At first glance, this must be a franchise because the indoor decor covered everything but the details. Hand made signs and nonlogo items were a little tacky. Didn't know they had a food truck! I've gone to their store at RiverCity Market Place on the Northside and the banana pudding was the bomb! My friend swears by that and the cinnamon rolls. I'm a cobbler fanatic and very particular about my cobblers. I'm obsessed with this place! I agree with the reviews that say it's a lot for one sitting, but that's fine by me. Well, today is 8-6-22. They have been open for several weeks, if not months. We've seen the lines and heard the buzz about this place so we finally had the opportunity to go pay them a visit. First, there wasn't a huge line and we got in the door from the get go. That's where the luck ends. While walking in, a customer outside said they are out of everything peach. So we wait in a short line for what seemed like 30 minutes. It's hot as hell inside. I don't think the a/c was working. I look around, and there are about 6-8 families/customers sitting around waiting on their order. The whole time we were in line, only on order went out. As we got closer to the register, we see they are out of just about everything. The only pudding they had left was chocolate chip and banana. They were out of anything peach, plus a number of other cobbler. There appeared to be a lot of inefficiency going on. Five employees behind the counter only 2 were working; the cashier and one opening a box. The others were standing around. Still, no orders going out and it's still hot as hell. One would think that they would know how much product they need by now. And it was still hot as hell. I wish I could tell you how the products were but we left. He ended up ordering a red velvet banana pudding and ordering me an original peach cobbler. I genuinely took two bites and threw the whole thing away; he did the exact same thing with his banana pudding. I looked at his face and didn't taste his so I can only talk to mine. There was an overwhelming amount of cinnamon, you couldn't really taste the peach, it just that weirdly distinctive peach flavored sugar that you get in canned peach juice or something. Then somehow, despite this all just being a scooped mess in a bowl, the crust was super dry, like bordering on a saltine cracker. It sounds harsh but it almost genuinely felt like you had to be trying to make a peach cobbler this bad. Sarcasm aside, it seems like the Peach Cobbler Factory has focused on the end of its name. Their goal is to pump out as much peach cobbler, or peach cobbler related things, as quickly as possible and as cheaply as possible without large concern for quality. Some of the other positive reviews I've read specifically mention the unusual peach cobbler's, like cinnamon roll with walnuts, but if your name is peach cobbler factory I expect that you do peach cobbler really well and I don't think they did.
