We just might be one of the most difficult cases LOMA has ever had. Our two rescues were fighting and we called LOMA in absolute desperation. They seemed to get along really well at first and then things went really wrong. We had no idea what to do. We were at a loss. Dr. Lorraine had to use every trick and tool she has to help our boys and to help us too! At that time, our two boys were about 2 years old. We had many so many trials and errors. Dr. Lorraine was incredibly patient with us. The training really was for us just as much as it was for our dogs. Our boys are now 7 years old and they have both made a complete turn around. They aren't the same dogs anymore. They have developed some good manners and they have learned to get along with each other. They actually enjoy having people come to visit versus having the meltdowns they used to have when someone set foot into our house. We have consistently kept Dr. Lorraine's instructions as part of our daily routine. The time and money we spent training our dogs was a very valuable investment for us. About an hour later, I received a call from the receptionist saying my dog had "accidentally been shaved." At first, I thought there had to be some misunderstanding, so I called back. That's when I was told that the wrong groomer had taken the wrong dog from the wrong kennel and completely shaved my Shih Tzu. When I say completely shaved, I mean everything. His signature teddy bear face and his long tail were shaved down with the shortest blade. I barely recognized my own dog when I picked him up. Before arriving, I told the receptionist that I wanted to speak with the manager, but I was informed the manager wasn't there that day. Initially, they said they would only charge me for the bath, but I made it clear I wasn't willing to pay for any service because my dog was groomed without my authorization and completely contrary to the instructions I had given. The receptionist was incredibly kind, apologetic, and professional. She told me she had spoken with the manager and that all charges would be waived. She also assured me the manager would call me the following day. That call never came. My poor baby was shaved so closely that, in the middle of summer, he had to wear a sweater at night because he was shivering from being cold. It was heartbreaking to see him so uncomfortable because of a mistake that should never have happened. I understand that mistakes happen, and thankfully my dog's hair will eventually grow back. However, what I can't overlook is how poorly this situation was handled afterward. A sincere apology and a follow-up from management would have gone a long way. Because of the lack of accountability and customer service, I will never return to Pup Town, nor would I recommend them to anyone.

We had already called through 9 other avian vets, who either weren't in the office today, or were booked solid. The situation with "Squeaky" was very complex, but Dr. Davis was 'cautiously honest, yet hopeful' -- characteristics that made her easy to trust. No one wants to hear that their beloved pet may not make it, but her gentle candor helped to set my expectations, and prepare me for the coming hours in terms of how intense my efforts to save him will need to be. She methodically, and deductively ruled out the usual suspects, and helped derive a plan based on how much we thought Squeaky would be able to tolerate. Additionally, you can tell their kindness comes from a deeper office culture, as evidenced by their Sticky-Note rainbow of positive affirmations framing the bathroom mirror. After 10 years of being a Pawderosa customer, they've lost my business for good…read more I am the type of person that likes to build a relationship with a company or service and stay there long term, so it didn't bother me that Pawderosa didn't have all the bells and whistles (like included daycare with boarding and live camera feeds) their competition has. I was a very content customer, other than one issue that I considered relatively minor in the grand scope of things. I've personally referred dozens of people to them over the years, which I now greatly wish I could take back. A few weeks ago, Pawderosa asked their customers to fill out a survey to ostensibly help them improve their service. I filled it out with generally high marks, but did note that the hours of operation are tricky to abide by. The posted hours here on Google are incorrect; they actually close their lobby every day from 12-1, and occasionally other times too for staff trainings or for other reasons. There is no communication with their clients about this other than posting it on their door. I am a business owner, mom to a toddler, and I have 2 pets as well, so trying to find time to drop off my dog without running into their closures has sometimes been an issue for me. I noted that in the survey, and their reply to that was to tell me to call the office if the door is locked and they would facilitate a drop off that way. That solved my problem, and I thought that was the end of that. Fast forward a couple of weeks, and my wife arrived 5 minutes after 12 to drop off our dog. She called me and I said "Oh no worries, they told us just to call them if this happens so I'll do that." I called and they let it ring through a few times, but I kept on trying, as that is what I was instructed to do. They finally answered, I explained the situation, and they told my wife to go ahead and drop off our dog. When she stepped into the office, Hannah was extremely rude to her, ignoring her greetings and admonishing her to mind the posted hours next time. My wife walked away feeling like she had just been sent to the principals office! So of course, I wanted to address this rudeness: I sent an email to one of the managers in hopes that we'd be able to clear the air and receive an apology for the rude treatment. What ensued were some of the most humiliating and awkward conversations my wife and I have ever been party to in a professional setting. Hannah called me from her personal cell phone (perhaps to avoid the call being recorded on the company line, but that is pure speculation) and berated me for 3 minutes straight. She let me know in no uncertain terms that she was not sorry for behaving the way she behaved, and gave me a talking to like I was a disobedient child for calling during their lunch hour as instructed. When I asked who I could escalate this issue to, given that she made NO attempt to smooth this issue over with me, she told me "no one" and that she's the top of the line due to the owner being a busy entrepreneur who doesn't speak with clients. Being a business owner myself, I found that rather shocking. I would never tell any of my customers that I am too busy to speak with them, especially not people that have been loyal to my business for 10 years and spent tens of thousands of dollars at my establishment. But either way, I took the hint. Hannah and Pawderosa management were letting me know that they don't need my business and to not let the door hit me on the way out. Then my wife called, giving them the benefit of the doubt and sure that this was a huge misunderstanding. She spoke with Amanda, who doubled down on Hannah's message, saying that I am "a bad vibe," "hostile," "irritating" and that I am a "problem client." Amanda's idea of fixing this was to cut me out of all future communications and deal exclusively with my wife. She asked what specifically I have done to warrant these descriptions of my character, and Amanda said "well I don't know off the top of my head." When asked if I had ever raised my voice to her or any staff member or used bad language with any of them, Amanda admitted no, I had never done that. So by their own admission, there is actually no evidence of me being anything but cordial and professional with them, besides my "vibe". Safe to say, this was all news to me! I rarely even interact with their staff, outside of sending them reservation request emails and vaccination updates. When I pick up or drop off my dog, it's a 1 minute interaction at most, and I am, as a rule, very sure to say Thank You. So, I scoured my email to see if I had ever been a "problem client" as accused, and I did have some constructive feedback for them in 2017 -- nearly 8 years ago. I suppose that and letting them know on their survey that their hours are inconvenient are enough to throw away a 10 year relationship and make me feel like I'm back in high school being gossiped about by the mean girls.

However once I did receive a response surprisingly they had available weekend appointments within the same week! I received a text about 20mins before the appointment letting me know they were en route. Once arrived Sydney came to the door, explained the process and took the first pup to the van. Once the first pup was finished she came back with the cutest Thanksgiving scarf around her neck and she smelled sooooo clean. The second pup received a haircut and came back with the same bandana and the same clean smell. Then to my surprise, I received two of the cutest pics through text message of my pups looking happy and ready for Turkey Day!!! There are many discounts and upgrades offered so don't forget to ask!

This dog has gotten me on the ban list from groomers in the past so I was ready to get kicked out of Southern Spaw, relocate, and try again at another groomer. After today experience, I'm pleased to say that they're not kicking me out. They trimmed AND buffed Lily's nails in less than 5 minutes, and she was wagging her tail when she came out to me. I'm happy and confident in knowing that the staff here is experienced enough to take on even difficult cases. I will continue to come here for all of my dogs and I can't say enough how much of appreciate them taking the time needed to make sure Lily was comfortable.
