This is the second time we have used Club K9 and I can't say enough good things about them. They took care of our babies and kept us updated on them every day that they were there. I was referred by my client and not only am I am happy with the way my baby Lou Lou was treated but watching others success during the course was awesome. I did the off collar voice command obedience training, and let me tell you this way more than sit & stay. The training is way more extensive than I expected. My 8 month old stubborn puppy can heel, backwards and forwards, sit, stay, down, place (which is seriously key and amazing) Not only that but also has stair etiquette and perferct car behavior!!!!!! Do you realize how cool that is? Not only for safety reasons but for peace of mind while driving AND easy loading and unloading with control!!! Now let me be honest, its not easy! For you as the pet owner, not the trainers they are on point, but there will be some frustrations during the course but a TON of victories. Its worth the time and effort and you end up celebrating with fellow class mates on their victories as well. You see everything. Every breed, age, size, and behavior challenges. And they literally have a solution for all of it. There wasn't a dog there that wasn't hugely improved by this training. I had classes where I felt defeated, frustrated, impressed, overwhelmed, and grateful. The training is also done in highly distractive environments so that adds to the stress of it but its brilliant. Its a whole bag of emotions but trust me they take very good care of them, they know their names, personalities, they bath them feed them and put them on a strict potty schedule. I got personal updates when I asked, and they weigh your dog every week. The hardest part was leaving her there the first day. But I am not a dog trainer and I would have been in over my head trying to do this on my own. They literally have a huge team constantly monitoring, training one on one, cleaning and doing group classes while your at work. Their communication is A+ Its a well oiled ship. I enrolled my Carolina dog in what I believed was a service dog program. After 5 1/2 weeks they still have not done any service dog training. When I questioned them about it, I was informed that the 10 week $6800 service dog training I signed up for did not include service dog task training. Service dog task training took extra time and cost extra. The service dog training I signed up for was a advanced obedience training program. I explained in order to be a service dog, the dog had to perform certain tasks to qualify. I currently have a service dog but needed to get my Carolina dog Service dog trained. I had broken my back and was in the hospital when I made arrangements for my dog to be tested to see if she fit/qualified for the program. A neighbor took my dog in for the testing. He reported that the testing took no more than five minutes and he was not required to sign anything or do anything more. I was told that she qualified for the service dog program. On the day of check-in my day neighbor drove me to the facility and assisted me with my walker and the dog equipment necessary to check her in. We were included in a large group of people checking in for classes and boarding. I was never asked what tasks the dog needed to perform for me but they were informed that I use a walker. During the second class my neighbor drove me again to the facility and participated when I couldn't. She had to inform the instructor the dog needed to be trained for me with the walker. She was just there to assist me when I was too tired or could not continue with the training. Even though we had made it very clear that the dog needed to walk with the walker, they didn't seem to have a program to do so. When the owner/manager lead a class, he chastised me because I corrected the dog from the back wheel to the front. Where she hast to walk because of my disabilities. I telephoned the owner/manager and explained to him that it was not the dogs fault for the correction I had corrected her to walk where she was supposed to. He argued with me and said that's not the proper way for them to be trained, he finally relented and said well if that's the way you want her train then that's the way we'll train her. The next trainer, insisted that I dropped the leash walk away from her walk with her by the back wheel, she almost tripped me and I stopped and expressed my concern, he didn't like it so he called upon another trainer to work with me. I was in so much pain by that time my neighbor had to finish the session. I was to meet with the other owner after the session but was informed he was not going to make it back to me. We were leaving that owner showed up so I met with him, he convinced me to give him some more time to evaluate my dog. After we returned home I did some more investigating and found some complaints that concerned me about the facility and the owners, so my neighbor and I went over the next morning to get the dog. I was told they would not to release my dog cannot charge me the second half of the training fee. By the time I got home they had already charged my card I had never received any paperwork from them and they had never gotten the veterinarian clearance required. I requested a copy of everything that they claimed to have. Tried to discuss the issue with the manager/owner he again wanted to call the police and have me arrested for trespassing. Bottom line here is the careful, do you research make sure this is the proper place to leave your precious animal. There's more to the story but it would take me a lot more time in a lot more space to fill in all the blanks I think this gives a pretty good picture. read more

