Extremely disappointing experience. My husband bought a beautiful blue two stalk orchid for my birthday on the 13th. I always have orchids in our home. By the 20th, every blossom drooped. Usually our orchids last perfectly for a month or two & often re-bloom. My husband returned it to the store, spoke with the department manager & store manager and asked for some help. Both advised their policy was not to do anything after 5 days. Final answer. We have been satisfied regular customers for over 20 years. Based on that attitude with no acknowledgement of the problem, no solution, no effort to make any amend we will not return to the store. So much for great customer service. It never ceases to amaze me how empty this store is! It is a fantastic grocery store, packed with excellent organic produce, fabulous cheeses, excellent wines and sprits, high end meats and fish and delicious bakery. I live within a few miles from this store so I ve had the misfortune of crossing paths with some of the rudest and nastiest employees, specifically the cashiers and workers in the hot deli department. There is no need for me to go into the details since these people are not worth my time. Needless to say, I will NEVER shop here again. Kindness and compassion should be the minimum requirements for a human being so don't be fooled by the appearance of a pretty store when the people have no hearts. read more

It was a pleasure shopping at this Pavilion's this week. Especially was impressed with the deli and the bakery. The custom cake made our occasion wonderful. True experts run that department. Terrible Customer Service Award. Goes to.... The blonde gal who worked the last two Sundays (deli)(name starts with an S, sorry forgot it). Wow. Almost comical how just rude she is. How she snuck thru the hiring process is beyond me. I frequent Pavilions at several locations often- always great service. My girlfriend and I stop here on route to the beach most every Saturday or Sunday--grab a sandwich at the deli and off for sun. This person should not be customer facing or should be RE-trained. Some of her greatest hits... Each time we had to wait while she was gossiping or complaining about someone or something both times for about 3 minutes to her fellow employee- it was as if we interrupted her conversation each time. My girlfriend is soft-spoken, and English is her second language so at times she was not heard clearly which angered our deli person- when she turned to get bread, or putting our sandwiches in the toaster, cursing or speaking under her breath... shaking her head on several occasions. Really put off when there is a request for bacon, she is putting the wrong items on the sandwich and we brought it to her attention or anything within the relm of ordering a sandwich... Bizarre angry behavior. She was not just unpleasant.. she was rude. The pesto bin was empty and said we could not have pesto on the sandwich, as they are out. (Turkey Pesto Sandwich) (Not even lunch time quite yet) Naturally I asked if she could open another container (they had 25 containers in the veggie section) to which she replied with a stern NO. We would have paid the extra... even paid for the darn container ... which is the exact container they use in the deli anyway... I could go on .... As a professional who has managed people, I would replace her immediately. Maybe she had two terrible days- I even asked her the first time "wow, are you having a bad day". She replied, "No, I just got here".... Oh my we thought! Maybe because we show up in our bathing suits, t shirts, flip flops she thinks- we don't deserve common courtesy? Perhaps if I was wearing one of my suits and was with a regional manager she would be more accommodating... At any rate, she was so bad I brought it to the attention of the Sunday Manager- who was friendly- and said he would speak to her. Won't be the last complaint she gets ...Trust me- she's toxic to her team, and this store. I haven't seen such poor service in the service industry in years... yes.. years... read more

