Passable. Went here with some colleagues for a late breakfast as it was convenient to work. It's in a large, upscale, strip mall. The restaurant is compact and crowded but bright and cheery and appears very clean. There are a wide variety of breakfast items. The service was immediate, the food was delivered quickly, and the server kept checking up on us in an unobtrusive way. The food was okay; passable. I had an omelet and I get that turning them over quickly with high volume is a challenge, but it was a pretty dry (in other words, overcooked) omelet. My colleagues' food looked okay, but what I noted was that while two of them were men, neither finished their breakfast -- and it wasn't because they aren't hearty eaters. As many other reviews here noted, the coffee is weak and extremely disappointing. Definitely quick, friendly, and attentive service. The food was adequate. Went to Peaches today for lunch with my daughter. We had been told it was a great place for good food. What a disappointment. I had just gotten out of a doctors appointment and we were very hungry. We ordered the big breakfast and drinks. When we got our food the pancakes were burnt and cold the potatoes were cold, my daughter eggs looked like they were sitting in a hotel pan all morning and were cold ,both her bacon and mine must have been also warmed up twice and when I ordered orange juice I was told by the waitress was freshly squeezed it was like warm. I told the waitress things were really bad she could have cared less. All this for $45. Plus tip. No one else seemed to care and I can see from their location that they must do a good business I have been in the Restaurant,Hotel Industry over 25 years and found this experience to be awfully disappointing Ambiance was nice but better service and food would have been better! read more

Wow, after hearing some great recommendations from friends for this place now that I'm checking it out on Yelp I am feel much better about my not-so-great experience I had at Peaches this weekend. We showed up on a Sunday, around 11:45. I had a feeling it was going to be busy but I wanted to check it out. My date and I stood there for a full 5 mins waiting to find a hostess. I made eye contact with about 8 different servers all who averted their eyes. I don't mind waiting for a table, or waiting for a hostess but at least someone could have been like "oh the hostess will be right with you." I hate feeling ignored by people I plan on giving my money too. Right as I was about to walk out the hostess decided to show up and take my name, 5 mins later we were sat. First thing I noticed was how pricey the menu was. $4.50 for a cappuccino or a tea? $4.75 for a cup of the soup d'jour? Just generally overpriced for breakfast. A club sandwich is 15+ dollars! I got the California Eggs Benedict. I asked for onions with my home fries (not an odd request I thought). My eggs were over hard, not an ounce of runny yolk (LAME) and the home fries had HUGE chunks (bigger than quarters) of barely cooked onions. Color me unimpressed. My date said his pancakes were greasy, but the bacon and waffles looked really good. The table service was great, very attentive (even though 3 different servers took our order, brought the food, cleaned up, too the check...odd) but my hungover self was aching for more water and none came besides the first waters that graced the table. Pros - they have a decent variety of menu items to choose from. A number of very tasty looking desserts. A large selection of beverages: lots of teas, various coffee/ espresso drinks, beer, wine, mimosas, and my favorite - Italian sodas. The soup we had on our recent visit here, the chicken tortilla, didn't have a trace of tortilla in it, but it was very tasty. The Husband was also very happy with his chicken mushroom brie dish (see pic), although I tasted it and thought it was way too rich. Cons- Some of the prices are a little steep. $13 for a club sandwich? No thanks. The pasta Greek chicken I ordered (pic) was moderately tasty but there were several clumps of linguine on my plate that had stuck together while cooking; one of them was six strands thick. I know this happens sometimes when making pasta, but I'm not sure why they thought it was a good idea to serve it to me like that. The staff was also less than impressive. Our waitress was attentive but rushed and very dry. The open layout of the restaurant meant that we could overhear the staff talking loudly to each other behind the counter, including negative conversation about one of their tables. We watched an elderly couple being seated, and when they pointed out another table they preferred, the waitress actually told them they couldn't sit there because it was a table for four. What?! Only about 1/4 of the tables in the restaurant were seated at the time, and the majority of them are four tops. That is what I call shitty customer service, and this is the main reason I give Peaches only two stars. It should also be noted that the two-seaters here are pretty narrow, and my broad-shouldered husband had been considering asking for a bigger table until we saw the elderly couple get shot down. So be warned - if you have broad shoulders, make sure you come with a group of three or more, because small parties get small tables. Thems the rules. All in all, I'm not rushing to come back here. Next time I'm in the area and looking for a bite to eat, unless I have a hankering for an omelet, I'll just go next door to Chipotle. Actually, if I am dying for an omelet, I'll probably take a drive to one of the local diners, where I know I'll get decent food AND friendly service. read more

