Called last week after purchasing a Groupon for small dog grooming. Was told it would be some time before I could get an appointment - about a week from the time I called. Sure... that's fine. Made appointment for today, Thursday at 9:30 am. Getting my little sweetie into a car isn't easy... she's very anxious about car trips. But we did all that and even managed to find a parking spot on one of the busiest areas of Sunset Blvd. We were five minutes early. Salon is supposed to open at 8 am. We arrived at 9:25 am. And found the salon locked. Closed. Not open for business. I called the number on the door. Voice mail. We waited. I knocked on the door. Nothing. It was hot. The dog was very antsy at being on a super busy and loud street. I called again. Voice mail. I knocked again. Clearly there was no one in the store. After 15 minutes, we left. Completely unacceptable. They wasted my time and I don't really have a lot of free time to waste (who does?). Their stated hours of business are clearly false. I'm furious. This is clearly a very poorly run business. read more

Beware. The positive reviews are for groomers that are no longer staffed there. I took my dog in via Groupon. I showed multiple pics and agreed on a cut. I arrived at our allotted time but the dogs were double booked. They said Luigi would have to be caged for over an hour before even getting to him. Why not just book me for another time!! So I dropped him off an hour later. I didn't feel comfortable as I saw a dog muzzled in the sink. When I picked luigi up, he looked like he had gone through a lawn mower. The groomer said she gave me what I wanted. Well that would be true if I wanted big patches of hair shaved to the skin, a line of shaved skin down the left leg, jagged patches of hair gone & skin showing on the other legs, shaved stomach to expose draw skin, chunks of hair cut out of the face align with the beautiful shih tzu tail shaved half way making him look like a cross between a rat and a hyena. We used our own medicated shampoo and it was returned with half the bottle missing. Lastly, he's been trembling so much since he got home and won't come near me. Stay far far away from this place. I found this dog Grooming place on Yelp and I called to set up an appointment, he gave me a good deal over the phone, when I arrived there was no parking spot around. I have been taking my dog to Grooming places several times, never seen my dog to be naked SHAVED all the way down to skin. I couldn't recognize my dog after grooming, nails are still sharp. This is poor quality business with poor customer service. If you pay the full price you expect to receive a decent job. I would not recommend this business. read more

Unprofessional! Horrible! Do not go there! The groomer injured my two maltese dogs. She shaved them so much that took a piece of their skin. That grommer have no idea how to groom a dog. I told her I wanted my dogs hair an inch long and she shaved them! Shaved all of their hair!!!! I couldn't believe it when I went to pick them up. Shocking. To add more.. I called complaining the next day only asking for her to pay for the vet bill and she refused. Shame on her. I had to pay for the Vet and I had a very stressful week suffering seeing my dogs in pain and wearing a cone in the head so that they wouldn't lick the wounds. I don't understand how this business is legal, I don't even believe she ever studied for this. I hope this review helps other dogs and owners. read more

I got a groupon as a gift from a friend of mine for my dog's bday a few months ago. I brought my dog here at 2pm according to my appointment but there was no body inside the store (the door was opened) so i called and was asked to wait for 15 min. I finally met the lady who was very nice and kinda confused looking for my appointment from the book. I told her what i wanted my dog look like. A few hours later when i picked up my dog and got home i was unhappy cos my dog had an uneven haircut and his nails were not trimmed properly. I give 3 stars because my first experience here was a good one. I believe it was the owner that cut my dogs hair.that time. I have a mini poodle and silky terrier. They looked great! The second time it was a different groomer. She shaved all the hair off my mini poodles ears! He looks really weird. She told me how good he was but that the other one cried the whole time and wouldn't sit still. My silky terrier is a rescue and is always nervous. But when I got home and really looked at her, I couldn't really tell anything bad been done! Her nails have some cut, some too long. Her fur is too long and she didn't smell pretty like usual. The lady who works here is nice but did a horrible job on my dog. I went here for a Groupon package and asked for a cut but not too short. I came back and my dog had a super short cut and his legs were left still furry. He's a Maltese/shih-tzu and now looks like a poodle with bell bottoms. read more

The groomer is amazing, she is really devoted to her job and she is so nice to pets. But I had to wait TWO hours to give my dog to her. I called earlier today and I've been told by a guy that I can bring my dog in at 6:30 and she will be done in 1,5 hrs max but when I got there there were three other dogs in front of me and the girl told me that it's an hour wait that's why I stayed. And yes the result was great I love how my puppy looks but two hours wait is too much. They better do something with the appointment system or I'm not coming there no more. read more

