Inside this small pizzeria, under the faded banners of Naples and the fluorescent sky of drop-ceiling panels, there is a fire that transforms dough into something transcendent. The 14-inch New York style pie, though humble in appearance, carried the taste of flame--char at the edges, molten cheese stretching like strands of fate itself. It is food born of combustion, where destruction and creation meet in a single crust. To accompany it, the fizz of fountain Pepsi, a sugary abyss that reminds us of how fleeting sweetness always is. Hours later, a paper slip marks another ritual: french fries, five dollars, golden and crisp like relics of a lost civilization. Their shells shattered with the sound of brittle leaves, yielding to a soft, cloudlike core, a contradiction that somehow felt inevitable. Service here is brisk, kind, almost invisible--human hands guiding plates and receipts without ceremony, as if to remind us that in the end, sustenance is a quiet transaction between hunger and its brief relief. On the walls, evidence of solidarity: framed certificates, banners for local teams, support for first responders. In this act of giving back, the restaurant affirms that even within the universe's cold indifference, there are pockets of warmth where community clings together, like sparks refusing to die in the wind. It is a good thing to find such steadfast generosity and flavor in one place.

Not my fave. The stomach was growling and the human that I'm harboring led me here. I probably should have just waited. I picked the pizza that was all veggies, the folk kept trying to up sell me, which I didn't dig. Nothing was spectacular about the pizza, not too much flavor, probably had been sitting out for too long, won't be back.

I have been searching for sometime for Sicilian pizza in the DC area and have really not found much. Lots of New York style pizza. Lots of wood fire pizza. But really, not Sicilian like the kind you would get in Philadelphia or the boroughs in New York today. I was in Columbia to run some errands and several Internet reviews recommended this place for Sicilian pizza. So I have to try it first of all the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I ordered a plain cheese, Sicilian pizza. The crust was not soggy at all, and was crunchy and the tomato sauce was very good while it was the Sicilian pizza crust was not quite as thick as what you would get farther up north, but this is a Pizza I would definitely recommend if you are in the area, it was the only thing I tried, but several people were eating different items when I picked up my pizza and they all looked very good

This is one of my favorite pizza places. Everyone was so nice and the pizza is some of the best south of Jersey. I moved about an hour away but I still make the drive when I'm craving really good pizza. Almost forgot to take a picture!! We got extra cheese with pepperoni on half (I stole 1 pepperoni)

Sorry for the bite but yes.... it's that good!!!! Mushrooms

I was stopping by CVS and saw several people coming out with boxes of pizza!!!! I asked one gentleman are they good? He said they get this about twice a week. And YES!!! Very good!!!! They do not do deliveries, carry out only. Hence, all the people with pizza boxes I went in and they are SO friendly!!!! I ordered a large pizza with extra cheese and mushrooms on half. My daughter and I love it!!!!!! It's VERY delicious!!!!!!! And just like that..... we have a favorite pizza place!!!!

My favorite pizza place in Columbia. Classic New York style. Love it!! Would highly recommend if you're looking for a small business to support locally. The two brothers own trattoria E and trattoria amore

One bite. Everyone knows the rules. 6.3!
    Dave W.

"One bite, everyone knows the rules..." 6.3 is my score for a nice, hot, crunchy, tasty slice of pizza with no New York flop! I think it could have used some more cheese and sauce but I enjoyed it and look forward to returning!

