We are so grateful for the services of Paws Fur The Cause when our beloved hamster, Alfredo, passed away unexpectedly.  I appreciated Stephen's communication, professionalism, and kindness.  He personally picked up Alfredo and dropped off his paw prints.   The paw prints will be a treasured keepsake and a reminder of how much Alfredo meant to us.  I highly recommend Paws Fur The Cause.

Dr. Shea was my guide in my time of need. When the final day came, Dr. Erica came to our home. She is this beautiful angel, with the most kind and gentle voice. She helped us walk our precious Stella over the Rainbow bridge in the beauty of silence, reverence, and peace, it was so beautiful. Dr. Erica sent us the most amazing sympathy card a few days later that touched my heart deeply. Honor Pet has not only been there throughout this difficult journey, but their kindness, compassion, professionalism and guidance have meant more to me and my family than they can ever know. Today, Stella is back home at her final resting place, where she belongs...they sent her home to us in this incredible Honor box which carried her remains, a mini glass bottle of her fur, a candle to burn if/when I need to feel her presence, a digital print of her beautiful little "chocolate chip nose" we all loved and adored, a package of Forget-Me-Not seeds to plant in her honor, and a letter conveying their deepest sympathy for our great loss. It was all so overwhelming and thoughtful. If anyone is faced with such a difficult decision as this, and you are like me, confused and doubting whether you're making the right end-of-life choice, I cannot recommend Honor Pet enough. I promise, you will be blessed and given the truth and confidence as to when that right time comes. Stella never suffered, because Dr. Shea went over her symptoms/behavior, but when she started showing signs that she was ready, I recognized them and knew. My Stella no longer is suffering... The devastation over losing a beloved pet cannot be fully described in words, other than this: "Grief is the Price we Pay to Love." I love you my sweet girl, wait for me.

She explained that my dog's ashes should be ready in 2 weeks. At 2 weeks, we called them for an update. They said there was a delay. We called them again at 3 weeks. Still not ready. We called again around 3.5 weeks and they said a few more days. At 4 weeks we received an email saying our boy was ready and we went to go pick him up. It was quite stressful calling in over those two weeks of delay to figure out if and when my dog's ashes would be ready. A proactive message from their side would've made the experience a lot better as we needed to keep calling in to figure out what was happening while also grieving. The box we received back was lovey with a candle, hair clippings, flower seeds, and urn. I do wish the digital nose print was more accurate in terms of the size. He's a small dog and the print is just a bit blown up to the size of a larger dog.. but nonetheless it was a nice box which included several things.

