Only went in here because the Eagle Diner (next door with good food and service) was closing early for the 4th of July. Not really a "restaurant", mostly a bar with a few booths. Place seemed clean and seats & decor weren't worn or damaged. Service was acceptable from an inexperienced young waitress. Food was a mixed lot: The minestrone soup was good. The thin crust pizza was "okay". The thick crust pizza crust was not like any I have ever eaten before and seemed to be a think piece of toasted bread with some ingredients sprinkled on top and oven roasted for a few minutes. Worst part; the alcohol must be cheap since the bar (right next to dining area) and was full of LOUD-MOUTH DRUNKS in the middle of the afternoon. Not a good experience for myself, my wife and our 8 year old grandson. I'm sure booze pays the bills, so I doubt our experience unusual and we won't be going back. read more

The prices where reasonable for a pizza establishment located in Vail village. We ordered a Supreme pizza and the Aztec pizza. The Aztec had a unique flavor, which I did like because it is not something you would usually find on the menu at any other pizza place. I had a Bolognese pasta plate. The sauce was lacking the meat and the sauce tasted more like a tomato paste. Not the best sauce. I personally would not order that again. The server did check up on our table as frequently as expected. Calamari appetizer was over fried. But the food did not take long to come out to our table. read more

TLDR: way too expensive, service sucks, mediocre food, when my boyfriend spilled his drink got told "it's not our fault you spilled your drink if you want another one pay for it" I came into this place craving some pizza after a long day of hiking and all I got left with was disappointment and terrible service. First off, after waiting 15 minutes for a server to show up we realized no one was going to come and help us so we went up and found someone to come help us out. I usually would think this would happen because there were too many customers but the place was at 20% capacity maybe.... Anyways, thought I'd let it slide and continued on the culinary journey. Next we ordered the jalapeño poppers. We thought for a nice restaurant we would get nice poppers but we were disappointed when there were only 6 tiny poppers and really not that great. Finally!! For the kicker!!! My boyfriend was telling an animated story when his full beer fell over and spilled. Thankfully we were sitting outside and no one was around but I reassured him that we could just get the drink replaced. Was SHOCKED when the manager came over and said "sucks you spilled your drink but if you want another you're gonna have to pay for it, it's not our fault you spilled your drink". We went last Friday night..at about 7:00.. July 31 9 of us.. the host didn't think he could seat us all.. but I put our name on the list and shared he could split us up any way he wanted...he thought it would be 45 min to an hour... We were okay with waiting.... I wish I could remember our host name... he was marvelous let me know what he was doing... put Tables together and gathered chairs... we were all seated together and in less than 30 min!!! Ok, we're from Chicago, the home of pizza, and we have big expectations. Walking around beautiful Vail, I googled best pizza. This place pops up so we went. Very disappointing. Server was miserable and didn't want to be there. Venue was 1990's decor. Kids had pizza which was marginal. I had the calzone and was ok. We stopped in for a quick bite before a short hike. We got a large Caesar salad and a couple of slices. Service was quick and the price was reasonable for the area. The salad was OK and the pizza was also OK. It is nice that they serve za by the slice. That is a big plus. The za comes in thin crust or thick crust. Pazzo's has been in Vail for a long time, and is fairly popular. We think it is fine--not great, but better than the Blue Moose and Vendetta's, and unfortunately perhaps the best in Vail. The service was friendly and efficient. We were seated by the door on a lovely day, where we could hear the live music from nearby. The poppers were hot and crispy and delicious. The pizza was just not great. The biggest issue was its soggy crust. The plentiful toppings all slid off unless served with great care. That said, it was filling for hungry hikers, and it's likely we will return when we want a casual meal in Vail. read more

The pizza at Pazzo's was solid. The service was scandalous. First of all, our party of 5, all of us having ski gear, were placed in a booth for 4 people. We tried to pull up a chair and they very rudely told us that we could not do that and to make it work with the booth. Then we asked the hostess if we were allowed to switch to a bigger table to accommodate for us and our ski gear. She had to go ask her boss and they never got back to us about it. 20 minutes later, a party of 5 was put into a booth next to us and they asked to move, and the hostess graciously allowed them to go to a bigger table. Our original waiter left us because he was butthurt that we tried to add a chair so he had to get someone else to wait for our table. The waitress was never kind, although not super rude. Every time we asked her for more water or plates etc., she almost acted as if it was a burden. Also, they added a 20% tip post-tax. Overall, the food was good but the experience was shitty. I would've recommended this restaurant to some friends, but I can't get over how abysmal and abhorrent the service was. Will never be going back. read more

Stopped into Pazzo's while exploring Vail. It is a causal Italian restaurant. Not being from the area I was hoping for more of a local beer selection, but there are bars in the area that have a variety of options. For lunch, I was debating between the Twilight Zone Pazzone and the Meatball Sub. I opted for the Twilight Zone because I saw them in the oven while waiting for the restroom. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but someone at my table ordered the Meatball Sub and let me try it.. The Meatball Sub is absolutely the way to go. Between Lionshead and Vail Village parking garages sits Pazzo's. It's a good little pizza place to eat at following a long day on the slopes. It wasn't busy so getting a table was fast. The servers were friendly. However, they seem to very short staffed so service was definitely slower than it should have otherwise been. I'm pretty sure one of the cooks even came out to help refill drinks and check on people in the dining room. It seems everywhere is struggling so I can't fault them as they're trying. As for the pizza, it was great. I really enjoyed one of the specialty pies and the rest of the menu look good as well. Pazzo's will leave you wanting to come back so check it out. read more

I'm sorry to the owners, but you need to hire new staff. The only acceptable staff member we came across was the young hostess who happily greeted us. My husband and two kids came in to order take out. The guy behind the counter looked at us and didn't say a word. While I was looking at the menu, another couple came in to pick up their takeout order and the guy again didn't say a word to them and ignored them when they told him they were there to pick up their pizza. At this point, I assumed he didn't know how to speak English. I then proceeded to order a cheese pizza, and he rang me up and when he saw that I did not tip, he grabbed the receipt, rudely said "Thank you for that!" And went about his business. I'm sorry, was I supposed to tip for your service when I'm not dining? That wasn't even the worst of it. An older couple (party of 2) wanted to sit next to the window and the server (a younger Caucasian girl) yelled at the lady saying she needs to sit at a smaller table because she needs to save those seats if a big party comes in. Mind you, the restaurant was empty! I'm beyond myself. I was getting ready to walk out but my little boy was starving and adamant that he wanted his pizza.
