It was perfect to me and I loved the fluid-consistency of the dish, very different from others I've had at more commercialized 'creole' joints. The bread was the perfect accompaniment. Husband had the flavorful catfish and, as a fish connoisseur, noted that it was some of the best batter he's tasted. The food was excellent! The catfish was fried to perfection and the taste was delicious. I personally got Catfish Orleans, and couldn't put my fork down. Giving this a 4 because the catfish and sides were so good. Also had a hamburger than was not fresh pattied and the bun was straight from a bag - not toasted and dry. Service was good but took about 40 min to get food, the cook missed the hamburger on the order. They are short staffed so giving them leeway bc of that. Found this place on Yelp and had to check it out! We had a party of 11 (6 adults, 3 kiddos, 2 bambinos) at 6:00 on a Friday. The place is pretty small and was packed, we were told it would be a little awhile and we're debating ordering takeout instead. Well then all of the sudden the sweetest woman (Her name escapes me but I'd bet she's the owner) comes over and says she got a place for us. She leads us back thru the restaurant to their connected sno-cone shop that was closed for the season. They set us up in booths, talk about going above and beyond! We tried many food items but to me the stand outs were their roast beef po boy and catfish! The po boy was so good, beef was slow cooked and served up in it's own gravy! My dad is a catfish officando and said it was some of the best he's had. Also if your a hush puppy fan they are delish. What a lovely surprise! We stumbled upon this place while staying at a cabin in wears valley. My hopes weren't super high but WOW the food was delicious.