Eataliano is located in Columbia near the Phelps Luck Pool. The lot outside the restaurant offers very limited parking, but there is street parking available. Upon entering, we were met with shelves of authentic Italian grocery items. A pleasant lady took our order. She was patient and assisted with selections and answered questions as well. We ordered the crab roll, cheesteak on a seeded roll, and an order of onion rings. The ambiance was of a small, local market with a comfortable, neighborhood feel. There was seating inside, but it was full. Our wait time was 30-40 minutes. As it started to get crowded, we decided to wait outside until our order was ready. While outside, we met Sam, the owner, who was very pleasant, asking where we were from and was it our first time coming. He stated that folks were coming from all around the areas to visit and thanked us for our business and threw in a NY style pizza for us to try! Our wait was a little longer than 40 minutes. We got our order and headed home. NY style pizza: Thin, well baked crust topped with thinly sliced pepperoni and Italian sausage on a layer of tomato sauce topped with dollops of fresh mozzarella and basil. The ingredients were fresh and the pizza had a sweet taste. This was good. Cheesesteak: On a seeded roll with tomatoes, and shaved meat with chopped onions and Cooper sharp cheese. This was really good. The meat was flavorful with the onions and the melty cheese providing the perfect balance. The roll was crusty on the outside and held up to the generous portion of meat on it. This was really good. Crab Roll: What we really came for. Creamy crabmeat filling with cheese and peppers wrapped in a crusty dough topped with Parmesan cheese. The cheese pull was exceptional and the taste: chef's kiss! The crab filling was sweet, delicate, and flavorful with the perfectly cooked dough holding it together. This was really good. Onion rings: onions slices fried a little hard for me. just okay. All in all, except for the onion rings, everything was great. We would definitely be adding Eataliano to our rotation of pizza parlors and of course, for the crabmeat roll as well!

We made a last-minute decision to try for some of the nightly jazz (except Monday) at 18th & 21st on a Friday evening (Oct 2025), hip-ly named for the prohibition amendment and repeal :-) There's a free parking garage right across from the entrance of the building they share with a sister restaurant, Cured. We arrived in the bright seasonally-decorated welcoming lobby about 7:50pm. We ought to have made reservations, but in under 10min, the reception staff took us to the more intimate room towards the back where we were seated at at the bar, which is really what we wanted. When we arrived, the 6pm jazz band had just gone on break, so we felt free to chat with friendly regulars and with the bar staff. They have a changing list of ten craft beers from $6 to $21, plus one $6 non-alcoholic brew. Five of the $14-$35 per-glass vintage wines from their list of 17 are preserved with the "corovin" system that keeps air out, so they are never "corked". We focussed on their list of 11 crafted $13-$22 cocktails plus 5 non-alcoholic ones, all made with quality ingredients, each naming the staff member(s) (and guests) who formulated the recipe! We found Alex's $16 Fernetinez sublimely sweet: of bitter fernet amaro, Frederick-based locally-sourced award-winning McClintock One Last Time gin (exclusive for 18th&21st), smooth Luxardo liqueur, and a sweet vermouth. We loved the aroma and flavor of the classic Smoked Old Fashioned of bourbon from Kentucky's 10th-oldest distillery, Green River, moved to a mild well-rounded sweetness by brown sugar simple syrup, smoked in front of me by Mike (if i remember), with added richness from smoky bitters. They have a creative menu of $30 to $65 entrees, plus salads, small plates, apps, and sides, and they have a changing menu of small plates. We really hadn't planned on eating, but we couldn't resist. The $17 duck bao buns had thin tender filets with a sweet lightly-salty apricot-soy glaze and a tangy crunchy pickled cucumber slaw on a soft folded yeasted slightly-sweet white-flour bun. The $12 pair of fried fresh-tasting oysters were sweet and juicy with a light-flavored crunchy crust. They were so yummy, and easy to enjoy with our cocktails. Rodney Kelly's jazz band was excellent, playing with spirit, joking with each other and the audience, even staging a song or two with a skilled member of the restaurant staff. Afterwards we had brief moments with some of the band members, like an intimate jazz club. Later in the evening, i also had a Turkish Sunset, a Manhattan-variation created in a collaboration among the staff and a guest (Well-done Ozzie!). I love Elijah Craig, and wanted to try their dry toasted rye, with housemade allspice dram syrup, Small Hands grenadine, and bitters. By now, i felt very much at home with the staff, and when i learned that one of them had helped formulate this beverage, i confided that its amazing complexity was, for me, just a touch too dry. Alex (if i remember) considered the ingredients and the target flavors, and added just a touch of a sweet lemony liqueur, perfectly complimenting the recipe's flavors! Real-time crafting goes above and beyond, Thank you! (And when they next update the menu, maybe they'll have a custom option named for me :-)