Our dog Bowie completed the 8 week training program in November. He was a 7 month old wild child before the program. As a rescue, he knew no basic obedience or commands. Going on walks was impossible. He had no socialization skills. We have been so impressed with the staff and facilities at Club K9. He has been transformed into a sweet little gentleman. I found out about Club K-9 from a previous client of theirs. I saw him walking his dog backwards at the park via voice command and I had to find out how his dog was so well trained! After he told me about Club K-9 I did my own research and decided the basic manners class would be great for my standard poodle. We just brought home a new Doberman puppy and with two high energy dogs in the home we needed some help. After the two week program our poodle no longer pulls on her leash and she holds her "place" or a down position while we eat dinner. I took my Dogues de Bordeaux to Club K9 for off-leash training. It's a little pricey but worth EVERY PENNY! My new girl was out of control, constantly challenging me, and refused to be housebroken at 8 months!!!! I had never had these issues with ANY of my dogs in the past (and I've had many over the years, ALL of whom I trained myself and had no problems with), so on the recommendation of a friend, I took her in for the full 6 week training program, and she came home a different dog. I actually enjoy her now, and although she's still a curious, exuberant, loving dog, just now listens and obeys commands (and of course is now completely housebroken)! She passed her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) and Therapy Dog certification tests with flying colors not long afterwards, and as a show dog is now the #1 Owner Handled DDB of the Top 15 of her breed. I recently got a new pup who presented food aggression issues - another issue I had zero experience with, so I took him in for the 2 week Puppy Manners course and he is a perfectly behaved loving puppy now! I'll be sending him in for the 6 week Off Leash Training when he's a bit older, and he can be seen hanging out with about a dozen other dogs in one of the ClubK9's Facebook videos...staying put and behaving beautifully, which was a miracle for a 5 month old puppy!!! It's an amazing thing to see all those dogs calmly chilling out, and it's absolutely quiet in the place (you'd expect with that many dogs in a place it would be a cacophony!). And what's truly amazing is that all the dogs are happy, get a LOT of love while there training, and when they come home they're a joy to be around! Here is why we would recommend Club K9 for your training and other pet needs Training - We found Club K9 after we adopted a four year old German Shepherd that had been in and out of rescues for years, to put it bluntly, we were her last chance. When we got her home and after some evaluation, we began to research different training companies and their methods and felt that Club K9 would be best suited for our puppy's needs. I liked how Club K9 has different tiers of training programs to best fit the needs of the dog. Once our dog made it thru her initial training, my wife and I attended several weeks of classes to continue working on our dog's skills. One thing I will always appreciate is the patience the staff shows us as we learn. Boarding - Club K9 has a very modern boarding facility. The rooms/suites the dogs stay in are in no way small traditional cages, these rooms are pretty large with amenities to make your dog comfortable. I feel better knowing that our dog is with people she knows and has worked with for about a year now. Additionally, there are other services that you can add on to include grooming. daycare - An additional service we like that's Club K9 has is their day care service. Our dog does pretty well with people, however not so well with other dogs. Having the ability to introduce other dogs, in a controlled environment to help socialize her really helps. I cannot say enough good things. I adopted my gal Maggie right after shutdown started and she's my first ever dog. I tried doing training at home with her but she started resource guarding and showing signs of occasional dog aggression which I recognized as beyond my scope as a beginner and especially given that she's a pittie, I know she has to be twice as good to be looked at the same as other dogs in the public eye. I took a long time to decide on Club K9 because of the price but I wish I had just gone for it sooner--it is 1000000% true that you get what you pay for, plus their rates are incredible fair for the amount of work and boarding they do. As of right now, we're in week 8 of behavior mod and she's been home for about a week and a half. The change has been amazing. She still has moments where she thinks that she's the boss and makes bad decisions but I feel equipped to handle them and correctly correct her in those moments because of how involved we as the owners are in the training. The whole staff is super wonderful, patient, and kind. You can tell they love their jobs and our dogs. I will definitely continue bringing her to drop in classes after we finish our official course and feel 100% comfortable leaving her for boarding in the future. (Re the photo where she looks sad: Mags always looks like "In The Arms Of The Angel" is quietly playing behind her but that's just her face. My wife and I left our 3.5 year old Douge de Bordeaux Reba at Club K9 for 7 days while we went on vacation. The staff is wonderful and very knowledgeable. They always answer questions and take pride in what they do. They make sure you understand and if not work with you one on one. Absolutely loved the staff. The owner and son not so much. They only see $$ and are not so nice and very arrogant and rude. My dog had sores on her legs (which I believe was from the cots they had her on.. very rough material) But non the less it should have been address when I pointed it out a few times. I brought in her bed to fix the situation. (she now has scars from it). I brought my dog here for service dog training. They did teach her a-lot of commands. But She now crowds anytime I tell her no in a stern voice. Several of the people brought their dogs their to be trained not to be aggressive with their other dogs. Club K9 didn't succeed with any of the people I had talked to. They are still aggressive to their other dogs. They are extremely expensive and no vets or senior discounts. It's guaranteed for life... but you have to pay 25$ for every class you attend to retrain you dog. Guarantee isn't a guarantee if you pay to go to class. read more