Slow... They took out the self check outs and put in 2 express lanes. I've never seen more than one express lane open. Management seems to always have their slowest checkers in the express lane... To make matters worse, the express checker seems to be the only person who can help other customers with problems. It can take ten plus minutes to check out at Pavilion's. Don't sleep on the floral department. Abby is SO talented. I've used local florists around here for years, though they always fall short of expectation. I came across Abby who makes the most beautiful arrangements. She's extremely detailed in her work, she has a passion for what she does and it shows. The pricing is always reasonable so that's another plus! Bill is her right hand man and he's such a delight to work with as well! They both so amazing jobs and make the ordering so seamless. This place has very little selection. The employees glare at you when you walk by. I used the coin machine (the one that changes coins to cash) and then went to the cash register to get the cash. You'd think I'd committed a mortal sin- about 4 employees stopped what they were doing and watched me wide-eyed as I walked to the cash register. I had the coin to cash receipt in hand; maybe they thought I was coming to ask about a purchase receipt? Upon reading the other reviews, I guess it's common to receive expired and moldy items here, so they were probably expecting that from me. But yikes. It was bizarre. I felt so unwelcome in the store. And I was the only one in there. The cashier was cordial when I bought my food but when he saw me walk up with the coin machine receipt, he barked "How much?" before I even got to his lane. I told him and then he got out the cash and I left. I understand they don't have tons of cash these days but it felt like he was majorly inconvenienced by my $20. There's a nicer way to go about that though. I was shocked at how few things they had at this store. It really is like a gas station in terms of selection like someone else said. The store has such a dark, heavy energy when you walk in too. I noticed there are several laugh reacts to reviews here that mention the expired and moldy products. In my experience that's usually store employees or prepaps corporate doing that to try and discredit the reviews. This particular pavilions is one of my favorite stores. Ample parking off Lindero Canyon and Kanan Road, This store is nicely laid out and never super busy. A great display of fresh fruit and good bread selection. The staff are really friendly and often bulk buys that offer a better deal than Costco, like toilet and kitchen roll. If you are a regular at Vons or Ralphs then break the mold a hit Pavillions once in a while, you will enjoy the experience and maybe get yourself a suite deal. read more

Sadly, I have to agree with Salm R.: they have a problem with their expiration dates. I am fed up with the fact that every single time we go here (which is only once every few months), we end up with something out of date. And I don't mean things like meat, milk or eggs that I check while at the store - I recently picked up soda (!) and wheat crackers way beyond expiration date. Not going to return. read more

I had a fantastic experience with the florist at Pavilions Oak Park yesterday. The floral manager Abby helped me get balloons inflated for my daughter's birthday and was so kind, generous with her time and help and had great design ideas. Came here recently on Sunday for seafood and waited at the counter for about 3 minutes while I watched a young man de-boning a salmon filet. I spoke up and said 'Are you the only one on duty?' He said 'Yes' and went back to work on the filet. That's it. No reply such as "I'll be right with you" or, 'This should just be another minute or so'. Nope. The feeling was complete limbo--like maybe 5 minutes, maybe not at all. Another guy was there who wanted fresh chicken and he just gave up and wandered off. I went to the front of the store and told two clerks that whoever is working in the seafood department needs customer service lessons and that I was leaving to go to another market. They couldn't have cared less. It's amazing how little some people care about their jobs or providing good service. This would be a 1 star review if it weren't for 2 other people who work in the meat department who are outstanding at customer service and friendly and helpful with preparation ideas. The other gripe I have with this place is that on several occasions I've bought items that where already expired or very nearly expired without realizing it. Stop trying to take advantage of your customers--I thought we were beyond 'Buyer Beware' in Oak Park/Westlake Village/Thousand Oaks. This was a very preventable review. read more

Review for Deli area: While next door at HIDEOUT with our kids, my friend and I decided it would be so easy and awesome to go next door to Pavillions and get some sandwiches and deli stuff for some lunch. I actually said: It is probably really nice! judging from the area we were in. We went in with happy hungry kids and went to order our sandwiches. There were 2 people working the deli counter. I ordered and wanted to pay at the cash register right there as to not bring my lunch and my kid (as well as my friend with her 2 kids under the age of 3) to the front register to just come back and sit to eat (there are tables by the deli counter) But I was told, sorry, I dont have a code to ring up on this register you have to go up front. No way...I asked the other worker, can you ring me up here? She did. Needed forks and a knife. Sorry we are all out. um, ok. thanks? Tables and floor were very dirty even though no one was in there. My daughter's turkey sandwich had 1, 4inch square of old looking cheese. I mean if you are only going to put one slice, slice it fresh! slice it thick! I mean, we are at the deli counter! When we went to throw the trash it was MORE than full and I got all sticky trying to get my garbage into the can. Gross. I wanted to speak to a manager right then and there but I had to get my kid home to nap and I saw no one at the customer service counter. The issues we had are SO FIXABLE. We laughed about how we thought it would be nice because we were in WLV/N. Ranch/Oak Park area. Because it really was the complete opposite of nice. read more