My wife called to tell me that Raja threw up blood and wasn't doing too well. She asked me how close I was to being home, and right when she asked, I heard my oldest son scream for her to go to him because something was wrong with Raja. She hung up the phone and then called me back about 3 mins later to let me know that he was holding him, and he wasn't going to make it. Once I got home, I looked in the living room, and my boy was laying there with his tongue out. I looked on Yelp to find someone who could take the body away, and I came across Loving Pets. They were fantastic and showed empathy every step of the way. They were comforting, gentle, and extremely friendly. The whole process was quick, smooth, and clean. They offered urns for the ashes and paw prints, which seemed cool, but I wasn't in the mood. Not many crematoriums are open on Sundays. I called a number in Van Nuys that I found on Yelp, but the man referred me to Furrever Friends. I'm so glad he did. Heather at Furrever Friends was so kind on the phone and in person. She made the entire process very smooth and easy. She discussed everything with me - their strict cremation process, what to expect with the final package, etc. Honestly, I didn't ask; she just told me. I wasn't functioning very well that day. I picked up Franklin today after only a 4-day wait. At the shop, Heather surprised me with Frank's paw and nose prints on wood and paper! What a thoughtful idea! I contacted them immediately and was assisted by Heather. She was very kind and helpful over the phone, gave me all the info about the various packages they offer. They offer 3 different cremations packages (private, witness, and communal). I chose to go with private bc witness was more than double the price of private. However, don't be nervous about going with private bc they have numerous ways to ensure that you will be obtaining your pet's remains back even if you aren't able to witness the full process. The private package included a simple urn (a box), paw/nose impression, and fur clipping. In their viewing room, they have numerous urns to choose from and upgrade from the package. Although it was so close to the holidays, I was able to pick up my baby girl the day after christmas. They were kind enough to gift us with a bamboo impression of her nose and paw as an ornament as well. The whole service and communication was truly great. I had no doubt in trusting Heather and her family with taking care of my pet. You can feel how much they care about animals and their passion in helping families get closure and having a beautiful send off for their pets. When Sir Perceval passed away, I immediately remembered them and reached out again. From the first phone call to bringing him home, every single step was handled with kindness, professionalism, warmth, and genuine compassion. Our aftercare specialist, Laura, at the Sun Valley location, stayed with us through the entire process and treated both us and our beloved pup with such dignity and care. The visitation experience was absolutely transformative for our grieving hearts. When we entered the room, Sir Perceval was resting peacefully on a soft bed, covered with a plush blanket, he looked like he was sleeping soundly, covered in a cozy blanket with flowers carefully arranged around him. The room was softly lit, peaceful music played in the background, and there were comfortable sofas where we could sit with him as long as we needed. We cried, hugged him, and said goodbye in a space that felt safe, loving, and deeply respectful. The thoughtful details meant everything to us -- when picking up his cremains, as emotional as it was, we appreciated the elegant, color coordinated packaging, the velvet bag his urn was wrapped in, the lovely engraving, his precious paw print. The service provided was exceptional in every way. This review is limited to the ashes and keepsakes I got from them for my late cat. Last week I lost my cat of 12 years, Oliver, to cancer. He passed away fairly suddenly when I took him to Animal Speciality Group (VCA) in Glendale because he had been throwing up non-stop and seemed to be in pain. Turns out his tumor had been bleeding internally and he was severely anemic and the cancer had apparently spread aggressively across large portions of his body, so I made the difficult but necessary decision to let him cross the rainbow bridge. At ASG/VCA, I purchased a cremation and keepsakes package, which I would later learn was being handled by West Coast. I just got the urn and keepsakes today in the mail and I really could not be any happier (other than if I could get my little buddy back). The wooden urn I chose was just beautiful, but I am especially blown away by the small vial with his hair inside of it; West Coast made a point to display his black and white fur in a beautiful pattern so I can always remember my tuxedo boy. I also did not ask or even pay extra for a paw print but I was so emotional and glad to find that West Coast had prepared one for me anyway. I really appreciate the work they did here to memorialize my boy. Thank you, West Coast, for your thoughtful work. Pictures include how I've set up the urn and vial of hair on my little altar for Oliver.

I paid approximately $380 for my dog's ashes and $80 for the paw prints, and the quality I received was nowhere near what I expected. I have a paw print keepsake from my first dog that was done by a different business, and I assumed I would receive something similar. Instead, the paw prints I received look rushed, unfinished, and unprofessional. The clay impressions have what appear to be fingerprints and handling marks left in the clay, the lettering is uneven and poorly done, and my dog's paw print is barely visible. One of the prints is also dirty and has debris embedded in it. These are supposed to be cherished memorial keepsakes, but they look carelessly made. I was also disappointed with the presentation of my dog's ashes. The ashes were returned in a plain plastic container, with the cremains inside a zip lock plastic bag. For the amount charged, I expected a much more respectful and dignified presentation. I understand that VIP Animal Hospital may not be responsible for creating these items and that the work was performed by Pet Haven Cemetery & Crematory, but as a grieving pet owner, this experience has been heartbreaking. These memorials are irreplaceable, and there is no opportunity to redo them once they are made. I would strongly encourage the crematory to improve its quality control and pay greater attention to the care and craftsmanship of the memorial items it provides.
