But every morning I make eggs for my Standard Poodle, and apparently I've been sending the shells down the garbage disposal for years. As it turns out: egg shells + grease + time = a very expensive science experiment. Eric and Luis from USA Drain and Plumbing Works came to the rescue. They explained that our drains needed a full cleaning after years of buildup from oil and my "oops" egg shell habit. They were professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and never once made me feel silly for not knowing that egg shells don't belong in the disposal. What impressed me most was their respect for our home. They wore paper shoe covers while walking on our carpet--a small touch that speaks volumes. Excellent service, great communication, and now both my drains and I are much wiser. Order Request: Excellent and professional response. Communication about dates and time work was to be done: Excellent Technician, Genaro, showed up on time and gave us choices on irrigation repair. His advice and work were great, no mess and knocked it out. Not a super hard job but excellent work and one that needed to be done. As SWP did not know my past with their company or connect my personal address they required a CC# on file as to them I was a new customer and they did not want to get stood up, I appreciate that and gave Card# and did not mention my past as that is confusing sometimes. Billing 1) Paid technician via their system at conclusion of job on my CC which he was on site for the job and was given an invoice receipt with explained correct hours, parts, and amounts. Nothing spectacular here just what they do every day. Our bank account was charged immediately this was about a month ago. Billing 2) A problem, 10 days after work was done and paid for I got an email receipt for another billing. Okay just a mistake I hoped but what I saw was disturbing. I got a different amount invoiced for the same job, yes more hours. Not sure how this could happen as I had the work order in my hand with technicians labor and parts detail on it. Someone took it upon themselves to add hours to the job. and I find that a bit sketchy. I called that same day as the second billing was debited out of my bank account. I gave the info of both billings to the person on the phone could only take the information as the accounting person was unavailable. Next day I got an email from accounting person saying they'd credit invoice #2 and I should see it is 2-3 business days. Okay not a problem but no explanation or apology to taking my money without authorization. Now 12 days later still no credit so I emailed and called again two days prior to holiday asking for accounting person but she was unavailable so the very nice person on phone took my info again. Now no communication and still no credit to my account, no apology or explanation. I am just confused how this could happen in this day and age where positive reviews make a brand. Yes, it is not a large amount of money about $500 but it is my money and now my time. So now almost a month later, I have wasted a lot of my time trying to fix someone else's problem. If I owed them money I am sure they'd be calling me everyday threatening to lien my home. Now I will have to spend more time alerting my bank to dispute their invoice #2 debit amount from my account. SWP is a large company and one person is responsible for giving their company a bad reputation, review, and very doubtful I will ever assign them to another job personally or professionally. This is an earned negative review as I went out of my way to resolve several times.

My experience with Valley Plumbing was shocking--and not in a good way…read more Early Thursday as I was leaving for work, I noticed water pooling around my water meter. It appeared I had an underground leak, so I immediately called Valley Plumbing. I've lived in the valley a long time and have seen their trucks everywhere, so they were my first call. The earliest dispatch they had was for that afternoon. While waiting, I decided to prep the area to speed things up. I shut off the main line, tracked down the leak, and excavated the pipe myself. It turned out to be a simple cracked PVC elbow on the 1 1/4" main line. When the technician arrived around 1:30 PM, I showed him the exposed pipe, and he agreed with my diagnosis. He told me he'd generate a quote. Having done plenty of sprinkler repairs over the years, I knew it was a straightforward fix, though I was hesitant to mess with the main line myself. When he came back with a quote for $1,114.00, I was floored. But with the water turned off all day and the late hour making it impossible to get another plumber out, I felt backed into a corner. I didn't want my family without water overnight, so I told him to go ahead. The actual repair took less than 20 minutes. He used one PVC elbow, one coupler, and about 6 inches of pipe--literally about $20 in parts. The rest of the time was spent sitting around waiting 45 minutes for the cement to set before turning the water back on. He arrived at 1:30 PM and was completely wrapped up, paid, and gone by 3:45 PM. I reached out to Valley Plumbing afterward, assuming there must have been a mistake or misunderstanding. I fully expected to pay a few hundred dollars for an emergency service call, but $1,100+ felt predatory. When a manager called back, he explained that $1,114 is just their standard "book rate" for touching a 1 1/4" line. When I asked how $20 in parts and 20 minutes of basic labor justified that cost, he essentially said that's just what they charge, mentioned their techs are professionally trained, and actually thanked me for digging the hole, noting it would have cost even more if they had to excavate. The repair was completed successfully, but charging over $1,100 for 20 minutes of basic PVC work on a pre-excavated hole is completely unreasonable. I will never use this company again.

Our technician, Mark, arrived on time and was very friendly, polite, and professional. He was so patient as I poorly explained the sequence of events, and never did I feel rushed through his entire visit. My husband is out of town, and Mark was so great to relay everything he said to me and repeat it to my husband over the phone (over 2 separate calls), so we could both have a thorough understanding. Never did I feel like we were being price gouged; in fact, he did his best to work within our budgetary means and managed to fix the current problem! He's very knowledgeable and was able to explain how things work in a manner that an inexperienced, non-plumber can understand. He went above and beyond showing me a few other helpful ways to maintain our plumbing and fixtures, so we don't need to summon a plumber on a regular basis. I even learned about the hard water that we have across the valley, and how pressure works from the main line to the house. I feel as if I went to a mini-seminar about house plumbing...lol...I actually learned quite a lot! And a side note for women who are home alone, because I know this can be a concern for some when it comes to bringing a male technician into your home...Mark was an absolute doll. Very friendly, sweet, and non-threatening. Very kind, never talked down to me even though I was oblivious when it comes to plumbing, and I felt perfectly safe with him in my home. We waited to locate a plumber until the next morning, after calling at least a half dozen answering machines, Jeff from AppleJPlumbing called and was here within 1/2 hour, Jeff arrived with a helper and detected the problem immediately.