Pavillions should be embarrassed to have their name on this market, walk anywhere near the fish counter you will encounter a nasty smell of rotten fish. The manager always seems to be sitting out front smoking a cigarette, perhaps the manager would be better served in the store actually managing . I have never seen more than 2 check stands open yet the line is a mile long. This is the only market in OP so I don't think Pavillions really cares about how the store is managed. read more

I was at the Pavilions pharmacy on August 27, 2020. Rick, the pharmacist and the technicians were incredibly helpful and courteous. I was told they have a great reputation. They filled my prescription in minutes. I am very impressed. I am having all my prescriptions transferred there. read more

This is a lovely store overall, The quality of everything is great. We had a roast from the meat department this week and it was one of the best we've ever had. And the floral department is fantastic. I had an arrangement made for my wife on our anniversary. It was beautiful and stayed fresh for a long time. She loved it. On top of that, the price was great. I think the Pavilions floral department is one of the best kept secrets in Thousand Oaks. read more

Very disappointed with this store, took back a loaf of bread that was so stale, ok, no receipt, but very rude when I showed them the expiration date was from last year. It was the last loaf and I had had a hard time finding it, way in the back of the shelf. I did complain and they did send me a check but the heart is still there. read more

Their items are often out of date, produce is lousy and forget buying any organic as the selection is wilted and lagging. The deli area often forgets to turn on their equipment in the mornings so, they can't make their breakfast burritos. No bueno. read more

This is the best Pavilions I have ever been to and God Bless the staff who works here for putting up with these Valley Snobs! Would you believe this Pavilions does a regular and routine customer appreciation day where they have a Father & 2 Sons come to the Parking Lot so that if you want to order food from Pavilions and have it BBQ'ed you can do so in their parking lot? No of course you would not imagine such a thing! But the staff here really goes above and beyond the call of duty for taking care of their customers. The staff is friendly and the place is well organized and clean. God Forbid you have to wait in line at the Deli Counter because they are BUSY! Get over it you Valley Snobs life doesn't revolve around you! This place is awesome the staff is awesome and the people here take pride in what they do and it shows. read more

This is for the deli service. Hygiene is a definite 0 star if I had a choice. The same guy wiping down the glass and sushi area proceeded to slice the deli meat without washing his hands. This has to be the worst pavilions I've ever been to yet I keep coming back, which I need to stop. Their lines are always ridiculously long and they are always out of stuff. Also, I understand that people with disabilities deserve that exact same rights as everyone else and I full support that. I personally have two autistic family members and my husband has a service animal for a disability he has, however... as a company don't put someone who has a disability as your bagger when you are ridiculously busy and some hustle is needed. It's absolutely not the person with a disability fault that management doesn't place their people properly based on traffic. This just pisses off your clientele. The manager (the older guy) is nice but he really doesn't know how to manage. Go somewhere else, this place is just so annoying I always walk out pissed off. The only reason I come here is because it's literally right by my house but I need to do something else. read more

This store had the oldest most discussing (fresh made) potato salad etc looked like the deli section should have been tossed out days ago. To add when I went to ck out my just for u wasn't working. The checker who was a/supervisor was as rude as could be he would not just adjust the price but was trying to give me a lesson in the app. The people behind me were giving me the look and this checker just keep it up refusing to do anything. I live right by this store so I go here because it's convenient. You can never just quickly run in and get something because there are always lines at the checkout.....slow lines. Please hire more people especially between 4 & 8pm and on sundays or put back the self check out. The produce is good, the bakery is ok and so at the meats. I got a sandwich at the deli for lunch, and the guy making the sandwich clearly had no idea what he was doing. He practically shoved random ingredients onto the sandwich, which ended up being something completely different than I had ordered, and even cut himself while doing it. Needless to say, i didn't want to eat the sandwich, and customer service was happy to refund the price. My suggestion is to skip out on the sandwiches, unless it's clear that there's someone competent working the deli. read more

