Taco Salad. So yummy. I'll definitely order again.

Taco salad. I'll definitely order again. Meat, rice, beans, lettuce, carrots, salsa, cheese, ranch, chipotle dressing.

My tri tip taco was 90% FAT! Horrible food. Deep fried hamburger aco with ground meat in it. Cook in back wears sunglasses, maybe that's why he can't see what he is serving. This was meat in a tri tip taco

Love this small authentic Mexican restaurant. Clean dining area with cute brightly colored tables/chairs. Food is full of flavor and quality is superior. Service is quick and the server is friendly. My favorite is the Carnita plate while others love the Carna Asada. This restaurant really cares about their food!

One of the owners sent this. Instead of vowing to improve their service, he accused me of lying and harassment. Bad business, Enrique.

Better service now. Seems they read their Yelp reviews. I will raise the score further if the good service continues. Note: I updated this prior to reading the lovely note the owners left me (see picture). We'll see if that affects my rating.

Feb 2 2025 3.5 stars…read more Lately our go to Mexican eats is Cinco De Mayo in Martinez. Christians-smh. It is Sunday and Cinco is closed. The server and service here at Isla was perfect. I pointed out to he waiter that he had a crumb on his chin and he wiped and chuckled like a nice champ. The music is pleasant but a bit louder than needed so I brought out the earplugs. The entire indoor setup is nice. Our food is arriving after what seems like a long wait meaning either the food is being served fresh, hot and tasty, or we are in for a mediocre experience. Our two plates arrived. Chilli relleno and Grilled chicken enchilada. I'm not a fan of the aesthetics of the smallish squair white plates. Reminds me of trying to look upscale. We own plates like these and that didn't work. Wife's enchilada plate was covered with three hot and very tasty chicken filled food bombs plus sides. The chili plate looked a little weak (too much plate showing) but that was the tastiest chilli relleno ever in 40 years of me enjoying these. Served hot with cheese filled up to the ying yang, an extra spiciness I have never had before that I loved and me wishing I had a spoon to scrape up the end of the sauce. Unfortunately the smallish rice and bean servings on both plates were luke warm and tasted so so. . I had similar hotter to those with tv dinners back in the day. The two plates and a coke at $43 has me scratching my chin on whether we will make that drive again. That is unless it is Sunday. Then possibly. .

The…read morefirst time I tried it at Isla, however, I was completely let down--the meat was bland and the burrito felt stale. After giving it some thought, I decided to return and explore what it was about Isla that everyone raved over. This time around, I ordered the fish tacos, and I was hooked! Isla's fish tacos are phenomenal--easily the best in the area and a must-have every single time. I usually go for the tilapia, though I've sampled the red snapper as well. They come out super crispy on the outside yet remain incredibly moist inside, with the salsa and toppings melding together perfectly. I also visited their new location today and was pleasantly surprised by the ample parking and comfortable seating. The space is beautiful, making it even more enjoyable to stop by for those irresistible fish tacos. Here's a quick rundown of my ratings: Fish (all varieties): 8.7/10 Birria: 7/10 (good, but not their standout item) Carne Asada Super Burrito: 5.8/10 When it comes to satisfying my fish taco cravings, Isla remains the only choice.

To my pleasant surprise, the Yelp reviews were actually pretty solid too, so I figured why not give it a shot. The menu was pretty basic/standard, with all the usual Mexican food staples like Burritos, Tacos, Enchilada Plates, etc. But because it was my first time here, I decided to keep it simple and order a Regular Burrito with Carne Asada as my protein of choice. To my surprise, the burrito was actually pretty good. The Carne Asada had a lot of flavor and included a slight smoky taste to it, which isn't something I typically get from other nearby Mexican spots. The Reg Burrito size was decent. Not huge not small. My one issue was that the Burrito wasn't wrapped very tightly so when I picked it up, it kind of flopped to one side, and especially after I cut it in half, the filling started spilling out everywhere. Still though, the flavor was good. Price was quite standard too, at about $13.50 as of May 2026. Judging it solely based on the flavor, I'd come back to try some of their other dishes. One thing to keep in mind though is the restaurant itself is pretty small on the inside, so it might be a little cramped if you're coming with a big group.

Price point: great. Food: great. All the meats are juicy and flavorful. Salsa roja has the perfect amount of spice. The tomatillo salsa has a great balance of zing and flavor. Location: tucked in a corner of the strip mall with TJ Maxx next to a a nail salon and a large empty storefront. The outside of this restaurant leaves more to be desired but don't let that fool you. First time eating food from here an definitely not the last. Also the cherry on top, the limes are not dry! No review for service since I did a doordash pickup.

ONE lime slice for $1.50 is absolutely absurd when a customer is paying almost $18. And the fact that Alex and Luis were so RUDE about it is ridiculous! Alex literally said "we charge for everything. If you want sour cream or guacamole it costs money" ummm sir I'm not asking for sour cream or guacamole, I'm asking for a tiny slice of lime to give your bland taco some flavor. They were so condescending and rude I'm seriously still in shock. Safeway has and ENTIRE lime for 33 cents and 99 cents if you're feeling fancy and want an organic lime. Price gouging at its finest. What kind of Mexican restaurant charges for a lime slice or even a "side of limes" when you're spending almost $18 on a meal?! Ridiculous! I have secondhand embarrassment for them. The owner or whoever represents their social media responded that they calculate every item used. Ummm either their calculations are off or they're straight up price gouging liars. I've read their other reviews and I see the same theme going on with price gouging and rude and terrible customer service. They obviously truly do not care about their customers.

Drinks always made deliciously especially their margaritas! We can't ever get enough of their Salsa and bean dip. We've even come by to pick up just that lol. Every-time we have gone the staff has always been super friendly and attentive. Restaurant itself is large and spacious.

Usually, we call in our order, but this time I decided to order through their website so I could pay ahead and schedule lunch pickup. That's when I noticed something shocking. The pricing on their website is much higher than on other platforms. On DoorDash, a regular taco is $3.85. On their own website, the same taco is listed for $6.04. The description online says "two soft corn tortillas," which I assumed meant two tacos (especially at double the price). When I picked up the order, I explained the pricing difference to the employee, hoping for clarification. Instead of being helpful, he was dismissive, made me feel small, and treated my question like it was silly. He even showed me their in-store total for three tacos $13.72 which made my point exactly: why was I charged $22.38 for the same three tacos just because I ordered through their own site? It's disappointing to feel taken advantage of as a loyal customer, and even more disappointing to be treated poorly when simply asking for an explanation. Unfortunately, this experience has me rethinking whether we'll be back. If you're gonna order ahead do it through door dash.
