Went here with a few friends during final's week and nothing seemed more comforting than a few slices of freshly baked pizza. The basil and tomato slices were basic, but hit the spot perfectly. There was also ample free parking. The service didn't stand out to me, but it wasn't bad. The pizza business is also attached to a bakery that's located in the back. The combination of basil, tomatoes and mozzarella is so simple. I don't even need meat! So I always know that if a pizza joint can get that right, then they are pizza maker winners in my book! Takes about 15 mins for a large fresh delicious pie if you don't call in advance. And if you order pizza by the slice, they will run it through a large toaster oven, so your pizza is hot and ready to be eaten. And then to make things even better, they have BOMB salads. So, my latest take on Peace A Pizza is this: They're a great slice shop but their whole pizzas for takeout can be a bit scattershot. For a whole pie, however, the clear take-away winner is their white pizza. Quite simply, I think they have the best white sauce in the area, hands down. A lot of other white pizza options are overly oily, or garlicky to the point of obscenity. Here, you get a nicely creamy creme-fraiche based sauce with subtle garlic that doesn't clobber the taste of other toppings. The best pie I've had from PaP has been with white sauce, roasted red peppers, fresh spinach, and sliced Italian sausage. Fan-friggin'-tastic. Ask for extra bake time for a well-done pie, and you won't have to fret about a doughy crust. I've found their standard bake is geared toward reheating slices, and therefore slightly underdone. Request a little extra oven time, and you'll be rewarded. Same goes for tomato-based pies, especially if they've got a bunch of veggie toppings. read more

Man I love this place it is right off of Mellor Ave pretty easy to see with the colored sign. The inside is really nice and chill, the staff are awesome. My favorite pizza close by! The dough is made in house and you can totally tell. Everything else also tastes very fresh. There's always a nice selection of slice pizzas, and lots of unique flavors. I highly recommend the buffalo chicken, mac'n'cheese, and green goat pizzas. They also make a pretty incredible Sicilian-style pizza; it's a deep, soft, chewy crust loaded with sauce and fresh mozzarella (plus any toppings you want)! Keep in mind you can only order this by the pie, though. The salads are also delicious and super fresh. The nutty goat is my favorite. You can also make your own salad. A groovy two combo is when you get a small salad with a slice if pizza, and it's a good deal for the amount of food you get. The shop is large and cheerful and bright. There are a variety of pizzas available by the slice, or you can order a whole pie. Take-out and eat-in are both available. They also have a build-your-own-salad bar. It's a popular place for families in the area. But there are constantly little children - toddlers and infants - walking around behind the food line or being carried around by employees who are preparing or serving or handling food. Sometimes the kids are near the oven. At lunch recently, one of the toddlers was digging around in her nose - right next to the oven where my slices were being heated up. I'm definitely not going to come back without careful consideration - which is a shame, because I was excited to have finally found almost a New York-style pizza place in town. Happy Monday folks in back with another review for your guys. This time I checked it out Peace A Pizza in Catonsville, MD. First, I definitely dig all the tie dye and bright colors they have in the restaurant. At the same time with decor like this parents consider this place kid friendly, which it is, but with kids comes a lot of noise and commotion. I kind of felt like I was in a Chuck-E-Cheese minus the rides and games lol. As for the pizza I think it's hit or miss. The margarita slice I got was excellent and super fresh, but the chicken parmesan one was dry and flavorless. However the prices are decent. I got these two large slices for around $8. I don't think I would go out of my way again to go back, but if I'm in the area I would definitely get another slice, but next time I will just stick to the classics. read more