Yelpers, you were spot on about this place...I thought calling this place a glorified diner that attracts little old ladies for tea was a sort of harsh hyperbole, but when we sat down here for lunch at a nearly full house, I swear to you, there wasn't a single table in the place other than ours that did not feature a woman of, as they say in France, a certain age, and the menu was indeed just a couple of dishes away from diner-standard. I had a decent crab salad sandwich, that was like a patty melt with previously frozen somewhat tasteless crab meat, other members of our party had the grilled veggie wrap (above average) and the clam chowder (tasted like it was right out of a can). Service wasn't curt as others have described it but was not polished; no refills on water or iced teas and poor communication among servers as to what had been ordered. The food came up fast, though, and the Cracker Barrel-Sewing Circle decor was at least pleasant if a bit out of step. The desserts looked fabulous, but we decided to order tea since it was allegedly a specialty of the house. This was quite disappointing: it turned out to be just tea bags served in a pot of hot water, not actually brewed tea. The quality was not really high enough to justify the price or to suggest it as a dessert-and-tea or high-tea destination. I was equally annoyed as others before me by the "may not be seated until your entire group arrives" which is a policy befitting a Bennigan's or a TGIF's. Given that there were empty tables during our entire visit, it was also a stupid one. There is a kids' menu, although our junior did not order off it, but I would not call this "good for groups" by any stretch of the imagination - see the above policy, plus there's no table bigger than four seats in the place. This is a tepid three-stars; there's nothing objectionable about the place and the food was perfectly fine but a bit pricey for the fare. That makes it a reasonable emergency option but we will not be making it a destination, and I think if you skip it you will not live a life filled with regret ever after. read more

It had been a while since I'd eaten at Peaches so I stopped in this weekend for a quick lunch. It was not too busy at 1pm Sunday (woe to the diner who comes here at 11am on a Sunday). I ordered a BLT, which came with chips and a pickle. It was a fine plate of food for $7.95. My husband, on the other hand, got what was essentially a chicken panini with mozzarella and it cost him over $13. Now that I just don't get. Their desserts, however, were phenomenal as always. Upon the server's suggestion, I got the Southwest Potato Frittata ($8.95 now), and found it completely bland and very much overcooked and very dry. The service was fine though, and although being in what others consider to be a fancy shopping plaza, it was reasonably priced. But, your money would be better spent at Denny's. Originally the three of us were going to IHOP but the wait time was 30 minutes, understandable for a Sunday afternoon. So, we called Peaches and they said it would be about a 15 minutes wait. By the time we got there, they said like 10 more minutes, but the counter was open and the guy said we could sit there. We were immediately greeted by, I think it was Rachel or Emily. She was so welcoming and nice, asked us if we would like to start with drinks, so we all ordered cappuccinos, I added gingerbread to mine for 1.00. The best cappuccino I've had! I ordered the peaches and cream waffle (obvi) and my friends ordered blueberry and chocolate chip pancakes. Wait staff/staff were friendly and helpful - but the food seemed to lack any real flavor that made me want to recommend anyone to come try it. The prices were moderate, but to spend $30 on 3 desserts that seems to lack any significant flavor was very disappointing. I can not speak for there dinner options, I have only been in to have breakfast and a dessert run. It was not overly impressed by the food. I've come here several times now and while the service is good and food is tasty, I think the price is a little hefty. I ordered the California chicken sandwich that cost about $14.95. Not too bad but is probably worth $10 realistically. It tasted good with nice flavors but the roasted red pepper was a little overpowering. Toast was on the small size....like they toasted up a small piece of wonderbread. Tastes fine but I prefer a bit more "bite". Potatoes were not great. Over cooked, dry and hard. Second time here actually, the first time there was a really long wait so we decided to leave. So today as soon as we arrived we were seated . Where were seated it was a bit congested but we managed it. Our server was amazing she was very attentive. Now for the food I order Strawberry and Cream French toast and it was amazing!! It was so flavorful with fresh strawberries and cream on ciabatta. My husband had the banana nut French toast which he stated was really good and he like the fact it was on actual banana nut bread. I've lived in the area for years and always meant to go to Peaches because I'd