I brought my 10 year-old Persian cat here for a shave (or "Lion Cut!") to help him with the heat in the summer (he was groomed back in July). Paws Palace did a great job! I was able to get a next-day appointment when I called. He's been groomed a few times in his life, and so I knew I needed to be clear about any special instructions. My boy cat has very sensitive man nipples that get easily irritated by clippers - they've gotten infected on two separate occasions at different groomers. So I indicated that he was sensitive and to be careful with his undercarriage. If you are new to having your pet groomed: know that a pet grooming appointment is like a hair appointment - the clearer you are, the better it will turn out. Sometimes it takes a go or two until you know what is right for your pet. I dropped the cat off in the morning and received a call about 3 hours later that he was finished. He was clean and clipped! And his belly was groomed with no nicks or abrasions to his nipples (yay!). I was surprised to find he was given a tiny red bandana. He looked like an idiot. Hilarious. The one negative was that they used some kind of powder or something on him (smelled baby powder-ish) that lasted for a few days. Our other cat reacted very negatively to it, and I didn't much care for it myself. Parking is around back - I haven't had a problem. Shop was clean, prices very reasonable. I plan to make my gentleman cat another appointment soon! read more

I recommend this place to all the pet owners I run into, which is A LOT! Definitely guilty of being a helicopter mom to my Cocker Spaniel, Ziggy, and there's no other place I will take him other than here. Spaniels are one of the more difficult breeds to groom, physically and emotionally, and he always comes back looking more dapper than ever! Ziggy comes out running in the highest speed, but looks so great and she is totally worth every penny! I've taken my dog Tucker to Paws Palace twice now and I recommend them 100.0%. Ginger is the owner, she has groomed Tucker once and a lady and both did excellent work. I liked Ginger so much, that I asked her if she would watch Tucker while I was out of the country, and luckily for me, she had an opening. Took my coton for a bath and hair trim. Showed Ginger a picture of what I want my dog to look like. When I went to pick her up they had completely shaved her down except for the head. Was sooo disappointed that even after showing a photo they ended up with such a bad job. Few days later I took my dog for nail grinding coz my dog bleeds with nail clipping . Told Ginger the same but they still ended up cutting the nails instead of grinding which resulted in one of the nail bleeding. I took my dog to paw's palace when the old owners had that place and they did a great job. I didn't know of the changes, but as soon as I arrived I notice the changes, but didn't ask. When I pick up my dog I notice the difference of quality of job right away. Spots longer and lines from the trimmer. His tail cut was so uneven. My dog was so nervous when I pick him up. I'm not happy at all with his hair cut. I'll not be back at this place. I'll take my business somewhere else. read more

Today I got my 7 month old maltipoo "groomed" here. I showed them a picture of what I wanted her to look like and brushed her out to make sure she had no matts (so that they wouldn't have to shave her super short). I also asked to have her nails clipped and tear stains cleaned. I picked her up 5 hours after dropping her off and she was shaved with about only 1 cm of hair and different lengths all over her body. Her nails were not cut or filed, and her tear stains were not cleaned at all. I am so disappointed in this waist of money and will not be coming back. read more

Beware! 1st visit with my dog.. and the last. He looks great but eyes red & squinting on the way home. Eyes were painfull! Called vet & diagnosis was damaged corneas .. both eyes. Very painfull!! He will heal with meds & about 2 weeks.. we hope. Im sure it was not intentional so I called paws palace this morning & spoke with Angel who groomed yesterday. Explained situation & asked for help in determining what may have caused eye injury. Response. Claimed that nothing happened. "Not worried about the eyes" WHAT? Protect the eyes.. always! I'm a big advocate on writing great reviews because a lot of times, people crave the negative... I'm writing about this place so no one else will go through what my poor cat did today... I have taken my 7 year old cat here two other times- first time around I loved it! No appt needed! Quick & friendly! Second time, same service in the beginning except once I got home, I noticed that the lady had cut one side of his whiskers off... I was so upset- My cat was probably less traumatized than myself... I figured it was a mistake & his whiskers grew back... In an attempt to get him groomed again, I went in and spoke to the very friendly hispanic lady who doesn't speak very english very well- not a big deal but today it was... I told her that last time she cut his whiskers and I said, "please do not cut anything around his face, do not cut his whiskers..." She looked at me and said, Okay... I repeated myself and pointed at his whiskers and said- these, do not cut... she smiled and said okay. ??? Four hours later, I pick up my cat- WITH NO WHISKERS... WTF! Maybe I should've searched in spanish how to say, do not cut his whiskers... Needless to say, I left without paying & in tears... I hope that he will be fine... Just a warning... read more

