I took my computer in becasue I had left it a hot area. The screen was not functioning well and my computer would get real hot. Pc Specialist had my compter for eight days and I paid $250.00 for it to be fixed., When I brought it home I had the same problem with screen and the heating of the computer. Instead of placing a brand new LCD (screen) he had placed a used one on my computer without telling me. I called and explained the situation and I took it in again. He told me he will have to keep it for another few days which was not acceptable to me. When I told him that I will need it right away, he raised his voice and told me to shut up and that he will keep my computer for another two weeks. I told him that I will call the cops and that he will have to return my computer. He was real rude and kept telling me to shut up and that he is going to throw me out of his store. I finally got my computer from him and left his store. I am notifiying my credit card company to place a stop on the $250.00 charges. Please please do not take you computer there he is a nighmare. I drop off my laptop to get fixed, a week later I pick it up and not even 24 hours after the repair the same issue comes up. I have to go back and he says he's getting the same exact part because he doesn't know why the same problem happened again. Excellent. Two weeks and no laptop. I called and he keeps hanging up on me and telling me 'i have customers I have no time for this'. I guess if a customer isn't in front of you he/she does not count as a customer (or in my case, a paid customer) I called last Thursday and he said it would be done Saturday. Saturday comes, no call. I called him this morning and he yelled and hung up on me saying he has customers and his schedual does not revolve around me. No customer service. No respect. We had a terrible experience here. My fiancee and I dropped off her laptop for a diagnosis and possible repair of a fan. When we heard nothing the first day, we called. Nothing had been done. We were misled several times on telephone calls. The "story" changed every time we called. Exasperated, we called, said we were unhappy, and advised that we wished to pick up the laptop. We went to the business to pick up the computer, and we were met with hostility by the owner, George Huang, who told us we were wrong to be unhappy. He was threatening and rude. All we wanted was to quietly sign for and take her laptop elsewhere. Mr. Huang even said he had been there 37 years and wanted to know how long we had lived in the area. He raised his voice and followed us out of the store, yelling at us. This was one of the saddest, yet scariest, encounters we have had in a long, long time. read more

Dealing with the Owner of PC Specialists Method of selling: bait and switch on price of parts vs labor after agreement is done; Unscrupulous business practice. If you don't know the IT parts prices I would not recommend the shop. He will make you feel as if you are getting a deal to stay in the shop by quoting parts at ridiculous high price and pretend his service fee is low. In the invoice he bundles the labor and parts together so you won't have a recourse. I tried to reason - so we both walk away feeling ok and it did not work. What I was buying: - a 160 Memory Free Agent Go (5400 RPM) media memory $150.00- he repeated several times that this is his cost, and I did need one - I could use the remaining storage for additional data transfer -and I figured the cost would not fluctuate more than 25%. And an additional $25 (plus the original 45 ) =total 70.00 for less than 20 min data transfer ( mostly I was interested in the pictures- turned out I did not get those -in the invoice he called this "selective transfer".) What I got: I paid a total of $ 235 - I got "selective" data transfer (No Pictures,) a 160 memory free agent ( 5400 RPM) - I could have purchased one for twice the memory for 60.00. In the end I paid 176.00 for his "selective" data transfer (no pictures) or Robert's effort of less than 20 min and a memory 1/2 the size I could have got. When I got home and noticed that the free agent of this size can be purchased for less than $50.00 I emailed Robert - thinking he made an honest mistake. He than CHANGED the service prices - IN THE EMAIL he used the term "GIVE AND TAKE" and the fact that technology prices - change from day to day. See below email as he is explaining - the give and take. Please remember, I did not need a rush service - this was not my main laptop and after I paid the $ 45 dollar for so called 'diagnostic fee" and was walking away, until he sold me on a quick solution and a "good deal." I paid for the second purchase separately. On the web side they say they will provide `reliable service with a personal touch" in my case that was how he bundles the service and labor in the invoice together so he can change pricing at will. Even now I don't know exactly the split of the second bill of 191.62 is made of? -he charged a 16.63 sales tax - and a one line of $175.00 (free agent + "selective transfer" ) Does he charge sales tax on labor?? Terrible experience. No matter what the case is he will allways make it look as he is right and forget the basic starting point. My service charge for your service is minimum for $95, even $120 for rush service done at spot in front your presence. I would not charge you only $25 for the service you received at spot. After all, it is a matter of give and take, I should have had charged the data recovery for $95 and $80 for the media that it comes out the same cost to you. What importance is how you agreed upon a deal you made. That is about all I can explain to you. Electronic items fluctuate in prices by daily, weekly and monthly.
