being delivered. For all these reasons I am leaving a 2 star review. If I had received the right order or been offered my tip back as I did not receive the service I pre-tipped for, then this could have easily been a 3-4 star experience. Ah man I wish I was able to take pics of my food, it smelled soooo good that we ate it immediately. We've been on the hunt for new taquerias as of late - let me tell you this is the real deal! I ordered via doordash for pickup yesterday and they were straight up making it fresh for me when I was picking it up! The greeted me upon arriving and the cashier chick was so nice! It's really homey inside, but enough about that - the FOOD. We got Carne Asada Fries and man... they were FIRE. I typically don't trust getting them anywhere but San Diego, but these pretty much top anywhere. The way they packaged everything so nothing was soggy was brilliant. The tacos were scrumptious.