My first experience here: GOOD: Pets came back looking happy and freshly groomed. I have not been to this place so this is a partial review. ( my husband pick up and dropped off my pooches) Hubby said this is a nice clean space and that the lady who does the is experienced and friendly. He sensed a safe trust - and well I did tell him the reviews were all good based on previous readings of this establishment. BAD: I should have check this prior to the girls coming back from grooming, though she clipped pass my Pippa's nerve and she has slight bleeding when I take her to the park to run and do the furry things that she does. My poor baby I was mortified when I notice the bleed on her left paw, the nail was cut to the nerve and that is why when she run, she tend to hit the nerve and it bleeds a tad. I know this might be hard for the groomer to see, but that is why I entrust you to be the professional that you are and patiently clip my babies claws with care. Plenty of availability Friendly staff $60 for cut & wash on small dogs Don't follow direction well, I specifically said I like his ears short and don't shave his face and they did exact opposite. The also showed me how short they would go and he came out super short.. He def had a poodle cut which I hate & specified I didn't want. Also noticed ears were not cleaned inside, I know he doesn't like his ears cleaned but it doesn't mean avoid doing it & not mention it. As well, not sure if they use scissors, but his hair was patchy, long strands of her left on him through his body. Last thing, don't make me tip & pay before I see what you've done to my dog... Walk in service, no appointment needed, which is perfect for how I am. My two dogs are HIGH MAINTENANCE when it comes to having their nails clipped, they TRIP OUT, which is why I hate trimming them myself. I walked it, she clipped all 8 paws and even threw in a poop-shoot-cleanout (those with small dogs know what that is!) for free. I know enough Spanish, so the language was as much of a problem as maybe it would be for someone else. They only take cash or check, no credit cards, so come prepared! read more

This place was a suggestion of a friend and I'm glad I gave it a try. I'm very happy I finally found my go-to place to get my doggie groomed. I've taken my 7 year old shitzy/poodle/God-knows-what mix a few times now and while she hates grooming no matter what, I'm at ease that she's getting the best care. For the most part I've had luck getting an appointment within the same week of calling. Drop off early and they will call you once it's time for pick up. I think it's important to communicate what you want, sure the front lady may not be able to speak English fluently, so a suggestion bring a picture of what you want. Especially for those of you going for the first time. My poor dog has a few scars from previous groomers "gone wrong," so every time we go in (or call) I reminded them of the areas they should take extra care or slow down. They are pretty busy so I don't know if you will have a lot of luck trying to do same day or day before. I tell them what I'm looking for and that's the way the dog come out. Also they if you mention your dog has some injury or cut (from a previous hack job groomer) they pay good attention to what you say to avoid hurting your dog. read more

I brought my dog Charley here for the first time recently and I really enjoyed it. They have great reviews on Yelp so I decided to try it. The gal who runs the place was the one who treated me and my puppy and she was very kind. The facility is very clean and small! The price was great too! It seems these days you can't get a good wash and cut without paying a ton of money, but this place is did great. My dog is a rescue and he has trouble trusting anything that is new. He gave them a bit of a hard time (sorry again!) but they didn't over react and were so nice to me about it. I apologized! The Wash and Cut was GREAT! They did such an amazing job, he looks so cute. They also gave him the cutest bandanas. I would love to come here again soon, if they will have us! HAHA read more

My puppy is 3 months old and a Lhasa Apso which means a lifetime of grooming for him. His first experience would set the tone for all his grooming to come, so I wanted it to be a great experience. I looked at tons of Yelp reviews on every grooming place within 30 miles before deciding to try this one. I made the appointment a day in advance and dropped him off at 10 AM for a bath, brush, nail trim, and a trim around his face. The lady (owner, I think) was very nice and came out from behind the counter to pet him and hold him and make him feel more relaxed as he is a timid guy. He was ready 2 hours later and looks like a show dog! His face was trimmed exactly like I asked for and his fur was silky and smelling good. The price was fabulous, ($30) I had a Lhasa when I lived in So. Cal and I never paid under $55, mostly $60-75.00. I am completely happy, DJ was happy and wagging when I picked him up. The place is clean and easy to get to, there is parking, I have no negatives at all! This will be his steady groomer from now on! read more