All I can say is Fresh Mozzarella pizza!!!! That's all you need to know and I'm a meat lover pizza kind of animal. Try it you'll love the perfectly sweet (not overly sweet) sauce on a thin crispy bubbly crust topped by many many dollops of fresh mozzarella followed by thin slices of tender plum tomatoes all covered with a drizzle of olive oil and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. Finally when it's out of the oven it's topped with fresh basil leaves. Freshly painted spot with a hippy theme and a great place for kids. They even have toys, chalk boards, etc.. The staff is great. I've been here twice in the past few years and the first time wasn't the best experience. It was a good one, but it didn't warrant another review until a friend took me there 2 weeks ago. Either the place stepped up their overall quality or I came on a bad day because when I had that 1 slice of pizza with the BBQ sauce on it, it took me almost 10 minutes to eat it. Yes, 10 minutes for 1 slice. Okay, more like 5 minutes, but still a much longer time than usual. It takes 1-2 minutes to eat a slice for me, but this slice was so good that I was actually savoring each and every bite. I have a friend that lives like 2 blocks away and told me he didn't like my review of this place. He insisted I come and try again, which I did and the outcome was marvelous. In fact, it was so delicious that I felt regret and guilt not buying a whole pizza... We wanted to buy some good pizza for a friend that ended up at St. Agnes hospital due to an accident. We got a few slices including my own; 1 slice of BBQ pizza. We got in the car and started driving to the hospital. On the way there, I opened the box that contained my slice and the smell busted all over my face, no pun intended. I picked it up and there was clearly grease, oil and heavy, gloppy, gooey cheese slowly sliding down the slice of pizza but the pizza was holding it all together really well, surprisingly. I took my first bite, closed my eyes and let out a weak sigh, implying to my friend just how tasty the pizza was. I then took a second bite, slowly chewing the perfect combination of textures; soft, yet chewy dough, the juicy and tender meats and the gooey and tasty cheese. That slice was definitely one of the best I've ever had. Don't get me wrong, I'm not an expert or connoisseur in pizza, in fact I was never a huge fan of pizza (this is due to Papa Johns, Dominoes and Pizza Hut's mediocrity) until recently. This is an absolute favorite of me and friends for a casual lunch or even Friday night dinner! Peace a Pizza is unsuspecting since on most evenings it's packed with families and little ones, but afternoons are usually emptier and great for a lunch break. The pizza itself has a wonderful crunch to the bottom of each slice and I cannot get enough of the Sante Fe chicken salad. We just ran into Peace a Pizza since Taneytown Deli and Duesenberg's were closed on the Sunday after Xmas this year and decided to check out Peace a Pizza. We were happy we did. Peace a Pizza is a neighborhood pizza joint with pizza by the slice, salads, and also whole pies. I'd been to a Peace a Pizza outside Philly in college, and this is similar. We had a slice of carnivore pizza, mediterranean salad, and bbq chicken. There wasn't a lot of vegetarian pizza out, which was sad, because i really like vegetarian pizza, and they have a good selection of pizza on their menu (like goat cheese and pesto). The staff offered to put other toppings on the pizza that was already made, but I declined. The dining area is pretty big and the Ravens game was on two flat screen TVs. There were a decent mix of people enjoying pizza, including families with young kids, college-aged students, and an elderly couple. Good place to stop for a casual lunch/dinner. read more

I think Joe Squared and this place are tied for best pizza around. What i love is they will put a handful of fresh greens on your slice before they run it through the oven. This is the best pizza shop around! I go here 3 times a week usually. The salads are delicious and unique. So many good ones to choose from. The pizza is sooo tasty too! The classic fresh mozzarella pizza is my go-to choice but the Mac and cheese pizza is great too. "Taste" is everything, and "environment" is second. Somehow, Peace A Pizza in Catonsville is trying really hard to beef up the cute and trendy environment, but it is lacking when it comes to the taste of the food --the most important thing in food, right?!? This stomach has only ever really tasted the pizza (it's namesake), and from each of the multiple visits (mostly trying different flavored pizza slices), I've never really been especially impressed with their product. Like I said, I've never ordered anything other than the pizza, so I can't comment on other menu items. The pizza crust is clearly hand-tossed, which is good, but not great. The toppings and creations are high quality, and unique, but again only good, not awesome. The selection of toppings and pre-made pizzas is superb, however. If you can't find a pie that entices you to order it here, you are not a true pizza lover! --That's Fo-Sho! The sauce they use on most of their creations appears to be the same, and it's what you would expect. ...nothing special in the sauce department here. This stomach wanted more! NOTE: they do use mayo on the philly cheesesteak pizza in place of traditional tomatoe sauce, and that seems to "work" well for that odd sounding creation, but mostly, the pizza inventions they've created all involve traditional tomatoe sauce. If you want an average slice of pizza, this restaurant will suit you fine. If you are looking for the best pizza around town, go elsewhere. YourStomachSays: Don't make a special trip, but if you're in the neighborhood, it might make you smile to dine-in and experience their "peaceful" setting. When I finally made it home and sat down to eat my salad there was a bug stuck to a piece of lettuce! I couldn't eat it. I think the salads here might be better than the pizza. For around $8.50 you can order a pretty big salad with plenty of fresh ingredients. Their pizza is full of toppings which was nice, my only compliant is that the crust was a little 'doughy' - pizza is tough to rate as everyone has their own taste, I prefer the New Haven char crust (crispy). The prices of the pizza are a bit much, however it's nice to let everyone choose their own slices from the many varieties already cooked. Name aside, my friend and I had a great dining, carb-loaded experience at your restaurant on Thursday night. We started with your Mediterranean salad, which was crisp, fresh and delicious down to the last bite. Now, the accompanying breadstick was just a beautiful, beautiful foreshadowing of what I was about to experience with your Brooklyn Bridge pizza. Now, a good, fluffy crust is a must and you nailed it. Thank you from the bottom of my love handles for making my tastebuds scream for joy with your chewy yet sweet crust. I also loved how generous you are with your toppings, too. I prefer when food is piping hot and your pizza was "piping not" when it arrived to our table. Let's jump right into it: THEIR WHITE PIZZA IS AMAZING! I don't normally eat white pizza however the first time I walked into this establishment they made it hard for me to refuse. Needless to say I do not regret the decision! The pizza is freshly made (with the exception of the major staples like cheese, pepperoni, etc) as are the salads. The atmosphere is very psychedelic but just the right amount. They're a main staple in the Catonsville community and from time to time they host events in the building, just be sure to check their calendar! Maybe one day I'll actually try their other flavors.