I stopped here on my lunch break on a Sunday afternoon. I found some decently priced sushi and tried to pay at the deli since they clearly had cash registers. The deli staff informed me that they weren't cashiers and could not ring up my $5 item. I then headed to the registers in the front and they were jammed packed. Even the express lane was a mile long. I complained to the manager and he was very unapologetic. I didn't have a ton of time and asked him why the deli couldn't ring me up like most other grocery stores. He said the deli staff didn't have cashier capabilities. Looks like they just try to save themselves money and waist our time. Very rude!! Also, the sushi was old and disgusting!! read more

The main reason why i shop at this store is due to the excellent service my family receives from the pharmacy. The Staff there lead by the two Dr. Ricks are quick,personable and most important--accurate! The inventory turnover is not as frequent as most stores so yes...check pull dates. One pet peeve is that a couple of times a product is offered for 'the club' and nobody in the store can find it. read more

I've been going to this Pavilions at least twice a week since I moved to Oak Park a year and a half ago, and I refuse to set foot into this store again. While the quality and selection of the meats and produce have been going downhill, the sheer convenience kept me coming back. I also have to give a shout out to their wonderful pharmacy staff who has always been quick, friendly, and helpful. After my most recent trip, however, I came home to find that some dirtbag had put a large wad of gum on the hood of my car while I was shopping. I immediately called the store, and the "customer service" representative who answered sounded bored and inconvenienced. I explained that my car had been vandalized while parked at their store, and the first words out of his mouth were "we're not responsible for what happens in the parking lot." Okay, first of all, I wasn't asking for anything- I simply wanted to let the store know that their customers were having issues with criminals in their parking lot. He didn't even ask what had happened. Second of all, who is this guy to be making a legal determination of liability? I asked if they would consider some kind of security as there have been a lot of kids loitering in the parking lot lately, and the representative again reiterated that they were not responsible. Ok, even if you're not legally obligated to care, it's just good business to at least be polite to your customers, especially your regulars. I told him that I would not be shopping there anymore, and I got a rather indifferent response. If this store refuses to take care of its customers, then I suppose it won't care if it loses them. read more

I haven't shopped here in years but was pleased to see how well maintained this store was. The staff was present and helpful which was a nice chance of pace in contrast to some of the other groceries I frequent. The prices weren't the best I've seen, but the experience was well worth the slight increase in cost. Tell the manager to keep up the good work. read more

Bakery: I asked the young man behind the counter, "Do you have any Rustic French Bread?" Response: "No!" ... OK ... onwards and upwards ... Cookies: Either already expired or expire that day. Yuck! Dairy: My favorite yogurt:(89c each!!) -- some expiring shortly, others out of date already. Check-out: Very grumpy checker! Bagger: see below At the car I started packing my refrigerated items into a cool bag but, uh-oh ... a yogurt at the bottom of the grocery bag had been completely crushed due to careless packing by the bagger. I trudged back to the store where I explained the problem and requested a replacement. "Yes, you can replace it!" was the curt response from one of the three staff members who were standing around at the front of the store chatting. No hint of: "I'm so sorry that happened. We'll get a replacement for you immediately!" I helped myself to a replacement from the dairy case and left the store vowing never to return. Perhaps the attitude of the staff at Pavillions reflects their knowledge that their jobs are in jeopardy as Vons and Safeway have been bought out by Albertsons and obviously many stores will close. Pavillions at Lindero Canyon will be no great loss. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Vons at the Oakbrook Plaza (where everyone is pleasant, hard-working and upbeat) stays in business. read more

They have a clearly stated policy that if you are overcharged the item is free.Wr bought bread marked $4.99 and we were charged $5.99 The cashier was very rude. . Manager David refused to give us the item for free. When we pointed out the sign and insisted they owed us, David went to call the police. My husband was very upset (74) so we left. Never going back.
