Really sad to leave this review about PAZ. When we first started going there, we were so impressed by the Doctor, staff and their quality of care. Fast forward a few years and there's been some turnover with the vet staff and things have to one downhill. Recently our cat got sick, wasn't eating, going to the bathroom, and he was vomiting. We called first thing Monday, very concerned about his condition. We were told they were busy and the earliest he could be seen was 5pm. As the day progressed his condition worsened. We called in concerned to see if there was any way he could be seen earlier. We wee told he could not. We drop him off at 5, and hear nothing from the doctor untIl we call at 6:30. He still hadn't been seen. 15 minutes later we receive a call that hIs urinary tract was blocked and he needed to be rushed to the ER vet. Somehow, despite knowing he would have to go to the ER vet, they decided to perform $450 worth of tests without our consent. These tests provided absolutely no value and had to be run again anyways by the ER vet. When I asked the doctor about why he needed the tests, and why he couldn't have been seen earlier, she got very agitated and blamed us for not distinguishing between urine and poop when we said he "hadn't gone to the bathroom". Apparently had they known he hadn't urinated he would've been seen earlier. Needless to say, after many years of loyalty to PAZ neither of our pets will be returning. They clearly are out to frivolously run up vet bills and prey on pet owners who have no recourse. read more

Dr. Vaughn is incredible! After newly relocating to Austin, I was scouring the internet trying to find a suitable vet for my little chihuahua mix, Zola. To be honest, I had never heard of a mobile vet before, so I was unsure about going with that option; but having read Dr. Vaughn's stellar reviews here on Yelp, I thought I'd give it a try. I visited the Corner Vet website first, and since it was under construction, I set my appointment up via email. Dr. Vaughn came by the next day and was so wonderful with my little girl. He educated me on vaccines and even had special "baby needles" to use when administering the vaccinations to ensure minimal pain and trauma. At the end of the visit, he went one step further toward awesome by offering me some simple yet helpful dog training tips, which I still use to this day! I will definitely be sticking with Dr. Vaughn for as long as I stay in Austin... I can't recommend him highly enough! He gave me the best vet service I have ever experienced and I'm confident he would do the same for you. read more

Took my dog Duke in for an eye infection. Paz got me in on a Saturday. Dr Thompson and staff were awesome. They clinic does not feel like a vet. It's a great vibe when you walk in the door! Would recommend this place to any of my friends! read more

We had our first experience with Dr. Nicholas Vaughan this morning, and I can honestly say I have never had a better experience with a veterinarian. I emailed him yesterday concerned about my 10 week old St. Bernard puppy, and he emailed back right away. He was very communicative, and made time to see us less than 24 hours later. One of the first things he said when he came in was "I want to get Meta started on probiotics." That pretty much sold me right away, I love his expertise and his very balanced approach of using both holistic and western medicine. Not only did he come and get Meta all set up, he spent a lot of time providing us with really valuable education and resources to help us raise our puppy. I have no doubts that Meta's health is the best possible hands as he grows up, and will be recommending Austin Corner Vet to everyone I know! read more

After getting referrals from several coworkers, I took my dog to Dr. Lassin @ South 1st PAZ. I was nervous as my dog is a rescue with a ton of anxiety and typically does not do well with new people. Not only was the front office staff warm and welcoming, Dr. Lassin was extremely knowledgeable and sent us away feeling great! A few months later when we were having a health scare, I called late night to see if I could get a quick appointment. Not only did the front office staff evaluate him thoroughly via many questions on the phone to make sure it was not a dire emergency, they also provided me with resources to use in case of it becoming an emergency. They were able to squeeze us in first thing the next day to see Dr. Webb. She was extremely compassionate and got right down to checking every possibly issue out & keeping me in the loop every step of the way. The front office staff called to check in multiple times afterwards (and it did feel like they genuinely cared, not just marking a to do item off their list) as well as Dr. Lassin and Dr. Webb. I feel so comfortable relying on this AMAZING staff to take care of my pet. :) yay! read more

The experience with Paz Veterinary has been a roller coaster, there is always something with them, the prices are not friendly, their doctors take their time to approve medicines, and we ended up buying from them because of the due day. My last experience: we have 2 dogs, both have the yearly check about the same time, I request a yearly medicine for both of them, one got approved for the whole year and the second only 6 month supply, when I asked why they just gave me a justification that in March we will have a review. We didn't make any sense since he approved my other dog full year supply. We decided not come back. Funny fact this place name is PAZ, paz means peace in Spanish, but the only thing that I got from them is the opposite of peace of Mind, I wonder if their personnel speaks Spanish, that's what you will expect when you enter in a place with an Spanish name, other than that would be a cultural appropriation. My advice take your dogs somewhere else, it wont be that different, you will get better price, and you probably wont have to stay in your car waiting.... read more

