This place is great. I had called around to several different shops asking for advice on fixing my baby monitor(the monitor needed soldering repair). Once I mentioned the word baby monitor, all of the shops refused to work on that sort of device. All except Payless Wireless! They were the only place that was willing to look at it, and after asessing the repair, they were happy to fix it! I was so impressed with their service and their friendly staff. This establishment is downright unworthy of any business. I had been coming here for basic phone repairs for years prior. I am not sure if they switched manufacturers of their supplies, or switched ownerships or workers, but it is not what it used to be. My mother had her phone screen "fixed" for $160. It had a 30 day guarantee. What do you know? 33 days later the LCD starts acting up. I went back, they take the phone, have me wait for the repair only to tell me after I come back that they would have to charge me another $90. I was confused as to why. Being that it passed the warranty date they would have to charge me again. After I haggled them a bit, they said they would be so kind as to charge me 'only' $75 and make no money on labor only for the part. Supposedly, they say that it is the price of the part. My friend owns a repair shop in LA. Anyone in the business knows that the price is no where near $75. The point is, why would I want to get it repaired again if it's likely that they will replace it with yet another faulty part and then I would have to waste even more money? So BEWARE. The parts they use are faulty and cheap. They last just past the warranty in order to make profit. Of course I left with the faulty phone and got it repaired elsewhere for a fraction of the price. The guys here were VERY nice. However, the screen they used to replace and fix my iPhone screen with has MAJOR issues. Force touch no longer works, the coloring and screen brightness are awful, and the phone CONSTANTLY mistakes scrolling for clicking. It's awful! To top it off, the screen broke within 3 DAYS of replacing it. My original iPhone screen lasted 5 YEARS before cracking. Super super nice people, but unfortunately the product was just awful. I had a laptop screen problem. A friend recommended Payless Wireless one block away from the Living Room where I hang out. It only took them about 10 mins. research to find the problem and quote a price. I needed a new screen. I asked them the next day what the cost of a new battery was and they quickly gave a total price for new screen and batt. of $225.00 including tax and labor. He said there would be no additional costs when I asked. The parts came about 4 days later, I brought the laptop in and they were finished in under 2 hrs. Next day I called them about batt. not charging. They said bring it in ASAP, I did, it turned out to be a defective off-brand batt. (It happens). They put my old batt. back in and ordered new batt. from the factory in under 10 mins. About 10 days later they called and said new batt. arrived. I brought my laptop back the next day, went and got a fast food breakfast, and received the laptop. He said it cost him $15.00 more for the batt. and asked if would pay for it. I told him I couldn't afford it (true). He folded his hands, bowed in my direction and that was the end of it. IMO they were fast, efficient, acted honorably and deserve a good rating. read more

After so many years and several iPhones, I finally dropped my phone. The screen landed flat on asphalt and completely shattered. I had to get it fixed immediately so there was not much time to "shop" around. $160+ tax and a bit over an hour later, it was fixed, or so I thought. The screen they installed has an anomaly. There is a "smudge" in the middle of the screen that can be rubbed away but comes back EXACTLY the same after a short time of use. Not a deal breaker to me because when the screen is on, its hardly noticed. Over the next week of use, I noticed that the screen doesn't act the same to touch as before. Mostly in the lower left of screen. Very frustrating when typing an "a" and you get a space. Also touching a link in one app has triggered a different app to come to the front. I can only imagine that those problems are a result of a poor install. The last issue that brought me back to the store was after taking the cover off, I noticed that the middle of the top to at least the middle of the right side of the screen isn't attached to the phone frame. I didn't want to mess with it so I went back to the store. None of the issues were a result of misuse on my part so I hoped they would fix it. The short answer was no. I tried to explain everything to what felt like a person who didn't care. Just excuses as to why they weren't responsible to redo the job. In the end, I left before getting angry at the wildly poor customer service. As a side note, I'm more of a "just let it go" kinda guy. This is the first review I've ever written. I'm doing it because their "cost" to do the right thing might have been $50 bucks and 20 minutes. Based on the $160 I spent initially, they would still have made a little money. My hope is that this review will encourage people to look elsewhere. The willingness to provide a screen with issues and the lack of quality workmanship for the install as well as the bad customer service after the fact is why I wrote this and why I will never go back. When i got to the store, he tells me there's a mistake and they don't have it in stock. I need my phone for work so I asked if he could refer or help me find another that could me get my phone back up and running cuz im stranded. Unfortunately I failed the test. iPhone 8 screen was cracked, repaired it here for $80 something, they tried to not throw in a free tempered glass as advertised till I saw another customer ask for it. After 25 days my microphone went out on my phone, no one could hear me on the other line nor could I record unless I have blue tooth headsets on, never had this issue with iPhone history, hmm.. they give you a 30 day warranty I should have came in on the 25th day but ignored it big mistake. I've heard on reviews how after a month the phone starts to break down from what they call illegal repairs or repairs from non corporate third party vendors. I read reviews of similar experiences but took my risk. Also I jut dropped my phone for the first time and my screen is cracked again so the tempered glass and screen is very cheap and easily breaks.. Personally I would say it's much more cheaper safer and affordable to go to an apple iPhone store or Android to get your phone fixed by the original company. I think these guys might of taken some parts out and replaced them with cheap ones for more profit I don't know that but sorry it wasn't worth it. I should have spent that extra $30-50 dollars but now I have to spend 80 more a month later? I don't think so. read more