It's a pretty big place with a bar and booths on the left, and another area of booths on the right. We were greeted and seated quickly by the hosts, and as we asked, we landed near the performer in the area to the right. The place was busy around 6pm, and friendly server quickly got menus for us, and within a few minutes, we had our drinks: a lovely $13 Maple Walnut Old Fashioned, fiery intense Makers Mark sweetened a little by maple syrup and focussed with walnut bitters. And a bright $13 Pom Pom Fizz, earthy gin with pomegranate juice, prosecco, and i think some lime juice. Both were well crafted , balanced, and refreshing. They started us with a sliced long narrow loaf of hot filone bread, with one of our Italian favorites, warm pinzimonio dipping oil: fresh aromatic olive oil with a pinch of mixed rich parmesan crumbles, zingy red-pepper flakes, and savory green herbs. It is tempting to make our whole meal of this! We had the $19 salmon & spinach in oil & garlic, from Tino's "lighter fare" menu. This was a huge filet, tender inside with a lovely deep crosshatch char on the surface. Quite perfect! And we asked for a customized $14 sandwich: Tino's offers a steak & cheese on chewy crusty hoagie roll, and we asked for added sautéed green peppers, with the generous cheese, sliced red onion and tomato, and lettuce on the side. The generous thin-sliced beef was tender and sweet cooked just right. The tasty lightly-seasoned fries were piping hot, and soft inside. We were perfectly satisfied with our light meal, and we managed to take a good amount home for later. The skilled musician, Bruce Casteel, played 5 to 7pm, a warm selection of familiar acoustic jazz, easy and fun to listen to. We'll return both for this musician and for the wide menu of flavorful food. You drive into the strip mall on Centre Park Dr just north of Old Annapolis Rd (MD-108), then turn left like you are going to the convenience store and keep driving around to the ample parking lot for Tino's. You can also easily get here off MD-100 at Executive Park Dr, winding via the non-highwqy Columbia 100 Parkway to Centre Park Dr.

The biggest issue across the board was the food--everything tasted bland. There was a noticeable lack of seasoning, and most dishes ended up tasting the same. I started with a Caesar salad, which was unusual with added tomatoes and other vegetables you don't typically see. While it was fine, it lacked flavor. For the main course, all four of us ordered pasta, and again, the same issue--very little taste. No one offered fresh Parmesan, which is something you'd normally expect with a pasta dish. Halfway through my meal, trying to improve the flavor, I asked for some Parmesan. I was genuinely surprised when the server told me it would cost an extra $1. It wasn't about the dollar--it was the principle. Charging extra for something as basic as Parmesan with pasta felt unreasonable. When we raised the concern, the manager confirmed this policy came directly from the owner. My advice: just include it in the price of the dish. Policies like that leave a bad impression and cost you repeat customers. Between the bland food and that moment, the experience turned from disappointing to frustrating. Sadly, this isn't a place we'll be returning to--and it's one we'll be warning others about.

My family and I were looking for a new Italian restaurant today. Somewhere near home, so we came to…read morethis location for dinner. Loved the decor and ambience ... from the fireplace, to the pizza oven in the middle of the restaurant, to the bar area with the televisions. Parking was also easy even on a Saturday. My daughter and I split a Romana salad; it's kind of like a Caesar salad. Good but had to ask for more dressing. I ordered the spaghetti Amatriciana, daughter got the chicken Limone, husband got Ravioli D'Aragosta. My spaghetti wasn't spicy at all (as was assumed since it had spicy Calabrian chilis), the burrata ball was huge and at first I didn't get it because it was cold while the rest of the dish was warm. Well when you mix it in the dish it was very good. I added some salt but after that it all came together. The other two dishes were also enjoyed at the table. Portions were generous, we had leftovers and the service was pretty good too. Would definitely come back!
