    " Fried shrimp sub "

Food is good but holy moly the service! Paid for order, saw the pizza sitting and ready, tried to point this out repeatedly for 15-20 minutes but they kept pushing us back to the line. I wouldn't necessarily write a review but it's just consistently bad service. Another time I order a fried shrimp sub and got meat with steamed shrimp on top....

Half cheese/pepperoni pizza - looks better than it tasted!

Employees were polite but the pizza and fries were not good. The pizza dough lacked any degree of crispyness and the sauce tasted like it came straight out of can. We had half cheese and half pepperoni and we were all hungry. My daughter went back inside and tried to season it with their spices but it did little to help. I couldn't eat it but my daughters ate a slice each. My granddaughter didn't like it either. I ordered her some french fries as well but she only ate a few bc they weren't crispy and lacked any salt. Oh well...we tried.

Delicious cheesesteak and fast service. The pizza was delicious as well. Friendly service and it was very clean despite being super busy. Plenty of parking out front and easily accessible

My goodness! This is some good a$$ pizza! No lie! The 3 star rating is undeserving!haven't been to Sorrento's since I was in middle school. I stopped in a week ago on a Saturday just for a single slice of pepperoni pizza and I can say with pride, it's exactly how I remembered. Cheesy, buttery crust, hot! Perfect! I wish I would have gotten 2. I dined in, the phone never stopped ringing. The wait time was 15-20 mins, noted!! The next day, Sunday, I wanted Sorrento's again. This time I just wanted to order take out and come home to enjoy it. I tried ordering by calling the number on Google and Yelp several times. Back to back for at least 30 mins. I received a voicemail recording every single time. Finally, I just went to the place. It was around 8pm on a Sunday. I wanted a half cheesesteak sub and 1 slice of pepperoni pizza. Sadly the lady informed me they stop selling pizza by the slice at nice! HUGE BUMMER. The wait time for my cheesesteak was 15 mins, it took about 30. I should have eaten it in there because by the time I got home (just 10 mins of a drive) the sub was so soggy. Next time I'll get the sub plain with the fixings on the side! Sunday - Thursday you can get a whole cheesesteak, regular cold cut or meatball sub for $9.99. Totally worth it because a half side is about $8.

Came back from a trip up north on a long train ride and wanted something to eat! I've driven past this place a lot and finally decided to stop in. There were no paper menus that I saw, but there is a large lit up menu behind the plastic barrier counter. I opted to only get a single slice of pepperoni pizza ($2.50). This slice was HUGE!!! I was looking for a sub combo (sub/fries/soda) but they only had this available for a Chicken Cheese Steak (and not Italian sub like I wanted). Of course- there is no dine in availablity in MD at this point but good spacing inside for people to wait for food and be socially distant. The young woman cashier was SUPER nice and patient with my questions and long stares at the menu lol. I will likely order from here for delivery!

Was there last nite & got a half cheese fish sub everything wit fries. The only thing I tasted was the condiments, lettuce, mushy tomato & onion. The fries had to have sat in there for a while. They were hard as a rock & u can see the grease in the. I'm done, never again.

This is a familiar place that updates the look and menu now and then, yet still feels like home. We often get a beet salad when it's available. Matthew's is scrumptious, with tender sweet juicy roasted beets, tasty grilled chicken, red onion slices and fresh spinach, tangy crumbled bleu cheese, and delightful candied walnuts, complimented by tart raspberry vinaigrette. By the way, it's gluten-free. We loved the rich cream of crab soup du jour, full of crab lumps and full of flavor, with a little spice from good old Old Bay. Delicious and dreamy. Their quesadillas were served a la carte as an appetizer, loaded with savory roasted chicken, heavy with a mild cheese and a lightly spicy flavorful thick red sauce, rolled in tender lightly seared flour tortillas. Generous and satisfying. Matthew's building dates from around 1862 as a station and hotel at the end of a horse-car line, before electricity! It's been through around 5 names over the years, and has been the Parsons family's Matthew's 1600 since 2004. We've felt comfortable and welcomed here for decades. It has plenty of free parking in their own lot. By the way, many of their already reasonable prices are discounted a little if you pay cash. That's a endearing way of keeping it real in Catonsville, only charging when it costs them.