My dogs saw Dr. Wilson today accompanied by vet tech, Brandon. Right off the bat they were genuinely kind, competent; really cared about my babies. Animal lovers! I did not feel rushed. Each one sat and empathetically listened to what I had to say. I was thoroughly explained the possible diagnosis/treatment regiment in a fully comprehensible manner. They were also respectful toward my budget and without judgement. Would highly recommend this place! Oh, one more thing- Contrary to what Yelp says, this clinic is actually on E. Yay! Thank goodness I tried them out! I've been dealing with a severe skin condition with my dog for at least 6 months, now. Since he has always been the type of puppy who seemed to need frequent vet visits, I had him on a Banfield (Petsmart) plan, and took him there for his health concerns for a long time. While they had been helpful enough for all of Sparkplug's previous concerns, this recent one stumped them. I poured severe hours of my time every day and burned through my wallet trying to do anything and everything I could to help my dog feel better, based on their suggestions. I finally decided to get a second opinion, and I am so thankful I did! All of my questions were clearly answered, everything was clearly explained in detail so that I could fully understand the possible causes of his condition as well as each of the possible solutions to the problem, and a solid treatment plan was set up right away. I am confident that my poor dog will soon feel relief. I most definitely recommend them!! read more

Yesterday I took my 9 weeks old mini golden doodle to PAZ. I'm definitely over cautious of parvo, etc. First I walked in and the whole staff was beyond welcoming and great. We waiting then the vet tech came and got us and she was so helpful. Dr. Nick came in and answered any and all questions I had. As I'm definitely overly cautious I left feeling extremely happy with mine and June's visit. We're going back in 3 weeks and I'm 100% confident and trust them with my puppy! Dr. Lassin first started treating my Coton De Tulear a few months ago. She came in do to epilepsy and seizures. We were greeted with warmth and care. Then when Dr. Lassin came in he examined her and explained what could be going on. Was very comforting and he follows up on every test,question and concerns. Recommended a dietician and working with her to minimize my babies issues. I brought in the other 3 cotton de tutelar=4 dogs all together. They were having a great time. Again, we were treated with unconditional love and care for our dogs. Before my dogs would shake when they realized they were going to the vet. Now, they are so excited and play together while we wait in the room. That says a lot. A+ stellar facility and Doctor. Thank you! read more

Man, this place is so cool! My vet prescribed my dog some au natural treats that have allowed us to eliminate his twice daily medications. He went in for a cleaning and they made the call to ditch the front teeth that were rotting out. My dog recovered surprisingly quickly. He was in and out of surgery in only 4 hours which was great so I could get him home and baby him ASAP. This vet is unlike any I've ever been to - the vibe is very different and very South Austin. I'm so happy to have found this place and I can't recommend them enough. read more

I didn't know that mobile vets were even a real thing, but I found out that Dr. Nick is the real deal. My 8 year old black lab developed a skin condition where he started scratching his belly and losing hair, my old vet couldn't fix the problem. She said it might just be "old age". Even though her attitude and lack of iniative upset me, I didn't want to go to another vet, because it felt like I would be cheating on her. It turns out I didn't have to. About a week later, Me and Diesel were practicing for an upcoming field trail at Arboretum Shores and Nick came joggin up with his black lab. He immediately noticed Diesel's discomfort and started asking me questions. On the spot, he gave me some topical cream and then he scheduled an appointment the next day. He perfomed a checkup at my house and did some tests. It turns out Diesel was allergic to his new "high-dollar" dogfood that my old vet had recommended. Go figure. I happily called my old vet and told her to send Diesel's records to Dr. Vaughan. Nick fixed Diesel up, recommended some better (and less expensive natural food) and gave us a checkup call for free a month later. This dude is legit. read more

PAZ provides an incredible experience. I went in for a post ER visit for my cat, who was electrocuted after chewing up a cable cord. My tech, Paige, and Dr. Senthirajah, were not only knowledgeable and professional, but incredibly kind and caring people. This was the best vet experience I've ever had. Well, you never want to have to have an emergency vet but that happened to me and my sweet sweet Daisy. She got so sick of nowhere and when I was unable to reach my own vet I gave Corner Vet a call. (I had heard about Corner Vet through a friend of mine who uses Dr. Vaughn and absolutely loves him.) Dr. V called me back within minutes of hearing my message and talked me through some initial medical issues to look out for to assess how critical Daisy's condition was. Needless to say his responsiveness and passion for what he does really stood out. He offered up some home remedies to help encourage Daisy to eat, he called to check on her and me and was just overall a real world class experience. Hopefully I won't need another Emergent care for my little girl but Dr. Vaughn has certainly won our hearts for Daisy's ongoing health needs. So glad to have crossed paths with him. read more