I took my Belgian Malinois 6 month old puppy (Astinos!) here because I am a new handler/ trainer who knew I would need professional help training this WORKING dog. Nothing but amazing things were said about my dog from all of the staff. And in return I have nothing but amazing things to say about all of the staff. For all that are saying "shock collar" rather than eCollar- I've put the collar onto my arm and leg and "shocked" myself at a level 25 and 50 which is a 1/4 and 1/2 of the power it can put out and I can assure all you uneducated folks... it doesn't hurt your dog. It is NOT an electrical shock like you think. It stimulates your muscles. My BM pup is around 9 months old now and the fact I can take him anywhere and he listens/ behaves... blows my mind everyday. I saw progress from the first training day.. and it blew my mind when I would go see him on a Tuesday and see improvement 2 days later on Thursday training class. They made my dog my absolute favorite behaved obedient dog in my life and I cannot wait to continue training with him in different sports. read more

AMAZING!!! I highly recommend Club K9 for training and boarding! I have two German Shepherds, "Atilla" and "Karma", that I had boarded training and in two different programs. My (very large) male "Atilla" was enrolled in their service dog program and my female "karma" was enrolled in off leash training. I have to say that I am majorly impressed with what they've done with my once unruly pups! Karma was a nuisance barker, very high strung, destructive (tore plaster off of the windowsills and lower walls scratched and ripped the window trim off of our front area Bay Area windows) caused a few thousand dollars in other damages and was not walkable. There were no commands she would listen to and overall, as much as I love her, I thought we'd be relegated to only letting her stay in the backyard and in the house (riding in my truck wasn't even an option, she even ruined the trim and padding on both back doors) Club K9 are miracle workers. No more nuisance barking, destructive behavior, leash pulling and I can now enjoy rides with her in the my truck. She even comes when her name is called! Now on to Atilla. Atilla is my 115 lb male German Shepherd. Overall, Atilla's not a destructive boy, but if he has it in his mind that he's going to go somewhere he will literally run through whatever is in his way. There were no gates, screen doors or any type of obstruction that could keep him separated from where he wanted to go, like I said, he would literally run through it... and walking him...HAH! How do you walk something that outweighs you and four paws on the ground head height sits in at 37" (while I'm a whopping 4'11" and 108 lbs. )...you don't! Again... they are miracle workers! I've had him in their service dog program and he is absolutely amazing! I can and do walk him off leash, he obeys every command, is non responsive to everyday distractions like other dogs, skateboards, people, bikes, cars etc... i take him out with me everywhere as his tasking makes life so much easier with my disabilities. ( we are now limited going out due to Covid 19) still go to extra classes as practice makes perfect... it's an activity I look forward to going to 2x every week. I would recommend Club K9 to anyone! They've made amazing transformations with my two doggo's. I no longer have to worry if they're going to run out the front door get hit by a car or get lost, they feel more secure because they know what to expect from me. All I have to do now is enjoy them! If you're looking for a no nonsense approach to training and trainers that actually know what they're doing, go to Club K9! You won't be disappointed. This is THE best training facility around. Plus it's the only place I trust to board my dog. The owners, trainers, and staff are so very knowledgeable - and take the time to answer all of your questions along the way. My German Shepherd was very fear reactive no matter how much I worked with him and I had hired multiple trainers. I had friends that turned me onto Club K9. It is pricey, and may seem a bit intense at first...but we got results. (We did the 6 week board and train.) My dog is the same goofy lovable pup, but now I have much more control. He's a German Shepherd. I need control. I want to add - you, the owner/handler, MUST put the time in, regularly. If you just expect a perfect dog handed back to you and you don't continually put the work in...you wasted your money and bad habits will creep back in. (Frankly, these bad reviews of Club K9 blow my mind. Clearly this is the issue.) I work my dog daily now, with those fundamentals the Club K9 crew taught us. People stop me regularly, when they see me walking with and working my dog. They want to know how I trained him so well. Club K9 trained US! Furthermore, I love that I can trust Club K9 with my dog when we travel. (It's the only place we do trust.). Aaaaaaand, I can pay a little extra to have them brush up his training while he's there. My dog is a very high strung Rottweiler about 18months old. I couldn't walk him, get him to stop yanking the leash, aggression towards other people and being really rough with my children. I've had no hope, but it was my responsibility to give him a life and not just continue to lock him up because of his behavior. This is by far the best training and boarding facility in town, I would say even in America! The staff is always very friendly, and despite my busy schedule they always try their best to do whatever they can for me! The facility is top notch, with chandlers and TV's and music for the dogs. The kennels are all glass, so my dog never feels left out or secluded. Terry and Susan are the BEST dog