My Andy has never looked so good. I was shocked when I picked him up because he looked so different in a good way from all the other haircuts that he's had over the years. He went in a scrappy wire haired Terrier mix and came out as a prince with a dark back strip that I didn't know he had and a Lion King tail that everyone comments on. She followed my instructions to keep his beautiful tall ears and tail long which I appreciated. Overall, the service was great and my dog looks better than ever. I'll be back. read more

My dog is no fuss/no muss, short-haired, but this year allergies have been terrible, so he really needed a bath to sooth his skin and cool off a little. I live in the neighborhood and Paws N Claws is recently opened - very convenient for me. The lady there took Mr Itchy basically on a walk-in and bathed him while I waited. She baby-talked him the whole time (he acts like its torture even when I do it). She made his unpleasant experience as gentle as possible, and he walked out greatly relieved. Went home and had a nap and a good night's sleep. Also, very reasonable (less than $30 w/ everything). Not super luxe, but perfectly fine, convenient and affordable. The owner is sweet as pie and great with dogs but, ultimately, did not exercise good judgment with my dog and cut his hair way way way too short for a Pomeranian. I sent photos to emulate his previous cuts and she was unsuccessful at measuring the correct length and blending his face in with his body. I handed my pup over at 1:30pm and she was not finished with him at 4:30pm when I returned so I sat in the waiting area for an hour. On top of that I had to ask for a few corrections - smoother blending, tail length - before I felt it was acceptable to pay. If you're going for a straight up cut at a fair price then this is your place, but if your dog requires a cut with some style and technique then best to search elsewhere and pay more. read more

I came here once when they first opened and my dog had a great haircut I recently tried to take my dog there again. I think the place has a new owner now. It took me three phone calls of leaving message over a period of 3 days to get an appointment. When I finally received a phone call back they guy told me that they aren't even open the first few days of the week now. You might want to put that info up on your website and your place of biz. He offered my the same price I paid the first time with my groupon ($49.00). I made an appointment for Thursday at 9am. The guy said "Thank you Marilyn" (not my name don't know who he thought he was speaking to). On Thursday morning I arrived at 9AM. Doors were locked and no one was there. I waited and then called , and called again.. no answer, just a voicemail. I finally left and made an appointment at "Healthy Spot" where they took me in right away. Yes, they're expensive but at least they are reliable. Much later that afternoon I received a phone call from Paws and Claws. They apologized for missing me. Apparently the girl working there was in a "car accident". They offered to have me come back another time for 50% off. I declined. Good luck staying in business.... read more

They're awesome!!! They recently changed owners and had a grand opening. My Yorkie needed a haircut really bad ASAP and I saw their banner! I was able to call and make an appoint right away! The groomer seems like a person that LOVES all dogs! She was very gentle with my little baby and would talk to her...it was sweet! To top the whole experience off, it was cheaper than my usual place in the valley! Great Service, great cut and lower the price, now who can beat that?!!! read more

For the low price, I guess I got what I paid for at Paws N Claws. When I arrived the staff was not friendly and I left unsure of whether or not it was even safe to leave my dog there. My dog was fine, but her haircut is uneven and jaggedy. In addition, when I came back to pick her up, she was the only dog there and yet the employee there had put her in a cage and was basically taking a nap. Though $25 for grooming in West Hollywood is tempting, I will not be returning to Paws N Claws. read more

This place is awesome. Evidently it's just been taken over by new management and I meet the owner while I was there. Seemed like a nice guy that wants to create an environment that's cool for us owners along with our furry children. The groomer Patricia is excellent. She's a real pet lover with a wonderful disposition for animals, and her attention to details and skills are very impressive. We, my pup and I, walked away both feeling refreshed after our time with these nice and talented folks. I never write Yelp reviews, but this was by far the WORST experience that I have had with a dog groomer. I just moved to LA from and was looking for a groomer for my Airedale. I came across the Groupon deal and decided to give this place a shot. Because it was so close to home, had they been even halfway decent, I probably would have become a regular customer for years to come. Instead, I show up for my appointment and they have no record that I had booked one. Not off to a great start, but she agreed to take him. So, I asked her for an traditional Airedale trim and suggested she google photos if she had never groomed an Airedale before. Obviously, she didn't bother because she completely buzzed his entire body when I even told her specifically that the legs should be left fluffy (Seriously, just Google image search "Airedale"). I also asked that she not crate him and when I showed up to pick him up, sure enough he was crammed into a crate. Worst of all, my poor dog who was in love with his groomer back in Canada was upset by the entire experience. If you love your dog then avoid this place at all costs!!! read more