I think they changed owners :( last time I took my dog they completely shaved him and ruined his tail. His hair is growing all messed up. This had never ever happened before even if my dog was matted. I am so disappointed -it took me a long time to find a place I liked and now this. We love taking our golden doodle to paws palace! Our puppy just prances right in! We are very thankful to have such a high quality groomer near our home. We are happy to support a local business! We normally take our Penny for regular nail trimming every few weeks and for a fancy bath/ haircut a few times a year. Penny is a full sized doodle. Nails are $15 and a full bath/cut is about $120 depending on the number of hours they spend on her. The bath and cut is totally worth it a few times a year! (Otherwise we give her regular baths on our own) They are very busy on Saturdays. Make those appointments in advance. Try to take your pup in on weekdays when they have more availability. Call ahead and leave a message if they can't pick up, they will call back as soon as they can. read more

The manager here is nice, but the results I got were a disaster. I dropped my dog off and ask for her to get a bath, deshedding, nail trim and glands done. She said ok that it would take about 2 hours. Less than an hour later they call me saying she is done. I was then worried because it seemed too short for them to have done a proper job. I come back and pay, then they bring out my corgi and they have cut the hair on her butt without me asking. I did not ask for a cut, and the shampoo job was mediocre. It looked ok, so I left. Once I got home, I saw that they didn't even a good job of cutting her. Some people like to cut their corgis to give them a bubble butt appearance, but this just looked like someone had taken clippers and lopped off her cute butt fluff and even clipped her tail in the process. Then I see that they SHAVED HER STOMACH. What kind of grooming job is that? Who requests a dog with fur to get just their stomach shaved? Regardless, I never asked for her to be cut AT ALL. The worst part is that there is no fixing this. I have to wait months for it to grow back. I desperately wish I had never gone here. In response to the owners: I don't appreciate the fact that I did not make a scene and left a tip being thrown in my face as evidence that the service was not bad. I thought I made it clear that I paid and tipped in good faith prior to seeing my dog's results. I also previously mentioned that I did not see how bad the cut job on her butt was and that her stomach was shaved at all until I got home. On the phone, you said that you would "consider" giving a refund. I will be checking back to see if my card is refunded, and I hope it will because it is the right thing to do. read more

I absolutely love my pets and I do not just take them or leave them with anyone. When I first started taking my yorkie, I did not leave. I stayed there and waited until he was done getting groomed. They were very patient with me and allowed me to do this and always did a great job with my jay. Now that I have been taking him there for a while I feel comfortable leaving him there and coming back for him an hour later. He always looks so adorable when he leaves. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars. My first visit was absolutely fantastic. However my following two visits were... not great. The receptionist was able to accommodate me extremely last minute, and was SO HELPFUL and friendly!! I can't say how much I appreciated that. So let's start off, When you're first a customer they have you complete a typical new enrollment form. Part of the form I believe has questions about how you'd like your dog to be groomed. In there I added to let my pups lashes grow and not cut them and they cut it EVERY SINGLE TIME! Ugh. So frustrating. I also specifically told them in person when I dropped her off and ...then they snipped them off!! The cuts were also so inconsistent. All 3 were different, and by far the best cut was on my first visit.. which lead to my second visit. My second visit, my dog suddenly had a white patch on her back. the fur was course in that area unlike the other parts. It was never there before and I'm not sure what happened there..? I waited 4 months for it to grow out to see her normal fur back. I wished I called and asked instead of letting it slide. Her skirt was so uneven and there's no definitive line for it. It was just a horrible uneven cut that didn't blend. I thought I'd give them another chance since my first visit went so well. But on the third visit, I saw that they nicked her ear, and didn't even bother telling me! I didn't realize until I arrived home and saw blood in her ears when I did her usual body check. Same uneven unblended cut. I ended up learning how to do a schnauzer cut via YouTube. And for the first try I think it went well. I had her skirt the way I liked it. But I flooped up on her chest. Lol. Anyway after my first self taught trial run, I now know how much patience it takes to groom a dog, and I still have great respect for the profession. I just wished they'd listen to customer wishes and were more up front about what happened during the grooming session. read more

This place is fantastic! They have a ton of business, but they always go a fantastic job with our dog and are very gentle with him. He doesn't love getting groomed, but he always feels comfortable and happy with the staff here. We have a mini schnauzer and we don't love the traditional cut on him, so they always groom our dog exactly how he ask. Very reasonable and our boy always leaves looking like a doll. read more

I have one seriously happy, clean, wonderfully smelling, white Labrador. I brought him in to get cleaned up and nails trimmed. He's a big boy but they handled him no problem. We brought our 14 year old blind, going deaf dog to be groomed last week and they took great care of him! He's healthy but can be a little timid if he's not familiar with the environment.