trainers you could ever find they are very knowledgeable, and are very thorough in helping you understand what they are doing and how to do it yourself. My family has put (4) dogs through their off leash service dog program, and they all went phenomenally! I would give more stars if I could, all in all, this is hands down the best boarding and training place you could ever find! PS I just want to clarify something, this place is not a magic show(although it almost is). They can't just wave a wand and go bippity boppity boo and boom your dog is magically perfect. They are training it how to act and it learns to do so, but if you don't do anything yourself then what do you expect? Just like if you have a child that learns it can do things at its grandparents house that it can't do at home, your dog will do the same thing. So please, don't blame your inconsistency on Club K9. If you go buy a Lamborghini but never change the oil or maintenance it, it's gonna have problems. If you get your dog trained here (and trust me, when it's finished it will perform like a brand new Huracan Performante) but don't enforce the training to it yourself, then the dog is going to learn it can get away with certain things with you. Not gonna lie, I was very afraid to leave our baby there for a month for training, and hated that I couldn't see her the first two weeks. However, I related her experience to my experiences as a nurse and I understand the importance of allowing professionals space to do their job without interference. Indie would not have gained a solid foundation for off-leash training without being submerged in practice every day in the beginning. The trainers are amazing and we have learned so much from them. Daniel has been especially helpful and has communicated tips to address Indie's strengths and weaknesses. They took excellent care of her while she was boarded and provided extra nutrition (larger portions) to give her the energy she needed to train. The only hiccup we ever had at all was that they did not communicate that Indie would be moved to a new location that was opening, we found out on social media. They acknowledged their mistake and apologized immediately. As it turns out she was extremely lucky to be one of the first dogs to train at their brand new, much larger location. Both locations are extremely clean and well maintained. My biggest takeaway for anyone considering taking their pup here is please be aware that they do utilize e-collars for training. While they DO make a point to disclose this at drop off and on their website, the description is definitely sugar coated as there is a lot of stigma with them. Honestly, I used to find e-collars inhumane but since becoming educated on how to properly use them I am now a big proponent, particularly for larger working-breed dogs. The trainers use a ton of positive reinforcement along with applying the absolute minimum level of stimulation or vibration from the e-collar to get your dogs attention and advise that e-collars are typically temporary measures until the dog understands commands. I truly believe that safe use of e-collars can enhance a dogs quality of life based on what I have observed at Club K9. One other takeaway is that the success of their training programs depends HEAVILY on you, the handler! You have to be dedicated to continuously practicing and attending the lessons on Tuesday's and Thursday's. Dogs require continuous repetition to learn and if you cannot dedicate a lot of time to the teachings then it is not a good idea for you. They also disclose this from the beginning. Finally, I must add that on the day of her exit lesson they bathed her, groomed her, and even washed the blankets we brought for her!! I have no idea what shampoo they used but whatever it was she has never been more soft and she has almost completely stopped shedding! I would love if an employee could let me know what used :)) I highly recommend investing in training at Club K9 if you are willing to apply their methods and dedicate the time necessary for success. read more

The staff at Club K 9 was amazing. We called every morning to check on our dog while we were away and they were very polite and informed us of everything going on. They seemed excited to have our puppy there! They even offered to send pictures, which they did every day, and it made us feel so much better. He was clean and happy when we picked him up. My beautiful dog Sage is a completely different dog now. And she is still playful when you want to play. She's doing so well. I really appreciate Terry, Zack and Josh at Club k9. We enrolled our Cane Corso in the 2 week training class and we are very excited with the results! Our pup had aggression towards other dogs and the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable about correcting his behavior. They adjusted his training to cater to his aggression and when we went to pick him up, it was awesome to see that he could be comfortable in his place next to other dogs. It was difficult for us to drop our boy off for two weeks, but the staff was extremely kind and allowed us to message them for updates on how he was doing and his progression, which made our time without him much easier. I only wish they included photos/videos of him so we could see! Either way, I was very comfortable knowing my dog was in good hands. Terry was awesome as well! He was very helpful in teaching us how to handle our dog and you can tell how talented he is when training. He explained everything we needed to know and made sure that we would keep in touch to update on Pharaoh's progress. The location isn't the best, but facility is the nicest I've ever seen. It's honestly beautiful inside and you really wouldn't expect it before you walk in. Very clean and doesn't smell like cleaning products. It's organized and the dogs are safely kept in nice spaces. We will definitely be back when needing to board our dog and eventually enroll him in service dog training! I would highly recommend Club K9! read more
