Ready for my grandmother in law's smog check, we were so sad when we saw that Al's was no longer open since she had been going to him for around 30 years. Don has been our mechanic for two years has worked on 4 of our cars we had a good casual relationship as far as mechanic customer was concerned. Our lexus battery kept draining he looked at it he recommended to replace the alternator it was done at same visit he made me aware of my oxygen sensor in bank 2 sensor 1 was bad, he showed me I said I can do that job. One or two weeks later I decided to do it because car started to smoke then I remembered the advise given to me by Dong. Got the sensor tried to replace on my own no luck I had partially taken the car apart no problem put parts in a box had the car towed to the shop. Two days and a weekend passes didn't hear from the shop so I called he answered rudely and he said some words that weren't appropriate it struck me as odd behavior so I said to him I'm going over the shop and hung up up. So I showed up and he had just started to work on it after the call, he was complaining about my car???? Wtf he talked down to me clearly he was angry because he had missed diagnosed the problem it was the mass sensor not the oxygen so now he looked stupid. After 460.00 that includes the mass sensor I blew up he doesn't know how to take ownership of his mistakes. Never again will recommend nor give him my business. My car was returned with other issues that weren't related coincidence maybe who knows. read more

I'm taking the time to appreciate the QUALITY OF WORK this shop has done! I took my Nissan 350z in because it started to misfire and shut off at idle. But it was so weird it only did that when I filled it up with gas. Spoke to Quan, I explained the situation to him. He checked out my car and he was HONEST with me. We had a 2007 Toyota Avalon Limited and we had to put the battery in from being charged across the street to drive it back to the shop from our hotel after he said he could do repair for us even though his hands were full; it also meant he would have to stay after hours fixing up cars after he had finished with ours. Heard about Quan from a friend who is in the auto repair industry also, so he knows who to go to. Had an ongoing leak in my Acura and another 2 mechanics diagnosed it as 1 leak from a certain area. Quan opened the hood and also raised it up in the air and immediately saw several issues. There were actually 3 different leaks. He also noticed some inferior non-OEM parts and screws my prior mechanic used and he looked genuinely disgusted that they had used those parts, because he said if you know Honda's and Acura's, certain parts and bolts have to be OEM and certain material (not plastic or certain metals) or else they're just going to eventually fail. So even though I ended up spending more than double what the other guys wanted for 1 issue, Quan fixed about 5 different issues that the other guys completely missed. He even adjusted my valves to factory specs and my 8 year old car drives like it's new again with lots of power I had been missing. He shows you everything and you can just tell he's an honest genuine guy. Prices were reasonable for all he did too. I want to recommend him to everyone I know but he's also very busy so I also want to be selfish since I have 4 cars for him to service. Don't bother him with small oil change stuff but if you have a serious problem and need a real diagnosis, Quan is a car doctor you can trust. read more

Quan is an honest, knowledgeable and reliable mechanic you can trust. He is straightforward and will not upsell you something you do not need. My old Infiniti had check engine light on and Quan was able to fix it after other places had no idea what to do. He saved me money by cleaning 2 clogged components under the hood and putting them back instead of leaving me with the only option to replace them, which would be very expensive. The check engine light never came back afterwards. Recently, Quan replaced my alternator. I also asked him to check my a/c since it wasn't cold. He hooked it up to his machine and fixed it for no extra charge while offering me some refreshments. The car runs fine and a/c blows cold air now. Quan works by himself in his shop and I like that. You can always see what is being done on your car and talk to the very person who works on it. This is how it has been for years when I brought my both Infiniti and Maxima here and Peter used to be the only person at the shop.