heard such mixed reviews, and finally went with a friend yesterday. Pros: My server Cassondra was incredibly sweet and attentive, we were sat immediately, food came out in a timely manner, and when my Peach Bellini was very sweet they topped it off with more champage to help balance it out. Cons: I sent back an uneaten $8 french onion soup (tasted very weird, made my stomach churn) and it wasn't comped from my check, leaving me in an uncomfortable spot because I really liked my server and didn't want to seem rude asking her to take it off. Later I returned home only to get very very ill for the rest of the night in response. I hadn't eaten anything else and am very confident my sickness was a result of what I ate. Cute cafe. It was a busy Thursday morning. Say immediately. Our server Mercedes was very friendly. Took our order and brought our coffee. Then within minutes our breakfast arrived. I couldn't believe how fast this came out. What I was surprised with was that my dish was not hot. More like room temperature. Nonetheless it was good. I did like the flavor of the potatoes. We picked up curb side breakfast today, the website / online ordering was really user friendly, I was really happy with how easy it was to navigate. They even prompt to ask car type etc. we picked it up, ready right on time, they ran the food right out to us. Got home and it was what I would expect for diner food. Tasty, perfect for a hangover. But why I'm making this 5 stars was the French toast(just plain French toast) was amazing! Maybe the best I've ever had. I ate every bite and I usually just eat half. We had to come to Albany for a doctors appointment and were excited to stop and try Peaches after hearing ads on the radio! The place is cute and the location is great. Sadly, the food is mediocre at best and the coffee is essentially hot water that is brown. I couldn't even finish a cup! My toddler happily ate his food (scrambled Agfa and a waffle) from the kids menu and the servers were nice. I had the Texas eggs and my husband had the quiche Lorraine and both were flavorless. I wanted to order one of the beautiful desserts but I was scared to after having such bland meals and bad coffee. My best friend and I decided one day to stop by here and get s lunch. The place looked cute enough. We ordered mochas to drink which were ok. We then ordered cheese quesadillas which were already ridiculously priced to begin with. We decided to add chicken for an extra few dollars. When we got our quesadillas, they were Luke warm and looked microwaved. The chicken was disgusting and rubbery. The cheese tasted like chemicals and there was no onions or peppers to indicate that this was a real quesadilla. The service was slow despite there being practically no other customers. My husband had been here before but this was my first time. When you first walk in it seems kind of small and narrow but there is a whole Other back room for dining. (So do not fret) It was the one downside to me though there isn't really much room. It was just the two of us however we absolutely felt like we were eating brunch with the people next to us on both sides. The server was very nice and attentive. The prices seem to be on par. I was quite surprised when our food had arrived at the table. IT WAS GORGEOUS and tasted good too. We were seated promptly in a nice cozy back room. My girls were very excited about the junior waffles. They strongly advise ordering with the fruit and whipped cream on the side as the waffles quickly became soggy and were no longer appetizing to them. They devoured my potatoes - which I was fine with as they were simply fried potatoes- easily skipped. They seemed to have bee sitting and really needed ketchup as they were quite dry. The poached eggs were perfectly done and the 12 grain went with them with just the right amount of butter. The hash- was more a shredded brisket consistency. They added peppers and onions which was a nice addition. Letting my poached egg soak in made it yummy! I went on Veteran's Day with my brother who is the vet. They weren't offering any specials or discounts so that was a tad disappointing. He ordered the Strawberries and Cream French toast and was impressed with all the whipped cream. He liked the Challah bread it is made with. I ordered the Milanese Omelette which was tasty with hot sauce. My home fries were over done but no biggie. Our food wasn't bad but it wasn't especially great either. Our coffee was terrible so he thought he'd upgrade to a Mocha to try to improve things: Both were just horrible that we didn't finish them. Ok, first off, what does the photo on this page have to do with Peaches or the food there? I don't get it. Secondly, I came here some months back and was unimpressed. Service was curt, even after trying to be friendly and engaging with our waitress. Food was meh, nothing special. Had a lobster bisque(maybe they called it chowder) that had two itty bitty little pieces of lobster in it. They have some of the trappings and cute servers of a cafe without the food. There's no reason to describe the food and drinks I ordered because it's just not that good and not worth my time. Stick with Cafe Madison or New World Bistro in the Albany area if you want brunch/sandwich food, otherwise hit up the diners. Expect diner quality food with the facade of a cafe. read more