I for sure thought because of the business, the food had to be good! And it was!! I got the egg roll sampler and loved it. The pasta was recommended and I was not disappointed. The salmon Victoria was supposed to come with a chèvre cheese on it but it was forgotten. We were able to flag down our waiter and inform him of the error and he went to the kitchen to get some on the side. It wasn't on it as it was intended but it was still good. I would come back--especially for the eggroll sampler.

Over the last few years their side salad went from having bacon and eggs to just lettuce , a couple carrots shavings, two sliced tomatoes and maybe two or three cucumbers. Saturday I was craving a steak and traffic was so backed up going to the restaurant I was originally going to, that I instead decided to just go somewhere close to my house. Upon sitting down I was told they has a berry mojito special so I ordered. It was not good so I only had two sips. Next I ordered the sirloin dinner that was on special. As soon as the sliced steal was placed in front of me I knew it would not be goid. It looked unappealing. Sort of like boiled meat instead of a grilled steak. I took a bite. It was so bad I asked for steak sauce. It was still horrible. I only ate two of the pre-cut slices and told the waitress it was by far the WORST steak I ever had and said I would have wings instead. The wings were good as always. This horrible meal ended up costing me $56 for the uneaten steak dinner, horrible mojito I did not drink, and the wings. The bartender was nice. I use to bartend and if I noticed a customer not drinking a drink I made, i would have asked if they wanted anything else, or I would have remade the drink. The bartenders were nice so I left an $8 tip . This ended up being the most expensive buffalo wings I ever had. I was exhausted after having a long work week and not having eaten breakfast or lunch so I just paid and left without complaining.

This was a good experience, large portions, and very flavorful…read more For appetizers, we ordered butterfly shrimp, wings and burnt ends platter. Shrimp were good no wow factor, wings were good just plain but would have been better if they had a sauce and the burnt ends had more of a smoked bbq flavor which was different than usual but very tender and tasty. It was served with mixed vegetables and coleslaw. Veggies were ok and seasoned and coleslaw was to be desired. Not burnt ends is an entree on the menu. For entrees: crispy chicken sandwich with fries and chicken Mishkaki. Can I say, wow the portion required stretch pants! The sandwich; meat to bun is 20% more chicken than bread. It was seasoned and fried to perfection. The fries are in house cut and seasoned well too. The chicken Mishkaki is dish never tried before but reminds you of Nazan Halal's chicken with more of a rich tomato stew flavor with peppers, onions. It was about 8 to 10 skinless thin thighs seasoned and fork tenderness served in its own plate, then another plate with rice and the fixings. Think of a fajita sizzling plate and side plate of the fixings, same as this dish. I would definitely visit again! My pictures didn't save but here are few from other viewers which is identical to what was served.

We started with Potato Cakes with crème fraiche, they had a nice crunch, a tender interior with subtle flavor. I'd never had them with crème fraiche, it was a nice change and the mild tanginess with the creamy texture complimented the Cakes well. I ordered the Main Street with Weisswurst, a Pretzel and plain Spätzle. It was my first, the veal's flavor is understated in comparison to Bratwurst or Knackwurst (not on the menu) and was a pleasant changeup. The Pretzel was little disappointing while it was a decent pretzel, it lacked the crisp crust and distinctive flavor I expected. As evident by the rating while worthy of note, it's not a game changer. I'd ordered a large plain Spätzle, which was two regular portions, but was served Spätzle with cheese I tasted it and it wasn't my thing, which is not to say it was bad, I just don't care for cheese in dishes like that. Our server swapped one cheese for plain (my wife had happily stolen the other) and enjoyed the replacement. I found that the grilled onions gave it a nice homey flavor. Mistakes happen and it turned out to be a win in the end. We shared a couple of desserts and by far, my favorite was the Black Forest Cupcake. It's on the large side, they might be able to cut on the weighty crème icing, the chocolate cake and soaked cherries were a delight. The cherries are a significant improvement over the Marchinos I had before, if only there were more. Rathskeller can get a little loud, as it is a relatively small space with hard surfaces so voices reflect, it wasn't packed this afternoon, so it wasn't an issue.