10/10 Customer Service. Walked in with a broken back-facing camera. Farhad had the part for a very reasonable price. Got it fixed within an hour and 30 minutes. Turns out, there was no need to replace the camera, but simply fix a connection issue inside. Most places probably would have installed the new part anyway to make profit, but Farhad was honest and charged only for labor. First of all the customer service from John is great. The reason why I'm giving this place a two star is because my we got my girlfriend's brother phone fixed here for his iPhone 6. He had his screen repaired and his battery changed. At first it was a perfect repair but after a while his phone screen started glitching, and we brought it back to get a new repair. Right after that his new battery went to from new to dead. His phone could only be on if it was plugged in. Great customer service, but horrible products for repair. read more

There are certain things that you can purchase where the quality of service is not critical BUT GETTING YOUR OLD LIFE BACK ON TRACK WHEN YOUR PHONE HAS STOPPED WORKING IS NOT ONE OF THEM...!!! It is typically very anxiety provoking to potentially lose some important data in the transfer, and to live life while your phone is in the repair shop, plus it is just plain complicated and time consuming figuring out how to fix or replace, and dealing with SIM & Micro SD cards, and logging into the various online accounts, and downloading apps... etc... This is just one area of life where there is a huge value in someone who knows what they are doing TAKING OWNERSHIP of your problem, and being creative to figure out the best was to solve it... as if you were their sister or mom or something. Ugh! I cracked my Samsung phone glass and found out that almost no one carried the replacement screen in San Diego. Yes, called all over. I eventually contacted Payless Wireless, and they had it in stock. (bottom line: fast, well done, very nice team). I was quoted a great price --lower than others I called/researched. They also said I could wait and to allow 1 1/2 hours - turns out it was only 30 min. (Did you know Staples repair service sends all Androids out for 3-5 days?) After arriving, Perla at the front counter was very helpful and nice. I asked about nearby coffee shops to kill time and walked to one she recommended, which was a pretty awesome place (The Living Room on El Cajon Blvd.) The phone was perfectly repaired pretty quickly. I was very satisfied with my Google pixel battery replacement at Payless wireless. They were very fast to respond with a quote. They did not have the battery in stock but ordered for me and it arrived in a couple days. The actual replacement was very fast (about 30 minutes). They give you a 30 day warranty on their repairs as well. Much better than my experience at fix 4 less. Fix 4 less accidentally cracked my screen when doing a battery repair and replaced the screen with a faulty one. I'm not a person who uses yelp to review great experiences. Sorry. I usually only write about bad experiences to prevent others from going thru the same. Today is an exception. I went to the fashion valley apple store with an iPhone that wouldn't connect to WiFi (all of a sudden) and had stopped providing gps services for a few months. They did their "magic diagnostics" which resulted in "sorry you need a new phone" Well I know a new iPhone is released every September-October so I declined. I'd rather wait for the new phone. Shortly after, I happened to see a mobile phone repair shop at the corner of College and El Cajon. I went in and met Jon who immediately said he could help. Not only help with my WiFi issue & GPS but also get me an apple quality new screen (mine was polarized) which I hated. All together a great price too. They said it would be ready in 4-5 hours. Sure enough in less than 4 my phone was ready! Yay! I was elated. I will go to them again. They are friendly. They are excellent at what they do. My phone is working perfectly! I'm so pleased.