This place is great! Really friendly, informed and helpful staff. Clean facilities. I've taken my puppy there three times so far for her shots and the appointments are always on time. The veterinarian actually takes time to educate you on what they are doing, gives great suggestions and is happy to answer all your questions. This place it great. I kind of just want to hang out here on a random afternoon because the people and the place are so great! Every person who we interacted with was super friendly. The environment was super welcoming and accommodating. They took great care of us and our cat. When we arrived, we were offered cold brew coffee or an espresso-nice touch! They put us in a room right away so that we could put our cat down and so that she wouldn't be stressed out. We really appreciated that. The vet was on time and the appointment was as quick as it could be. They were so great with our cat and she didn't even get stressed out. I highly recommend this vet!!! read more

I just took our second cat here for the first time and I couldn't be happier. My one concern from our first visit was that pricing wasn't transparent until check out (but I chalked it up to potentially the situation with a sick cat that wasn't eating), and it certainly was discussed with me this time. They obviously love animals and are very knowledgeable. And they love our pets (or at least lie convincingly :)) so that's a bonus!!! I called Paz in tears late yesterday expecting to make an appointment for the next day. Instead Dale found a way to squeeze us in as the last appointment and stayed late to figure out what was going on with our eldest pup. Our youngest little puppy had never stayed home alone and they were welcoming of our whole crew. I could go on and on about how good it felt to be at their office, how nice everyone was, and well they treated us but it wouldn't do it justice. We aren't really medicine people and at Paz I didn't feel like anything was suggested that I needed to fight or protect my dog from. Dr. Lassin is probably the best veterinarian I've ever had... and I have many animals and have lived in many cities. He knows his stuff and he also recommended a more holistic approach before he immediately put my cat on drugs. He called me to talk about a plan and recommendations ... he then emailed me what we talked about . He really spent time with us. It takes the sting of any vet bill down a notch when you are getting such great care. I've completely switched my animals to PAZ. Five stars aren't even enough for this vet. I couldn't recommend them enough. I'm not afraid to admit I can be a little "extra" when it comes to being a "dog mom", but when I'm worried about the health of my dog, I want to go to a place/leave him with doctors I trust entirely. That place is, without a doubt PAZ. The incredible, thorough, and wise doctors at PAZ are for sure a big reason for my 5 stars, but the nurses and receptionists also go above and beyond to make PAZ feel like home. I always feel more than welcome and they have all made a visible effort to get to know my dog and care for him. Whenever I call, they make it amazingly easy to get him an appointment and always do more than they need to make me feel OK respond to any requests I have. I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to know two doctors- Dr. Lassin and Dr. Riddick. I am so impressed with both their extensive knowledge and their authenticity in treating my dog. Dr. Lassin is so clearly dedicated to best form of care for the pets. He offers options that are both more natural based as well as medicine based. He also takes the time to email and always responds to my emails whenever I have a question. Furthermore, he takes the time to get to know myself and my husband - and even remembers little details of our life! Incredible. Dr. Riddick is also phenomenal. She has such clear joy in her work and always gives my (highly energetic, kiss-providing and jumping) Boxer so much love and attention. She takes extra time each appointment just to hug on him. This means the world to me. The knowledge she has is always so impressive, but what impresses me even more is her honesty and communication while we talk through what's going on with my dog. She also takes the time to follow-up to see if he is improving. Both these vets make me feel as though my dog is just as important to them as he is to me (and I never thought this would be possible). I am so thankful to have them in my dog's life. If you are looking for a vet, I can't recommend PAZ veterinary more-- the decision to have them in my and my dog's life was the best decision I have made and I feel so lucky to have the PAZ team. read more

PAZ definitely lived up to the hype. My pup is leash reactive which can make it stressful taking her to a new vet. Each staff member we encountered understood and was so nice to both of us. The best part for me was Dr. Croudep. My pup barked at him when he walked in the room, but he knew exactly what to do with her and within two minutes they were friends. I've never seen anything like it. We loved the whole experience, and would definitely recommend this vet and Dr. Croudep to anyone with a reactive dog! read more
